Specs are much better than the XW and has features that are extra cost on the XW.

Pylontech batteries with Axpert vmiii inverter. This Axpert talks to the pylontech via rs485 so settings are automatic. The Pylontechs will work with any inverter that allows you set bulk and float voltages. Each battery has a built in BMS that disconnects on the set voltage to protect the batteries.

Yes, easy to program bulk, float and Low battery disconnect.
We prefer to let the inverter shut off before the battery BMS acts.

Update on Valence batteries

Have two permanent installations working very well currently.
Finally settled on 14.0v bulk charge and 13.8v float. Low voltage disconnect 11.5v

(Manufacturer wants 14.6 bulk but not charging lifepo4 to 100℅ extends battery life)
The built-in bms disconnects any battery to gets to 10.5v
The batteries charge very fast - 12v each one can accept up to 25A so you can adjust depending on the strings and voltage. Maximum 4 batteries in series recommended ie 48v. We have the 48v with 12 batteries -3 strings.

Something else we worked on was conversion sizing from lead acid to lithium. Recommendations varies from 40 -50℅. For our installation so far we used 8 Valence Lithium in place of 6 200ah lead acid batteries and 12 Valence batteries in place of 12 200ah.
So far so good.

Please note all lithiums are not designed for off grid duty and can have shorter lifespans infact the austrailan test center doing rapid /acclelated testing has intereting results for even best brabds like Tesla or Samsung

Next one i get, I will see if I can get an inverter running at 360v eg Solax, then no need to take it apart.
Run both pv and dc at high voltage - more efficient.

Just got this Chevrolet Volt battery in.
16kwh total running at 360v.
Very heavy unit -over 200kg
Going to break it down to 48v and 24v units to use.

Has anyone had a successful RMA transaction for SMA equipment with SMA?

We have 3 SMA mini central 1100tl inverters being fed by 33kwp solar panels - 11kwp per inverter. There is also a cluster box and 3 sma SI 8.0H inverters. We have been having riso fault on 2 of the smc 1100 inverters and they refuse to lock. We have checked pc cables, connections etc. However, when we swap out the other two pv strings to the working inverter, there is no riso error again and the system works. It appears there is a problem with the smc inverters.

Complete System is about 2 years old and powers a hospital.

We reached out to Solarshop -where we bought the inverters and send an email as requested. Not even an acknowledgement email after a reminder.

SMA was better -SMA france has been handling the case and we have gotten an RMA - However, we have to send the bad equipment to Germany, then they will send the replacement to our freight forwarder in France.
For two inverters, we are finding it may cost us almost 800k shipping fees to send the 2 inverters and get back replacements.

Does anybody have any ideas to reduce this cost or have a reliable freight forwarder in France
Has any had a similar riso error on SMA inverters.

I found the PRAG manual and what I suspected was right - The Prag has built in support for Lithium .

So now I can use a battery with Cheap BMS - I found a reputable 10 KWH 48 V with 2000 Cycles battery at 3000 USD . now only to sort ouut the shipping


p.s. Can the house shed some light if the new Prag hybrid ( charger/inverter/MPPT) also support LfePo4 - Can be imporant when you want your investment to be futureproof
