The organization is just very useless to an average Igbo person. They don't even advance the course of the Igbos.

In this case, I think the landlord has every right to use the law and force an eviction.

For whatever reason the landlord has decided to evict the tenant, the safest option is to use the law.

The law has a plethora of provisions to address issues between landlords and tenants in every state of the federation.

I always advise landlords against selfhelp or the use of force because, technically, the law protects the tenant more.

For example, even when a tenant refuses to pay or vacate the apartment, he still enjoys the protection of the law, to the extent that the law forbids the landlord from forcefully ejecting the tenant or denying him access to the said apartment.

But when such landlord approaches the court and judgment is given in his favor, then the court will handle the eviction and such tenant may lose heavily.

There is no law like that. The tenant is grossly ignorant.

In fact, that person is no longer a lawful tenant if the rent has expired already. So, he or she is not even entitled to a notice to quit anymore.

A landlord does not need to tell you the reason he wants a tenant to leave. It's the prerogative of a landlord to decide who stays or leaves.

And the process is not as easy as you may be thinking.

Since the tenancy has been determined, such a person is now a tenant at will. And as such, notice to quit is no longer required.

The landlord will have to serve a 7 days owners intention to recover possession. After this, the landlord can now sue the tenant. Both parties will be held and the court will give a judgment.

Only the court of law can evict a tenant.
