Computer-based GRE result comes out immediately you hit the submit button after taking the test. The paper-based GRE result comes out 3 weeks after taking the test.

I'll suggest that you calm down and stop showing off unnecessarily your desperation. The VOs are quick to detect desperation in one's eyes and deny you because of it. Moreover, coming to US DOES NOT end your 'sufferings'. Know this today, US is not paradise and do not expect to come here and start picking dollars off the street or expect that once you come here all your sufferings in this life will end. Life for migrants here can be tough and only the extremely hardworking, not just average hardworkers, and greatly perseverant survive here. US isn't for a lazy man. Be prepared to work extra hard when you come here.

Nairaland, seun and others.. It's time you guys update "love" instead of like.. I love this true words from you sir.. Bless

Tekecoms1: Please i will like to know if someone with 2.56 cgpa HND holder can also get to do masters in USA?
And how do i evaluate my result?

I really cannot tell what your cgpa would be after evaluation, I'll leave that to some of the ogas who has an idea on evaluation, but you will need to evaluate your result by WES(you can google their website) after which you would know if its possible for you to get admission for masters with it..

decreamaster: this question as been coming up on this forum lately,
if someone has ND result here in nigeria, can he/she apply for an admission to any us universities?

You can apply as a transfer student if your course tally, you will get waiver on some credits.. If it doesn't then it pays to apply as a freshman.

Amefrica: Hello house!

Is Eja panla (Stock-fish) allowed while checking in, also at the Point of Entry (Toronto not New York)? I'm traveling with a lot of it.. cheesy

It's allowed in Nigeria here, can't say about the port of entry over there but a friend of mine went with lotta stock fish to canada like a year back.. As long as its dried.. I don't think there should be problem...

shikshark: i dont think ebola virus could be transmitted by handling money except "if" the money is wet
and have already contained the body fliud of an ebola patient. handle cash but dont handle wet one.

Must your body be wet before you can contact Ebola? If not why should the money be wet
Health / Can Ebola Be Spread Through Money? by honeyad(m): 7:49pm On Aug 08, 2014
So many people have been avoiding personal contacts, shaking, hugging has turned an avoidable thing in Nigeria now due to the fear of the crazy disease called "EBOLA"..

This prompted me to call for this question and I'll like reasonable answers from intelligent people...

What if an Ebola victim uses an ATM machine? Can someone who doesn't have the disease contact it by immediate using of the ATM ?

We all know its not easy to tell where exactly the money we are spending have been to before getting into our respective pockets and purse.. Can money shared by an Ebola victim be contagious? If the answers are yes.. If you are being given a million dollar by a dieing Ebola victim ... Would you collect it ?

Thanks and God bless.

so should i still take my uncle as sponsor as i do not want to change information on my ds 160 .

I think you should leave your uncle as sponsor or you can co-sponsor him with your dad like some people adviced and you explain to the VO the reason you did that... Regarding changing location of embassy, I really don't think it's necessary, I feel you would get your visa on your next try... Just tell it to God..

Laura2014 your transcript seems one of the best today but I can't really tell the major reason you were denied.. You absolutely killed the VO.. I think the problem started when you were asked about your sponsor..There are good days and bad days.. Only God and prayers can change the bad days to Good.. Seek him and I believe you would come here for your testimony.. I wouldn't advice you change your sponsor again as it might look a bit odd changing sponsor every new Ds160..

streetMic:

1. Get a family sponsorship
2. Know ur courses, it shows u really going for studies.
3. u obviously went prepared for certain questions. go ready 2 answer any type of question. don't underate d Powa of mock interviews, am sure u had non.
4. kill tension, read all the transcripts on dis forum.
5. Tell it to God.

Your advice seems good, People keeps saying get a family sponsorship.. Must he? You don't need to change your sponsor, be ready to give them cogent reason they want to sponsor you, something more related to the scope of the company and be ready to show the VO you are worth the scholarship you earned.. The VO would have given him visa if he had told the VO he already registered for classes and telling him just 3 courses he registered with... Before my Interview, I knew about 7 courses and their course code and was ready to pour it out if he mistakenly ask.. The thing is school is resuming, it will be silly to reply you haven't registered because you might not just have the opportunity to register some courses when you get there.. God will see you through domex007..

domex007: Visa denied today @ lag emb.
VO: hi
Me: good morning sir
VO: how are you?
Me: fine thank you
VO: why do you desire to study in the US
Me: I found out that US has the best education system in the world compared to other universities.
VO; did you fill your application yourself?
Me: yes sir
VO: You sure?
Me: Yeah.
VO: when did you finish high school?
Me: 2012
VO: why do you wanna study computer science?
Me: I have always wanted to study computer science way back in secondary school and I want to learn how to design and program softwares to help companies and business in Nigeria.
VO: where do you work?
Me: Bleep limted
VO: how long?
Me: 2years now
VO; *types for ages* what are you gonna do in school.
Me: *didnt quite understand* said I submitted my waec and toelf result to get admitted.
VO: no I mean, what are you gonna do in school? Have you registered for classes?
Me: no, I will register upon arrival.
VO: what kind of classes are you gonna take in studying computer science?
ME: *question took me off balance* I have not registered for classes yet, so I am not sure of the classes I will be taking in school
.
VO: *types again for ages* who is paying?
Me: Bleep ltd
VO: the company where you work?
Me: yes
VO: *types again for ages* am sorry your application does not qualify for a visa.
Me: *laughed a bit* said thanks and left.

I'm sorry you were denied bro.. But you were more like a potential immigrant.. You lack the right vibe of communication, you did not even know the courses you'll take when you get to your school.. That's bad sir.. Even if you don't know, you could just frame up something, data structure, just say something that would encourage the VO.. Absolutely you were speaking with fear in you.. We talking about computer science here, an area where united states is probably the best country to study that course, if you have said something related to best of technology service right from your first question, the vo would have probably seen you better.. Your school would probably be resuming soon and thats why o think the vo asked if you have registered classes, if you have told him yes, with some common sense lies of course you would be taking, you would have gotten the visa, you really need to work on yourself, dedicate time to make research about your school and course, you stand a very good chance of getting the visa because you are being sponsored by a company.. Go back and hit them hard, reschedule ASAP and get your visa by HIS grace..
