I am very sorry 4 dis bt I think I av to do dis. I guess d writer of dis piece is just been foolish, and usless. One hw can developmental project be 4 d benefit of d rich alone, govt is meant to secure lives and property, so I ask hw can a sensible govt allow street trading and hawking its dat hw its done in EUROPE?, moreso u said it is draconic to protect traffic officer with d 100,000 fine 4 assault. This tells dat u perpetrate dis act. U foolishly said d housing project across lagos is to alienate d rich 4rm d poor, and d question is what very rich man will live in a two or one bed room flat built in rural areas. Finally on borrowing, no develop country or state in d world dat does nt borrow to develop. It may be hard now bt it 4 a long term success......remember Lagos is d most populated in nigeria. In conclusion, what d Lagos govt is doing is to bring sanity and development to Lagos state. Less I 4get, u mentioned abt d very rich and very poor u never talked abt d middle class pple who reside in lagos and enjoys d development in it or are dey nothing like Middle class? IF dis is to change d orientation of d pple toward 2015, Writer u av failed! Eko oni Ba je ooooo!!! |
January 19, 2013 | 9:41 am News Aba (Abia) - The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, says is it is criminal for the petroleum marketers to sell the product above the official pump prize of N97. Maku said this while fielding questions at Osisioma Depot, near Aba, Abia, during the Good Governance tour of the state on Friday. “It is criminal for people to come and take fuel here at N97 when the government has already paid the balance between N97 and the market prize. “You come and get government subsidy in this depot and all other depots in the country, then they move out and sell fuel at N150 per litre, this is highly criminal. “That is problem with Nigeria and that is why the President Goodluck Jonathan is insisting that with the subsidy, some people are stealing from national patrimony in subsidy. “You can see now, you are confessing that people come to the depot and buy fuel at N97 which is what the president is saying, but unfortunately for us, our people are not honest,’’ he said. Maku said that it was criminal for the marketers to get the product at N97 only to sell above it. “People talk about corruption, but there is nothing more than corruption when a citizen will come and take fuel here at N97 and sell at N150, which means he is taking N97 from government. “Taking about N60 from government subsidy and then another N50 from the public and selling close to N200 per a litre, so he invest N97 and sell to the public at almost N200. He urged the media to report such marketers and follow up the investigations. “The Federal government is subsidising fuel, some Nigerians are selling at exorbitant prizes after taking subsidy from government and government cannot be in every filling station in Nigeria, it is not possible.’’ He urged Nigerian youths to stop the attitude of destroying government infrastructure, pointing out that such action was detrimental to development. “We are talking about job, we are talking about poverty, you can never defeat poverty unless you obey law and follow due process in your area. “I know that poverty can lead to crime, but crime re-enforces poverty where you have criminality already, unless you reduce the level of crime, economic activities can never take off. “Today, we in the North are crying because of the incidence of crime and terrorism, in some areas in the North, you cannot come to work; we have seen in the South that there is a lot of development.’’ The National President of NUJ, Malam Mohammed Garba, commended the efforts of the Federal and Abia Governments for ensuring adequate security for business to thrive in Abia. “It is my prayer and hope that the existing relationship between the duo will continue, so that the people will benefit from this type of project. Chief Emeka Ananaba, the Deputy Governor of Abia, who represented the governor, said that the government would continue to ensure adequate security in the state for development to thrive. The statement credited to Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, accusing Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi of disrespecting President Goodluck Jonathan in his comments on the state of the East-West road, has elicited a sharp rebuke from the governor who has described the tenure in office of the minister as an embodiment of “ineptitude and abysmal failure” Amaechi’s response was contained in a statement released yesterday by his spokesman, David Iyofor. He said the response was to “show clearly that the minister’s game is just to divert attention from his ineptitude and abysmal failure.” The governor reiterated his tremendous respect for President Jonathan and his office and slammed the minister for painting a different picture. “The office of the President of Nigeria is a big institution that deserves utmost respect and it would be grossly irresponsible for anyone to disrespect Mr. President, which unfortunately Minister Orubebe is doing by dragging the President’s name into his inability to deliver on the East –West Road. Minister Orubebe seems to suffer from a severe form of selective amnesia as he conveniently forgets that the same Amaechi he (Orubebe) now contemptuously, disgraciously and insolently disparages and flippantly accuses of not respecting Mr. President, led Rivers people to overwhelming vote for and gave President Jonathan the highest votes by any state in the country at the last Presidential elections. “Minister Orubebe should please tell us, what respect, regard and show of love is bigger than that? Minister Orubebe’s imprudent and reckless attacks on the person of Governor Amaechi is a dubious but obvious attempt by the minister to divert attention from his abysmal failure to deliver on the East- West road. This callous attempt to drag the President’s name into it is what is most disrespectful and irresponsible.” While accusing the minister of monumental failure in office, Amaechi said: “I challenge Minister Orubebe to show the world the projects he started and completed in the Niger-Delta as Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs. I challenge Minister Orubebe to show the world one project he started and completed in Rivers State with the huge resources allocated to his ministry.” “What an irony, for an appointed minister who has failed woefully, who has been unable to complete one single road, to cast aspersions on an elected governor who is judiciously using the resources of his people to better their lives and develop their state. What a shame! This is indeed most ridiculous and laughable. It’s no longer in doubt that Minister Orubebe does not like Rivers State. “Minister Orubebe should please face the simple task of completing one road, just one road, the East-West road, as this dubious diversionary attempt to attack Governor Amaechi will not complete the road that is most dear to the hearts and lives of Niger-Deltans”, the statement added. www.informationng.com/2013/01/amaechi-descends-on-orubebe-calls-him-an-embodiment-of-ineptitude-abysmal-failure.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

Sincere 9gerian: What has the Lagos State govt been doing with its share of funds saved from partial removal of fuel subsidy? This is an important question that should bother every right thinking Nigerian/Lagosian.. For you to Make dat statement dat eko ti ba je" Shows dat u re a PDP apologist and u are only been selfish with d truth. How else do u want to see d efficiency of 300million which sums up to 3.6billion in 2012. What has d state governor not done. Question 4 u to Answere * Is he d one to Provide Electricity? * is he d one to construct d badagry road? * is it his responsibility to Fund d police and buy dem patrol van which he is doing? * is he d one to secure our water way which he is doing? * Is it d responsibility of supplying Transformers to Communities which he is doing? And so on Finally d Sure P money is meant to Purchase Buses 2 ease d effect of d fuel subsidy and I think it was reported here on NL dat fashola bought. Some buses 4 easy transportation. So What else do u want 4rm him u dis PDP low life apologist.. No matter ur propaganda U can never Win Lagos. Eko oni ba je oooo!!! |
veraponpo:GOD will seriously Bless you 4 all dis points that u av Mentioned in responce to that PDP apologist who sees nothing Good in Lagos... He shud tell me where in a civilised World Okada is used as means of transportation? Talking abt Toll gate, Maybe he has nt heard dat d F.G is planning d re-introduction of toll after d success of the Lekki- toll. On lasu b4 d increment, Lasu was d HQ of all sort of Cult Group. it was just like a Post- secondary dat wen I was in Command Ojo, I never prayed to gain Admission in2 Lasu even 4 free den. Bros if u find Nothing Good in Lagos, meet fashola for Your transport fee Back to ur Vilage. Eko o ni Baje oo!!! |
thelastPope: Does Uyo generate the IGR that Lagos generates? Some of you keep putting out this funny population argument. The population is as much an advantage as it could be a disadvantage. Fashola is using the advantage with fat IGR every month, so the excuse of population is not tenable! The average of 30 billion monthly IGR is enough to build a new city. That is over 2 trillion in 6 years! That is exclusive of FG allocation.. Why nt Give kudos to d Man 4 generating dat much. Is kano nt more populous dan Lagos? Is oyo state nt almost d same as Lagos state.? U just memtion d IGR, can u compare d FG allocation with dat of Akwa ibom... U make ur research Akwa iboms F.G allocation is far much dan Lagos IGR plus Allocation if nt *2... Abeg fashola is d Best joor |
Dis is surely 4rm anoda foolish PDP apologist... If u claim fashola did not build a single road in his tenure in lagos, u are so blind to see d green revolution in some part of lagos. U futher mention private companies doing every thing. Have u ever heard of PPP b4. Wen LASU was 25k it was full of all agency of Cult groups, infact Lasu became the hub 4 Cult groups bt since d fee was increase wen last did u hear Negative News abt Lasu? U equally talk abt hospitals, well u can be living at Ogijo nt far 4rm ikorudu or Agbara and claim to live in Lagos. Cos am sure u re nt a Lagosian, so if u re tired of lagos, sell ur house and Move elsewhere. . |
manny4life: ACN may be progressive in the SW, but they're no different than PDP - both parties are have same manifesto. ACN may indeed be perfect for SW platform, they can't go national and challenge PDP because of the simple fact of "Godfatherism" and other underlying ethnic differences.I don't know what you mean by god Fatherism bt if it is depending on one person or anoda to get electoral Vote I think it is the Bane of democracy as Obama depends on Clinton and other business Moguls to Win Election.... Bt if ur god fatherism is abt exploitation I think dey is non like dat in ACN. U can Ask Oshoimole. ACN can survive nationally as it is presently doing in Edo state aside SW. |
k2039: He is sick, so GEJ should be sent out or what was he insunating. Besides Jesus came for the sinners which include looters not the saints like him(Bankole). What Rubbish are u saying, the Man did not condemn the attendance of the president bt his right to talk on an alter of God as a politician and nt to preach... U equally mentioned repentance, wen G.O was praying 4 GEJ did u See or hear him say Amen to those Prayers? Or Were his Word Spiritual or Political? Lastly u talk Abt honour, how honourable is it 4 a serving president to kneel b4 d G.O? Abeg let's face reality joor. Baba Don Turn politician and GEJ was only only trying to gather Cheap Political points. |
kingsrod: At the end of the day if dem no carry trophy come back....dem go say why coach no carry Osaze martins and co...now he is saying the truth dem dey yab am...we siddon dey watch naOga Ade, dats no point joor. Death at a funeral, the living mourns the dead, the living joins the dead...... RIP YAkowa and Azaazi |
Regardless of the prayer pastor Adeboye renders to GEJ, GOD will not listen... Even the person Pastor Adeboye is praying For did not Open his mouth to say AMEN!! to any of the prayers. Does dis means AMEN is nt needed wen praying? |
From all the reports so far, ACN seems not to be involve in any form of violent..... Good one to the Party even if dey loose. |
Ikengawo: If we're talking about governors, the ones in the east except Amaechi and Sullivan are mediocre at best.point of correctio Ameachi is nt 4rm south east bt 4rm south- south... Those south east governors are nt Fit to be president. |
lazbay: A C N tell lies too much. I live in Osun State & I can confidently tell u that Aregbesola has demolished in 2 years more than what he can build in 8years. He has borrowed like nobody has ever done. Everytin in Osun now is standing still. Though I don't like PDP but from d look of things now, A C N is not a better option.that was hw fashola started by destroying those useless structures on water ways and abt to collapse.. Now we are all praising his government... Aregesola is less dan three years in power.. |
petitebussy: Aketi says we have just one singular project (Mother and Child) in Akure and promises to build Hospitals for Father mother and Child. How does that make sense? He doesn't seem to know that the mother and child hospital is specially created to tackle infant and maternal death which was in highest form before mimiko's government took over power,it is different from the State Hospital which is set to treat different kinds of ailments.Oke of all people says he is going to decentralize the Mother and Child in Akure, but one thing this two candidates fail to know is that this mother and child is a referral centre where people come from all parts of the country and it is in Akure so it could be easily accessible. There is no way the olodo of ondo (Aketi) is ever going to be our Governor!Read ur foolish defence abt the mother and Child project.. It is to stop infant and maternal death. So u mean ppe 4rm Owo, Akungba, ikare, ondo, ikale will travel down to Akure just to give birth?. .. I think it is better u think b4 talking... Such projects ought to av been decentralised cos it is nt only in Akure pregnant women live neither is it sensible to encourage pple 4rm other area to Akure to deliver babes... Pls be rational |
Prof Corruption: Nobody takes this type of debate seriously in Nigeria. It's just a media hype. The election is too close to call between ACN and LP. The only party that does not have any chance is PDP! The ACN political guns have smartly framed this campaign as a battle between political parties, not individuals. Fortunately for them, that's the general perception out there. So murdering adjective or killing verbs neither adds to nor subtracts from the overall analysis.Bravo!!! What a good political Analyst.... I love dis |
Roland17: OOOO my God!!!! how on earth did Akeredolu become a SAN with such cancerous sentence construction and speaking skills? Naija i hail thee oooSAN award is nt given to those who knows hw to shout bt pple who are intelligent and av won so man cases in court..... Mimiko has failed..#shekena |
Roland17: OOOO my God!!!! how on earth did Akeredolu become a SAN with such cancerous sentence construction and speaking skills? Naija i hail thee ooomumu na him u be.... Must everybody be outspoken like mimiko and oke who have been feeding us with lies.... He is a soft spoken lawyer and mimiko just attested to that.... Action speaks louder than voice. |
lazbay: A C N tell lies too much. I live in Osun State & I can confidently tell u that Aregbesola has demolished in 2 years more than what he can build in 8years. He has borrowed like nobody has ever done. Everytin in Osun now is standing still. Though I don't like PDP but from d look of things now, A C N is not a better option.he has borrowed because Osun is among the poorest state in nigeria.... And his pple want better government. So he is left with no choice than to borrow for as long as it is nt embezzled |
. All your points over there are lughable except the issue of LASU.
