The problems of oppression, exploitation, discrimination and subjugation of women are neither new phenomena nor peculiar to Nigeria alone but the word at large. It appears that majority of womenfolk suffer discrimination, exploitation or oppression because they are women and, therefore, regarded as members of a "subordinate" class. In the recent past, women's right has been a great concern all over the world (Nigeria most especially). This therefore, calls for the need to examine this problem in Nigerian context.
Like every other day I login to Nairaland to see one post or more that relates to women's oppression, exploitation and subjugation etc. Posts like the following; Pastor rapes..., tenant touches a female neighbor's..., My boss is asking me to..., Police man beats a pregnant woman..., A guy touches her..., etc. has become too usual that if care is not taken, the next generation will see no wrong in them.
What do you think is the problem? What measures do you think would control this phenomena?

How do feel when you are sitting in the church with some one whom is in the habit of advising you often.

When ever I indulge into any naughty talks or dealings, I always leave no trace for my pious friend because he will always preach and advice me even when he is not sure of the issue at hand, he only need to sense it and he will start. I have been advised severally on issues I know nothing about and crimes am innocent of.

I was in the church today with this friend of mine who took an oath that we must both be in heaven, calmly sitting close to me.

It was not easy at all, because all the admonition that was dished from the pulpit today was been translated not with words but with laughter and gestures and in my friend's mind I was the person in need of them the most. At a point I was laughing along side even though I knew I was not really laughing from within.

Hypocrites every where.
For him mind God don catch me today but I know that I am in a good relationship with my God. I am not holy but am a striving Christian and I know God's grace is enough for me.

Please you can share your similar experiences and send your advices to this hypocrites.

Pardon my poor Grammar please, my countenance is too wonderful as am writing this.
My room mate is a religious Christian, no doubt. I will try to cut the story short.
We have been living in good terms, he has advised me severally but am not comfortable with the latest advice he gave me this morning.

My roomie has taken it upon his himself to call me to order when ever he sees me doing any thing wrong and as such has usually adviced me, I think is because I have not shunned him before like other guys who are living with their age mates will. I have been loyal and respectful to my present roomie because he is older than with over 10yrs.

He called me this morning and pointed out this traits which he said he has seen in me and his conscience will allow him to keep quick over it,

(1) that I am becoming too materialistic; that he listens to my phone calls especially when I call home requiring for money, that I don't need to worry them always and is not everything that I need.
In response I thanked him and promised to change in respect to that.

(2) that my spiritually is low and he sensed that am a porn addict and is not good that it will destroy me. He said that's why my glo (3gb) subscription don't last me more than two weeks and I keep waiting resources.

In response I gave him my phone to check my browser if he will fine a porn site that he could base his point. I told him am not an addict of porn site as he has portrayed me to be, because I use to hail you that you don't exhaust your 3gb subscription every month has given you a point to accuse me of constantly surfing porn sites.

(3) he said I should also watch about sexual life that he has noticed I use to masturbate in the night. That sometimes when he wakes up in the middle of the night he sees my sleeping position and when he puts on the light I quickly change my position. Nothing wey I no go see. He said the masturbation is a resultant effect of porn addiction.

I thanked him for the courage but I tried to correct the impression that am not a porn addict and am don't masturbate. But I was surprised that he was insisting that am denying things he took time to study, he said he has changed many people even chronic guys.
My problem is that he presented this issues from a spiritual perspective, spoke about spiritual wife which might be responsible for some acts.
Abeg guys, this story tire me, even yesternight I was discussing girls issues with my guy and sharing experiences and that one too was a case, make I start de pretend?

My question is, is he prophecying to me or his presenting to me some empirical occurrences.
Can you be into such acts without being fully aware of them.

Truthfully speaking now am no longer comfortable with since his insisting that am what I know am not, I now fear him because he likes giving testimony everywhere and every now and then am wondering how many people he might have told that I masturbate.
