manny4life: Well I read it, perhaps you can re-post again, perhaps I missed the memo. Even your expert opinion will count... Till then, good luck. You sure didn't. |
Didier King: @Manny4life: Dude why do you waste precious time making people like Honeric01 relevant..Honeric01 is a nobody. And you're a somebody? i am nobody but no one is nobody.. muggsss |
ACM10: Though the president does not have power to dethrone him since his power is derived from traditional source. But he has the power to diminish his influence or even make things difficult for him. I remember when Gov. Chimaroke Nnamani had problem with Igwe of Nara Unateze in Nkanu. He devised an ingenious way to reduce his influence and prestige by dividing his kingdom into fragments and recognizing pretenders to the thrones as the trditional rulers of autonomous communities from those fragments. At the end of the day, the real Igwe was controlling only a small portion of what was once his dominion, surrounded by other hostile Igwes of the autonomous communities. You are now comparing an igew from someone in Nkanu to the Oba of Benin? where is nkanaanu again? |
manny4life: Well dude, to save the argument any further, you had to win. TBH, it looks like we're hitting roadblock so I guess you had to win. I read ALL your comments, but unfortunately, you did not read mine because I had questions I asked numerously, you never answered. You didn't read mine because if you did, you would have seen my definition, you can go back and read. you said you do not want expert definition, rather mine, yet you are asking me for 2 components of employment? Selling gala in traffic vs carpentry, tailoring, farming, which would you prefer or see as a contributor to the economy? Retail i know, selling i also know, in traffic, that i am against, the highways was NEVER built for buying and selling, it's an OFFENSE to sell on the highway (not here, not by the roadside), highways are not even friendly to roadside sellers, not to talk of on the highway sellers. No one is saying selling is BAD or wrong, i said hawking on the HIGHWAY is wrong. we are not competing here bro are we? it's wrong, risky, unhealthy and only fit for those with no hope for alternate. |
warrior01: Oh you're still here with this ur gala analogy. Now i understand why you're jobless. Stupi.d boyStu.pid boy? lol you are more empty than i thought. |
Frostyzone: Oh, I followed this pointless arguments from the very beginning...till I got fed up with your perplexing inputs. You should have ignored rather than contributing nothing.. ignoring makes you one point useful. |
He was suspended and later RECALLED to the palace.Haha money pass juju the gods are not smiling.
Symptoms, symptoms |
Frostyzone: Oh lordee lord! So all the people that are ''really employed'' according to your liking, love their jobs, heh? First, let me ask you this:What is employment? Isn't it when an individual devouts his/her time on an activity? Since gala hawkers are devouting their time on an activity, which is selling gala, ain't they employed. Must we all have an office and roof above our heads, to be considered 'gainfully employed'?Learn to stop jumping the gun, if you want to join a discussion, try knowing the genesis. Thank you. |
manny4life: Ok dude, you win... HURRAY.We argue to learn, some people said main market in Onitsha is the biggest in west Africa, i didn't argue, i asked them to provide facts to back it up, that's all. i am willing to learn. Please re-phrase your questions and i will answer them. i believe if you read my comments, you'd have seen the answers i provided except you haven't been reading. I am not here to win, i am here to let us know that selling gala in traffic or roadside bla bla bla is not employment and not likely going to help this country. Read this: http://leadership.ng/nga/articles/28804/2012/07/03/enugu_assembly_passes_bill_banning_commercial_motorcycles.html He lamented that the advent of motorcycle as means of transportation had contributed to the dearth of apprentice, artisans and other professional trades. He observed that many youths had turned their attention to ridding commercial motorcycle as easy means of getting money. |
ifihearam: @bluetoothAnd what happened thereafter to the Gabriel Ibgins? |
manny4life: Dude, as much as I want to school you on economics, I won't.You actually believe i don't know there's? Sorry, where did i say they aren't working? Wage and employment is different, abeg show me where i said otherwise. |
manny4life: Dude, don't balk yet... Just like I have my own definition, I need your own definition, not some definition that some schmuck put out there or an expert opinion put out there. What I want is your own definition.Roadside Middle of the road Do you know the difference? Roadside is not same with on the road. Selling gala in the train is not same with selling running after moving vehicles.. how hard is this? Those who sell in the train are also surviving/hustling, same with the roadsides, hustling/surviving. LIVING TO WORK BECAUSE ONCE THEY STOP JUST FOR 1 DAY, THEY STARVE. the sell to get daily food, just to feed for the day. An employed or gainfully employed person is someone who can take care of his needs and the same time have enough to save WHILE doing what he or she loves. Hawking is not EMPLOYMENT nor is it SELF EMPLOYMENT because people doing it are not doing it because they LOVE it but because they MUST survive and feed since they believe they have no other option |
Frostyzone: Seriously Dude, stop! Just stop, abeg! You are really embarrassing yourself with your blind arguments. Maybe, you fancy yourself as an intellect, but you are coming off as an IGNORAMUS instead. You can ignore if they aren't coming the way you would have wanted. |
manny4life: Per my initial post, civil servants that earn less than N20,000 in different service, I guess they're not employed BUT rather, "SURVIVING". I guess sales reps who earn N30,000 a month are not employed, BUT surviving. I guess even probably taxi drivers, motorcyclist, cleaners, gardeners, gate men, et al who probably earn a sum of N30,000 at their jobs are not working BUT surviving. Those are underemployed because they get paid lower than what their counter part gets in other parts of the world same with sales rep. THIS IS WHY I AM SAYING IF WE ARE TO LOOK AT THE STANDARD DEFINITION OF GAINFULLY EMPLOYED, THEN WE'D KNOW THAT MORE THAN 60% OF THE CURRENT WORKERS WE HAVE IN NIGERIA ARE SIMPLE UNDEREMPLOYED OR JUST SURVIVING. For cab and the rest you listed, they make more then 3k in a day, go and do your own research and stop trying to expand this discuss. I repeat selling in traffic is not employment, it's survival/hustling they're doing. It seems you do not know that i know bits about self employment, maybe you have forgotten so soon, we had a discuss on the "5,000 sacked in 2 weeks thread". maybe you think i am typing all these because i am alien to SE. |
manny4life: LOL... so Easy for coprpoartions with bad assets to get loand . I can imagine how easy it was for many failed companies when their creditors came knocking. Tell that to folks who don't know how the system works. You actually believe i'm going to give you any definition when it can be easily gotten online? We are in Nigeria and we know that majority of the companies standing now are in debts, yet they get more loan from banks so make we forget that side. those who failed are the ones the owners are tired of cooking the book or just decided to walk out with the remains. You said by the roadside, NOT IN BETWEEN HIGHWAYS, lets stop this back and forth, what can't be repeated continuously is not employment, selling inside traffic is not employment because they are mostly arrested by road safety and police unless of course you want to feign ignorance again. When did selling by the road side equals selling and chasing after speeding vehicle on the highway? |
ACM10: I can see that your Oba is no more the custodian of Benin culture, tradition and language. He is now the custodian of madness, and dispenses it at will. But those shyt aint potent on me.You sabi make mouth, easy to spot mouthy like you.. try am for real life see whether u go get tongue take talk. |
IgweAni: Ignorance is bad and here i was thinking u were learned. Gosh!Do you think i am typing all i type to score ethnic points? wetin concern me with what civil servants make? if they like let them make 10k per month. these ones are underemployed, they are not even active in anything except the police and the teachers, the rest are useless. Now back to the gala or no gala thing. if you make 1k per day selling gala in traffic, you're surviving and not employed. this 1k is not EVEN FIXED, you only sell 100 gala in a bumper to bumper traffic and not on any given day. so sometimes you don't even make 200naira in day so stop comparing.. In general, MAJORITY of Nigerians are either unemployed, unemployable or just hustling/surviving. |
manny4life: Know what myself? You're the one hiding yourself from the truth. How many corporations have you seen with bad debts on the book with mighty assets that goes with it? Do you know the equation about Asset and Liabilities and their relationship? Please, STOP being funny. When Corps have so much debts, and balance sheet is pretty much red than green, your outstanding assets are pretty much useless and results to devaluation.Case closed for you. it's easy for corporations with reputation and assets to get loan so stop lying to yourself, bro don't overflog this.. a gala hawker is not employed, that's not employment, THAT IS SURVIVAL. Chasing buses on highways to sell 50 naira gala is employment to you? in a sane country, that is an offense, hope you know that? |
Spirit of Okija: However, thankfully through Village commitees, associations and other such groups, many petty traders have been able to take out loans and expand their businesses.. Infact, most of them get these loans without necessarily a collateral.. All they need is a reputable family memeber to vouch for them and a pay back plan.. Monies are normally given to those who must have understudied an established business man (What we call Gbalu ya Nwaboy)..Hehehe, you mean the gala hawker get loans from the whole village? a loan from the whole village can only raise funds to hawk gala which brings in 1k profit daily at most? loan to sell gala? my igbo brothers are wiser than this man. stop insulting my friends. All in all, my igbo bros are industrious but those selling gala aren't doing themselves any favor because they are really slaving away. |
ACM10: The Oba of Benin is a toast. Hope gods will come to his aid when the full tons of Federal might descends on him. He will discover that it's the politicians that grants him power. Can u imagine doing this to Abacha?Small pikin you be. you wan dance naked for village square abi? |
The gods that cant help him to reduce armed robbery, kidnapping, human trafficking and pro-stitution in bini ? Na soso curse the god sabi.mschew
You are already displaying symptoms of madness, it's still early though, stop this act before it becomes too late for you. |
^^ Seeing they say is believing, so come visit and forget your Gala theories.
Common, i don't have to visit to know, just prove it.. do i have to visit heatrow to know it's the busiest in the UK? |
warrior01: tis so tempting to give up on ur case but i will not. Bro, travel and seeI have to travel to see this? no picture, no article? no magazine, souvenirs or anything to prove this? help a brother out. |
Da infamous: it seems that u dont no the reason why main market is the biggest in west africa, did u miss something?3 million people visit main market on daily basis, from neigbouring countries and other parts of nigeria troop to that market everyday..That's why i said advise me, now can you show me with source and stats stating that 3 million people visit main market? anything to prove that? |
manny4life: No, it's not, it means working on the job. Who says that you have to do everything from 1k? Is this your assumption or is this based on experience?Oh you mean the gala seller fast while hawking? they don't eat, relax, shelter, cloth or move? |
hugooh42: Just listen to yourself.Do u think the gala seller will remain a gala seller for ever? You guys are being sentimental, where did i say a gala seller is going to remain one? i said selling gala does not mean you are GAINFULLY employed, can't you guys spot the difference or just too blind? |
manny4life: They get loans from banks? In your wisdom, banks will bail you out when you're running deficit right? So I guess that Gala sellers cannot get mini loans from lender to expand right? Why not? as long as the corporations have assets for collateral, don't feign ignorance bro, you know this yourself but the gala hawkers can't get this privilege. |
Freiburger: They are all possible.elaborate |
Ever been to Onitsha before?
Nope, advise me.. which single market in Onitsha is busier than Alaba. (for educational purpose) |
warrior01: Ur case is pathetic. Take a look at an average igbo man that started with nothing but sheer determination and tell me where he is todayNo one is doubting that, not just an igbo thing, its a common knowledge so spare me the story. |
manny4life: If you're looking @ profit wise, then let's not leave out corporations that run in deficits, YEAR IN YEAR OUT. How do you expect them to expand or even pay their employees who work for them? They get loans from banks From selling their shares You can't compare them at all. |
