As an Igbo who supported Jonathan in the last presidential election,i can say without apologies that am fully in support of GMB in the coming election,am tired of people playing the ethnic and religious card whenever election comes around at the expense of competence and good governance,in more than 5years of Jonathan's rule, what have the S'East got to show for it?why should i continue to support somebody who has obviously failed my people, nay Nigerians?
Jonathan is a silent achiever, yesterday he launched
railway service from Enugu to Port Harcourt. He signed a
fast rail service from Lagos to Calabar that we see on
foriegn tv with over 40 train stops. Agriculture was
recently given pass mark from FAO. Nigeria Economy
became the biggest in Africa and he built universities in
states without a federal universities. What else do you
educated South want? If Hausa/Fulani say no,its
understandable.They never wanted a Southerner and a
Christian to govern Nigeria since Buhari made us join
Organisation of Islamic Countries in 1982. Their desire is
for Nigeria to be a sharia country!

IJAW YOUTHS THREATEN ATTACK ON BUHARI’S
SUPPORTERS.
Ijaw youths have threatened to attack supporters of the
presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress,
Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in southern part of
Nigeria.
The youths said on Sunday that they would visit Buhari’s
supporters in the South with violence if the loyalists of
President Goodluck Jonathan should be attacked in the
North.
The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide said the decision to
attack Buhari’s supporters was informed by reports that
some persons in the North had resorted to sending open
threat messages to pro-Jonathan governors and other
supporters.
In a statement by the IYC spokesperson, Mr. Eric Omare,
the youths said, “All Nigerians irrespective of his or her
place of origin has a right to contest for the presidency of
Nigeria and Nigerians have a right to support any
candidate of their choice without molestation.
“It would be recalled that hundreds of Nigerians, especially
NYSC members were killed and properties worth millions
of naira destroyed in the aftermath of the 2011 elections
as a result of similar undemocratic disposition of some
elements in the North.”
“We of southern Nigeria have not at any time threatened
or attacked supporters of General Buhari; hence any threat
or attack on supporters of President Jonathan in the north
would be visited with proportionate action from us in the
south.
“Governors Amaechi, (Rochas) Okorocha and (Adams)
Oshiomole; Timipre Silva, John Oyegun, Bola Tinubu and
other supporters of General Buhari in southern Nigeria are
going about their campaigns without any molestation
from southerners.
“Enough is enough for those who promised and are
making northern Nigeria ungovernable for President
Jonathan. If they want their own country, let them say so
as we can no longer accept the ‘Extreme North Must Rule’
mentality of some northerners.”

My good man, you cannot blame the likes of this entertainer cum hustler. Folks like her have never been exposed to civilised society and are only aware of the 'Nigerian way' which is always about a small group of people accumulating massive wealth at the expense of the majority. In most nations of the world, you do not become rich automatically because you are a General in the Army or a former head of State. Those positions requires exemplary focus and dedication to duty which tends to rule out any chance of opportunist wealth acquisition for dedicated leaders.

The belief of lofty office = stupendous wealth only holds true in Nigeria because our nation is a morally warped geographical space where many abuse influential positions to make themselves hideously rich to the detriment of the populace. This is why Nigeria is a mess today to the extent something as fundamental as electricity, taken for granted in most nations of the world, remains a luxury in Nigeria today.

It beggars belief that some Nigerians can claim Buhari did wrong for not abusing his lofty office in the army and in governance to emerge stupendously rich as other like IBB, OBJ, Danjuma et al managed. Buhari did the right thing at every stage and as a principled man devoted to duty and service above materialism. The man is consumed with delivering a better Nigeria. He has never told anyone he is a business guru , like Dangote,or an oil bloc profiteer like Danjuma et al.

In many Countries of the world you will find outstanding professionals and men/women of integrity who contributed immensely to the advancement of humanity and are happy to live on a pension in their latter years. Money never meant anything to those people. Buhari is in that category. His proven ability and commitment to fighting for a Nigeria that works for ordinary Nigerians, and not the private jet Oligarchs, is what has endeared him to sensible Nigerians currently.
In that case he should stay off governing , He is a waste , he is not contributing to the economy in any way and claims to have the remedy , how ironic , I said it before , and I will say it again there is no defending buhari he is not electable. APC really disappoint learned people with buhari as a candidate , its only people who chose to be ignorant to what nigeria really needs that clamor for an Idle president wannabe ,

We are in a period where we desperately need to diversify our sources of income away from oil.
If Buhari couldn't manage his million naira salaries and pensions or diverify his sources of income, how is he supposed to help Nigeria diversify its sources of income?
When he was asked about diversification of our sources of revenue in the channels interview, he said he will stabilize oil prices.
The man has no idea whatsoever.
MY Brother Tell Them , APC is very useless to field Buhari as an agent of change , I can be sentimental at times but there is no defending Buhari as a messiah , not a chance

I maintain you are so used to embezzlements that you believe everyone who took all those roles you just mentioned should be entitled to some cool millions of Nairas in his accounts. Your mentality is so that of Yahoo Yahoo young man. Who knows your parent could just be one of the leaders who continue to dip their hands into Nigeria's coffers and live larger than life ostentatious lifestyle. Once again your mentality brought us here and sorry Buhari refused to lead such a life and that doesn't in any way impact his managerial abilities.
Don't You see you are foolish , Must you embezzle to be productive as a human being , did dangote become president , since 1985 buhari could not upgrade his education , he just sat doing nothing , its a real pity , You shouldn't defend laziness just because of political or tribal sentiments .

Jonathan won’t sign anti-violence agreement –
Presidency
The Presidency said on Tuesday that there was
no need for President Goodluck Jonathan to
heed the suggestion by a former Minister of
External Affairs, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, to sign
an agreement to restrain supporters against
violence during the 2015 general elections.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and
Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said this in an
interview with our correspondent.
Abati was asked to respond to a call by
Akinyemi that Jonathan and the presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress,
Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), should
sign an undertaking that they would control
their supporters against violence before, during
and after the election.
He said, “The President does not need to sign
an agreement for him to achieve something that
he is fully committed and of which he has been
very consistent.
“Free, fair and credible elections constitute one
of the major legacies of this administration for
which President Jonathan is proud of.
“He proved the point in the conduct of the 2011
general elections and it is public knowledge
that every election that has been conducted
under President Jonathan’s watch has been
successful, free, fair and credible.
“Even when it is an election which the
opposition is the winner, he has always been
the first to congratulate the opposition.
“In his messages to Nigerians as the head of
the nation, he has always called on the
professional political class and the society in
general to eschew violence because for him, he
has always said that nobody’s blood is worth
his ambition.”
Abati said people like Akinyemi and other
Nigerians should be worried about those who
had openly threatened fire and brimstone over
the elections.
He said, “The people that we should be worried
about are the people who have been openly
threatening fire and brimstone over an election
that they have not yet participated.
“You were in this country when one character
said that they will form a parallel government.
You were in this country when another
character said that heaven will fall if they do
not win the election.
“You were in this country when some characters
claimed that they have already set up a cabinet
over an election which they have not yet
participated.”

tinacrl01:

Mrs. Hillary Clinton, the former US Secretary of State in separate events in New York City said the Nigerian government under President Goodluck Jonathan, squandered its oil resources, and indirectly helps corruption to fester in the troubled country.

Legislators on Capitol Hill have also called for the United States to do more to help the Nigerian government.

Clinton also blasted wider decisions made by the Nigerian government during the public interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

“Nigeria has made bad choices, not hard choices” Clinton said, parroting the name of her forthcoming memoir.

“They have squandered their oil wealth, they have allowed corruption to fester and now they are losing control of parts of their territory because they wouldn’t make hard choices.”

In late April, heavily armed Islamic militants stormed a girl’s dormitory at the Government Girls Secondary School in the Nigerian town of Chibok. Upwards of 270 students were kidnapped and days later, Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said in a video statement that he planned to sell them into slavery. More than 50 got away and the remaining are the subject of the search.

The kidnappings quickly gained international attention by using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. The hashtag has been used to update people on the state of the search, but also to criticize the Nigerian government for their handling of the kidnapping.

The Nigerian government has defend its handling of the matter.

The former secretory of state strengthened her criticism of the Nigerian government later in the night at the International Crisis Group’s annual award dinner.

“The Nigerian government has failed to confront the threat or to address the underlying challenges,” Clinton said of the kidnappings. “Most of all, the government of Nigeria needs to get serious about protecting all of its citizens… and ensuring the every child has the right and opportunity to go to school.”

Standing in front of high profile financiers and donors at the opulent Waldorf Astoria, Clinton went on to urge Nigerian citizens to hold their leaders accountable and implored religious leaders, Nigeria’s neighbors, the African Union and the international community to continue to stay involved in finding the schoolgirls.

“Every asset and expertise should be brought to bear,” Clinton said. “Everyone needs to see this for what it is, it is a gross human rights abuse but it is also part of a continuing struggle within Nigeria and within North Africa.”

In addition to addressing the situation in Nigeria, Clinton used much of her speech to discuss her record at state and particularly highlighted her work in opening the government of Burma. Republicans have criticized Clinton for what they say is a lack of notable accomplishments as America’s top diplomat.

While Wednesday’s comments were Clinton’s first statements about the kidnappings, the former first lady has joined in on the social media campaign, too.

Clinton has joined in on the social media campaign, too.

“Access to education is a basic right & an unconscionable reason to target innocent girls. We must stand up to terrorism. #BringBackOurGirls,” she tweeted on May 4.
AMERICA IS NOT OUR FRIEND , THEY REFUSED TO SELL WEAPONS TO US AND BLOCKED US FROM BUYING FROM OTHERS, IF THEY SUPPORT BUHARI , THEN WE ARE NOT SUPRISED BECAUSE ALL CLINTON IS SAYING HERE IS TRASH

Nigerians must be careful not to give the people of the
South-South the impression that while we continue to
exploit their oil,
we refuse to recognize them as equal partners in Nigeria.
It can be argued that we have already accommodated
them since Goodluck Jonathan has been president for six
years. But I beg to disagree.
In the last six years, the “born to rule” elements in the
North have not allowed Goodluck Jonathan to rule.
All sorts of schemes have been used to frustrate his
administration
Even the prerogative for a party with a majority in the
House of Representatives to have its own speaker was
betrayed on the altar of ethnic chauvinism.
We also had the unedifying situation where the Governor
of the Central Bank went rogue, gave government funds to
the opposition and cast aspersions publically against the
government. That is not done.

Politics / Re: Spend N21.27bn Donation On Electricity, Buhari Group Tells Jonathan by HugeMac: 8:55am On Dec 22, 2014
On Muhammadu Buhari
I have never heard of any school built in his
name, have never seen any borehole
constructed by him. There is no record of any
scholarship awarded by him or for him nor
through him.
I have never seen him use his popularity to
canvass for any charitable work nor any
humanitarian effort. Not even at the height of
the polio scourge where other purposeful and
prominent leaders lead the campaign for
immunization.
No single text book has been donated to any
school either by him, for him or through him.
Asides from doing nothing, he has not
improved himself since his exit from office. No
books written, no memoirs, no lectures, nothing.
The only thing of note he can point to are his
numerous interviews on the BBC Hausa station.
He never championed for a University in his
state nor has he ever been involved in any kind
of programme to better the lives of the
Alimanjiris in Daura. His entire existence has
not lead to any meaningful development in
Daura yet they say he can change Nigeria.
Doesn't charity begin at home again?
No wonder he was referred to as being
"perpetually unelectable"
He is not a patron to any organization, group
or association. No professional body in Nigeria
has ever invited him for their lecture,
convention or Gala Night.
The only time any known form, body or human
assemblage ever chose him to do anything for
them was when the Boko Haram terrorist sect
nominated him as their spoke person in the
proposed talks with the Fed. Govt.
Is there any wonder why he says the BH
scourge will end if he is elected?

@HugeMac:
I honestly believe you are a patriotic person and want the best for this country.
How l wish Nigerians have other candidates to chose from. personally, l would have prefered someone like Fashola on the Presidential ballot, ... and l am a Christian by faith.

But let me ask you this question: If "AGE" were a major issue with regards to "intellect and performance" (since you step-down Buhari over his "age"wink do you not think that Jonathan who was V.P at 43years and President at 45years, should have transformed Nigeria, in the last SEVEN YEARS?

Of what benefit has his "young age" been, to Nigerians and Nigeria?

Mind you, l agree that Nigeria does not need a President at any age above 45years sef!

As for being a Muslim, do you honestly believe a Muslim cannot rule well?
Is Fashola not a Muslim? Have you heard Christians in Lagos complaining about him?
Ponder over these things for a minute.

Any muslim can rule well but don't mention buhari , he is a known agitator for the spread of sharia in the country and he expressed it openly not once but twice ,
