Catholic Archbishop, Cardinal Bunmi Okogie Speaks On Oyakhilomes’ Divorce Case www.www.nairaland.com/1892248/catholic-archbishop-cardinal-bunmi-okogie |
by Emeka Asinugo Our dear Anita: I am addressing this letter to you because I know it's you who hold the key to triumph over the challenges that have recently raised their ugly heads in your family and in your ministry. I am convinced that even if you don't read this letter directly from me, some of the numerous members of Christ Embassy across the globe could read it and draw your attention to the words of an old man who is pretty much in the same calling as you and your husband are. I am writing this from my home: The Vicarage, St. Matthew's Church of England, Stratford, E15 4JX, where my wife, Christy is the Vicar, and the co-ordinating Chaplain of Westfield, Stratford City. We were all taken aback when we read about your intention to file for a divorce against your husband, Pastor Chris. It was a scandal, Anita, and you must not let it happen. I need not tell you that in today's world, many factors tend to get in the way of successful marriages. It is, therefore, practically impossible to recommend a general panacea for all the troubles that can hamper the success of any marriage. But in all our travails, as Christians, we must bear in mind the fact that in a very profound sense, marriage is the most intimate of human relationships, involving sharing a person's entire life with his or her spouse. By its very nature which emphasizes conjugal love, the institution of marriage is ordained for procreation and for the ultimate education of children who come from such marriages. It calls for self-surrender to the other spouse, a surrender that is so intimate and complete that spouses become "one," not only in body, but also in soul, without necessarily losing their individual identities... As the servants of God, you must ask yourselves where the ultimate education of your children comes into this divorce prompting. If this divorce actually takes place, how would your daughters who you are preparing to become future leaders in the church and mothers in the family feel, knowing they come from a broken home? And how do your numerous followers interpret your individual identity with reference to your commitment to family and church? There is an African adage that says: there is no age when a man can say: 'I have known it all'. That adage also applies to the institution of marriage. No one can claim to know all there is in that human relationship called marriage. It is a university. Those in it learn by the day from it. And most times, the lessons come in different shapes, culminating in various experiences. As a result, the marital experiences of people actually differ one from another, depending on circumstances and such factors as upbringing, environmental pressure and work demands. In all of these, no one can claim to have a ready answer to all the myriads of problems that couples face daily in their marriage relationships. It is even more complicated these days when people marry for various reasons that can range from legal, social, emotional and economic needs to spiritual stability or upliftment. But no matter the reason a couple gets married in the first place, the demands of marriage remain ultimate and constant. Husband and wife must have a unity of purpose in all their undertakings. In short, they must be seen as, and remain, "an item" in the eyes of their society. Many of your admirers across the globe want to believe that work pressure, which is pressure from those you work with or think you are working with, is responsible for this undesirable development of you, Anita, filing for a divorce against Chris. The truth they want to believe is that not only has Satan attended service at Christ Embassy, just as he attends services in all churches that are reputed to be doing well, he is waiting to receive Holy Communion! He has penetrated your ministry and is using your work force to direct you. That is the challenge. Don't forget that God allowed Satan to sift the quality of those who profess to worship Him. God cannot be mocked. If Satan wins this battle, then God was never in your Ministry in the first place. Your millions of admirers across the globe will be greatly disappointed but they will not make any mistake about the truth. You sure must know that your admirers, even from other Christian denominations are in their millions. Many of them look up to you as their role model. Think again. Must you let them down? Is this idea of divorcing Chris so binding? Think about it again. Is this not selfishness? Here in England, many homes break up, with their families torn apart. But when you look at the situation closely, you find that selfishness on the part of one of the spouses was the fundamental reason the family broke up. Should that be the testimony of your Ministry? Would you allow material things like money or alleged sexual indulgence destroy your Ministry and make a mockery of all you have invested into it? To remain married, spouses must be ready for a long-term commitment in every conceivable respect, financially, emotionally and in terms of maturity and ageing. Having said this much, I would like to quickly point out that there are many things about marriages, especially among Christian Families that are often taken for granted. One of them is the sacrosanct promise publicly recited by couples in front of their witnesses, and in front of God. They usually vow to love, cherish and respect each other "until death do us part!" Think about the admonition God gave Adam in the Holy Book. Adam and his wife Eve were the first recorded couple on earth, according to our Christian belief. God created the Garden of Eden for them, with all the glamour and beauty that the scenic environment portrayed, just as He has prospered Christ Embassy. |

The Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, has described the recent matrimonial debacle involving Nigeria's charismatic preacher and founder of Believers Love World, a.k.a. Christ Embassy, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome - as very disturbing, arguing that when ministers of God begin to wash their dirty linen in the public, it smacks of indiscipline. According to the ecclesiastical prince of the Catholic Church, when pastors refuse to honour the vows they took at the altar of God, what do they expect from the ordinary members of their congregation?Okogie told Vanguard: "When the going was good, they took vows on the altar of God to stay together in sickness and in health, until death do them part. They promise to make one another faithful partner in the presence of God, their family and friends and vow to be each other's faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. They promise to love one another unconditionally, to support each other, honor and respect and cherish themselves for as long as they both shall live," The cardinal argued that as soon as little challenges arise, the so-called pastors forget the vow and the spirit of forgiveness they preach to their congregations on daily basis and opt for divorce. "It shows that they cannot live by what they preach. The Bible says: 'What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.' So why are they putting asunder what the good Lord has joined together if they are men of God as they claim?" Asked what the development portrays for the Church of God, the cardinal replied with a question "What Church are you talking about?" He went on: "It is not good. Are they true pastors? Good shepherds of the Lord are expected to do everything to shepherd their flock including their spouses even when they err. If God forgave us in spite of our filth, why can any man who is truly called pastor not forgive any malfeasance?" Okogie blamed the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, which registers every organization which goes about deceiving people in the name of church, noting that there are several "useless" institutions that have been registered churches which are currently painting the Church of God in bad light. www.locogist..nl/2014/09/catholic-archbishop-cardinal-bunmi.html?m=1 |

The Holy Book mentions that husband and wife explored the Garden naked. They were not ashamed of their unclothedness. They must have been as innocent as a newly born child. That was how God wanted them to be – innocent. God specifically told Adam not to eat of the forbidden fruit in the centre of the Garden of Eden. God told him: "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat; for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die." The serpent, described in the Holy Book as "more cunning than any beast of the field that the Lord had made" prevailed on Eve and she convinced her husband to disobey God and eat of the forbidden fruit. But Adam lived for many more years before his physical demise. It means that God was not talking about the physical death of Adam. God meant that Adam would die spiritually. Adam's spiritual death was not interpreted at the time God told him he would die if he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. No one knew the mind of God when He spoke to Adam about the tree. But God's decree happened. The spiritual death of Adam and his wife ushered sin and death into the world. For disobeying God, Adam died spiritually and his death distanced him and his wife from God. By the same token, modern marriages can die spiritually. When husband and wife fail to upkeep their vow to cherish, love and respect each other; when selfishness and the desire to be the one left standing at the end of the day is inadvertently at the centre of their relationship; when the ill-conceived advice of "frienemies" (half friends and half enemies) holds sway in their marriage, that union is doomed to spiritual death. The couple will be separated from each other, just as Adam was separated from God. The couple may still be living together as Adam and Eve continued to live in the Garden of Eden. But in the spirit, they have been disconnected from God who brought them together initially. Yes. Even the Elders and Pastors of Christ Embassy are not free from all this. They too have a case to answer. No Christian marriage can simply crash without series of warnings. And we make haste to ask: where were the Elders and other Pastors of Christ Embassy when this entire trouble started? Where were they when it continued and when it was allowed to escalate to this world-wide level? Where were they? What did they observe? What was revealed to them, even in their prayers? And what did they do to salvage the ugly incident that was coming on to daint the image of Christ Embassy? Anita and Chris, you must surely know that the devil is at work in your Ministry. You must not let this happen. Millions of your admirers out there will be very disappointed. Don't listen to those frienemies of yours who are pretending to advise you genuinely, because they are not. You are beautiful, Anita. Chris is handsome. And I am sure this combination of beauty and brain is what has attracted so many people to you and to your ministry. Call Chris to prayer over this challenge, and withdraw the suit from court. That is what all your admirers feel you should do. Don't allow money or things of the flesh to come between you and the love of God expressed in you as a great woman of God. Pastor Benny Hinn had this temptation. The devil set a booby trap for him. His family was tearing apart. But he overcame the gripping power of the Evil One. He triumphed. And today that testimony stands strong in his favour and profile. The world is watching, hoping that you prove who you really have been. Your children are waiting, not to be stigmatised with the label of children who came from a broken home. Christians all over the world are praying that as a great woman of God, God Himself will reveal the future of this divorce road you appear to have followed to you, Anita. And we all believe that you will triumph over this period and live to give testimony of God's goodness in your life. Paul is advising you in Ephesians 6:10 to be "strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full amour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggles are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground." Paul himself summarises this challenge that seems to be rocking your family and ministry in 2 Corinthians 6: 3-10: "We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that your ministry will not be discredited. Rather as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance, in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonour, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, yet possessing everything." |
A niece of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Kikelomo Anubi (pictured above) who is 64 years old, is currently expecting her first child after being married for 28years. Mrs Anubi, whose Ghanaian husband just returned home after leaving her for 6 years, spoke to City People magazine about being an expectant mother at such an old age "I am pregnant and permit me to tell you that by next year when I have my baby I will be 65. I have been married for 28 years. It may amaze you that I got pregnant in a natural way. I didn't do IVF. I have done IVF before at a popular hospital on the island and it failed. In fact, an uncle of mine who is a top shot paid for it. I almost lost my life but God intervened". she said. Asked how she is related to the former President, Mrs Anubi said; "He is my Uncle and somebody I respect so much. My mum is his elder sister and if you look at my face, you will see the resemblance. I am also from Owu" she said. Thanks 2 www.locogist..nl/ |
It is no longer how the dreaded disease got to P/H but why a Consultant could be this unprofessional. The sequence of events is as follows: One of those who had contact with Sawyer escaped to P:H and checked into a hotel. When he fell ill, the first hospital he went to declined him treatment suspecting Ebola. First mistake. Why was a report not made? He eventually got a Consultant with UPTH and also runs a private hospital who accepted to treat him, but only in his hotel room. He kept going to treat thin in the hotel until he too contracted the EVD. Within this period he was treating this patient, he was still consulting at the UPTH and his private clinic. He lived with his family that includes a 2 week old baby. The wife is already down with EVD. When the doctor went down, he did not go to the UPTH but got himself admitted to a friend's clinic where he was being managed until he died. Have you followed this trail? Index case from Lagos - hotel - first hospital where he was refused - doctor who accepted to treat him - hotel where he was treated - Consultant who was still consulting in UPTH and his private clinic - His family and their contacts - his friend' clinic where he died. The index case's driver is still not found and may have been in his village. How many people has he had contact with? Meanwhile, at the point of the doctor's death, no alarm bell had rang in P/H about the presence of EVD. His corpse was deposited in UPTH mortuary and it was the autopsy here that indicated EVD. How do you trace the journey of this P/ H out break? Its so complicated and tortuous. Have some of these contacts not traveled out of P/H and mingling with people all over Nigeria? Spare a thought and prayer for Nigeria our country. God save Nigeria |
Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa on Friday appointed former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the pioneer Chancellor of the newly established Jigawa State University in Kafin Hausa. The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Haruna Wakili, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse. Wakili said the State Government had sent a delegation to present the appointment letter to the former President at his country home in Abeokuta. He explained that the appointment was based on Section 8 of the Jigawa State University Law, 2013. Wakil said that Section 2 of the Second Schedule of the law also supported the appointment. The two sections, he said, vested on the Visitor of the University the powers to appoint Chancellor for the institution. He added that extensive consultation was made before reaching the decision to appoint Obasanjo as the pioneer chancellor of the university. "The government arrived at the decision after due consideration of his immense contributions to the making of modern Nigeria; as former military head of state and two terms democratically elected President. "Obasanjo is an internationally recognised and respected elder statesman and indeed an eminent personality of proven integrity who served his country to the peak, diligently, selflessly and sincerely," he said. The commissioner stated that he was part of the delegation that presented the letter to the former president. "I am therefore glad to inform you that the former President had accepted the appointment and assured the governor and people of Jigawa ofhis readiness to serve. "He also promised to do all that was possible to take the university to a greater height. www.locogist..nl/2014/08/olusegun-obasanjo-now-chancellor-of.html?m=1 |

Information coming in from Borno State in northern Nigeria suggest that the Boko Haram insurgents might be changing their base from the Sambisa forest moving towards southern Borno. According to a report published by Sahara Reporters yesterday, Wednesday, 27 August, 2014, residentsliving near Sambisa forest in Borno State have reported seeing a large number of Boko Haram militants leaving the thick forest Tuesday's morning and moving towards southern Borno. It was gathered that a security source also confirmed the account of the villagers. The source informed that Nigeria's intelligence agents were aware that members of the Islamist sect, who had been holed up in Sambisa forest, seemed to be relocating to the large territories they have captured in their recent attacks. He added that the insurgents' relocation is most likely motivated by the sect's recent successes in capturing several major towns in northern Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States. According to some villagers, who claimed to witness the militants' relocation, the insurgents had been moving their families and possibly many of their abductees to safer grounds in towns captured in recent weeks. A villager in Kirawa, a town on the Cameroonian side, also said he had seen some suspected Boko Haram militants moving through Cameroonian territory to Nigeria with large amounts of cargo in tightly secured convoys. Many people believe the alleged relocation of the insurgents may be as a result of about 480 Nigerian soldiers who fled to neighboring Cameroon some days ago in order to escape from a fierce contingent of Boko Haram militants that attacked Gamboru-Ngala, a major town near the border with Cameroon. It was reported after the incident that the militants easily seized the town, and hoisted their flags at a police station and the home of a former governor, Ali Modu Sheriff. It was reported that the fleeing soldiers, who ran away with civilians, left behind four armored personnel carriers (APCs) and a huge cache of arms that the militants have taken. Only on Tuesday, the absconding soldiers were repatriated to Nigeria by the Cameroonian authorities. Meanwhile, many villagers that were displaced because of the heavy fighting Gamboru-Ngala are still trapped in Fotocol, a small town near Ngala. At least, 10, 000 people have lost their lives while tens of thousands of others have been internally displaced from their communities in northeastern Nigeria due to Boko Haram insurgency since 2009. The leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau, who has been blacklisted as a terrorist by the United Nations, UN, on Monday released a video where he declared Gwoza town, in Borno state as an Islamic Caliphate. The Nigerian military had since dismissed Shekau's claim, saying Nigeria remains one indivisible republic. Source: www.locogist..nl/2014/08/boko-haram-relocate-from-sambisa.html?m=1 |

He was a son, a friend, and most importantly a human being… It was a sad day for the Ferguson, Missouri community and most importantly African- Americans and blacks all over the world, when it was announced that 18 year old unarmed Michael Brown was gunned down by a police officer. The fatal shooting drew comparisons to the death of Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant, both young black men. After so much protests and a national debate on where race stands in America, Michael was laid to rest Yesterday Monday 25th August 2014 at the Friendly Temple, Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. At the funeral service, mourners sang, clapped and danced, remembering the teen. His body was in a black and gold casket, topped with the St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap he was wearing when he was killed on the 9th of August. We did not know you Michael Brown, but all we can say with sadness in our hearts is rest in perfect peace.

Why you must drink Urine? www.nairaland.com/1868615/health-benefit-drinking-urine |
• Many years ago,my attention was drawn to a young boy of eighteen, lucky by name. Lucky lived in Warri with is elder brother. He suddenly became very sick and was taken to the hospital. After series of medications, Lucky got better and was discharged from hospital. • After three weeks,Lucky's hands,Legs, belly and face became swollen again, so swollen that he was literally bloated. His swollen legs became as hard as rock. His penis shrank. His belly became pregnant with fluid.Lucky could no longer urinate and could hardly walk. The doctor took a long look at Lucky and then at his laboratory it was concluded that nothing more could be done for lucky. Lucky had Cancer of Liver and Kidney failure. Lucky's end was near at hand. • That was the situation when i met Lucky. He was brought back home to die peacefully. I consulted my 'orthodox' doctor friends, and they assured me that Lucky could be cured if i prayed Fervently for Miraclr. So i did,but not exactly in the way they imagined. • One morning, I called Lucky's mother and in the presence of Lucky, explained to her the kind of treatment that Lucky would undergo. I said: As From today, Lucky would not taste any food, solid or Soft. All he will take is water and his own Urine. Every day, starting From today,He will collect any Urine That he passes in a Cup and drink it immediately. He will also collect about 2 litres of the same in a bowl, which you will rub on his body every morning and night. • Lucky's mother did not quite understand what i was up to, but suppose in a hopeless situation,One will be ready to attempt anything in order to stay alive. So the trearment began. Every morning as soon as he woke up from sleep,Lucky would drink two litres of lukewarm water and any urine stored in a bowl the previous day. I would deep my two palms in the urine and begin to rub Lucky's body with it. From head to toe. This would continue for one hour. the. Same thing would be repeated each evening. So it went on for Four weeks no food, no fruit Only urine and water. • AT the end of the Four weeks, Lucky's body was back to its normal size. All the swelling were gone and he was able to walk freely about, despite the fact that he did not eat for five weeks. I examined Lucky Very well and urged him to continue the fast. So he continued for another four weeks So no food & fruits, only water and Urine. At the end of the Second Four weeks, Lucky was looking like a Ten year-old boy ; Fresh,healthy- looking and glowing with beauty. I sent him back to Hospital for Medical Examination, and was confirmed healthy. The Liver,Kidney,Lungs and heart were in perfect condition. I went back to my doctor-friends and told them what happened. They re-examined Lucky and concluded that a miracle had indeed taken place. Very true but not in the way they had imagined. God had worked his miracles through nature. • Urine therapy is an ancient form of natural healing. It is based on theory that the solution to every problem is contained in the problem itself, that the body contains is own healing agent. Some people have argued that Urine is impure and it's a waste product That must be expelled From the system to avoid poisoning. •. I wish Lucky were alive today to give a testimoney. What a pity. Lucky left Ewu village For Lagos three years ago To look for greener pastures. He became a Taxi Driver and was involed in a motor accident. Lucky died. But there are many others like Lucky who are still alive and can testify to the miracle of the 'Water of Life'. •. Drop your comment and My advice 4 You is that you should Drink Urine atleast Twice in a month. Good Luck. www.surehabinfo..com/2014/08/health-benefit-of-drinking-urineurine_22.html?m=1 |
