I thought that the hardship and hunger is not affecting that region(east), because I have been watching people making videos while eating and drinking claiming that the hardship and hunger in the country is not affecting their region. |
No salary update. |
This platform is more preferable, creating multiple groups on other social media wasn't necessary. |
Salary update from Monday |
PDP has won APC in Southern Ijaw LGA, Congratulations to the Governor for re-election. |
Any attempt to impeach our Governor will be resisted by all well-meaning Rivers people. We won't go back to Egypt, this Governor is the one that will take Rivers State to the promised land(good governance) |
Yoruba government. |
Kindsoul55:I'm sure there's a mix-up, the UBE chairman cannot suspend a principal of the senior secondary. The senior secondary is under the RSSSSB and not the UBE that he is the chairman of. So this information is just like saying that the Bayelsa state Governor has suspended Rivers State commissioner in Rivers State, which can never happen. |
What stopped the board from releasing the promotion results/list to the various LGA offices? |
About The Issue of Promotion Letters and Implementation: If the government and the various boards are sincere about this promotion and quick implementation, they will release the promotion results which is like a master list and with that it will use for implementation and each person in the list will photocopy and be using it pending the letters will be issued. This is not new, the older teachers have such promotion results/list in the past before letters are issued later. With that promotion results/list, payment could be implemented and you can present the copy of that list anywhere as your promotion in place of promotion and it will be honoured. |
As schools reopen on the 11th September, if the state government fails to promote and implement the promotion payment before that said date, one will have no choice but to adopt work as you are paid policy. That is, attendance and commitment to the job will be based on what(value of the salary) one is paid. |
FFK is right on this, the president should lift all sanctions against Niger Republic because these sanctions have caused more harm to Niger people than the coup itself. |
This government is treating adult like children, and we are even yielding to it. Every month there will be one story or the other about promotion and payment. From April till date, one story or the other. |
When I read and listen to news about other states implementing increase in salaries of civil servants and other measures to cushion the impact of the subsidy removal and harsh economic reality, even in the states with very little resources, I feel bad about the type of leadership we have in Rivers State. Here in Rivers State, we are not even talking about increase in salaries to cushion the impact of the subsidy removal and the harsh economic reality that has made the current pay (without promotion for 10 years) a mockery in the face of the new economy reality but praying for promotions for 10 years plus. Is a pity we found ourselves in a state that is blessed with lots resources/revenue but we don't feel the impact of such because of the kind of leadership we have. Last week I read some post here about a meeting and issues that concerns teachers and promotions. Attributing delay to absence of constituted board members and chairman, and a promise of doing so within a week. Now my questions: 1. Is it teachers that constitute board members and chairman that should bear the burden of failure of appointment of board members and chairman? 2. How long does it takes to appoint board members and chairman? 3. Are there no qualified persons in the state to be appointment board members and chairman? 4. When will the one week promised for the constitution of the board elapsed? |
Purity001:Thanks for your effort and sacrifice, we are proud of you and everyone in this struggle. |
This ECOWAS is still an instrument of the colonial masters to continue to colonise Africa. The colonial masters and their agents should leave Niger alone and allow the new military head to rule their country and stop complicating issues for them. Corrupt Leaders who came into power through civilian coup in the name of election are not ashamed of talking about democracy. |
That's good, we have numerous problems in our country begging for solutions that the president has not shown serious commitment in solving them, what he is concerned is interfering with what is happening in other independent countries that may trigger war. We have worst problems in our country: poverty, hunger, general insecurity, Boko Haram, hardship introduced by his subsidy removal policy, etc. Mr President, solve all the problems in Nigeria and leave Niger Republic alone. |
It is completely not true that an acting chairman have no power to sign promotion letters, the person who act as the chairman of the board is mostly the most senior staff or the Head of Administration of the board and have every right to act and sign any document in the absence of a chairman. Let me ask, for the past several years that the SSSB has been without a substantive chairman, who has been the one signing the retirement letters and retirement promotion to those who retire in SSSB for their pension and other benefits? Who has been the one signing the appointment letters to the new principals and vice principals? |
Teachers have population advantage that if used in terms of populating the media with complains about non promotion, demands and general issues concerning the welfare of teachers, will force the government to always settle teachers' demand first before any other sector. NUT will never speak for teachers but seek only ways of enriching their EXCOS. One of the problems of teachers in Rivers State is the NUT. |
With the radio news and radio programs on different radio stations today about the teachers' salary and the general condemnation from all quarters. Teachers are beginning to speak through the right channels and more of this is needed to stop all the ill-treatment to Rivers State teachers. |
Let those who always post false hope and lies about promotion payment every month end stop. No matter the source of your lie. |
Two very urgent and important needs of Rivers State civil servants: 1. Promotion and implementation. 2. General increase in salaries to cushion the negative impact of the subsidy removal and the naira devaluation. The NLC, Rivers State chapter should speak the language that is understood by the government. |
chrissoki:Christians also need money this period to celebrate with their Muslim brothers. |
Will this be Salah without salary? |
If you read the above press release, you will see that the promotion that is a special concern to the civil servants was not mentioned, unlike the employment that he said the process is ongoing, pension and gratuity he also said is ongoing. That of promotion and implementation was not mentioned at all. It was when he was apportioning blame on the failure of government ......on the former NLC chairman in the state that the word "promotion" featured. |
PRESS RELEASE SUBSIDY REMOVAL: RSG TO ROLL OUT TRANSPORT PALLIATIVE IN RIVERS STATE ...As Fubara Charges Labour To Embrace Dialogue Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara says modalities are being put in place by the Government to roll out transport palliative to cushion the high cost of transportation caused by the removal of petrol subsidy. Governor Fubara disclosed this when the State leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) paid him a solidarity visit at Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday. Sir Fubara explained that the Ministry of Transport is already being engaged to introduce some buses to help reduce the high cost of transportation currently faced by the people. The Governor who described the effects of the subsidy removal as temporary, urged workers and Rivers people to exercise patience as relief will come at the end of the day. The governor said, "Rivers State is one of the states that have implemented the new salary structure, the state is in full practice of the new salary scale, the issue of pension and gratuity are ongoing, the records are there, the issue of employment is also ongoing, we are fulfilling our part of the bargain to take care of the workers". Governor Fubara also stated that the Rivers State Secretariat Complex is undergoing reformation as challenges of water supply, security, power supply and other essential services are being tackled to enhance the productivity of workers. Fubara further assured of providing a conducive working environment for both the public and private sectors of the state economy and urged the organised labour to work in synergy with the government to move the state forward. He hinted that the confrontational approach of the previous leadership of NLC in Rivers State stalled the smooth resolution of issues regarding the welfare of workers, such as promotions, pensions and gratuities, but that is now a thing of the past. The governor appealed to the leadership of the Union to always embrace peace and dialogue and urged them to be constructive in matters of policy as well as to make the state better. "It's very important for labour to have a good relationship with any administration, labour can't work in isolation; it's important for the present leadership of NLC in Rivers State to work with our government". Sir Fubara assured the Union of his collaboration in a bid to move the state forward and promised to look into the request of rehabilitating the Union's office. Earlier in his address, the Chairperson of NLC in Rivers State, Comrade Alex Agwanwor, who led the delegation on the solidarity visit said the visit was to congratulate the governor and pledge their unflinching support to his administration. The NLC chairman said the organised labour in Rivers State is proud of the emergence of Fubara, a technocrat and career Civil Servant as Governor of Rivers State. Agwanwor urged the governor to create a sustainable avenue for labour and government to always discuss issues that will enhance industrial harmony in the state. He said, "The Rivers State Governor is conversant with challenges of the public service, we want to appeal, that a regular interface be sustained between government and labour to foster industrial harmony and development in Rivers State. This fake rumors about promotion payment by month end has become a monthly routine. A source in the that that... said this or that, a reliable source said....., the nominal roll or voucher was prepared with new grade level,..... These lies keep repeating in this platform every month and some persons keep believing and getting disappointed at the receipt of their alert showing nothing different from the fixed salary, then a week after these same stories will be reintroduced. The government is deliberately keeping mute about the issues of promotion and welfare of civil servants in the state, knowing that the various unions which are supposed to speak for the civil servants are almost dead, and the civil servants in their individual capacities are not using the social media to generate the noise that will get the attention of the government, some of the civil servants are party members and praise singers of the government in politics. In the midst of the subsidy removal and it's attendant hardship, the state government is keeping mute about raising the salaries of civil servants in the state to cushion the impact of the subsidy removal; even the long overdue promotions, the government is not showing any seriousness. May God help civil servants in Rivers State. |
To every beginning there's an end, and to every end there's a new beginning. Today marks a new beginning (new administration). May the new Governor be concerned about the genuine interest of the people, be a humbled servant/leader, be concerned about the poor and how to reduce poverty and unemployment in the state, be concerned about the welfare of civil servants and pensioneers, be a listening leader, etc |
You failed Nigerians, you multiply the suffering and hardship in the country. |
Countdown: 7 days to go! My prayer as we await the new administration to kick start in 7 days is that the new administration should be fair to civil servants in the state, especially teachers, it should never be like this current(outgoing) administration. Let the new administration be like that of Bayelsa State to the Rivers State civil servants. |
Apraise:So who are the CORE civil servants? So some of us are part of those promoting the erroneous classification and stereotype against teachers, and the politicians are capitalizing on that. If there's any classification like core civil servants then the teachers are the core civil servants. |
The executive arm of government (particularly the president) have no constitutional powers to determine who becomes the the leader of the legislative arm of government (Senate). It is completely wrong for the president-elect to interfere with the internal affairs of the Senate. |
