manny4life: No, we rate workers based on their activity into the economy NOT based on what their take home is. So whether is gala seller, mom and pop business, hawkers on the street, people who sell from table, hotdog carts, etc. These people are involved in an economic activity (TRADE) which is self employment.Sure, being self employed while slaving away for the real owner of the products you sell is stupidity, innit? making 1k daily from selling in traffic. and you do everything from the 1k. I don't think it's because they are lazy to engage themselves in planning.. how can you plan marriage with 1k daily when you're to feed and do all things from these? |
tigerleggs: Nothing wrong sir. One is entitled to one's stupi.dity. Rock Yob.Easy to spot the stu.upid one here. anyone who lies to himself is the stu.upid one. |
warrior01: Sorry o but are you this daft? I said 'if you know ur way'. So if you start as a hawker you would save, expand and move on to the next level? Don't you think an ambitious and determined hawker would also want to be a supplier too? Guy, wake up there are days of little beginnings. If I may ask how old are you self?I love reality while you live in fantasy word.. i broke down how much people make from hawking, you are here wasting time deceiving yourself.. how much do you want to save from 1k? tell me how to spend 1k profit in a day so as to be able to save enough to set up your own supplying unit. |
Getting rich without Working? Be smart without studying? Falling in love without getting hurt? Eating without getting fat? Can anyone answer these questions? |
afam4eva: If you has taken out more time to read that post properly, you would have noticed where i said "the average Anambra person".I saw that, hence the reason i wrote what i wrote.. ALL THE SAME, I RESPECT MY IGBO BROTHERS, THEY ARE NOT LAZY UNLIKE THOSE WHO PREFER TO LIVE IN THE CREEKS AND THOSE WHO STAY MORE IN THE GARAGE THAN THEIR MAIN ABODE. |
warrior01: My guy, any business that brings you profit is worth it if you know ur wayYes, profit that cant sustain you? one thing is to make profits you spend in a day which i see as survival and not employment and another is to eat, feed, doing everything from it and have enough to save which i see as employment. Now looking at the above statement, would you call a gala/water hawker as an employed youth? |
tigerleggs: You sound like a professional gala seller to me. Just wondering.I just love to know how things go in all sectors so as to know which one to go into, like supplying the gala hawkers gala, is anything wrong with that? |
afam4eva: How did this thread move from "Anambra has lowest rate unemployment" to the "Price of Gala". Whether gala sellers are making one naira profit is not the issue, being employed simply means to engage yourself in something meaningful no matter how small. Chikena. But i just used "gala" as an example. The average Anambra person is too proud to even sell gala in the first place(not that i said average). Even if he sells gala, just know that in a few weeks or months, he will start important gala from other countries. That's hoe enterprising they are.You think so? you must know all Anambras to have come up with such statement. My point is that if we are to rate workers based on their take home, then we still have a long way to go. |
Odenigbo Aroli: We view ppl who hawk galas in Anambra as LOSERS,hence you wont even see an Omanbala hawking talk more of gala! Get ur facts right...I repeat you see one million Omanbalas before you see a hawking one and he wont let anybody to know he hawks because its a shame to our ppl!LOL see mouth, as if Anambra are different from other igbos.. Mama chucks and sons are there to prove to me that poverty and unemployment is nationwide and no tribe or state is immune to it. Because my igbo friends love to take their destiny into their hands does not mean they are gainfully employed, they just love to hustle just like any hardworking Nigeria. If we are to rate those actually employed (standard rating), then 60% of all Nigerians should be underemployed looking at how much people take home at the end of the day after all expenses's been taken care of. If we are gainfully employed, why do we wait till we are almost 40 before settling down? |
warrior01: Stop being childish. Are you not the one that started with ur gala and tourch light analogy in order to demean an average gala seller in anambra state? See, what you failed to fathom out is that any person with the ambition and determination to make it coupled with consistency will definitely move up the social ladder. If you have any business acumen, then, you'll understand that no business is negligible and there are opportunities everywhere. Moreso, whether they start with running after cars or freelancing, always remember there is always a starting point and never despise ur days of little beginning.I started with Gala, touch? you can't even see well again.. I am not saying selling gala or pour water is bad, what i am saying is that selling these things does not equate employment, MOST OF THE PEOPLE DOING THESE DO IT AS A LAST RESORT, not because it's worth it. |
Mr Everest: U hav no point my broda because even if they sell only 100 pieces @ 10 naira gain each that wud amount 2 1000 naira daily, which is stil more than d minimum wage!Stop jumping the gun, this has been addressed already. you can now see why our young men stay so late before getting married..you can 1k per day something to be proud of? Feed from 1k Cloth from 1k medication from 1k transport from 1k shelter from 1k miscellaneous from 1k Hmmm |
warrior01: my dear, stop being foolish if there no buyers and they are not making profit, i don't think you'll see those guys there and the business would have collapsed.Biggest market in what? Foolish in what sense? Do you know what survival means? doing something to survive not because you love it or it pays you well. |
warrior01: guy, it seems ur mentality is too low. We are talking about an average Anambrarian here who in all ramifications is industrious and is ever ready for competition business wise. Do you think he/she will relax without setting up other selling points with his savings? There is where the ingenuity of an average igbo man comes into play; he spreads his tentacles and employs other people and at the end of each day, with multiple streams of income you'll be in the best position to tell me how much he would be makingYou can keep insulting me because of the truth, but that wont change anything.. stop assuming for every Anambran man.. unemployment is a Nigerian problem, not an Igbo problem so stop this "victim" tone you are resorting to. He spreads his tentacles? how many of them do you know with multiple incomes? tell me, why would i want to sell gala or pure water in the sun/rain when i have multiple streams of income? apart from the stress, what about the dangers of running after moving vehicles in the middle of the highway? would someone making better money in a safer/healthier environment think of hawking gala/water in traffic? Please think and stop being emotionally sentimental, you're not a woman. |
Iolo: You're right. Bur i also fink your reasoning on a small scale. Dnt forget the gala guy cud be a freelancer in d day and gala guy @ nyt wen the hold ups re more rampart. You are talking about sales of cars, how often do they sell cars? in a month, they are likely not going to sell a car and when they do, maybe they get like 2k-10k. Remember we are talking about Anambra here not Lagos. so tell me, you mean Anambra market is that lively? how many traffic can you count on in Anambra? What i know is that every Igbo man is industrious, they rather earn 500 per day than earn nothing, but DO NOT EQUATE THAT TO EMPLOYMENT because that is NOT EMPLOYMENT. it's not even underemployment, this is hustling, surviving and not employment/underemployment or overemployment. |
warrior01: OMG!! Are you this stupid? Don't you have any business sense at all? So, according to you the profit from gala is so small (10 each) and the business is not worth it? Have you pondered why the company is still in serious production and declaring billions as profit after tax? Do you think an average Anambrarian would just relax selling in traffics all by himself without expanding his business? Even with ur calculation of him making 2000 a day, with many selling points you can easily deduce how much he will making in a day then come back and tell me how much a civil servant that is 'employed' is equally making at the end of the monthLOL 2,000 naira a day from gala? that's 200 piece, now tell me where do they make 200 sales per day? only Lagos can boast of 100 sales of gala in traffic on an average day. some days with no hold on, you won't even sell up to 20. you better wake up and stop pulling out stats from the thin air. |
PHIPEX: Stop sounding like someone in an utopian society, if every Nigerian has #600 to save every day then we would've been among the least poor in the world. 600*30 = 18,000 per month. How many low income Nigerian has that amount in savings every month? It is not enough to give them the goodies of life but enough to keep them afloat. It seems you love to select what you read right? i know why i only threw in 100 as transport to and fro, now tell me, you think 100 naira will transport a gala seller to and fro the highway he sells gala at? Secondly, what happens to clothing, shelter, relaxation and medication? when he removes all these from the 600 naira, what is he going to save? |
PHIPEX: Remember that the most universal benchmark for poverty is $1 per day or the recent $1.25 which is roughly #200. Going by your logic, if the gala seller makes #10 per piece and sell 100pieces in a day it means they have made #1000 as profit which could be likened to someone who earns about #30,000 as monthly salary. You actually believe $1 is the benchmark? tell me how you can feed with 160 naira and i will tell you the reality on ground. if you make 1k as profit, transport from where you sell back home should be around 100 naira, you feed about 300 naira making 400 in a day. you are left with 600 naira.. now what about clothing, housing, medications, relaxation e.t.c? 600 naira is going to handle that? |
crackhouse: Anambrarians don't hawk Gala. If u see those people that hawk gala, ask them where they 're from and i am sure u will be dissappointed. Be informed.I didn't say every gala hawker is from Anambra and you are very long to say Anambrians don't hawk gala, who sells the gala in Anambra? Aboki? |
Iolo: If the gala hawker is able to make ends meet frm his hustle, then he is gainfully employed. How much do you think a gala hawker makes in a day? their profit on each gala is 10 naira and they can only sell between 50-200 pieces in a very thick bumper to bumper hold on.. when there's no hold-up, no sales so tell me, how much is he going to make on an average day? Same with freelance referrer.. they get 50 naira,100 naira as tip, but how often do they get these? and how much do you think they make in a day? you believe this is employment? |
Lordave: I was there when my dad droped £15k as ma mum's bride price. Dat was B4 the war.As a ghost or how? |
Great. Another guy complaining about how "expensive" women are. If you think you can't afford women, TRY MEN
How does the cost of a wedding equates the value of a woman? |
exxell: Before I give you a reply, I will like to know the language you typed this with? Frankly speaking, it looks like English but I doubt if its the version currently in use. Why am asking is because everything you posted is not UNDERSTAND AND NOT RELEVANT TO WHAT I TYPED.I don't care to know if you have a problem with what i wrote, all i care about is that what is bad is bad, you don't give your punny to a man who's not committed to you for free and expect to be treated like a real lady. This is a clear example of the sayings which says "why buy the cow when you can get free unconditional milk?" She is hoping that the man's going to get serious with her, yet she gives him freely what should be one of the things the man should be longing after (if he gets married to her). You think sex should be this cheap? |
exxell: Sharaap. Its ladies like you that I HATE AND DISLIKE. If what tres-chic posted was in any way true, I ADORE HER FOR THAT. She is open, honest and doesnt give a Bleep what others say. Its retarded ladies like you that give guys replies like "Am not in the mood, this is my first time etc". But when left alone, you masturbate and finger more than Lucifer like my Ex making the whole place messy. Some of you even engage in LESBIANISM. And you are here abusing a lady that is voicing out her natural yearnings. For the fact that you are not natural doesnt mean others are like you too. How I wish I knew you physically Ndidi! I know how to treat your type. RETARDS!You be ashawo wey no want make person pour garri for una sand.. i guess u are the type that bang girls around.. not to worry, karma is coming to bite you sooner or later, adore someone who opens her legs for a man she knows was and is never committed to her. Remind me again, what's the correlation between a freelance bit.ch and a career bitc.hh.. Anwer should be a PROSTITUTE. |
afam4eva: Whether they are selling Gala or brukutu, they're gainfully employed. If Mohammed does not go to the mountain, the mountain goes to mohammed. I want to comment the hustling spirit of ndi Agbenu.Selling gala equals gainfully employed? i see why Nigerians are in poverty. |
A gala hawker is also employed? a freelancer he's got no other job but to pose as a merchant in various markets so as to refer you to the real merchants in order to get a tip from you is also employed right? What is employment? |
cyril83: That's why Nigeria is stil Nigeria, there's no way this cursed country could move forward with all the blood sacrificeHow can the country be better with your damming statement? |
blink182: 1 Corinthians 11:1-34LOL very funny, did you read the verse 5 very well? Jesus came to correct the law you say, the law of women not to cover their hair because if this is preached in the church, many won't come but Jesus didn't come to correct the law of having to pay tithe if you want God to increase your pocket like a money doubler? Now how many Nigerian women actually have long hair? i mean how many of them grow their natural hair long? Most of our women are too lazy to grow their hair so most of them have short hair, since they don't want to cover it, then they should shave it off just like the bible said. If you can't cover your short hair, shave it off. |
The woman iwith the yellow purse is in jeans
Women wear jeans to church now, infact anything can be worn to church nowadays.. they will tell you "God looks inward (the heart) and not outward (your dressing) |
Muma Bee: Na 2day? E don tey wey pple no dey tie scarf go churchHead tie is now Brazilian hair, synthetic hair, cow hair, wigs, weave-on, even sponge self they wear. |
akagaba: headtie my foot, then why did God give them hair? Wil tieing of headtie lead them 2heaven? Or wil it indicate that sin has been tied away in their lives? Religious fanatism. Go and read john 7 vs 24.Which hair? the wig or the weave on? which one exactly? |
