Ibime: Chelsea's gas and electricity bill for Cobham and The Bridge should top £2m a year. From the understanding of this deal, Gazprom are supplying this for free and using their deal with Chelsea as a springboard to tap into UK market which they only entered few years ago. Its not like they're sponsoring the shirt or stadium or nothing, so this deal should be worth circa £2m per annum only. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
@4llerbuntu, What's wrong with Afellay? Or you want to judge him soleley based on his performance at the Euros(damn, no Dutch player should be on sale for more than 500k based on the Euros). I still think if we plan to sell, let's do so before the weekend, so we'll know where we need to shore up(no point keeping an unhappy player). I prefer what's happenning this summer, unlike the last one , when Fabregas and Nasri issue dragged on and on. This is mid-July...plenty of time |
In other Arsenal news....Carlos Vela has joined Real Sociedad from Arsenal. |
He should not be sold - offer him a competitive new deal and let's progress@Debosky But they have offered him a new deal, but dude wants 100k/week. It's not even on the back of what you can describe as a fantastic season! Theo has been with us since January 2006, this is July 2012....I don't need to tell Mr Theo Walcott's story. If someone is ready to bring 15-20m for him in the last year of his contract, I say SELL....only that Kroenke and co will look for a cheaper alternative. |
chuckdee4: Good luck to him, personally i'lld cash in on him and invest the cash on a more reliable, consistent wingerIf only Theo knew many Arsenal fans would pay and tip the cab man that will take him to the Airport. Not worried at all that Theo is leaving, hope some maga pay good cash and we reinvest in the squad |
Mr/Miss Moderator, E se pupo. God bless you |
Mr/Miss Moderator, Please can you take down these senseless photographs? This is the Arsenal thread and we don't condone rubbish being posted. Mr 'I used to be a Gunner, but I am now prostituting all over the place' can create a thread to further his imbelistic ideologies. Kindly sanitise this place. Thank you |
Depressing! |
4llerbuntu: Not bad at all.Bros, don't diss my nigga, that same mosquito left leg put in that tackle at the Hawthornes in the dying minutes which was the difference between playing CL footie and playing Europa on Thursday nights. ![]() |
Apparently, prospective buyers are being put off by the high wages these 'fringe' players earn.
Sad, but true! |
In other news....SSN says Arsenal are after an egyptian left back called Islam Ramadan alias Milo ![]() ![]() Walahi, I thought it was a joke at first. Na wa ooooh ![]() |
debosky: Not true. . . .Henry signed his last deal with us at the end of the 05/06 season - our last at Highbury. My bad, ok let's agree Henry was probably the only exception. Meanwhile, comments from RVP back in the days are surfacing all over the net. This one was in 2007 when reacting to a comment Freddie made. It got me laughing Arsenal forward Robin van Persie has described former team-mate Freddie Ljungberg's recent criticism of the Gunners as "a bit weak". Ljungberg accused Arsenal of lacking ambition in the wake of his move to West Ham, citing the departure of Thierry Henry and van Persie admits his comments were not well received in the Emirates Stadium dressing room. "If you play nine years at a club like Arsenal you can say some nice words," he told the News of the World. If you're coming up with excuses about Thierry's departure and about promises from the club it's a bit weak." The Dutchman added: "I was disappointed and I know a few others were as well. He had a fantastic period, he was once the best player in England, so come on and say some nice things for this club, which is fantastic."

|
edoyad: Me too o. What's the fuss about ? Soldiers come , soldiers go , Barracks Continue. Henry left, Adebayor Left, somebody must continue the trend na. Ade's departure was the worst considering we didn't really enjoy him for long before he started acting up.Like I have said earlier, I knew RVP won't sign any new deal right from when he refused the the first deal on offer. These things follow a particular pattern.Once an Arsenal player says...'let's talk about a new deal when the season ends'.....na lie...he's not signing anything. Sell RVP before the week runs out and let's move on. No EPL team though. If we can't get a buyer, tell dude that he will honour his contract till next year and pay him his wages while he trains with the reserves! We will have a proper pre season with Giroud and Poldoski and RVP/Usmanov talks shouldn't stop our 2012/2013 season plans. What's the guarantee'sef' that if RVP should do a u-turn and accept our 3 year deal of 130,000/week offer, he won't get injured in pre season and be out for 2/3 of the entire 3 year deal or 1 season of being fit means all his injury worries are over? |
naijababe: Disagree o head nucca, it was completely different for the guys in your post for the following reasons:@Proudly9ja, As much as RvP had the right to air what 90% of us know about the club and have been telling the useless board, the timing was wrong and me thinks if you say it as a player, then you are insulting the entire club. Talking about shifts,I think one reason why fans are bitter is that RvP had been injured for half the time, he's been at Arsenal and they feel he owes them. Just one fantastic season without injuries should not be enough to declare 'Arsenal don't match my ambitions'. Remember all those seasons, when Bendtner alone had to lead the attack or Eduardo and we missed out on the title push Leave that matter about money,RvP wants to win trophies...and also a hefty pay rise...if he wants trophies alone, i suggest he should go up north to celtic, now that Rangers are outta the way, he would win for the next 10 years..lol |
Talking about classy and claseless. I have said earlier, no one is saying Robin must play for Arsenal forever! He can go wherever he wants.....but leave the club quietly. He didn't have to make a crazy, lengthy statement about what 90% of us already knew. Henry,Vieira,Pires all left even though they had similar grudges with the club. That's why their names are still chanted up till today at the emirates(Henry even came back to play for us).. . . |
BTW Rumours have it that RvP is surprised by the backlash the famous statement has caused. Dude, what were you thinking! Season of theories. Heard barca wanna offload villa to fund RvP purchase. Now villa, Rvp swap looks tasty |
Imo, Arsenal are at crossroads concerning RvP The 1st option of letting him run down is contract should be it.Afterall, the 'koko' of the statement was that he was not signing a new contract, not that he would not play for Arsenal any more. But what do you do? Let him continue wearing the captain's arm band after all he said or banish him to the reserves, afterall, we have bought replacements OR 2nd option-sell him and another player, at the back of another good season, pulls this same stunt next year? Really, Arsenal FC have a decision to make! |
@Proudly9ja, I would suggest making Abou Diaby captain, at least 75% of the season, he will be with the medical team ![]() But............. wait a minute oooh He could become fit this season and score 25+ goals from midfield position and suddenly tell us Arsenal do not match his ambitions and insist on a transfer!!!! Is it possible not to have a captain at all ![]() ![]() ![]() |
@4llerbuntu, Giroud and Podolski paid tributes to their club while departing. |
As far as I am concerned, I have been expecting THIS. After the Flamini episode, when we delayed contract negotiations. . .Arsenal have since then, tabled offers quickly enough. Now, all that 'let's talk about it at the end of the season'is balderdash. What i believe is that the players have already made up their mind about where they will be playing their football the next season, but out of respect and not for rumours to be making rounds, they deflect questions about signing new contracts. The Arsenal fans,I must say, have a special relationship with their players and songs/banners about them are clever, witty and beautiful. Even RVP admitted this...chants of 'Robin van Persie' all over the emirates...made him 'coolu' temper when he wanted to assault Tom Krul(Newcastle goalie). Even Adebayor loved the Adebayor song(at least, it's one of the reason why he said he started underperforming) IMO, players can come and go, I support the club and not the manager or the players, but please. . . do leave quietly and dont make crazy silly statements. That official statement could have been crafted better than that.He ended up making too many enemies! Like Debo said, we all thought RVP had more class than that. |
Robin gone.... I am not in any way surprised. I had always thought if he was gonna sign, he would have signed in January. . . . When he came back to do his special appreciation to the crowd at the Hawthornes on the last day of the season,I just knew dude was leaving. Well, wish him luck in his new Quest and Thanks for all the lovely memories! |
