^^^ Oga, 1. I'm not making speculations. I gave out some facts there which your unbelief doesn't change in anyway. 2. I didn't debate if Shekau is in Nigeria or Niger with you. 3. ...neither did I say there are no need for "detailed investigations". 4. Yes, security is duty if everybody, but some are paid to do it so let them justify their pay. If after 5+ years of war and billions of dollars they still haven't done such basic "detailed investigation" as you just proposed here, then we deserve to lose the war. |
@OP, Good constructive logic! ...but your specific observation failed because you probably aren't aware that BH is into all sort of robbery - including car snatching and highway robbery. Also when they attack towns and communities, the steal food, equipment , livestock and vehicles belonging to corporate bodies and government offices around there. Recent example is when the invaded Ashaka cement company in December, they stile brand new Toyota hilux vehicles from the coy premises and explosives from its quarry magazine. So if your procedure is meant to track down sponsors or locality, it might not work. It can only at best give you a list of who-lost-what. By the way, BH war is over 5 years now and the nation still can't track mass movement of those brigands, that tells you how unprepared we are to end the war. When a country is preparing for a war, certain activities are regular features; heavy weapons acquisition and mass recruitment. Both have been absent so far-in other words, we aren't ready to fight this war to finish yet. Forget those piecemeal acquisitions you are seeing so far, na just mere activities. On that stale excuse that Sambisa forest covers the "whole of Africa", it is no longer a sensible excuse. First of all, Sambisa does not link with Yankari. They are states apart. Then, if Sambisa is so big, BH can't be occupying the whole of it at any given time. It is a simple tactic of quartering it into sections and locking down the active areas which can only be a fraction of the forest. So enough of this brainless excuse. |
dhardline:Thanks for accepting to STFU. I'm from Enugu, and I just came back so I can tell that federal roads in Enugu are in horrible shape. The Enugu end of that Onitsha-Enugu express is unbelievably damaged. The Umunya-Amansea section in that pix is even motorable, at least. Check out 9th mile junction and tell me that's a good federal road. Several other ones all over Enugu like those too. |
seges:Dude, it's either you don't know the meaning of "generating capacity" , innumerate or you are just an illeterate or perhaps all of the above. Nigeria's generation capacity is around 1000MW while you claim Ghana's is 3500MW, so how's Ghana's 60% of Nigeria's? Nigeria has the biggest challenge of transmission of transmission which keeps it at 4600+ max. So learn to comprehend properly before coming online to form arm-chair analyst bro. |
OK. Thanks for your response. I will forward your contact. |
How much is a pack of mild steel electrode? |
Collynzo9:Oga, please don't compare Uhuru Kenyatta's response to GEJ's. In Kenya, the killings happened yesterday overnight and in less than 24 hours , two powerful officials were dismissed! Tell me in any case,...just one, please...where GEJ ever respinded so swiftly to culpable govt officials or national security threat. Secondly, read through Kenyatta's speech and see candour, you can be sure this is many levels away from GEJ's kind of response a la ...1. Feign ignorance, play down the number or deny it all out; 2. Send Abati or Okupe to mime to the people that "the perpetrators will surely be brought to justice" and "the govt is on top of the situation" cliches; 3. Blame the opposition; 4. Organize some faceless tribal group to "attack" perceived "opposition" and deliver subtle threats. Now you see why some of us have problems with GEJ? I hope you see a clear difference in how the two handled similar issues, but with the Kenyan displaying better candour. |
Billyonaire:Oga, America's debt is in trillions of dollars, not billions. W no be mates at all for anything. I'm sure if it were $17bn as u said, they would be much less worried thanu they presently are. |
Do you hire out Bobcats if you do, what's your rate? If not, please can you direct me to someone who does? Thanks. |
Thank you Nafeesat for your candidness. You have always given us reliable info without bias on happenings in NE. Keep up with your good heart irrespective of religious or geographical affiliation. |
https://www.nairaland.com/782802/norths-future-almajirai#9349860 Please note the date of that post vis-à-vis the scale of events then. |
@OP It's good and comforting enough to see that there are still "southerners" on Nairaland that have not contracted the malady of the mind you spoke against. I'm an Igbo and a christian, but I'm daily ashamed of many of my kinsmen here for their stand on an obvious crime and imminent danger simply they think Boko Haram is nemesis on "north". I have never seen a wider foolish reasoning or disillusion in my life- by experience or reading. Some even think it is a sort of vengeance for "christians" on "Muslims". I hereby publicly renounce such "God" that does such "vengeance" on mass of innocent people whose crime is simply being born in a certain geographical space with particular culture. But I'm aware that the "God" I KNOW doesn't stand for such distorted "vengeance". Many are still deluded that this is a PDP-APC fight. I'm too miffed at how this particular cruel reasoning even extends to the summit of leadership. We are cursed as a nation to have fallen so low in reasoning at our palaces. For those who think it is a "north" against "south" struggle, wait a little, after the north has fallen, your eyes will be cleared. The Yorubas have a common proverb, "Igi gogoro ma 'a gun mi l'oju, at'okeere laa ti nwo", meaning " a wise man sees and avoids a trouble well before it tmanifests". Get wisdom. For those who are "waiting for them to cross into our land", I will address your stupidity by informing you that no true military mind chooses to have war enter his home by before taking a stand, the least they do is meet it at the gate if they won't crush it far away from home. In finality, I will post a nairaland link on a comment I made few years back on same things raised here, even when the matter was much benign. I feel sad we allowed it to fester this much at all. Below is the link: |
dunkem21:Your teachers either failed very badly or you are just a first class dunce, ...going by what you wrote up there. |
Dear All, I saw a recent listing by World Bank of countries by GDP-PPP for 2013 released last month (September). I instinctively went down the page to go look for Nigeria at 40s position, where I expected her to be, but to my surprise , she's up there 20th! Now, the figure is another thing. It's almost a billion (international) dollar! I'm quite confused right now. Can someone with better knowledge explain to me what I'm looking at?... please! www.databank.worldbank.org/data/download/GDP_PPP.pdf |
Lol. What an irony. America , Europe and China scrambling for undeveloped Africa, Africans scrambling for developed London. Something is amiss somewhere. |

SmellMyFart:The only major challenge in studying engineering is learning to get your lazy a.rse down early enough in the semester and start studying properly ahead. If you can do that, all other issues can be taken care of. |
SmellMyFart:Bro, polish up your chemistry and join us soonest. You can't run away from Chemistry in this profession. If not earlier, it will be later when your chemistry Achille's heel might catch up with you. Eng'g na ashewo course because it will in course of time take you round all sort of other disciplines, including Law and Mgt Sciences. Good luck |
@OP, thank you bro for one of scarce sane analysis (although unverifiable yet) of that accident. I a mechanical engineer. The mist stupid part of the SCOAN claim is the aircraft theory. Honestly, were the gov interested in conducting an inquiry, or a prosecution witness deciding to establish his case against the owner, simply bring in structural engineers to review its acoustic soundness, and TB Joshua goes to jail straight! Merely claiming that it collapsed because an aircraft ( a C130 plane) flew over it severally in an area well known for its heavy air traffic is a serious self indictment. The case is simple, it suffered structural failure from onset of complex harmonics (vibrations) which is a serious deficiency given its location! This theory is simply in line with the claim of SCOAN herself, but a true Root Cause Analysis will provide more info. |
BashBB: In your opinion who do you think will win if the two countries decide to go to war without any ally help? Who do you think will win in terms of Delivery, technology, damage etc.It won't happen; and if it ever does, there will be nobody alive after to claim winner. If there are any survivors, the would wish they never survived. That would be end of modern man age. Cockroaches might rule the next age. Zoharariel: Oga, you think nuclear war is about GDP? Let Putin deploy some couple of Topol-M ICBMs against the Yanks & see if New York, Washington, Virginia, California & Texas won't be obliterated within few hours.Which movie you see that bolded info? Even with my advanced degree in mechanical engineering, I am not aware of such possibility yet in real life. tobtap: there will be no winner in a war btw russia and usa...av u guyz heard about MAD-mutually assured destruction ....and perhaps the usa av not won any war against a well train army since world war 2..they could not defeat the japanese until they dropped atomic bombs on dem and they were defeated in vietnam....please note that iraq, libya, afganistan, somalia dont have conventional military forces that well trained and armed. thanksYou obviously don't know what you are talking about. Ibnsultan: The world will looseQuite sensible. |
ToyinDipo: 400 is mostly called Irinwo I think.Irinwo = Orun-owo= 400 monetary count. So it is not proper numeracy, rather monetary count. 400=/= 400 naira in proper terms |

Demdem:That assertion is as clear as day. |
Osgilliat: I'm tired of these lies that this government keep spewing.why not come clean inorder to solve the problem rather than keep lying to faces of Nigerians. You don't really want to know the truth son. These lies make you sleep better at night. |
NafeesaAA: I don't abuse people, all what I have said have come to pass If, however you cross the boundary of civility, I have no obligation to treat you with even a modicum of courtesy. You called me a Boko Haram sympathizer without provocation! Which confirms you sprung from the dirtiest and most malodorous groins of the most disgusting tart ever born. You are destitute of civilization and elementary decency. Your maggot infected brain is of such severity and irreversibility as to be incapable of penetration by reason. Abusing people is the laziest and cheapest tool of scumbags like you who can neither think nor argue intelligently. When people accuse you wrongly, it tells a lot about their backgrounds of bastardy. When a man was born on the wrong side of the blanket, making him recognize the value of courtesy is like giving a mirror to a blind man!Jisos!!! |
obailala: On the contrary, those denying the probability of missing billions are far from ignorant... They are simply individuals and groups who have voluntarily decided to delude themselves that no money is missing... they fear that if they agree any money is missing, it would be an indictment of Jonathan's administration as being corrupt...My brother, the biggest problem of Nigeria is Nigerians. I have given up on this country. The people never learnt, and will never learn. |
Descartes: Mind you am working with an initial population obtained on 7/08/2014 @12:40pm which is 1217150 members. For a small data sample, that seems correct. But for large data sample, u and I know it is untrustworthy. What if you data sample represents a spike section due to fallout of Ekiti election or returnees from NL tsunami? It could even be a cyclic or stochastic blip which you can only be sure of with a larger sample size. I'm sure you know that it would only spread out on larger sample size whereas it sticks out and dominates errornously in smaller sample size. Data are nothing on their own u know, its interpretation that adds value and credibility to them. |

arewarepublic: I also believe the period is short, but going by the result of 0.048% not 4.5% as you claim, I think the estimated value isn't too bad.O yea! Thanks for pointing that out. But that still puts it at 486/million/day. With NL at about 1.22 million members, that's = 1.22 x 486/ day. That's extremely high sir. Solution: 1. Better distributed data. (There's a formulae that gives minimum data sample for given population and distribution. Sorry, my book aren't here.) 2. Find the population of multiple monikers to develop a probability value for them. 3. Solve using 1&2 in Bayes theorem. Think that should work better Good luck bro. ![]() |
