@Goodfaith pls can you explain how one bag of cement will set 100pcs of block because if 4500block only 45bag of cement was used to set it that mean 1bag of cement for 100pcs of block I think this is bad job for good construction works one bag of cement should set 70pcs of block thanks

Be very careful of contractors there in Nairaland
Lot of the contractor are looking for one night stand
A friend of my have three floors of two bedroom (6 flats) lagos )
cost of buying the land and the building carcass was 24 million
Cost of labor from German floor including the first decking was 1 million
Somebody was telling other friend of my just decking 5 million
what are the total number of number you need from German floor to decking , I will say 4500
cost of one block ---160 to 200
4500 block or less will cost 720k to 900k
total cost of iron can not be up to 1 million
cement to set block 4500 is 45 bags

Op if your Engineer gave you a quoation on grantie 30 ton at 250k will advise you to pay him because I brought mind 25ton at220k in imo state I discovered that the price of building materials is very expensive down in the east than any other place in nigerian

Opi think it is very bad to do sure work in raining season because it is an old building and as sure dry season should be the best period to carry out sure project and ask for the fund i will advice you to start buying some of the materiale down remember dry season materiale always cost much you can as well paid down materiale like roof sheet etc i wish you best of luck

@ malkomx first I must congratulate you for the good work you are doing but I must also say to you that you don't just post pictures to us on this forum without taking us on various steps which you carry out to get we you are secondly the need to state cost of materials with this we the members on this forum will be able to know the Cost of various building materials within the location which you are doing the project and sure others who wish to start sure building projects will be able to know whst is head of them thanks

@pstnas1990 from your statements u mean that the sum 458,000 is what you have spend from foundation to this very stage the work has being done because from start of this project you did not state the amounts which spent on foundationto dpc ,well for me quotation of using plank for lintel and Columus is ok

@op I don't know why people keep saying what is not true 9inches blocks is the best for any construction work those that wish to 6 or inches block is beca use they want managed their resources does not mean everyone will now used tor 6 for their buildings work ok please don't mind them maker use of 9inches this will give your buildings strong and good shapes thanks

The issue I’m having is that someone(either an engineer or site contractor I don’t know) my bro suggested for the work told me to mould a 9itches block and I have done that already, Was surprised when someone told me that 9itches block is not mainly used for bungalows instead 5 or 6itches block is preferable and I have already spent a a lot on that. Pls any builders in the house who reside in into or beyond and with beautiful designs can drop his/ her contact here...thanks
