coogar: where did you read fergie was angry? were you at oldMaybe angry isn't the right word...well he certainly wasn't happy ![]() 'Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we're aware,' Ferguson told the club’s in-house TV station MUTV. 'It's a bit disappointing because I don’t think he showed us any respect at all. 'To be honest, if they carry on that way, I'm quite happy that he's away from me anyway.' |
vicoloni: Can someone kindly shed more light on his accomplishments. Thanks.RIP Sam Ojebode. For some of us who are hard core Shooting Stars fan, Sam Ojebode was a legend. He was the captain of IICC for a long time and also deputised for Christian Chukwu in the late 70,s in the Green Eagles. I didn't watch him play live, but I have watched a lot of videos of him in 'Sutin's' jersey. I heard he was ill and was on admission a few weeks back. So sad The soccer fraternity has lost another legend just after Rashidi Yekini's demise. |
Just wondering why Fergie is very angry that Pogba left For me, I just think once players have refused to sign the new contract on the table, there is a 90% chance that they are on their way out. |
debosky: @ HNICOr we should do a straight swap..... Almunia for Buffon ![]() |
Rumour has it that Juventus offered 8 million pounds for the services of Robin Van Persie Now I think i know how it feels when Arsene starts bidding peanuts for a player in the last year of his contract! ![]() Anyways, I would rather Arsenal let RVP play with the reseves for one more year and go for free than leave for 8m. If the rumour is true, then let's also make a bid of 500k for Pirlo ![]() |

@1025, Bros, You are too jumpy. . . Please, I am trying as much as possible to restrain myself because I have good friends who are chelsea fans also. @adetayo said we havent won anything in 7 seasons, that Chelsea had won 9 trophies in that period. Arsenal last won in 2005. Now please do the motherf**** math and get back to me! Formula:Please calculate from 2005/2006 season and not from 2003...thank you and your talk about Arsenal being older than Chelski abegi look at the statistics of your success....50 years...no league trophy .Ok sorry, you won league trophy in division 2 |
Okay, today is June 30.... meaning it's the last day for some players in the club. Arsenal say goodbye to Yossi Benayoun.(on loan from chelsea) He didn't play a lot but the few times he played, he gave everything,(can't forget the winner at villa and the 1st goal at the Hawthornes) wish him well in his future club. Another one leaving is Manuel Almunia(vanilla Ice )A few world class performances in between, can't forget Utd vs Arsenal:CL semi finals 08/09 and 07/08 season when he was voted Arsenal's 3rd best player by fans. He fell down the pecking order and thought he should have left the club a long time ago.Au revoir Manuel. Podolski,Giroud, who next Arsene ? |
1025: @HNIC,@1025, Henry, vieira and fabregas left the club when they were captains. For the records, Robin van Persie is still an Arsenal player. Kolo Toure was never a captain, he was deputising....and gallas did not leave Arsenal when he was the captain. No big deal about captains wanting to leave the club, they can't play for us forever. like I said earlier it's you guys from opposition clubs that keep ranting about the club. The club ain't won anything since 2005 yet the number of fans keep rising...I think thats where other fans are worried |
Adetayo100: Every Arsenal fan is a manager in Nigeria they know how to assemble a team. They make mouth pass anything. They said chelsea plays rugby tatics, spend unwisely, overpay average players. But in the space of the 7-8 yrs arsenal has gone trophyless we have won 9 trophies including the champions league last season; a trophy Arsenal won't win for the next 50yrs. If Arsenal was a succesfull club (trophy) for the past 8 yrs, opposite fans won't be allowed to voice their opinions or walk freelyDude, slow down count the 9 trophies you have won since Arsenal last won a trophy!!!! You wan steal am? abi u sef dey count community shield like mourinho? After you have done the little math. . . google how many trophies chelsea have won since inception and compare with Arsenal! |
@nolongtin Bros, you have to chill a bit when arguing with these guys. There is nothing I haven't heard on Nairaland. Where they get these fake/illogical gists from,I don't know |
abbey621: Another insane Arsenal fan! Torres sold more jerseys than any of your current player last season. He scored goals when it mattered last season, all your self-proclaimed greats could not win you a single trophy and yet you have the guts to open mouth, thunder fire you!@abbey621, as much as this is a public forum where one can air any opinion, some definitely will have to be backed up by facts. How can you say Fernando Torres sold more jerseys than any of Arsenal's current players last season.? Come on dude....reduce the chauvinistic outbursts! |
BizBooks: I agree, Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure should be mentioned. But Wiltord, Pires and AnelkaHahahahaha Vieira signed for Arsenal long before Wiltord, Pires and Anelka, so i don't understand you saying 'they are from so long ago, that they are now ancient history'. And only newbies who just started following the EPL remember anelka more at chelsea than arsenal. That europa thing no dey tire you guys? You have been singing europa since 2007, even last season when we started the season like a snail, we still qualified for CL |
debosky: We did have problems scoring goals - in a few games we didn't have any 'plan B' when our plan A struggled - we'd chuck on Chamakh and he'd be ineffective and not give any end product because he wasn't confident.Well said Debo You echoed my thoughts when I was debating with a fellow gooner earlier The problem now is...which experienced goalie is available that will be willing to serve as back up to WS13? |
BizBooks: No, no. Though I know more about them than many of their fans.@Bizbooks, Watch what you say...my guy... A true fan(like moi)would not forgive you for not knowing Paddy's first name and calling him Christian Viera(surname is Vieira). Also, you reeled out Arsenal players of French origin and the only ex players mentioned were Henry,Paddy,Clichy and Nasri How about Eboue, Wiltord, Pires,Anelka, Grimandi,Toure,Lauren ?etc. |
@1025 SMH... |
@1025, What nateevs is saying is that England allowed Italy so much time on the ball that one would have thought the Italians were the Spanish national team. He was not, in any way, equating Italy with Spain. @Nateevs, You sef, your oyinbo too much. Write the one wey evryone go fit understand ![]() |

1025: @HNIC,@1025, You make me laugh. . . Where were you when Man citeh flirted with John Terry and he almost left the club. Or when Mourinho 'seduced' Gerrard and he almost left Liverpool. Talking of loyalty, ever heard of Tony Adams of Arsenal? Not diverting from the original post. Fans will dislike a player if you bring their darling club's name to disrepute. Arsenal's cases are always overblown! |
chelseabmw: Another flop.........but I think I like the guy personally...I want arsenal to win but manchester clubs next season....but why is arsenal always buying french players? Is Podolski French? Take it back to last season. . .I am sure Oxlade Chamberlain,Gervinho,Mertesacker,Santos, Park and Arteta are not French players. |
Olivier is a Gunner!
|
dayokanu: So Mata, Cahill shouldn't celebrate the CL triumph because he didn't help qualify Chelsea for top 4You will never change. Wrong analogy It's like Hazard or Moses(If he's signed) winning World club cup or Supercup with Chelsea.... How about that? |
The prejudice in this article is so clear for all to see. Pray, Did Craig Bellamy insult Citeh fans when he left the club or Did SWP do same? What of other Arsenal players who left the club and are cheered whenever they come around. The writer only pointed out Nasri and Adebayor who insulted the fans and the club after they left. It's not arrogance at all. Other clubs have booed ex players before, after they departed the club. Spuddies will never forgive Campbell for leaving them for Arsenal and even after he left Arsenal, he was still booed. Same for Chelsea fans who constantly booed Gallas when he left Chelsea for Arsenal. Fans are the same...everywhere,except people go 'ga-ga' when it is the Arsenal |
1025: @HNIC,@1025, Don't take my response to someone's post out of Context. He said Fabregas has won stuff since he left Arsenal and I am only telling you that he is yet to win. Fans hating on a player or liking him depends on the circumstances under which you depart a club. What you say after you leave the club also matters to the fans. Players like Adebayor, Flamini and Nasri left with a sour taste in the mouth and blabbed rubbish after leaving..and thats why they got roundly booed whenever they come to town...but let's flip the script Eduardo burst into tears after Arsenal fans cheered him throughout and gave him a standing ovation after the match, on his return to Emirates. Kolo Toure has never been booed by Arsenal fans since he left despite playing for 'Kuwait' citeh. A section of the crowd used to chant Kanu's name anytime we played against his team. Leave with some dignity and don't say sh**(afterall you cannot play for Arsenal forever) Pray, tell me why Gallas was always boooed roundly whenever he lined up for Arsenal against Chelsea! |

The Frenchies are awake now! |
super free kick from cabaye |
biolabee: the french hv neva been united since zidane leftThats a known fact. It's even worse than the dutch. How can a team threten to go on strike during the world cup? |
how does a national team have Alonso, xavi,Iniesta and cesc all playing for them at the same time? |
dayokanu: Fabregas won the UEFA Super cup, he won the World club cup, Did he also win those at Arsenal?Hehehehe Those cups are what...... It would have made sense if Fabregas was part of the team that won the CL with Barca and then went on to win those cups.... but my friend, he wasn't.... |
Strange Summer AW is actually talking about signing players in June. He has confirmed that Giroud's deal is 90% done. Now, we need reinforcement, esp in DM position, a second goalie to push WS13, and another defender |
![]() dayokanu: Hleb won a trophy, Flamini won a trophy, Nasri won, Clichy won, Fabregas won.Clichy won the EPL and FA cup with Arsenal, Fabregas won the FA cup as well...so what has Fabregas won with Barca yet and don't start counting Spanish football's equivalent of Community shield, or I will tell you Fab won that as well and shebi Gallas has won with Spuds abi |
