I seem to like the two teams from Merceyside. We always find it a bit easy with them and at the same time, they fight with their lives when they play the likes of Citeh, Utd and Chelsea. Just clowning. Hoping for a good game tonight and the season finally kick starting. Tired of this Jekyll & Hyde performances from Arsenal |
The media frenzy over the non -inclusion of Theo Walcott and Bacary Sagna in the Arsenal Calendar in 2013 is ridiculous.I am with Arsenal on this... The two of them are yet to agree on a new deal and there is the possibility of them leaving next summer. Now,many fans were outraged when Junior Gunner membership packs were sent out in September, with Van Persie's picture on the front. Apparently, they must have been produced ahead of time, presumably before RVP went on the internet to relaese his now famous statement. Pray, Van Persie's picture is on the calendar for December 2012. The Calendar that has been so proudly displayed in my living room will come down on November 30,2012. I can't imagine seeing him in the red and white jersey when he has since departed from the club. The guys at Arsenal are just trying to be proactive and avoid unnecessary embarassment. |
You know what... Maybe Mark Hughes can apply for the Chelsea job after Benitez is sacked next week! |
Poldi's goal would rank as one of the best I have seen at the Emirates. Great technique! Not a vintage performance, but who cares Two goals, Three points, Clean sheet and qualification for the knockout stage. My highlight of yesterday however, was when, Mertasacker found himself in a centre forward position, and did a 'Messi'. The BFG at 6 ft 6 showed incredible footwork, waltzing past the defence and only to be denied at the death by a last ditch tackle by a Montpellier defender. Abeg , Mukina, if u have the footage, please help us post. |
@Mukina... Match would be coming up earlier..6.00pm |
You always relish a derby win. North London is red and will always be! Has anyone seen that video where Ade tried to get familiar with Sagna and Sagna shunned him and hugged Gallas instead? Maybe that was what was in Ade's head when he needlessly earned himself a red card for a dim-witted tackle on Cazorla! We have Montpellier on Wednesday! |
Schalke tonight! With the mounting injury concerns...What hope? |
Poor, Poor, Poor match What you can describe as a Limp Performance 1.) I can't wait for Kieran Gibbs to come back. 2.) TV5 should take a break...I can't imagine how many goals Arsenal have let in due to simple basic mistakes made by him. 3.)Can Arsenal let us know injury updates on Diaby and Rosicky?(looks like they are out for the season).I remember when we dropped out in the chase for Sahin, AW said we were 'overloaded' in the midfield...FFS(like he says) where are they? 4.)Can we just give Theodore Walcott what he wants,(can't be more than 100/week) and let's move on...(If not for the contract palaver, he would have started on saturday and given out of form Patrice Evra, lots to do) 5.)How I wish the AGM was yesterday, some of the supporters would have been arrested for physically assaulting the board. Just my Thoughts |
Van Persie scored 132 goals in 278 games for Wenger's side and the Frenchman hopes the travelling supporters will cut him some slack at Old Trafford. "I don't know [what reception he'll get but] I hope it is a respectful one because he has played for us for eight years, he has done very well for us," said Wenger. "You want him to be respected. We campaign against discrimination, it was still the case last week so why should it not be the case this week? I don't know [what the fans will do], I think he will get the reception I hope for. Is Arsene Wenger really serious, when he says these things, or like a 'father' that he is, he just wants to douse the athmosphere.... The away fans will let Robin know what he did on Saturday!!! Respect my a**. Did he think of respect when he released that stupid a** statement? |
Beaten by Norwich, thrashed at home by Schalke, scraped win v 10-man QPR, conceded 5 goals v Reading, Utd away on Saturday. Do the maths. So? Should we then ask the FA to postpone the game because of the inept form, we are in? It takes one match to regain your form...and O.T is possible. Left to me, they aren't even firing on all cylinders(ask the true United fans) Don't be deceived by last sunday's victory at Stamford Bridge...Chelsea with 9 men looked like scoring late in the game! My candid opinion:I haven't seen a SUPER team yet this season... |
I have to give myself a timeline to stop watching the Arsenal! I was so bitter when the 4th goal went in for Reading... However when Theo got his 1st... I just said : what the heck...let's see whether these boys would salvage some little pride in the 2nd half. When Giroud and Eisfeld came on, the game changed...we had more purpose in our attack 89th minute on the clock and it was 4-2 and I thought ...ok the scoreline wasnt as bad as 4-0... Koscielny scored the 3rd and wait a minute...this is still possible...Then Theo stepped up and 4-4....(Had gone madt by this time) Chamakh scored, the Big russian equalised and yet I still knew Arsenal would take this.... The little Russian ran the length of the field, shot towards goal..ball bubbled about and Theo rammed home his hatrick... They attempted equalising again until Chamakh finished it off. Like Wenger said it was a f****** miracle. |
Finally, we have some footie tomorrow. Hurray! Bring on Norwich |

Okay Gooners...Let's spice this place up. Answer the questions below and win a plot of land somewhere in Lekki(no googling) 1.)Which Arsenal player was spotted in a public bus in London recently? 2.)Which Arsenal player is referred to as the 'BFG'? 3.)Who is the only Liberian national to have played for the Arsenal? 4.)Which Arsenal player made this statement on twitter after an Arsenal game "Good win gays" instaed of '"Good win guys" and this spelling mistake resulted in a barrage of abuse....The player is still teased about this mistake till today. 5.)The summer of 2008 was a strange one for Arsenal.Flamini, Lehmann,Hleb and Silva left and we signed Na$ri and Ramsey.Apart from Silvestre, who was the other rather bizarre signing Arsene Wenger made? BTW...The cost of filling the land at Lekki is more than the market value of the land ![]() |

and John Obi mikel scores for Nigeria |
For once, mikel is not being played in an advanced midfield role for the Super Eagles |
Also heard that about 6 of the starting 11 yesterday, only declared themselves fit a few hours before yesterday's game... Can this explain some of the slapdash displays we have been seeing lately? Enemies all around... |
From the internet... Is there a bug going around the Arsenal training ground? Per Mertesacker was missing with a mystery illness - the fourth player in the past month to fall ill. Theo Walcott was sent home from international duty in early September with a vomiting virus. Vermaelen only returned to the side last weekend after recovering from a bug and Francis Coquelin made his comeback from illness on Tuesday night |
On to tonight's game against Olympiacos.. Looking forward to seeing Gnabry get some game time...hopefully, we will have a comfortable lead by the time he comes in. COYG |

(Culled from Dailymail) Chelsea have called in police after six wallets, nine mobile phones and several watches were stolen from staff and players at the training ground in yet another amazing security breach at the club. The thefts, which took place earlier this month, were discovered when the players returned to the changing room after training at their Cobham base in Surrey. It is the latest serious incident at the training ground this year and has caused disruption and anger amongst the players affected. Earlier this year a knife was discovered in the dressing room at the club’s academy. The club claimed it had been mislaid by a workman. Chelsea fired academy starlet Jacob Mellis after he caused a full-scale evacuation of the training complex by letting off a smoke bomb. On top of that, three of Chelsea’s staff damaged the European Cup while posing for unauthorised pictures with the trophy won in a thrilling final against Bayern Munich last May. Players are now demanding to know how their possessions could have been taken during an hour-and-a-half training session. A club spokesman said: ‘A number of personal items were recently stolen from the academy dressing room area. The matter is currently being investigated by the police. CCTV footage is being handed to them and confirms the thefts were carried out by a lone intruder not connected with the training ground site. ‘Other local premises near to the training ground were targeted that day and may be connected. Nobody at Chelsea FC is under suspicion.’ Although Chelsea insist the thefts are not an inside job, police have yet to make an arrest after they were called in last week. This is the first time police have been called to the training ground about alleged thefts, but there have been various disturbing reports involving players’ personal effects this year Players have frequently complained about cash going missing from their changing room but there has never been any proof of theft. Chelsea are convinced the crimes have been committed by an opportunist thief walking into the training ground. Police are studying CCTV footage of the facility. On Tuesday night, Chelsea said the thefts did not involve the first-team dressing room, but the identities of the victims have not been revealed. Hmmmnnnn |
