truth is if a consultant or someone with influence had called, that space which they claim wasn't available would have come instantly. I know UPTH, and this is the truth, when you have an emergency like this, do your possible best to revive and stabilise the patient, at least let it be known that you gave it your best shot

How can you qualify this as deplorable, don't you know the meaning of the word? Meanwhile this is the same UPTH

I was wondering why no one had mentioned walnuts, OP please chew walnuts, not is a natural cure for halitosis, mbu make sure you do the detox as advised to ensure that your guts are cleaned. A cheap way to detox is drinking warm sea salt water in the morning, go to a super market and get sea salt, not your regular iodized cooking salt o, put two teaspoons in 50cl of water and drink it, make sure you are near a toilet though. It will help flush your guts, mthen you can chew the walnuts (this is my own recommendation for halitosis)

CMGO:
@hoodboy, even without seeking to hear gazzuzz own side of the story, am certain u have not told us all that transpired b/w u both.

gazzuzz I know that is so compassionate that he can travel quite a distance to rescue a distressed vehicle and relieve the owner's pain and most often without a fee CANNOT ask u to take your vehicle back home merely becoz u requested to accompany him to the market for the purchase.

I would also want to know what you meant by calling him 'petty'

U'd better not delay apologizing to him because u will certainly need him soon.
@CMGO why not ask him what happened, rather than assume, me I've moved on. As for needing help, last I checked no one is indispensable.

I wonder what else I'd have called his behaviour if not petty. I drive all that distant after we had agreed that you'd fix my vehicle, I had even asked him on Sunday when we first met if they were going to deliver the engine to his place, and he said he'd prefers to go select, then I get there on Tuesday to drop off the vehicle for him to drop down the Engine as he had said so we can get a new one the next day, only for me to be told to drop money for engine which I didn't come with as I had assumed it was the next day it was to be gotten, and the place it would be gotten from is near my location and Inhad thought I'd follow him. Immediately I mentioned this he just got upset and asked me to leave with my vehicle, even when I tried to reason with him and reach a compromise, he wouldn't speak with me. It was at this point I reminded him of the distance and stress to which he replied he didn't care, at that point I called him petty, and I was clearly not out of place.

He owes me an apology, whether he does or not changes nothing, but he owes me one.

You! My friend! Need to grow up...

I think I agree with Ogawisdom, I believe you should call Gazzuzz..
You will definitely be better off than giving your car to a Kazeem..
Took the vehicle to Ayolola motors today, They specialise on Volkswagen and Toyota, and I like what I saw in their workshop. Did a search on NL and and found their address listed by someone who had previously used them, since they were in surulere I paid them a visit and now my car is there. I hope they get it right.

Now the thing is even when I took to Gazzuzz, he didn't even test drive the car with me, and when I suggested that he came over to pick it up so at least he can see how it drives he said he couldn't. These things help to build confidence, and perhaps is what made me want to be very much involved in the repair process. Knowing fully well that I'd be leaving with it to Port-harcourt and would not have the luxury of stopping by at his workshop if issues arise.

So fingers crossed, eventually everything is going to be alright. My issue with him was his attitude, I didn't say he should compromise his "standards", it is not like I was foretold, so I wasn't in anyway wrong to assume that I'll be part of the procurement process, not because I had it in mind to haggle price, as the price he gave me was quite competitive and I was comfortable with it.

Yes I know he's quite influential in this section as he is quite active and offers solutions to people's problems which is what even made me call him in the first instance, but If you understand the distance driven, you would know that him not giving me a listening ear was quite wrong. I still wait for him to say if I spoke to him in a rude manner or not, as some people are suggesting that might have been what happened. Will take it that he was probably on his "period"(no offence) but everyone has got issues so we have to learn to live and let live.

Mr hoodboy, all this explanations won't take you no where, trying to push faults or blame won't fix your car. Sometimes, its better to plead especially when you have a lot at stake and the other person have nothing to lose.

You're matured enough to know what I mean and what you ought to do. Or should I who have given you a mat to lie upon also teach you how to lie on it with your wife (an adage I just spoke)?
Plead? really, gazzuzz owes me an apology, whether or not he tenders it is his business. If He feels he did nothing wrong, no problem. I felt aggrieved, and I have voiced my grievance. I had a bad experience, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in sharing it

Let me get the pic straight, you drove from where to where and got there with out any money, droped your vehicle and told the mechanic you will comeback next day to go and buy engine with him?

Wow!
He had told me the engine will be purchased on wednesday, but he'd like to drop down the existing engine in the vehicle before procuring the new one, so my plan was to take down the car on tuesday so he could do his thing i.e dropping down the engine, then on wednesday we hook up and go get the replacement in Itire. If I may ask, what was wrong with that plan?

I know for a fact that Gazzuzz has been under the weather for some days. That's by the way, everybody has their own area of specialization. It is not possible to be more knowledgeable in people's area of specialization. If u can't trust Gazzuzz in the first place, it is illogical to even attempt to allow him fix your car for you. In some garages, you cannot even be granted access to the workshop floor talkless of seeing the repair work being effected on your car.
If you had gone ahead to buy the engine, and it had issues and you had to return it 3ce and for each engine installation, you are charged for Labour, you will appreciate things better.
I never said I didn't trust him, at no point was mistrust an issue, well not until he bluntly said he didn't work that way, at which point I was open to his method but the way he just shut me off completely is my grouse. Telling me to go buy the engine myself, what do I know about buying engines. If he refused to put into consideration the distance I was coming from, He should have also considered that I had also patronised him on Sunday. Granted he told me he was under the weather, which I also mentioned, but that still doesn't excuse the way he treated me.

I know it is not by force, but when you have already agreed to do something, I think it's morally binding on you to see it through, especially if the other party is open to compromise when disagreements arise.

You indirectly told your mechanic you don't trust the quotation you gave. Or in blunter words YOU FIT DE JOB ME
I never insinuated I was going to select the engine, did I? He asked for me to drop the money for the engine with his security, and I told him I didn't come out with it as he had said It would be wednesday the Engine will be bought and i was of the innocent opinion we were to go together. Never for once did I argue the price with him because it was fair enough for me.

@ Gazzuzz, you and I both know I wasn't the one who sent that message to you, neither did I sanction it nor was it sent from my phone. C4, whom you've met did, funny enough I just found out about it, and if I knew I would have called to apologise on his behalf because it is quite distasteful. Though inexcusable, I would blame it on the frustration of driving all the way down and meeting the response we met, after trying to make you see reason.

It still doesn't explain your behaviour towards me, i reminded you where I was coming from and all you said was "i don't care". Was I rude in anyway to you? I had pleaded with you to come to surulere to pick up the vehicle, but you said you couldn't so I had to ask C4 to bring me down, you know i don't drive. He skipped work for me, only for you to get all petty on us, and that's the mildest way to describe your behaviour. And to the best of my memory that was the only negative thing i said to you on Tuesday after I had reminded you of my efforts and you kept saying "I don't care".

C4 told me he got a call today, and all. I know there is no way he'd have meant what he said, don't know him to be like that and he's my best friend so I can somewhat vouch for him, though what he did was quite foolish, but then again like I said it was out of the frustration caused by you.

Eventually, I'm going to get my car fixed, "road side" or professional, you are not the only knowledgeable auto-technician in Lagos.

mayor2013:
I believe there are 2 sides to this

1) go to the market yourself without the help of gazzuzz and buy the engine yourself since you wanna be involved

2 ) Gazzuzz helps with the buying of the engine and he fully takes responsible for whatever happens since he is buying with all the experience he has on the field

As for number 1 would you want a situation where you go a bad engine believing its ok only for it to be installed and it happens to be a bad one. If the later comes into play are you gonna pay for a second installment if you are billed cos we talkn about man power here and technicality
@mayor, why will I go by myself to get the Engine, He had giving me a cost for his workmanship which i didn't even challenge or try to Haggle. Was it wrong for me to assume we were going to go get the Engine togeteher, Is it not even advisable to do so. The annoying thing is immediately I told him this, he just told me to leave with my vehicle, saying he wasn't a road side mechanic that i'll be following to get parts. Even when I tried to even reconsider my position (not like i was vehement about it sef) He kept cuting calls and not picking.

I left my house as early as 6am, if not for anything, you'd consider the stress. Granted, he told me he was under the weather, but his actions are still inexcusable. Not like I'm ever going to seek his help again, but I hope he changes. This same dude I had patronised on Sunday by paying for a scan, just to establish an initial relationship.

@coldplay007 I actually wouldn't recommend Gazzuzz to anybody, dude is quite petty. I had contacted him about my car, drove all the way from Surulere to Ogba on Saturday, he told me my engine would need to be replaced I heeded his counsel asked him to get me costing. On getting to His place today with plans of dropping off my car to return tomorrow for us to go get an Engine, dude started catching feelings, telling me "I should go look for a roadside mechanic who I will follow to the market to buy parts" for crying out loud we are talking of Engine replacement why shouldn't I be involved in the procurement process, even if I'm coming as a silent observer. Gazzuzz bluntly told me I should go back with my vehicle, just because I asked to go pick up my Engine with him. Saying I was disappointed is a huge understatement. Nonetheless I'm glad it happened at this point, not when I have invested my scarce resources and he starts to bring up shitty attitude. Same way I trusted my car to Qualityovenbake on Nairaland and he did a messed up job, coupled with the fact that he was way behind schedule.

This is highly unprofessional, the most distasteful "interview", I've ever seen. They kept hounding and harassing the man, who is a visitor on our soil, so uncalled for. And the insults, and who says it is right for the queen of England and her family to have a life long claim to the throne and wrong for Mugabe to claim same, same people that kept screaming for Gadaffi to step down and we can all see the end result. that democracy works for the U.S does not mean it will work for Zimbabwe, every country is unique, both in regards to the peculiarities of their problems and also the ways the problems can be handled. Stop shoving your opinion down everyone's throat. It is okay for gay marriage, but you criminalise polygamy. Who is right, who is wrong?
PoliticsRe: We Have No Money To Import Fuel — Marketers by hoodboy(m): 7:52am On May 24, 2015
fuel subsidy is about the only social welfare the government gives the people, my grouse with Pres. Jonathan as regards the fuel subsidy stems from what the situation was before he took over. How much did the country pay as subsidy claims during Yar'adua's Era, a president that had even reduced the pump price he had inherited and yet there were no fuel queues or subsidy issues. Then comes jonathan and all of a sudden subsidy claims under his government triples.. Every sane person should want to know why, are we that dumb that we cannot question this anomaly and all you can scream is "remove subsidy!!"
