PoliticsWhy Igbos Are Now Accepting APC – Vice Chairman by higherpower(op): 8:15am On Dec 02, 2016
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has attributed the recent defections of politicians from the south-east to the ruling party to the commitment shown by President Muhammadu Buhari to execute vital projects in the zone.
The National Vice Chairman (South East) of the APC, Emma Enuekwu, stated this while speaking to journalists at the party secretariat in Abuja after a meeting of south-east stakeholders.
The meeting was to plan for fresh membership registration in the zone.
Mr. Enuekwu said Igbos are beginning to have confidence in the new administration and are wiser after the 16-year rule of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
“The problem with the south easterners before the election was that they felt that PDP was the proper party for the Igbo man which they came to realize lately was not true because they were disappointed. PDP was in power for 16 years and the Enugu-Onitsha road was not done, the Enugu-Port Harcourt road was not done, the second Niger Bridge was not done,” the APC chieftain said.
“When they realized this, they are now seeing that Buhari who has been in power for a little over one year has paid contractors and started doing something about the Enugu-Onitsha road, the Enugu-Port Harcourt road and has started doing something on the second Niger Bridge within one year.”
“Because of the high level of integrity displayed by President Buhari, many people are anxious to join the party. Therefore, a lot of people that have moved from other parties and entered APC have not had the opportunity of being registered and therefore the leadership felt it necessary that these people be registered so that they can be part of the party ahead of the next general election.”
The official said the party will adopt manual registration which will also capture the biometrics of every member.

Some top Igbo politicians who recently decamped to the APC include Jim Nwobodo and Orji Kalu former governors of Anambra and Abia state respectively.

Plateau State gov, Simeon Lalong
Governor of Plateau State Barrister Simon Lalong on Thursday said that, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose is not welcome in All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor, however, boasted that the APC would soon reclaim Ekiti State from PDP, saying that APC would replicate the successes the party recorded in Edo and Ondo States.

Mr Fayose had reportedly threatened to leave the PDP.

The governor stated this at the North Central zonal congress of the APC for the election of persons to fill vacant national positions for the zone in Abuja.

The governor who tactically addressed Mr Fayose said that, “the one I am waiting for is Ekiti. I understand that after Ondo, the man has been saying he wants to come to APC. We are saying he should remain in PDP till after the election.”

According to him, “We just came back from Ondo  and we were again recruited yesterday (Wednesday) to go to Rivers again and conduct another election. Our own is to ask for your usual and continued support.

“Before now, some people were looking down on APC, but now people with ambitions for 2019 are withdrawing from the PDP and coming to the APC. We are going to Rivers and we will win the elections there. After there, we are moving to Anambra and that one is a done deal,” the governor statedm

In a bid to avoid the political booby trap that threw the succession plan of Governor Olusegun Mimiko into disarray and eclipsed the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the just concluded Ondo governorship election, Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, hinted Wednesday on the possibility of using another platform to prosecute his succession battle during the 2018 governorship poll . Fayose, who dropped the hint in Ikere Ekiti while meeting with the members of the Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria, Ikere chapter, said “I don’t know the platform I will use for the 2018 election yet and at the appropriate time, I will tell you”. Fayose “We are still studying the situation . We have to play the game left, right and centre and whoever we are going to use and the platform, you will all be part of the process because party politics is about the people”. Fayose also said the victory of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the Saturday’s governorship poll in Ondo State does not in any way threaten the popularity and general acceptability of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ekiti. The governor, who described Akeredolu’s victory at the poll as a contrivance of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in cahoot with APC, added that the victory the did not confer legitimacy on the poll or lent credence to the fact that Ondo electorate had voted rightly. “You all saw how people sold their votes in Ondo state, I am confident that that will not happen in Ekiti. I am close to the people you are the source of my strength . Even if it requires just 48 hours to any election, if I tell you where to go, you will surely follow me there”, Fayose said. At a separate meeting with the junior staff of the state civil service, Fayose boasted that he will repeat the 16-0 he meted out to Ex-governor Kayode Fayemi in 2014, where he defeated the incumbent in all the sixteen local governments . He promised that he would continue to do his best in the payment of salaries by carrying the workers along to know what accrues to the state from the federation account, adding that there won’t be communication gap once his government doesn’t operate in secrecy. “APC will be fooling itself if it thinks it will conquer Ekiti like it did in Ondo . Ekiti is a peculiar place and I am the man on ground here. I want to assure my supporters and Nigerians that APC won’t win a local government here in 2018, even if President Muhammadu Buhari moves down all the money in FG’s TSA. “Governor Olusegun Mimiko and Eyitayo Jegede must have lost in Ondo State, but that does not mean the people had voted rightly. In 2015, people clamoured for change and what have we got now? Nigerians are becoming poorer than ever. “Today, I am the only one among the APC governors in the southwest . I am now like the nation of Israel surrounded by enemies, but I shall defeat and triumph over them. “APC has never defeated me in any battle, either political or legal. Whether they like it or not, I will win in Ekiti no matter the animosity , because I have the people behind me”, Fayose declared.

PoliticsTinubu Speaks On Akeredolu’s Victory In Ondo by higherpower(op): 10:54pm On Nov 27, 2016
November 2016, Premium Times

A former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, on Sunday congratulated Rotimi Akeredolu, the winner of the governorship election in Ondo State.
Mr. Tinubu had been opposed to Mr. Akeredolu’s emergence as candidate of their party, APC, alleging irregularities in the party’s primaries.
The former governor and his key supporters were conspicuously absent during Mr. Akeredolu’s campaign rallies.
However, on Sunday, few hours after Mr. Akeredolu was declared winner by the electoral commission, INEC, Mr. Tinubu asked party members to close ranks “for the good of our party and its progressive ideals.”
Read Mr. Tinubu’s full statement below:
Following the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with regard to the governorship elections in Ondo State, I extend congratulations to Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN. on the outcome of the election and for his perseverance and persistence in seeking that office.
I must also congratulate the people of Ondo State for their generally exemplary conduct on election day and for demonstrating their will to shun the regressive politics of yesterday by returning to the progressive brand of politics that has been the trademark of the people of that state.
I congratulate all party members in the state, particularly the party leadership in the Southwest.

Finally, I must express profound congratulations to President Muhammadu Buhari, the national leader of the party, whose stature and dignity helped guide the APC to another victory that should advance the progressive aims of the party and the people.
To all the people and parties in Ondo, your election has been had and held. Now is the time that all must work for the continued development, prosperity and peace of your state and our beloved country.
I appeal to all party members including those who have been disaffected from the primary until today to come together for the good of our party and its progressive ideals.

Saraki blasts Fayose, others: Don’t trivialise “serious national issue'

A day after the Ekiti State Governor alleged that Senate President Bukola Saraki was being blackmailed by President Muhammadu Buhari on the proposed $30 billion loan, Mr. Saraki has responded.
The Senate President in a general response advised politicians not to trivialise a “serious national issue.”

PREMIUM TIMES reported how Mr. Fayose claimed that the president was using Mr. Saraki’s corruption trial at the Code of Conduct to blackmail the senate president into supporting the loan request by the executive.

The Ekiti Governor in a statement by his spokesperson on Wednesday advised Mr. Saraki and the Senate to remain firm and reject the loan request despite meetings between Mr. Buhari and the Mr. Saraki.
On Thursday, in his response, the senate president advised politicians to stop peddling speculations about his recent visits to the presidency.
The statement by Mr. Saraki’s Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja on Thursday said that politicians were linking the visits to President Muhammadu Buhari’s yet-to-be-approved $29.9 billion foreign loan request.
“In all his recent meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the issue of the proposed loan never came up for discussion,” the statement said.
It, therefore, said that the comments by some politicians on the loan issue, without any factual basis, were “unfortunate.”

“Like I once told the media, these politically-motivated commentaries are trivialising a serious national issue.
“They are presenting it as if it is a personal matter that can be decided at meetings between Saraki and Buhari.
“The National Assembly which I head as Senate President has taken a position on the issue as required of it by the laws of the land and legislative conventions,’’ the statement quoted Mr. Saraki as saying.
Mr. Saraki was also quoted as saying “the present National Assembly will make decisions based on national interest and will always act in the interest the people.
“That is why in spite of the fact that members belong to different parties, when national issues come to the floor, we forget about party affiliations and act as Nigerians elected to protect the interest of Nigeria.
“A visit to the Presidency by the Senate President is a normal thing because we need to consult, discuss, exchange ideas and make suggestions to each other from time to time.
“More importantly, at this time, when the nation is facing economic crisis, there is need for frequent engagements by the Presidency and the National Assembly.’’
The statement added that “Saraki, nonetheless, urged politicians to stop playing to the gallery or drawing political capital from all issues.
“Similarly, the media should exercise restraint in their reportage and commentaries in order to properly serve our people.”
The Senate had initially thrown out the foreign loan request, saying necessary documents on repayment, loan sources and so on where not attached. The presidency has pledged to attach relevant information and resubmit the loan request, which if approved, will be Nigeria’s largest even loan.

WhatsApp Extends Blackberry Shutdown Till June 2017

WhatsApp earlier this year announced they would no longer be supporting BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 handsets by the end of 2016 but it seems they have changed their mind.

According to an update in the FAQ section of the WhatsApp App it has now been extended to June 2017

WhatsApp support for mobile devices
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms:
BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 Nokia S40 Nokia Symbian S60 The following platforms will no longer be supported at the beginning of 2017:
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 Windows Phone 7 iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.

The new update for the BlackBerry 10 version is available through BlackBerry World, it should be however noted that this just resets the time-bomb built into the app. a whole lot of people have been trying to dispose their phones to get compatible ones but i guess now they'll wait a little more.

Don't forget to share with your Friends :-)

That's about 30,000,000 naira with the current exchange rate and he chose to destroy the shop. People like that make their money from doing live shows called 直播there are lots Chinese app like 快手,花椒,陌陌,QQ etc and viewers pay you. I bet you he's gonna make his money back by doing a live show for 2 hours. They are very rich as they have millions of followers and thousands of people giving them money. They can make 40million naira in a day. A guy in my school did that, bought a Range Rover and destroyed it with a sledge hammer. It's like a business strategy for them to get more followers and so it's easy for them to make sacrifices like that. Wish I could share more videos, I don't wanna make anybody suicidal grin grin
