What type of stupid excuse is the statement "There are some people in your life that you can't forget"... Even though it may be true, but when it comes to commitment and loyalty especially on the terms of one's partner, you just have to give those seemingly " indispensable people" space.

Please leave her be and go find someone who would value and feed your emotional peace.
