PoliticsMilitants Attack FIRS Officials In Patience Jonathan' Hotel by higherpower(op): 7:03am On May 04, 2017
Suspected militants on Wednesday attacked officials of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) at a hotel, Aridolf Resort Wellness & Spa, owned by former first lady Patience Jonathan, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

It was gathered that the FIRS team went to the hotel in respect of tax liabilities totaling N10,117,500, but were attacked by the hoodlums suspected to be loyal to Dame Patience.

According to reports, the FIRS team arrived Aridolf, demanded to see the most senior staff of the hotel but without success.

The team, however, read the warrant of distraint to the hotel officials at the reception, as militants, believed to have lodged in the hotel, came out and threatened to kill the officials, claiming that the enforcement exercise was illegal.

“We demanded that they should phone the manager to inform him of the team’s presence and mission, but they ignored the demand,” a FIRS official said.

“The FIRS team, however, read the warrant of distraint to them… After over 30 minutes of argument, militants believed to have lodged in the hotel came out and threatened to kill FIRS officials, claiming that the enforcement exercise was illegal.

“When one of the directors of the hotel, Mr. Victor, arrived the scene, we showed him the warrant of distraint and told him that the hotel owed three months VAT.”

The official said a man, who identified himself as Chief Anthony, arrived and threatened some of FIRS officials would be shot. He said the warrant was not properly signed since it did not carry the seal of the agency’s chairman, Babatunde Fowler.

“He claimed that the visit was a plot to ridicule Mrs. Jonathan, and that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, sent FIRS officials to plant cash in the premises.”

“Anthony ordered the militants not to allow them leave the premises until ‘Mummy’ comes.

“He ordered them to arrest the team leader and some other officials. The armed militants forced the FIRS officials to remove the seal already placed at entrance of the hotel’s salon and gym as well as to unlock the hotel entrance.”

The Eagle Online reports that the militants forced the team leader, a newspaper reporter and an NTA camera man that accompanied the team into a room, where they were beaten up.

Their phones were also seized and images on them deleted. They also deleted items stored in the camera

PoliticsCould This Be Why Goodluck Jonathan Lost? Picture by higherpower(op): 5:17pm On Apr 28, 2017
A lot of revelations have been made since this week begins. The Ex president even accused external collaborations while some feels otherwise.

Could this be the reasons or one of the reasons?

PoliticsAmaechi Had Problem With Patience, Not Me —jonathan by higherpower(op): 8:24am On Apr 28, 2017
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said there is no bone of contention between him and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaehi.

Rather, Jonathan stated that Amaechi had a problem with his wife, Patience, which he (Jonathan) tried in vain to resolve.

Jonathan’s disclosed this in a book titled, ‘Against the Run of Play,’ written by the Chairman, Editorial Board of ThisDay, Olusegun Adeniyi.

“Jonathan told me that Amaechi’s problem was not with him but rather with his wife and that, at a point, he tried to reconcile them,” the book stated.

While Amaechi admitted that he was at loggerheads with Patience, he said Jonathan was not saying the whole truth, noting that there were also disagreements between him and Jonathan, during the latter’s era as the President.

The ex-Rivers State governor attributed the cause of his grudge with Jonathan to illegal and excess deduction from the federation account by the former president.

He said, “I could not surrender my mandate to a woman (Patience) in Abuja, even if such a person was the wife of the President…that basically was my sin with Dame Patience Jonathan.

“If in one year, you took about N300bn from the federation account to pay for subsidy and the next year, you are taking almost N2tn for the same thing when fundamentals had not changed, then serious questions should be asked.

“And as NGF (Nigerian Governors Forum) chairman, it was my responsibility to ask those questions and Jonathan took them personal.”

Jonathan only called me once for a meeting over Boko Haram —Shettima

In the book, the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, lamented that Jonathan was not committed to the efforts to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.

Shettima said out of the 13 meetings he had with Jonathan on the Boko Haram terrorism, only one was initiated by the latter.

“All the others were at my seeking appointments to see him and on some occasions, it took several weeks for such requests to be granted. There was a belief around President Jonathan that the whole Boko Haram crisis was orchestrated to undermine him and his administration and because of that, there was no interest in resolving the problem,” he added.

The governor alleged that Jonathan ‘marked’ him for pushing for the meetings and allegedly planned to remove him and the two other governors in the North-East.

Shettima said, “He particularly wanted to remove me….I heard that his Attorney-General and Justice Minister, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, said there was nowhere in the constitution where the President had the power to remove a governor. In fact, I was told that President Jonathan reportedly interjected by asking, ‘How come President Obasanjo removed Governor Joshua Dariye?’ to which he was reminded that the Dariye aberration had been declared illegal by the Supreme Court.”

Crime#justicefortalatumusa: 7 Years Old Raped By Taraba State Senator' Son Died by higherpower(op): 7:11am On Apr 28, 2017
Injustice at the peak!!!!

The 21yr old son of a Senator from Taraba state
raped a 7year old girl anally.
He destroyed her internal organs and she died.
The girl's father works/worked as a guard for the
Senator. While his
daughter was being rushed to the
hospital for surgery,
The Senator had him arrested, that he was trying
to tarnish his political career by accusing his son
of raping his daughter.
The 7year old girl died, today as they were
wheeling her in for surgery.
Her name is Talatu Musa Paul Her father is still
locked up, and does not yet know his daughter is
dead.
A DSS operative whom today i have great respect
for when Talatu Musa Paul died, took his team
And picked up the Senator's son because the
police brought in to arrest, the 21year old
Senator's Son were afraid to
because his father is an important senator
,His father pulled strings and pressure from above
mounted on this DSS operative and his team until
they had to
let the bastard go.
The Senator called the operative and asked him to
send his account details over so they can forget
this ever happened.
The DSS operative asked him if Talatu Musa Paul
was his daughter, would he feel it just to kill the
issue over some amount of money?
The Senator on the phone immediately said God
Forbid that something like this will happen to his
daughter.
The SSS operative then went ballistic screaming at
him that so this is ok for Talatu Musa Paul but not
for his daughter?
It is ok for his son to put a knife to a 7yr old
child's neck & then proceed to violently rape her
anus, but it is not ok for his daughter. Justice Delayed is Justice Denied. I am hereby calling for interference by the federal government and I know soonest my voice will be heard. Forward as received so as to join *Comr Mubarak Abdulganiyi* As I advocate for women. Contact me on 08162324114

PoliticsI Won’t Vote PDP Presidential Candidate In 2019 – Gov Umahi by higherpower(op): 7:52am On Apr 19, 2017
Ebonyi State governor and chairman, South East Governors’ forum, David Umahi, yesterday said he and his supporters will not vote along party lines in 2019 general election.
Umahi, who is currently a governor on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ruled out the possibility of him voting the party’s candidate come 2019.
He said the state would vote for a presidential candidate that would help develop the state irrespective of his or her political affiliation.
According to him, the state will not play politics of sentiments in the 2019 presidential election.
Mr. Umahi spoke at the government house, Abakaliki, during a meeting with traditional rulers and town union presidents in the state.
“When it comes to presidency, we no dey do party,” he said. “It is the man that will help us to develop this state, that’s the man we will support. But for governorship, national assembly and state assembly don’t go there. Nobody will touch it. for presidency, we will negotiate, we will like the person to discuss with our traditional rulers as stakeholders.”
Mr. Umahi’s party, PDP, is Nigeria’s largest opposition party, although it led the country for 16 years: 1999-2016.
Although it is currently factionalised, the PDP, or whatever it transforms to become, is expected to be the main challenger to Nigeria’s ruling APC in the 2019 presidential elections.
Mr. Umahi’s statement, in a state traditionally considered a PDP state, may indicate the party will have a lot to do if it wants to win the 2019 elections.
The governor, who called on the traditional rulers to mobilise residents for Saturday’s local government and councillorship elections, noted that the state was targeting one million voters in the election.
“As traditional rulers, we cannot tell you to vote for this party or that party but you have the responsibility to knack the gong and make it compulsory that nobody goes to market, nobody goes to farm on the election day.
“You have to go and knack the gong and you have powers and authority to do that. In the north, it is the traditional rulers that determine the course of politics and I will give you people that role. So, don’t shy away from politics for the peace of Ebonyi state.
