CamusMidas: Na normal thing, I was pointing out the naivety of your business idea, making it to look like you have just discovered crude oil without looking at other factors.
Na business wey plenty venture into once they go to the north (foodstuff), you go always see something wey dey cheaper for north.
If it is very good easy as you pointed why is everyone not into it. (If most people are into it the prices of such things won't be on the very high side). There is nothing that has advantage that doesn't have disadvantage. It all depend on your individual mindset....that's, what you want and how you want to get it. |

nedekid: By the time you factor cost of transportation, cost of paying all the fees on the road, ie local gov, food and forestry, health people, police etc. The paying for ground at mile 12 for paying those that will sell it for you. You go see say kaki no be leather. The first hussle I did with my savings after nysc way back 1996 and after listening to one motivational speaker was to travel with one man to go buy yam after doing all my calculations on paper and seeing huge profit margin. Omo, I lost my money, I did not bath for 3 days. (LONG STORY) You don't just dable into such hussle because you see price difference. Respect people that are currently doing it. I felt your experience, and it almost sounded funny on the part of not bathing for three days. Well, some of these things can be bought and way-be to those who can sell them for you. But mind you, not in all cases though. |

Y'all should know business is really not only about the profit you'd make but also weighing ur odds. Fine I should transport down south n sell, how easy would it be to transport? how quick would it sell? who can I trust in dealing business with? these are one amongst questions to ask
But that's by the way, everyone got their diff plans n biz ideas but me I'm tryna use the high population of the state and the boarding Northern state to my advantage Those who are interested know how to navigate their ways through all these huddles you mentioned. |

onyechez: What limitation? You're the only one forcing the limitation on yourself when the truth is there for everyone to see. Are you in all part of the country to see what is going on with specific goods not distributed to all or the high cost ? Did I say many goods aren't arriving from North to other part of the country? Is it not on NAIRALAND a professor said hoarding of some Agriculture goods from North is a challenge to the south? I am clearly waiting my time on something that's not useful or just empty nothing more. You are actually trying to be objective but your sentimental sense couldn't allowed you to arrive well. |

onyechez: Your type just talk anything on a public forum without doing due diligence. Do you know the hurdle in transporting the onions from bauchi.. So you know dey hear say north say they don't want to bring their agricultural yields to the south again for the main time. It seems you don't know what's going on in Nigeria as we currently speak. There are many northerners that bring this onions down south before now but because of the tribal clash that's why they have put trading activities to hurt. No matter the condition, many goods are still arriving from North to other parts of the country. So pls stop forcing limitation on yourself |

Must your lives of profit only run on quick-turn exploitation: buying low and selling ridiculously high, when long-term solutions can be mapped out and effected? No matter what or how, there must be inter- state buying and selling of different kinds of goods and services. |

DarkWritings: was it their fault? Was it intentional? Didn't they ask the girl who owns the food? Didn't she say yes it's theirs? As far as I'm concerned there's no argument in this case! It's just God's favor. They may not be the owner of the food but God gave it to them! .. after all, the real owner might had enough, so God decided to bless the hungry ones out of the abundance of another person. |
