He was charged at the Federal High Court for cyber crime whilst he was charged at the Margistrate Court for Criminal Defamation. Hence, both are two different charges. The FHC gave him a N50m bail bound whilst the Magistrate Court postponed decision on bail till December 20 2024. Hope this helps. quote author=Antoeni post=133239421]Please lawyers should help me. A Federal High Court granted him bail (court of higher jurisdiction on a matter) but a court of lower jurisdiction denied him bail. Is Magistrate court more powerful than Federal high court? Please; I am a novice in law o.
|
Encouraging people to carelessly defame people who work hard to get to where they are just because you are able to buy 1000 Naira cheap Internet data is dangerous to the society... An individual that is defamed has the right to pursue a criminal or civil defamation case in the court depending on the degree of damages he or she has suffered. Hence, d emotional blackmail of saying, go to court for civil action has become a broken disc. If you plan to defame ur fellow, u should be prepared to face d consequences. |
I am sure people like only u only listen to pedestrian statements on defamation. I doubt if u have read anything independently on it. There is a criminal aspect to defamation. It depends on the one u which to pursue if you are defamed carelessly by a loosed mouth like this arrested self acclaimed human right lawyer. We should not be continually encourage people to go on social media, TV or radio stations to defame people carelessly abd then turn around to claim the victim when a petition is written against them for criminal prosecution by the state. Is it every individual that us defamed who has d money to pursue a civil case in d Court?........ quote author=Blitzerz post=133157893]Defamation is a civil case This is nonsense Afe babalola is a stooge. He is being used
|
Proposed VAT increase from 7.5% to 15% the next 6 years is on luxury goods. Essential commodities that are for d masses will be totally exempted from VAT . Kindly read the document to understand and not listening to d jaundiced view of some myopic individuals. If u want luxury, u should be able to pay for it. The tax reform bills are very sound. However, the function of the National Assembly is to look at the bills holistically, adjust where necessary . Wallade: |
Everyone wants change but no one wants to change. A typical Nigerian mentality. The so called corrupt leaders are your fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunties, cousins, etc. The corrupt civil servants are your brothers and sisters. The ritualist, the yahoo boys and girls, the wicked employees and employers are all Nigerians. We have been blaming the ruling elites since 1960, what has really changed nothing. For Nigeria to be great, all of us must be ready to change.... Meanwhile, Nigerians are not the only one migrating. Indian and China still have the highest migrants in countries like UK, US Canada, etc. Despite this, I have never seen any of them cursing their countries. ....Peace. |
This Internet jobless child has spoken again. Did Donald Trump not approach the courts even up to the supreme Court to cancel the election when he lost 4 years ago? Up till today, Trump still believed the election was rigged. If Kamala had won, Trump would still not have accepted the outcomes of the election. Where was this Internet boy when Algore took George Bush to court for the recount of votes from Florida years back?.... No elections are perfect anywhere. The difference is that Nigeria has politicians who are sore lossers. Internet now breads different kinds of illetrates. |
7demons:What you wrote, was it different from the above analysis? Kindly try to improve your comprehension skills 1. If u av 10m Naira deposit , NDIC will pay you N5m, while the balance will be paid only assets liquidated, Creditors paid, etc. 2. In ur statement, NDIC will pay 5m Naira below in the first instance... The two statements above, are they different in context? |
MarketDispatch:Can you park a petrol car with leakage near someone frying akara? Change is constant in life. If you have money to stick to petrol car, stick to it rather than discouraging those who might want to use CNG with baseless assumptions. Life is about choices. Government has offered u an alternative to high fuel cost, it is now left for u to choose. Even in countries like UK, u have options of Petrol cars, Diesel cars, full electric cars and hybrid cars. Ur financial capacity will dictate which one u buy. Let us learn to embrace changes. |
obiekunie01:Hi, " goes up" can only be used if the subject ( Noun or Pronoun) is singular. E.g Price and tax goes up. In this instance, the noun used is in plural form, hence the verb must also be in plural form. E g Prices and taxes go up. Mind you....."goes up' is not a present continuous tense as you insinuated in ur response. Thanks |
What is the headache of Reuben with regard to whether the Gov. Elect communicates in Queen's English, his native Language or pidgin English? The most important thing is for his subjects to understand him. .. Ruben with all his PhD , is still an employee of a politician. He served as the spoke person of GEJ and was a Deputy Gov. Candidate under PDP in Ogun State few years back. Hence, he cannot be objective in his disposition to other parties. He will always be partisan in his analysis of other political parties. |
breezeng:Poor narrative you gave here. One sided and myopic narrative. If it is sure for Dangote Refinery that , the Price quoted by the NNPCL was not the price the coy sold to NNPCL, let them come out openly and tell Nigerians the exact price the PMS was sold to NNPCL by Dangote Refinery... Dangote Refinery like any of the other coys in the group hate competition. Dangote Refinery wants total control of the oil sector which will not be in the interest of the Nigerians in the Long run. Why do you think that, if Dangote refuses to supply cements just for 2 weeks, the price of cements will go up immediately? This is because, Dangote Cements supply more than half of the cements in the country. Let him compete with the importers. The choice lies in the hands of the consumers. |
SAN Falana with all due respect always thinks he has a say on everything even when he does not have the expertise to speak on such an issue. As a secretive, non-transparent the agreement between NNPCL and Dangote Refinery may be, is there anything that says NNPCL is the one that fixed the price Dangote Refinery sold its PMS to NNPCL? NNPCL had only released the retail prices fuel will be sold at its own Filling station outlets. The question is, why is it difficult for Dangote refinery to release the price it sold the fuel to NNPCL for transparency sake?. Both NNPCL, Dangote Refinery and the Oil Marketers are all bird of a feather........ everyone of then is fighting for what will favour them, not the poor masses. |
press9jatv:Some of your type are ignorant of the extant laws and the judicial pronouncements. What the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals said was that, An APC candidate cannot challenge the candidacy of a PDP candidate in the court on the basis of invalid Nomination. However, a PDP party member who is entitled to have participated in the Governorship primary of PDP but was excluded illegally, has the legal right to challenge such in court. In this instant case, the question u should have asked urself was, the man that went to court, is he a member of PDP or opposition parties? If he is a member of PDP, then, the judgement is sound and correct. |

quote author=llbhuds post=130344597]Congratulations to her. Although, the first thing I did after seeing the post was to search for her on researchgate and I must say she deserves the elevation based on her profile. However, the question now is that would she had been elevated if she without being a first lady?
With all due respect, you must be one of those kids that wrote their WAEC in miracle centres. Even after you put up her achievements in the field of research which justify her promotion, you still went on to ask a very contradictory question. In some schools in Nigeria, you need just about 50 published articles in any SCOPUS journals to be given full professorship. UI is more or less the toughest University in Nigeria for you to be promoted to Professorial cadre |
The Law was amended. IMPLICATIONS A. If you have N10k savings in the bank, NDIC will pay you the full 10k amount. B. If you have N10m deposits in the bank, NDIC will pay you N5m insured amount in the first instance. Once NDIC is able to liquidate the assets of the bank, and recover the bad loans, your balance of N5m will be paid. PNomsule: |
Given the recent demolition exercises being carried out by various state governments across the country, some of the affected house owners have been questioned by some Nigerians if they actually possess the CofO of the buildings. The major obstacle to obtaining the CofO in some states is usually the state governments themselves. A colleague of mine applied for CofO in ONDO STATE since around April 2023 after paying all sorts of fees such as CofO fees, 3 years taxes, Land Use Charge, etc. It is now over 1 year, the CofO is yet to be issued to him. He went for a follow up last week and he was to that the CofO is even yet to get to the table of the commissioner for works much less the governor who will give the final approval. Please, what are your experiences with other states with regard to CofO? |
Many of ur type lack exposure. Try to evade arrest with the UK police and see how they will drag u pass generator. Y could he respect himself and follow them like a normal human being? quote author=antiMuhamad post=129960250] . When you are treated that way, police pulling your blokos, or perhaps it happens to your wife. Then, you will get it.
|
You are being clever by half. Code of ethics that govern a financial institution are even more stricter than the public office codes. The banks hold the fund in trust for the customers. So, it purely conflict of interest for the CEO of a bank to award a contract to the Coy of his wife.... quote author=adioolayi post=128822916] Min1ister of Interior is a public officer that must adhere to code of conducts as spelt out by code of conduct bureau. Access Bank is a private organisation...the wife's company is also a private organisation....they have nothing to do with Code of conduct bureau. So, the two instances are not same
|
Ignorance is a disease. Read to understand and not to react. The minimum capital base was already set. His message was just a reminder to the banks CEOs to be mindful of the initial directive. I guess you are still in secondary school or probably in 100 level in a university. quote author=MrPristine post=129130891]How can he be telling them to expedite action on recapitalization without setting a new minimum capital base? Does this man know what he is doing?
|
Ignorance is a disease. You hold a country passport as a mean of staying in the UK, yet, just on your first day in UK, you labelled your country bad country. You must be very ignorant of how life is in the UK. People like you make others Nationalities treat Nigerians like trash . Be wise... |
Governor Seyi is wrong here. Unfortunately, some people only need the view of a politician to activate their ignorance on security, economic and social-political issues. When the FG negotiated with NLC and made a Unilateral decision on Minimum wage in the past @ N30k, how many states were able to pay the minimum wage to their workers? Some states Governors were even blaming the FG for deciding on behalf of the states without taking into consideration the financial capacity of each state of the federation in determining the Minimum wage.. Now, an opportunity has been given to each state governor to submit a memorandum on the Architecture of the state police based on the peculiarities of each state, He called it a waste of time. What a statement from "The Chief Security Officer" of a State? |
Did you say the same thing in the case of the internal Affairs Minister despite the fact that he had resigned his directorship from the company since 2018? Hypocrisy. .. adioolayi: |
This is a SOS to the Ondo State Governor to urgently Intervene in the unnecessary delays in getting BUILDING APPROVALS from the STATE MINISTRY OF URBAN/ TOWN PLANNING as well ad the C of O issuance several months after necessary payments and documents have been submitted. A close colleague of mine had made all necessary payments and submitted all necessary documents since MAY 2023. Till date ( Almost 1 year after), neither the BUILDING APPROVALS nor the C of O has been released. The officials of the ministry / agency in charge of these approvals and the C of O have been giving one excuse or the other. Infact, it was said, only when C of O has been issued before they could do the building approvals. This is highly worrisome and i therefore appeal to the Governor of Ondo State to please personally intervene as this may discourage people from applying for building approvals viz the C of O and this will also lead to a decline in IGR to the government. |
