GENERAL FARUK YAHAYA SERVES DEMAND NOTICES OVER DEFAMATORY TERRORISM ALLEGATIONS

Lieutenant General (Dr) Faruk Yahaya (rtd) CFR NAM, Zaruman Sokoto, former Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army, has taken firm legal action to clear his name and defend his integrity following the circulation of false and malicious allegations linking him to alleged terrorism financiers by Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi (rtd) during an interview with Arise News and further amplified by Sahara Reporters. Acting through his legal team led by Mohammed Ndayako SAN, General Yahaya (rtd), has served formal demand notices on Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi (rtd), as well as the management of Arise News and Sahara Reporters, over the contents of defamatory interviews, reports, and publications widely circulated in recent days.

The demand notices, dated 17th December 2025, give the affected parties seventy-two (72) hours from the date of the receipt of the demand notices to retract the false allegations, issue unreserved public apologies and immediately cease further publication or dissemination of the claims. Failure to comply will result in legal action.

General Yahaya’s decision to pursue legal redress is aimed not only at protecting his personal honour, but also at discouraging the dangerous spread of unverified allegations capable of undermining public trust in national institutions and those who have served the nation with distinction.

He remains committed to the rule of law, accountability, professionalism, truth and will not allow falsehoods driven by malice or personal grievances to go unchallenged.

PoliticsBuratai Sues Ali-keffi For ₦1bn Over Alleged Terrorism Defamation by Hunter2009(op): 3:34pm On Jan 08
Buratai Sues Ali-Keffi for ₦1bn Over Alleged Terrorism Defamation

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (retd.), has instituted a ₦1 billion defamation suit against another retired senior military officer, Maj. Gen. Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi (retd.), before the Kaduna State High Court.

The suit, filed on January 8, 2026, at the Kaduna Judicial Division of the High Court, accuses Ali-Keffi of making and circulating allegedly false, malicious and defamatory statements linking Gen Buratai to terrorism financing, Boko Haram suspects, and the illegal release and concealment of terror suspects.

Buratai, through his counsel, A.I. Aliyu and A.M. Hassan of Law Plus Consult, is seeking declarations that the statements credited to the defendant and published on several online platforms, including Sahara Reporters and other news and social media outlets, are defamatory and injurious to his reputation.

According to court documents, the plaintiff contends that the defendant granted interviews in 2025 in which he allegedly insinuated that Buratai had links to terror suspects and financiers, and that he was involved in conspiracies to cover up terrorism-related activities during his tenure as Chief of Army Staff.

The former army chief maintains that the publications were widely circulated online and on social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp and Instagram, giving the allegations national and international reach.

In his statement of claim, Buratai described the allegations as entirely false, stressing that he has never been investigated, indicted or convicted for terrorism, terrorism financing or any related offence.

He argued that the statements portrayed him as corrupt, unpatriotic and complicit in acts inimical to Nigeria’s national security, thereby gravely damaging his reputation, honour and standing locally and internationally.

He further alleged that the defendant acted recklessly and maliciously, despite admitting in the same publications that no investigation had established Buratai’s involvement in terrorism financing.

Buratai is asking the court to order Ali-Keffi to immediately retract the alleged defamatory statements and publish an unreserved public apology with equal prominence in Sahara Reporters, two national newspapers, and on all social media platforms where the statements were circulated.

The plaintiff is claiming ₦1 billion as general damages for libel and injury to reputation, citing the gravity of terrorism-related allegations, the wide circulation of the publications, and the defendant’s status as a retired senior military officer.

In addition, Buratai is seeking a perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further publishing or repeating the alleged defamatory statements, as well as an order compelling him to pay the full cost of the suit, including solicitor’s fees.

The writ of summons directs Ali-Keffi to enter an appearance within 21 days of service, failing which the court may proceed to hear the matter in his absence.

As of the time of filing this report, no date has been fixed for the commencement of hearing, and the defendant has not filed a response to the suit.

PoliticsThe Unseen War: How Accusation Becomes A Weapon And Paralysis Becomes Victory In by Hunter2009(op): 9:40am On Jan 01
THE UNSEEN WAR: HOW ACCUSATION BECOMES A WEAPON AND PARALYSIS BECOMES VICTORY IN A NATION UNDER SIEGE

The true corrosion of prolonged conflict is the transformation of public language, where accusatory labels like "terrorist" or "traitor" become political currency and weapons of war. This creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, as seen in Sri Lanka, where the state's broad ethnic labelling of Tamils as terrorists eradicated the middle ground. By equating an entire ethnic identity with disloyalty, the state validated the LTTE's propaganda and pushed moderates toward armed rebellion, effectively creating the very threat it feared.

This instrumental use of accusation is replicated elsewhere, providing ideological fuel for crackdowns and destroying any will for compromise. In Myanmar, the relentless official framing of the Rohingya as "illegal immigrants" and "terrorists" built a wall instead of a bridge, empowering hardliners and convincing the persecuted that resistance was their only recourse. Nigeria now navigates similar peril, where public allegations against high traditional or religious authorities are repurposed by insurgents as recruiting propaganda, grafting local grievances onto a narrative of civilizational war and radicalizing new followers.

Furthermore, this atmosphere of suspicion systematically cripples the state’s capacity to respond, paralyzing governance and security. When every figure fears being branded a secret enemy, collaboration across fragile ethnic and political lines breaks down. This societal psychosis mirrors 1950s America’s McCarthyism, where the reckless label of "communist sympathizer" ruined lives through fear rather than evidence, stifling discourse and poisoning politics. In Nigeria, the result is a collection of distrustful silos, where the safest option becomes inaction, allowing only the insurgency to grow.

The escape from this trap requires a disciplined return to the principles insurgency seeks to destroy. The state must let independent investigations, not public accusations, lead, upholding the rule of law as the sole instrument of justice and protecting bridge-building community leaders. For the people, it demands courageous discernment—a patriotism that questions explosive claims and rejects demonization, upholding the doctrine of innocence until proven guilty. Ultimately, Nigeria's security depends on fighting not only the insurgency but for its own soul, refusing to surrender humanity and trust to the very forces it seeks to defeat.

2026 Will Be a Year of Divine Shaking and National Rebirth – Prophet Omotosho Tope Joseph

CALABAR, CROSSRIVER STATE— As Nigeria prepares to enter 2026, Prophet Omotosho Tope Joseph has released a series of prophetic declarations that he says will shape the nation’s political, economic, and spiritual landscape in the coming year.

Describing 2026 as a season of “divine shaking,” the cleric said the year will witness a collision between spiritual forces and national governance, resulting in major transformations as well as grave warnings.
Security Concerns and Calls for Prayer
Prophet Joseph began with what he described as a “prophecy alert,” urging Nigerians to pray fervently against fire outbreaks, kidnappings—particularly in schools—and other security threats. According to him, destructive fire incidents have been spiritually orchestrated and must be resisted through prayer.

He also warned of a potential aviation disaster, stating that only divine intervention would avert a major plane crash, which he said could otherwise trigger political instability for the current administration.
Political Shifts and National Identity
On governance, the Prophet predicted significant policy reversals in favor of the masses, attributing the expected changes to divine intervention rather than political pressure.

He further revealed that some government institutions may undergo name changes, while conversations around Nigeria’s national identity—including its name and flag—could intensify. However, he cautioned that cosmetic changes alone would not resolve the nation’s foundational problems.
“Nigeria is a deeply spiritual nation,” he said, adding that true transformation must go beyond symbols.

Economic Outlook and Investment
Despite global economic uncertainty, Prophet Joseph projected a positive outlook for Nigeria’s economy in 2026. He predicted increased foreign investment, with several powerful nations showing renewed interest in the country.

In the oil sector, he claimed a hidden network of interests would be exposed and dismantled, leading to improved production outcomes. He also described 2026 as a promising year for cryptocurrency investors, though he warned of fluctuations and urged calm during market volatility.

On food security, the Prophet said Nigeria could emerge as a regional solution hub amid shortages elsewhere, provided farmers are adequately protected through advanced security measures.

Warnings for Political and Financial Elites

Prophet Joseph issued a stern warning to high-ranking officials, including governors, ministers, and banking executives, claiming some would seek medical treatment abroad but would not return alive.

He singled out Senate President Godswill Akpabio for special prayer, describing him as divinely favored but spiritually vulnerable. In the South-South region, he cautioned Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara against undermining former Governor Nyesom Wike, whom he described as politically strategic and enduring.

Global Conflict and Spiritual Revival

Internationally, the Prophet foresaw a large-scale conflict involving five powerful nations against the United States and Israel. However, he maintained that both countries would emerge stronger despite the opposition.

Spiritually, he predicted a massive revival in Nigeria and Zambia, marked by what he described as angelic visitations and a surge of conversions to Christianity.

Looking Ahead

Concluding his prophecy, Prophet Joseph expressed optimism for national peace, stating that the security challenges experienced in 2025 would not carry over into 2026.

“The Holy Ghost will invite peace into our security sector,” he said, urging Nigerians to seek God rather than political personalities as the new year unfolds.

Why Nigerians Can’t Afford to Ignore Taxizi — Generate Your Tax Through Taxizi
...The New App Turning Tax Confusion Into Clarity

In a country where tax compliance remains one of the most misunderstood civic responsibilities, a Nigerian technology firm has introduced an innovation that could significantly reshape how individuals and businesses understand and manage their tax obligations.

Smoothwave Entertainment Ltd has launched Taxizi, Nigeria’s first all-in-one tax calculator app designed to demystify the nation’s often complex tax system. The platform aims to make tax calculation smarter, faster, and far less intimidating for millions of Nigerians—ranging from civil servants and freelancers to content creators, lawyers, musicians, producers, small business owners, and corporate organisations.

Available on iOS, https://apps.apple.com/ee/app/taxizi/id6754260086, Android,
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.taxizi.app, and the web, Taxizi enables users to instantly compute key tax obligations, including Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), Value Added Tax (VAT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT), and Withholding Tax (WHT), using verified data aligned with guidelines from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). The app can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Speaking on the motivation behind the product, Smoothwave’s Chief Operating Officer and Creative Director, Mr. Kevin David Ichekor, said the app was created to address a widespread national challenge—lack of clarity around taxes.

“Tax reforms and tax compliance are still vague to many Nigerians. Our goal with Taxizi is to bring transparency, simplicity, and accessibility to the tax space,” Ichekor said. “We wanted to create a tool that helps Nigerians understand their tax obligations without the confusion or fear that often surrounds the process.”

The platform was developed by Smoothwave’s in-house IT team, led by Mr. Michael Olaleye, who translated Nigeria’s intricate tax framework into a clean, intuitive digital interface accessible to everyday users.

Making Tax Literacy Simple and Accessible

Taxizi’s key strength lies in its ease of use. Users simply input income details, allowances, and optional deductions, after which the app instantly produces a clear and comprehensive tax breakdown.

Although Taxizi is not a tax-filing platform, it offers real-time calculations and is already being prepared for advanced integrations such as TIN verification, secure tax payments, and potential TIN/TID generation.

“By making tax easier to understand, we are contributing to a more accountable economy,” Olaleye said.

Supporting Nigeria’s Digital Tax Reform Drive

As the Federal Government and FIRS intensify efforts to digitise tax administration under evolving reform frameworks, analysts say platforms like Taxizi could accelerate public adoption of digital tax tools and improve voluntary compliance.

Accessible via www.taxizi.ng, the platform operates under the mission-driven tagline: “Calculate. Pay. Build the Economy.”
It also maintains an expanding digital footprint, including educational content on YouTube at @Taxizi.

The Future of Tax Convenience

Smoothwave Entertainment says the launch of Taxizi marks only the first phase of a broader vision. Planned future upgrades include:

Official API integrations with national tax authorities

Secure in-app tax payment systems

Corporate tax reporting and analytics tools

A potential TIN and TID generation framework

Describing the initiative as more than a software product, Ichekor said:
“Taxizi is the beginning of a movement—to make civic responsibility digital, simple, and smart.”

With its blend of technology, education, and user-centric design, Taxizi is positioning itself as a critical tax companion in Nigeria’s digital economy—one that individuals, businesses, and creators alike may soon find impossible to ignore.

Yuletide Get-Together: NASRE Reaches Out To Media Practitioners, Beneficiaries

The Nigerian Association of Social and Resourceful Editors (NASRE) has held its final outreach programme for the year, tagged “Yuletide Outreach / Get-Together,” offering comfort, support, and a sense of togetherness to families of media practitioners in Lagos.

The event took place at The City Pulse Lounge, LTV8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, and featured a warm, family-friendly atmosphere marked by interaction and informal engagement between NASRE leaders and beneficiaries.

At the outreach, the association formally accommodated five new beneficiaries and extended support to 10 existing beneficiaries, with the gathering designed as an interactive session rather than a ceremonial event. The programme also attracted over 10 media colleagues from various media organisations, who witnessed what many described as a unique family fun fair within the media community.

Speaking on behalf of the President of NASRE, Comrade Femi Oyewale, the Event Committee Chairman, Mr. Adebayo Adetu, conveyed the President’s goodwill and Yuletide message to beneficiaries and guests. He reaffirmed the association’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of media practitioners and their families, particularly during challenging periods, while urging members to continue fostering unity, compassion, and mutual support within the profession.

As part of the outreach, Rite Foods Limited also extended its support by providing its products to beneficiaries, a gesture that further complemented the association’s welfare drive and added value to the festive gathering.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Esther Thomas, widow of late veteran entertainment journalist Peter Thomas, popularly known as “The Groove Master,” expressed deep appreciation to NASRE for its consistency and compassion. Peter Thomas, who passed away on November 25, 2021, was a respected figure in the Nigerian entertainment media space.

The late journalist worked with notable publications including Fame Magazine, Global Excellence, THISDAY and The Punch, and played a significant role in shaping the careers of several Nigerian music stars. Through impactful write-ups and strategic publicity, he contributed to the rise of artistes such as Don Jazzy and D’Banj (Mo’Hits Crew), P-Square, K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma, Atawewe, KCee, Atorise and Presh, Yinka Best, among others.

According to Mrs. Thomas, NASRE was the first and only media association to visit her family after her husband’s demise and later returned with even greater support. She described the gesture as rare and reassuring, noting that the association’s interventions demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of its members and their families.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Aponmade, widow of late Kayode Aponmade, also expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of herself and her children.

“On behalf of myself and my children, we say a big thank you to NASRE for making today’s get-together a memorable one. The money you described as a token has gone a long way for us. May God continue to elevate you all in your endeavours. We are truly grateful,” she said.

A newly admitted beneficiary, Mr. Adeshola Akeem, a weekend reporter with The Sun, applauded the initiative, describing it as reassuring and encouraging. He said the outreach reinforced the idea that beyond professional engagements, there exists a supportive network of colleagues who function as friends and family, always ready to look out for one another.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Dapo Oshin, commended NASRE for its support and called for greater attention to educational assistance, noting that support for children at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels would provide lasting relief to affected families. She described the initiative as thoughtful and impactful, with long-term benefits for beneficiaries.

The programme ended on a note of gratitude and shared commitment to sustaining welfare-focused initiatives that strengthen bonds within the media profession.

NASRE, the Nigerian Association of Social and Resourceful Editors, is a professional body of media practitioners across print, broadcast, and digital platforms, dedicated to collaboration, innovation, capacity development, and the promotion of welfare and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s media industry.

PoliticsTension Brews In Edo Community As Chieftaincy Dispute Sparks Threats To Peace by Hunter2009(op):
Tension Brews in Edo Community as Chieftaincy Dispute Sparks Threats to Peace

Uneme-Osu, Edo State — A simmering chieftaincy dispute in Uneme-Osu Community, Edo State, is rapidly escalating into a grave security concern, as community leaders and stakeholders raise alarm over alleged intimidation, threats to life, and a looming breakdown of law and order.

The crisis centres on the disputed claim to the office of Village Head by Mr. Frederick Lucky Iyogun, also known as Fredrick Nyogun, whose emergence has been widely rejected by a majority of indigenes on grounds of alleged violations of long-established customs and traditions.

With tension at a boiling point, residents warn that timely intervention by the Edo State Governor, the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commissioner of Police is now critical to avert possible bloodshed, particularly ahead of a scheduled community meeting on December 26.

Tradition at the Heart of the Crisis
Uneme-Osu operates a matrilineal system of succession, governed by a clearly defined traditional process. Under this system, nomination is made through the appropriate maternal kindred, followed by presentation to king makers, scrutiny and approval, coronation by the Odio, presentation to the Clan Head, and final ratification by the relevant government authority.

Community elders insist that any deviation from this process is invalid and capable of triggering communal unrest.
However, according to multiple stakeholders, the process that produced Mr. Iyogun allegedly bypassed critical traditional institutions, including the king makers and the Odio. His selection was reportedly conducted through a family-based election, a method elders describe as alien to Uneme-Osu tradition.

Allegations of Irregularities and Political Shielding

Beyond procedural violations, serious allegations have emerged, including claims of commercialization of the process, bribery, and the use of questionable or falsified documents to secure official recognition.
Adding to the controversy, community sources allege that Mr. Iyogun previously served as an aide to former Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. They claim that during that period, repeated alarms raised by king makers and elders over the alleged illegal selection process were ignored, a development residents say emboldened the disputed claimant and deepened the crisis.

Historical records, including the Partridge Report of 1957, affirm that village headship in Uneme communities is rotational—a principle already practiced in Erhuru and Ekpedo. Community sources insist the same principle applies to Uneme-Osu.
Although the Iyogun (Udochi) Kindred had previously proposed a rotational arrangement, elders note that the proposal was rejected by other kindreds due to unacceptable conditions, rendering it invalid.
Legitimacy Strongly Disputed
The community overwhelmingly recognizes Dr. S. O. Irune of the Okakwu Kindred, crowned in 2010, as the legitimate Village Head. The emergence of Mr. Iyogun—reportedly from the same kindred—has therefore raised fundamental questions about who nominated him and under what lawful authority.

Further controversy surrounds an alleged kindred known as “Ovbafo’ba”, cited in support of Mr. Iyogun’s claim. Elders describe the group as unknown to Uneme-Osu tradition and possibly fictitious.
Compounding the issue, the Odio, traditionally empowered to crown a Village Head, reportedly refused to crown Mr. Iyogun. Critics argue that any coronation carried out without the Odio’s consent is null and void under customary law.

Security Concerns Escalate
Since parading himself as Village Head, Mr. Iyogun has been accused of harassing and intimidating perceived opponents, as well as imposing illegal fines and levies on villagers, many of whom are already economically vulnerable.

Residents warn that these actions have intensified tension and could spark violent confrontation if urgent intervention is not taken.

“This is no longer just a traditional disagreement,” a community leader said. “It has become a serious security issue that threatens lives and public order.”

Petition to CP IGP MONITIRING UNIT , CP EDO STATE AND DGSS.

Concerned indigenes have formally petitioned the CP IGP monitoring unit, CP Edo state and DGSS, urging it to direct the Nigeria Police Force to immediately caution Mr. Iyogun, restrain him from parading himself as Village Head, and compel him to sign a written undertaking to cease all forms of intimidation and unlawful activities.
They also called for a thorough investigation into the documents used to secure his recognition, including forensic verification where necessary, and the deployment of proactive security measures to prevent violence, especially ahead of the December 26 meeting.

Call for Urgent Intervention

Community leaders are appealing to the Edo State Government, security agencies, and traditional institutions to act swiftly to restore peace, uphold tradition, and prevent Uneme-Osu from sliding into an avoidable crisis.

As tension continues to mount, residents warn that silence or delay could prove costly, stressing that prompt, decisive intervention remains the only path to stability, justice, and lasting peace in the community.

THE BURATAI CONUNDRUM: A STRATEGIC DISSERVICE TO NATIONAL INTEREST

By Femi Oyewale

In the arduous task of national stewardship, where every resource must be harnessed, a profound paradox persists. At a time demanding consolidated strategic wisdom, one of Nigeria's most potent instruments of stability—Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd)—remains conspicuously absent from the formal architecture of governance. This neglect is not a simple oversight; it is a critical lapse in strategic judgment, a failure to deploy a tool forged in the fires of our nation's most complex challenges.

General Buratai’s value is demonstrable, not sentimental. His tenure as Chief of Army Staff defined the modern transformation of our military, creating the very structures and doctrines deployed against existential threats. He possesses an intimate operational understanding of our security machinery—its capacities, rhythms, and spirit—that can not be replicated from reports alone. Furthermore, as Ambassador to Benin Republic, his proven strategic utility extends beyond the battlefield, mastering the critical nexus of diplomacy and security to combat smuggling and insurgent logistics. This is a man who has delivered in two of the most demanding arenas of statecraft.

The cost of this neglect is both tangible and corrosive. It creates a void where his counsel could illuminate security blind spots with proven, actionable alternatives. It fails to leverage the deep reservoir of trust and credibility he commands within the northern political and security establishment—a bridge of goodwill indispensable for national cohesion. Most critically, it sends a disquieting message to the institutions he helped build: that exhaustive service can culminate in being sidelined.

We must confront the source of this oversight. It stems, undoubtedly, from whispered campaigns by those who, for reasons of vendetta or rivalry, paint this patriot in dark hues before the ears of power. Let this be clear: those who persistently demonize Buratai do not mean well for this government or for Nigeria. They trade in past grievances at the expense of future stability, prioritizing old scores over national salvation.

This is more than a miscalculation; it is a fatal mistake in the present dispensation. While insecurity festers and diplomacy demands a master’s touch, leaving a seasoned general on the bench defies all logic of governance. It is strategic self-sabotage. The appeal is one of conscientious patriotism: bring General Buratai in from the cold. Engage him as the asset he is—a senior adviser, a special envoy, a chair of a critical committee. To do so demonstrates a leadership that is wise, secure, and ruthlessly pragmatic. To refuse is to willfully complicate the herculean task of leading Nigeria toward peace and prosperity. The nation can not afford such a luxury.

AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Your Excellency,

I write to you today with a deep sense of patriotism, and with the utmost respect for the immense burden of your office. This open letter is compelled by a profound concern for the integrity of one of our nation’s most vital institutions: the Nigerian Armed Forces. The recent events surrounding the special promotion, and subsequent reversal, of your Aide-de-Camp, Colonel Nurudeen Yusuf, have exposed a critical fault line that threatens the very bedrock of military discipline and morale. It is my respectful contention that Colonel Yusuf is no longer fit to retain the exalted position of your ADC, and that his immediate replacement is a necessary step to restore faith, uphold your legacy, and reaffirm the sanctity of our military’s codes.

The office of the Presidential Aide-de-Camp is not merely a personal appointment. It is a position of immense symbolic weight, representing the crucial interface between the civilian Commander-in-Chief and the professional military hierarchy. The officer who holds this post must be the living embodiment of the Army’s core values: an unshakeable loyalty to the chain of command, an impeccable record of professional conduct, and a judgment beyond reproach. The fact that Colonel Yusuf allegedly lobbied for a promotion outside the established channels, thereby bypassing the authority of the Chief of Army Staff, his own chief career planner, demonstrates a fundamental failure in these very values. An officer who seeks to circumvent the institution he serves for personal advancement cannot be the trusted conduit your office requires. This action did not just seek a rank, it snubbed the entire system of merit and seniority that thousands of officers have sacrificed to uphold.

Furthermore, this episode represents a serious lapse in the duty of an ADC to guide his principal with dispassionate, institutional wisdom. The President must be able to rely on his closest military aide for counsel that is rooted strictly in regulation and the long-term health of the service, not personal ambition. The sequence of events suggests a misguidance, a failure to ensure you were fully apprised of the institutional repercussions of such an exceptional promotion. This has, unfortunately, resulted in a palpable crisis of confidence within the officer corps, where dedicated Colonels now question the value of their service and sacrifice. The ensuing public controversy has also brought unwelcome disrepute upon our Armed Forces, tarnishing a reputation built on valour and professionalism.

Your Excellency, your national reputation is built on a firm, no-nonsense approach to governance, discipline, and accountability. To retain an officer at the center of such a destabilizing controversy would stand in stark contradiction to these celebrated principles. The entire nation, and especially the military family, is watching. Inaction would be interpreted as an acceptance that the rules are malleable for the connected, setting a disastrous precedent for the future. The path to resolution is clear. Colonel Yusuf should be redeployed to a standard position within the Army, as deemed fit by the Chief of Army Staff. This is a corrective measure to reaffirm institutional order.

Subsequently, the Office of the National Security Adviser, working with Army Headquarters, should promptly present a shortlist of exemplary senior officers for your consideration. Nigeria is blessed with an abundance of highly qualified, battle-tested Colonels who have risen strictly through merit, their records unblemished by controversy. Appointing one such officer would be a powerful, restorative signal. It would heal wounds, rebuild morale, strengthen the chain of command, and clearly demonstrate that the path to honour is paved only with professional excellence and integrity. This decisive step would powerfully cement your legacy as a Commander-in-Chief who places the health of the nation’s institutions above all else.

I urge you, Sir, to take this necessary action for the good of the Nigerian Army, for the dignity of your presidency, and for the future of our nation’s security architecture.

Respectfully,

Mr. Joel Nnaemeka,

Tension Erupts As Police Arrest Ogun NUJ Secretary After Late-Night Kemta Drama

Ogun State, Nigeria — Tension gripped Kemta Division late Thursday night, December 18, 2025, after a dramatic incident involving the Secretary of the Ogun State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr. Adigun Bunmi.

According to police sources, at about 10:30 p.m., operatives on stop-and-search duty at the front of Kemta Police Station flagged down a blue Toyota Camry with registration number OG 16 A43. The driver, identified as Bunmi, allegedly conducted himself in a disorderly manner, raising concerns of a possible breach of public peace.

When directed to bring the vehicle into the station, Bunmi reportedly refused to comply. Instead, he allegedly whisked away Police Constable Adebayo Okikijesu, who had entered the vehicle to ensure compliance.

The situation escalated until the swift intervention of Kehinde Adebayo, a driver to retired Superintendent of Police Adeakiti, who pursued and blocked Bunmi’s vehicle about 200 meters from the checkpoint. In the process, Constable Okikijesu sustained an injury to his arm.

Police confirmed that Bunmi was immediately arrested and taken into custody. He is currently under investigation for attempted kidnapping, serious assault on a police officer, and deprivation of liberty. Authorities stated that upon conclusion of investigations, he will be charged to court.

We tried reaching out to Ogun State PPRO, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi but his line was busy for over two hours.

Efforts to reach the Chairman of Ogun NUJ Council has been proved abortive, several calls have been made to reach him but he didn’t respond to calls.

Treason in the Shadows: How Alleged Terrorism Sponsors in Custody Walked Free Under Suspicious Circumstances

Retired Army General Exposes Systemic Sabotage, Political Interference and the Erosion of Nigeria’s Counter-Terror Architecture

In a revelation that reverberates to the core of Nigeria’s national security crisis, retired Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi has laid bare a disturbing betrayal of public trust and institutional integrity: alleged sponsors and financiers of terrorism, once held in military custody under a high-level counter-terrorism directive, were released under suspicious circumstances. This disclosure—emerging amid Nigeria’s protracted struggle against violent insurgencies, banditry and terrorism—threatens to unmask deep fissures in the country’s security and governance structures.

Ali-Keffi, once head of the covert Presidential Task Force Operation Service Wide (OSW), established in 2020 to identify, arrest, investigate and prosecute sponsors of terrorism, alleges that all 48 suspects detained in military custody were inexplicably freed, despite extensive evidence linking them to terrorist financing networks and illicit money flows.

The Anatomy of a Cover-Up

According to Ali-Keffi, the OSW comprised military officers, intelligence operatives and legal specialists drawn from the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF). The task force was empowered to strike decisively at the financial underpinnings of terror groups, a strategic imperative given that experts widely agree that cutting off funding remains one of the most effective means of dismantling extremist networks.

Yet what was uncovered in custody never reached Nigerian courtrooms. Instead, Ali-Keffi asserts, the suspects were released without prosecution—no charges, no trials, no convictions. He characterises this not as bureaucratic inefficiency but as evidence of systemic sabotage and deliberate cover-ups by powerful figures within the military and government.

In a scathing critique, he alleged that former Chief of Army Staff, General Faruk Yahaya, and influential ex-Army Chief Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), played roles in ensuring his removal from OSW leadership—a move he views as pivotal to derailing the investigations.

Moreover, Ali-Keffi named former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, as a key figure whose office would have been required to authorise any release of terrorism suspects, raising troubling questions about institutional complicity or grave dereliction of duty.

Why This Matters: The Stakes in Terror Financing

Nigeria’s battle with violent insurgency is not confined to the battlefield. Behind every attack, bombing or massacre lie hidden financial conduits supplying funds, weapons and logistics to terror cells. A report published earlier this month estimated that at least 96 financiers and over 400 associates facilitate terrorism across Nigeria, using networks that span individuals, companies and Bureau de Change operators.

The Terrorism (Prevention) (Amendment) Act, 2013 criminalises the financing of terrorism and empowers law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies to pursue convictions. Yet experts lament that many suspects with substantial evidence against them are never formally charged, effectively stalling justice at the courthouse door.

Adding to public frustration, advocacy groups including the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), oil workers’ unions and legal practitioners have repeatedly urged the government to name, expose and prosecute terrorism sponsors. Their argument is clear: naming and shaming without prosecution is hollow and allows terror financing structures to survive and adapt.

A Fractured Framework: Institutional Weakness or Worse?

Ali-Keffi’s disclosures go beyond operational setbacks; they suggest that Nigeria’s counter-terrorism apparatus itself may be compromised.

The retired general claims that OSW possessed intelligence reports, financial trails and investigative materials linking suspects directly to terrorism funding. Yet rather than advancing prosecution, political and legal manoeuvring allegedly diluted terrorism charges into lesser offences such as money laundering—an outcome he believes served the interests of powerful individuals who feared exposure.

One of the most explosive allegations involves an international suspect with an offshore account reportedly holding close to $600 million, traced by the NFIU and frozen by international partners. Ali-Keffi alleges that the Nigerian government later requested the foreign authority to unfreeze the account, a move he insists points to deep political interference at the expense of accountability.

Security analysts warn that such actions undermine one of the most effective tools against terrorism: financial disruption. As one expert noted, “Following the money remains the best chance Nigeria has to cut the lifeblood of terrorist organisations.”

Historical Context: Terrorism Prosecutions and Convictions

Nigeria has secured some convictions when prosecutions have proceeded. A recent verdict phase at the Kainji Mass Trials resulted in 44 convictions for terrorism financing, with sentences ranging from 10 to 30 years.

However, such outcomes remain exceptions. Hundreds of suspects implicated in terror financing and insurgent operations remain trapped in legal limbo, often cited by authorities as “ongoing cases” with no clear resolution.

Voices from the Field: Experts Weigh In

Renowned counter-terrorism consultant Dr. Aminu Suleiman observes:

> “Terrorism is not merely a kinetic threat; it is a financial ecosystem. Unless Nigeria decisively dismantles the funding conduits—money, smuggling and patronage networks—the insurgency will persist.”

Professor Aisha Garba, a leading scholar on security governance, adds:

> “When key suspects with evidence against them are released without trial, it erodes public trust, emboldens criminals and signals to sponsors that accountability is optional.”

These expert perspectives underscore the gravity of the allegations and their implications for Nigeria’s security architecture.

The Human Cost and National Security Implications

The cost of inaction is measured not only in statistics but in human lives. Terrorist and insurgent violence has displaced millions, killed thousands and devastated economic activity across multiple regions. The Boko Haram insurgency alone—Nigeria’s longest-running terror war—has claimed tens of thousands of lives and forced communities into prolonged displacement.

Behind every tragedy often lies a financial trail: ransoms paid for kidnapped victims, smuggled goods funding terror cells, and businesses laundering money under a veneer of legitimacy. When suspects tied to these networks walk free, it sends a chilling message that justice can be circumvented.

A Call for Renewed Accountability

Ali-Keffi’s disclosures demand more than headlines—they demand action. For Nigeria to restore credibility in its counter-terrorism strategy, three imperatives must guide the way forward:

1. Transparent Legal Processes: All suspects allegedly involved in terrorism financing must be charged, tried and, where proven guilty, convicted under the law.

2. Institutional Integrity: Security, intelligence and prosecutorial bodies must operate free from political interference.

3. Public Confidence: Accountability is essential to restoring trust and deterring future crimes.

As Professor Suleiman concludes:

> “The integrity of the state is measured not by its firepower, but by its willingness to hold the powerful and complicit accountable.”

Final Analysis: The Battle Within and Without

Nigeria’s war against terrorism is fought not only on battlefields but within corridors of power. The alleged release of terrorism financiers under suspicious circumstances challenges public faith in governance, justice and the rule of law. As insecurity persists, the nation must ensure that the burden of terror is not borne by citizens alone, while those who finance, enable or shield it evade accountability.

Only through unflinching transparency and unwavering justice can Nigeria hope to emerge from the shadows that have long obscured its fight against terrorism.

SHADOWS OVER THE THRONE: Unanswered Questions Trail Abimbola Onabanjo’s Awujale Ambition

-From ₦4.5bn Ikoyi luxury to money-laundering claims—why the silence of a leading contender is fueling a crisis of confidence.

The Awujale of Ijebuland is not merely a crown—it is a moral institution, a custodian of centuries-old values, and a symbol of integrity that has outlived empires, colonial rule, and political upheavals. That is precisely why the reported interest of Mr. Abimbola John Onabanjo in the revered stool has triggered intense public scrutiny and growing unease.

At the heart of the controversy are serious but unproven allegations, persistent questions about wealth accumulation, and—most strikingly—silence in response to a detailed formal media enquiry issued to allow fair hearing.

Why the Awujale Stool Matters
Historically, the Awujale stool has stood apart in Yorubaland. From pre-colonial times through modern Nigeria, Awujales have wielded not just authority, but moral restraint—serving as arbiters, cultural anchors, and voices of conscience.

Unlike political offices, the throne demands moral legitimacy, not just eligibility by lineage. Any aspirant, therefore, is held to a standard far higher than ordinary public figures. Reputation matters. Perception matters. Transparency matters.

Wealth, Lifestyle, and the Burden of Explanation

Public attention has focused on claims questioning whether Mr. Onabanjo’s reported lifestyle and assets align with publicly known sources of income. Among the allegations circulating in civic and political circles are claims attributing to him:

A solar energy installation allegedly running to several millions , allegedly imported from Germany and installed by foreign technicians

A luxury residential property in Ikoyi, reportedly valued at about ₦4.5 billion

Luxury wristwatches allegedly valued at approximately USD 4 million

These figures, if accurate, place Mr. Onabanjo among Nigeria’s ultra-high-net-worth individuals—raising legitimate public-interest questions about wealth provenance. No court has ruled on these matters, but the absence of voluntary clarification has amplified scrutiny.

Money-Laundering and Political Proximity Allegations

More troubling are allegations—unproven but persistent—suggesting possible links to money-laundering and other illicit financial flows. There are also claims that Mr. Onabanjo acts as a financial front for a prominent South-West governor who has reportedly fallen out with the presidency in recent times.

These claims allegedly would pose a direct threat to the political neutrality historically associated with the Awujale stool. Traditional institutions thrive on distance from partisan power. Perceived political capture risks eroding public confidence not only in the throne, but in the broader traditional system.

It bears repeating: no charges, indictments, or judicial findings have been established against Mr. Onabanjo. Yet, editorially, silence does not neutralise concern—it magnifies it.

Declared Companies and Allegations of Financial Conduits

Further scrutiny has centred on companies publicly associated with Mr. Onabanjo, including Kleensteps, Extol Security, Scent Arcade, and KMF Oil & Gas. Allegations—again unproven—suggest these entities may be used as conduits for illicit funds, alongside claims of other undeclared companies allegedly linked to questionable transactions.

In investigative journalism, such claims demand verification—not dismissal. Equally, they demand response.

The Media Enquiry—and the Silence

In strict adherence to journalistic ethics and the principle of fair hearing, this newspaper formally issued a detailed media enquiry to Mr. Abimbola John Onabanjo. The enquiry requested clarification on:

Source of wealth and luxury assets

Lifestyle–income consistency

Money-laundering allegations

Political financial links

Nature and legitimacy of declared companies

Alleged undeclared business interests

Suitability for the Awujale stool in light of unresolved concerns

The enquiry explicitly stated that:

The report was under editorial review

No conclusions had been reached

The story had not been published

Any response would be fully and fairly reflected

As of press time, no response was received.

This silence is now a central fact of the story.

Why Silence Is Not Neutral

In matters involving private individuals, silence can be a right. In matters involving aspiration to one of Nigeria’s most sacred traditional institutions, silence becomes a public issue.

The Awujale is expected to command respect not by coercion, but by moral clarity. When serious questions arise, engagement—not evasion—is the currency of credibility.

A Test Beyond One Candidate

This controversy is bigger than Mr. Onabanjo. It is a stress test for the Awujale succession process itself. Will modern expectations of transparency coexist with tradition? Or will silence, speculation, and political shadows define the future of a once-unassailable institution?

Editorial Position

This newspaper makes no declaration of guilt. Allegations remain allegations. However, the burden of reassurance rests with the aspirant, not the public.

Until clear, verifiable explanations are offered, the questions will persist—and rightly so.

The Awujale stool deserves clarity, not controversy; truth, not whispers; and leadership beyond reproach.

History is watching. So is Ijebuland.

SPECIAL PROMOTION OF PRESIDENT’S ADC SPARKS CONTROVERSY: QUESTIONS RAISED OVER MERIT, PROCESS, AND MILITARY INTEGRITY

The recent promotion of the President’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the rank of Brigadier General has sparked intense debate within military and political circles, raising concerns about institutional integrity, meritocracy, and adherence to established Nigerian Army protocols.

Military analysts warn that bypassing formal promotion boards and statutory vetting mechanisms undermines both morale and professionalism, potentially jeopardizing national security. The ADC’s role is traditionally capped at the rank of Colonel, and the elevation to Brigadier General represents a marked deviation from long-standing norms.

Concerns Raised

Experts cite multiple issues with the promotion:

Violation of Due Process: Established promotion procedures and Army Council oversight were reportedly bypassed.

Erosion of Meritocracy: The move appears to prioritize political proximity over battlefield experience, command record, and academic qualifications.

Demoralization of Senior Officers: Colonels awaiting promotion based on service and performance may feel sidelined.

Undermining Command Authority: The promotion could weaken the Chief of Army Staff’s ability to enforce standards.

Operational Risk: Assigning a general officer rank to an officer without strategic training may compromise mission effectiveness.

International Embarrassment: Such actions risk diminishing the Nigerian military’s reputation among peer armed forces.

Observers also note potential symbolic damage, conflict-of-interest concerns, and the risk of fostering sycophancy over professional excellence.

Calls for Corrective Action

In response, experts and military stakeholders have proposed several measures:

1. Immediate Review by the Army Council: The promotion should be formally examined in line with existing regulations.

2. Voluntary Reversion Pending Compliance: The ADC could revert to Colonel to complete mandatory courses before a merit-based promotion.

3. Reaffirmation of Military Procedures: Public statements by the President and Army Headquarters could reinforce adherence to statutory promotion processes.

4. Legislative Oversight: The National Assembly’s Defence Committees should ensure transparency and statutory compliance.

5. Binding Policy on General Officer Promotion: Officers should attain general rank only after completing required senior defence courses.

Military analysts emphasize that strong institutions outlive strong individuals. Ensuring adherence to promotion rules and merit-based advancement is crucial to maintaining confidence in the Nigerian Army, protecting morale, and safeguarding the country’s strategic interests.
CrimeA Childhood Friend’s Testimony: How Major General Ali‑keffi’s Path Of Betrayal B by Hunter2009(op): 10:42am On Dec 15, 2025
A CHILDHOOD FRIEND’S TESTIMONY: HOW MAJOR GENERAL ALI‑KEFFI’S PATH OF BETRAYAL BEGAN AT HOME

By Mallam Abdullahi Garba (Dan Asabe)

My name is Mallam Abdullahi Garba. Danjuma knows me well as Dan Asabe. For more than fifty years, my life has been intertwined with that of Danjuma Ali‑Keffi. We shared a childhood in Kaduna, dreams of service, and a bond I once believed unbreakable. I write today not out of malice, but under the heavy burden of truth.

The public now sees only the explosive allegations he has made against the state. What must be understood is the long, tragic pattern that preceded them.

The boy I knew was intelligent, but deeply troubled in his relationship with authority. A corrosive rebelliousness defined him from our neighbourhood streets to his years in uniform. This trait did not emerge suddenly; it matured. The military records now in the public domain did not invent this history—they documented it. Repeated refusal of lawful orders, the sabotage of colleagues, and retaliatory accusations against superiors who attempted correction were not anomalies; they were consistent behaviour.

His career became a slow‑motion testament to a single truth: he could not serve any institution beyond the altar of his own ego.

This pathology of betrayal was not confined to the barracks. Its most painful casualties were within his own home. I watched, powerless, as a man who rose to the rank of General dismantled every pillar of personal loyalty around him. Lifelong friends who offered counsel were cast aside. His siblings were treated with contempt. Most distressing of all was his treatment of the woman who gave him life.

When his mother lay hospitalised for weeks, fighting for her health, her son—the senior officer, the man of supposed honour—could not find a single hour to sit by her side. He offered neither comfort nor respect. This, to me, is the core of his character: a man perpetually at war with the world, leaving no room for love—only the cold certainty of his own righteousness.

His compulsory retirement was the institution’s final verdict. He was deemed unfit for command—described as incompetent, indolent, and disloyal. Released from military discipline, his destructive energy has now found a new target: the nation itself.

His present claims are not evidence‑based whistleblowing. They are a familiar script, repeated yet again—defy authority, fail within it, then accuse it of unspeakable evil. What was once a personal grievance has now been amplified into a tool capable of sowing national discord.

My plea, therefore, is twofold.

To the Nigerian public, I urge caution. Do not be seduced by the grandeur of sweeping claims. Examine the man behind them. Trace the unbroken chain from the disobedient officer to the estranged son to the accuser without proof. To amplify such a voice is to legitimise a lifelong pattern of ruin.

To Danjuma—my brother of old—this is my final warning. You stand at the edge of total self‑destruction. You have sacrificed your career, your friendships, and your family on the pyre of defiance. All that remains is your name, and even that you are burning.

Stop.

Before you speak again to the nation, find the courage to face the home you have destroyed. Seek forgiveness from your mother. Make peace with your past. Only there can redemption begin.

The path you walk leads to a legacy of ash. I pray you find the humility to turn back.

With a heavy heart,

Mallam Abdullahi Garba (Dan Asabe)

CelebritiesAn Open Letter To Major General Dh Ali-keffi (rtd) by Hunter2009(op): 7:11am On Dec 12, 2025
AN OPEN LETTER TO MAJOR GENERAL DH ALI-KEFFI (RTD)

Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi (Rtd),
I write to you not as an adversary but as a concerned Nigerian and a professional observer of institutional integrity and national security. My voice joins what I suspect is a silent chorus of those who have followed your career trajectory with increasing alarm, not for the positions you held, but for the persistent pattern of conduct that has now escalated into a matter of grave public concern. This is an appeal to your reason, your legacy, and your patriotism.

General, the official records of your service—not rumours, but the documented assessments of your superiors and the findings from the records as narrated by your colleagues —paint a consistent and troubling picture. From your early command, you displayed a pattern of operational insubordination, refusing lawful orders during critical security operations. Your response to correction was never acquiescence or professional dialogue; it was consistently accusatory retaliation, bypassing channels to file petitions against your commanders. This tendency solidified over the years: a reported tolerance for unresolved misconduct within your units, a documented refusal to comply with a major posting order in 2021, and an alleged campaign to incite disloyalty among officers. The military, an institution built on the bedrock of discipline and the chain of command, finally diagnosed you as suffering from "incompetence, indolence, and disloyalty to constituted authority." Your compulsory retirement was not a casual administrative event; it was the institution’s last-resort surgery to remove a cancerous growth from its command structure.

However, your post-retirement actions have transformed you from an internal institutional danger into a clear national security threat. Your recent public allegation—that the tragic death of former Chief of Army Staff Attahiru - was an assassination orchestrated from within—is the catastrophic culmination of your lifelong pattern. You are no longer merely disobeying a commanding officer; you are now attempting to sabotage the nation’s faith in its own military. By weaving narratives of high-level murder, corruption, and treason without providing verifiable evidence, you achieve several destructive ends:

1. You erode the public trust that is essential for civic stability.
2. You demoralise serving officers who risk their lives daily under this same flag.
3. You provide potent ammunition to Nigeria’s adversaries, both domestic and foreign, who seek to discredit the state.
4. You plant the seeds of discord and conspiracy in the public mind, weakening our collective resilience.

This is not the act of a patriot. It is the final, self-destructive act of a character forever at war with authority, now turning its weapons on the very foundation of the state.

Therefore, I issue a dual call.

To the Nigerian public: Be cautious. Do not mistake General Ali-Keffi’s allegations for brave whistleblowing. Examine the source. He is a man with a documented, decades-long pattern of defying and accusing every authority he has served under. His current claims are not new evidence; they are the latest, most explosive iteration of a well-established personal strategy. To amplify his voice uncritically is to become an accessory in the destabilisation of our national security architecture.

To you, General Ali-Keffi, directly: It is time to look inward. The consistency of your conflict—the perpetual stance of the righteous martyr against every hierarchy, culminating in apocalyptic public claims—suggests a profound psychological distress. The leap from battlefield insubordination to alleging state-sponsored assassination indicates an escalation beyond political grievance into a realm of paranoia and grandiosity that is deeply harmful, first to you, and now to the nation.

I strongly and respectfully advise you to seek immediate and comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and care. This is not a slur, but a recommendation based on the observable, documented trajectory of your behaviour. A skilled professional could help you untangle the roots of this persecutory narrative and this compulsion for public confrontation. True strength lies not in perpetuating a cycle of blame but in having the courage to confront one’s own demons. For the sake of your family, your honour, and the country you once served, silence the destructive public campaign and seek help.

Your legacy is at a crossroads. It can be remembered as that of a brilliant but troubled officer who ultimately sought peace and healing, or as that of a man who, in his final chapter, chose to become a weapon of mass discord against his own nation. Choose the path of restoration.

Sincerely,

Dr. Bernard Achibulus

Christianity EtcProphet Kingsley Aitafo Releases 2026 Prophecy: ‘nigeria Will Rise, But The Worl by Hunter2009(op): 6:14am On Dec 12, 2025
Prophet Kingsley Aitafo Releases 2026 Prophecy: ‘Nigeria Will Rise, but the World Must Prepare for Turbulence’

In a sweeping prophetic message for the year 2026, renowned Nigerian cleric Prophet Kingsley Aitafo has released a series of revelations touching on Nigeria’s economy, global events, political transitions, natural disasters, religious transformations, and the future of world leaders.

Speaking during a special prophetic session, the prophet declared that Nigeria is on the verge of a major economic turnaround, noting that he “sees the economy moving forward soon in a way that will favour every Nigerian citizen.”

But while Nigeria’s fortunes may rise, Prophet Aitafo warned that 2026 will be a year of intense global climate crises, marked by excessive winds, horrifying flooding, tsunamis, earthquakes, and widespread weather disasters. He urged nations, especially China, to “pray seriously against an impending global disaster coming their way.”

Global Warnings: Trump, China, and Worldwide Disasters

Prophet Aitafo called for prayers for former U.S. President Donald Trump, warning of threats of sickness or possible assassination attempts during his tenure. “He must take care of his health,” he emphasized.

He also predicted that plane crashes will increase in 2026, linking the incidents to extreme weather instability.

Nigeria’s Political and Leadership Landscape

In Nigeria, the prophet issued several pointed warnings:

Members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet should pray seriously against sickness, noting that “many deaths may occur abroad, especially in London.”

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should pray against health challenges.

Peter Obi will receive an offer along the lines of “work for me and I will hand over to you”—but he must ensure any agreement is well-protected.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan should not contest for office, as “it will be a waste of time and resources,” adding that political forces may try to push him into a trap.

Political figures such as Rauf Aregbesola, Nasir el-Rufai, and others “will fade from relevance like traders arriving late to the market.”

He added that Tinubu’s political emergence moving forward will be easier than in 2023, emphasizing that Nigeria has a divine agenda that will be fulfilled, with no division or civil war.

Security, Coup Alerts, and National Stability

Prophet Aitafo urged prayers against military takeovers across Africa, especially in countries with long-ruling presidents. He warned that several former presidents in Nigeria and abroad may “exit the earth in 2026.”

He further predicted that Nigeria’s kidnapping and insecurity crisis will reduce, but warned that “politically motivated sponsors will be exposed and disgraced.”

Religious Prophecies: Church Shake-ups Coming

The prophet issued strong warnings to the Christian community:

New leaders will emerge in a major white-garment denomination, two Nigerian Pentecostal churches, several African countries, and even in the U.S.

False teachings and manipulative doctrines will be widely exposed in 2026.

In the Celestial Church of Christ, court battles “will not stop until God’s plan is fulfilled,” insisting that no human attempt at unification will succeed until God intervenes.

He declared that the return of Jesus Christ is very near, urging the African church—especially Nigeria—to abandon exploitative prosperity doctrines.

Monarchies and Global Figures

Prophet Aitafo called for prayers for the British monarchy, warning of instability around “the seat of the monarch of England.”

Similarly, he cautioned that a highly revered monarch in South-West Nigeria must be covered in prayer to avoid a sudden vacancy on the throne.

He also urged prayers for two world-famous musicians who he said may die unexpectedly.

Entertainment, Sports, and Business Predictions

Despite global turbulence, 2026 will birth “many stars” in music, film, and ministry—especially in Nigeria and Africa. He also warned:

A very popular Nigerian football figure may pass away.

Two Nigerian governors face major health crises, with one at risk of death.

Well-established African business moguls should pray against sudden need for a successor.

Nigeria’s Future, the Igbo Agitation, and Social Movements

Prophet Aitafo said the Igbo freedom agitator must be prayed for intensely, as freedom is close but “his survival in prison is not guaranteed.”

He warned that popular activist VeryDarkMan faces a trap that “may silence him permanently if he falls into it.”

Final Guidance to Nigeria’s Government

The prophet advised the federal government to focus urgently on:

Healthcare reform

Education development

Strengthening state security

Licensing and empowering private and community security systems

Despite all challenges, Prophet Aitafo reaffirmed that God’s promise for Nigeria has not changed. He said the Nigerian church will play a pivotal role in the end-time global gospel agenda.

CrimeOngoing U.s. Court Case And Federal High Court Order Make Any Nigerian ‘wanted’ by Hunter2009(op):
ONGOING U.S. COURT CASE AND FEDERAL HIGH COURT ORDER MAKE ANY NIGERIAN ‘WANTED’ DECLARATION PREMATURE, ILLEGAL, AND UNSUSTAINABLE — ELUSOJI CAMPAIGN

The team of U.S.-based businessman Oluwasegun Rolland Elusoji has issued a strong rebuttal to reports published by Sahara Reporters and OyoHerald, describing the publications as misleading, incomplete, and legally inaccurate. The reports also ignored the central allegation that the entire scheme is being driven and orchestrated by Adeseye Joseph “Seye” Famojuro, a politically exposed ally of the Oyo State government.

For clarity, we state the following facts:

1. The role of Adeseye “Seye” Famojuro cannot be ignored.

Contrary to the slanted narrative painted by the publications, Elusoji has consistently maintained that Adeseye Famojuro is the principal actor behind the allegations, the instigator of the crisis, and the individual leveraging political influence to weaponize security agencies against him.

Elusoji’s petitions, filings, and sworn statements — both in Nigeria and in the United States — expressly identify Famojuro as the mastermind behind the escalating harassment, fabricated narratives, and the attempt to secure a “wanted” declaration through backdoor influence rather than lawful processes.

These allegations are already before competent legal authorities and form a core part of the ongoing proceedings.

2. There is an active U.S. court case.

Proceedings are ongoing before the District Court of Montgomery County, Texas (Case No. 24-06-0979).

As long as this case is active, the Nigeria Police Force cannot lawfully declare Elusoji “wanted.”
Any such action ignores the existence of parallel judicial processes.

3. The Federal High Court has restrained the Police and all agencies.

In Suit No. FHC/L/MISC/991/25, Justice D.E. Osiagor granted:

Leave to apply for judicial review over the unlawful “wanted” move

A stay of all steps relating to the purported declaration pending determination of the Motion on Notice

This order remains in force, making any “wanted” notice illegal and unenforceable.

4. The Lagos High Court ruling cited in the reports is incomplete.

The referenced judgment failed to consider the documents, filings, and evidence already submitted in the United States — including evidence identifying Famojuro’s involvement.
This makes the ruling inconclusive, not final.

5. A police “wanted” notice is not proof of guilt.

It is an administrative action, open to abuse, and in this case appears to have been influenced by political actors aligned with Famojuro rather than grounded in law or evidence.

6. The media reports present allegations as facts.

This is irresponsible.
None of the allegations — including those linked to Famojuro’s conduct and influence — has been upheld by any court.

CORE POSITION

Elusoji maintains that:

Adeseye Joseph “Seye” Famojuro is the principal figure behind the allegations, behind-the-scenes pressures, and attempts to engineer a “wanted” notice,

The U.S. case and the Federal High Court stay order make any such declaration unlawful, and

Media reports that fail to mention Famojuro’s alleged role are intentionally incomplete and misleading.

Elusoji remains committed to defending himself through the law and insists that the public must not be manipulated by politically motivated narratives engineered by individuals seeking to shield themselves from scrutiny.

Buratai Hails Tinubu’s Intervention in Benin, Calls It a Masterstroke of Strategic Foresight

Abuja — December 9, 2025

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd.), has issued a strongly worded statement praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s swift military intervention that helped thwart a coup attempt in the Republic of Benin. Buratai described the operation as “a bold and commendable act of strategic statesmanship” that safeguarded democracy and prevented a major regional security crisis.

In the statement titled “Decisive Action, Strategic Foresight: Why Tinubu’s Benin Move Deserves Acclaim,” Buratai said the rapid deployment of Nigerian Air Force jets and ground forces—undertaken at the formal request of Benin’s authorities—highlighted Nigeria’s capacity for precision, discipline, and decisive action when confronted with a clear conventional threat.

He dismissed criticisms comparing the successful operation in Cotonou with Nigeria’s ongoing internal security challenges, insisting that both situations involve fundamentally different types of warfare.

According to Buratai, the Benin mission was a classic external military operation targeting identifiable and fixed enemy positions, such as an army camp and a national television station seized by renegade soldiers. He said such engagements align directly with the traditional strengths of a national military—air dominance, superior firepower, and coordinated infantry operations.

Conversely, he noted that Nigeria’s fight against banditry and insurgency is an asymmetric conflict against diffuse networks of militants embedded within communities and supported by informal structures of informants. He stressed that such threats require a long-term combination of intelligence, policing, social policy, and economic intervention, rather than swift conventional strikes.

Buratai argued that President Tinubu’s action was not a diversion from Nigeria’s domestic concerns but a necessary step to prevent broader instability. He warned that a successful coup in Benin could have transformed Nigeria’s western border into a corridor for criminal and terrorist networks, exacerbating the very security issues the country faces internally.

“By acting decisively, President Tinubu did not neglect a fire at home to water a neighbour’s garden; he prevented a dangerous wildfire in the adjoining field from spreading to our own compound,” Buratai said.

He added that the intervention was an example of “enlightened self-interest,” aimed at preserving Nigeria’s stability by protecting the region from descending into chaos. The former army chief urged that the same clarity of purpose now be applied to Nigeria’s internal security operations, which demand patience, coordination, and long-term strategy.

A Personal Reflection on Service, Sacrifice, and Unfounded Attacks

Sometimes, watching public figures get dragged through the mud tells you less about them and more about the state of our public discourse.

As someone who studies Nigeria’s security landscape, not from a news desk but through the dry, factual lens of academic and operational history, the recent allegations against former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. T.Y. Buratai (rtd.) hit a particular nerve. They don’t just seem wrong, they feel like a profound injustice against a man who gave decades of his life to this country.

Let’s be clear: I’ve never met General Buratai. I have no personal connection to him. My "relationship" with his career is through after-action reports, strategy papers, and the timelines of battles fought in our Northeast. And from that vantage point, the idea that he was somehow in cahoots with the very terrorists he was tasked with destroying isn't just illogical; it’s an insult to the painful, gritty reality of that war.

Think about the sheer human contradiction of that claim. This is the officer who, for years, bore the immense weight of command during one of our nation's most brutal conflicts. His days and nights were consumed by the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP.

As a Security and Intelligence Analyst, we studied the tactical shifts under his command, the difficult pivot to the "Super Camp" strategy, the push to retake and hold territory. These weren't abstract concepts; they were decisions that affected the lives of thousands of soldiers and civilians.

To suggest that the man at the helm of that struggle was secretly funding the enemy doesn't add up. It collapses under the weight of its own absurdity.

Where is the proof?

In our world, serious allegations are backed by evidence, arrests, indictments, formal investigations. But here, there's only silence from every official quarter: the EFCC, the DSS, our financial intelligence units. Nothing!!

Instead, the entire case seems to be built on whispers and "anonymous sources" funneled through an outlet, Sahara Reporters, with a troubling track record.

And this is where it becomes personal. We've seen this pattern before. Just recently, the Plateau State government had to publicly condemn a false report about a bomb blast in Jos. A story that caused real panic.

Also, Ekiti State officials have detailed how their financial data was misrepresented to create a false narrative. They had to condemn the report made by Sahara Reporters.

When an outlet repeatedly gets things so wrong, often with consequences that hurt communities and reputations, it loses the benefit of the doubt. It starts to look less like journalism and more like a weapon.

Is it so hard to believe that a man who held one of the toughest jobs in Nigeria, who inevitably had to make decisions that upset powerful people, is now a target for those seeking "a pound of flesh"?

What gets lost in this noise is the human story of service. This was a 40-year career that culminated in the hottest of seats.

Whatever your political views, the man served. He faced a monstrous enemy and, according to the military's own records, achieved hard-fought gains: territories were reclaimed, key terrorist commanders were neutralized.

In a sane society, we would at least be able to separate honest critique of strategy from vile character assassination. We should be debating his legacy, not defending his basic loyalty.

That’s what saddens me the most. We have a habit of tearing down our own, especially once they leave the stage.

Instead of a nuanced conversation about security policy, we get baseless scandals. General Buratai is a case study, literally, I use his tenure in some of my classes, in military leadership under extreme pressure. He deserves to have that record discussed based on facts, not vapor.

So, from one citizen to another, I find this whole episode tragic. If we disagree with a leader's methods, let's argue about that. But to spray poison on a man's entire life's work with no evidence? That doesn't make us clever investigators. It makes us ingrate.

General Buratai has every right to demand a retraction, not just for his own name, but to push back against a culture of lies that cheapens the very concept of sacrifice for this nation.

Somewhere underneath the general's uniform and the headlines is a human being who served Nigeria. That, at the very least, deserves our basic fairness. ✍️

STATEMENT BY CONCERNED DEFENDERS OF NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND INTEGRITY

A Call to Uphold National Security and Condemn the Reckless Breach of State Secrets

We, the Concerned Defenders of National Consciousness and Integrity, a collective of patriots devoted to the sovereignty and security of Nigeria, are compelled to address a matter of grave national importance. We speak against the dangerous and self-serving actions of retired Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi, whose recent public disclosures have committed a profound assault on the sanctity of our nation's security and the discipline of our revered Armed Forces.

Our position is unequivocal and rooted in an unwavering principle: the survival and safety of Nigeria supersede any individual's personal grievance.

1. The Unpardonable Breach: Weaponizing State Secrets.

The core issue is not the unsubstantiated content of the allegations made by Maj. Gen. Ali-Keffi, but the criminal method he employed. By willfully disclosing the classified details of "Operation Service Wide"—a covert, strategic national security operation—he has committed an act of betrayal against the state. This was not a whistleblower's act of conscience but a deliberate demolition of operational secrecy. He has exposed methodologies, compromised potential future operations, and demonstrated a stunning disregard for the safety of operatives and the nation's strategic interests. This act alone constitutes a severe violation of the Official Secrets Act and the sacred oath he swore to uphold.

2. The True Motivation: Personal Grievance Masquerading as Patriotism.

Let us be clear: this is not the act of a patriot. It is the calculated outburst of an individual embittered by career setbacks. The timeline is instructive and reveals the true motive:

· His removal as General Officer Commanding of 1 Division in August 2021.

· His subsequent compulsory retirement from the Nigerian Army in December 2021.

· His evident frustration over a failed personal ambition to become Chief of Army Staff.

His actions follow a classic pattern of an officer, unable to accept the authority of the system and the outcomes of due process, who chooses to set the house ablaze on his way out. He has chosen to sacrifice national security on the altar of personal vendetta.

3. The Dangerous Precedent: An Affront to Discipline and Order.

The Nigerian Armed Forces are founded on the pillars of discipline, loyalty, and respect for the chain of command. Maj. Gen. Ali-Keffi has contemptuously trampled upon these pillars. By publicly airing unproven allegations against former service chiefs and government officials, he has sought to undermine public confidence in our national institutions. His path—bypassing all internal legal and disciplinary channels to prosecute his case in the media—is a blueprint for chaos. If left unaddressed, it signals to every serving and future officer that state secrets are negotiable commodities to be traded for public sympathy when one is dissatisfied.

Therefore, we demand the following actions from the Federal Government of Nigeria:

1. Immediate Prosecution: We call for the swift initiation of criminal proceedings against retired Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi for clear violations of the Official Secrets Act. The judiciary must be allowed to adjudicate this breach, sending an unambiguous message that the guardianship of state secrets is an inviolable duty.

2. Clear Public Repudiation: The Federal Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces must issue a strong, unified statement condemning this act of indiscipline and reaffirming the immutable principle that national security protocols are not subject to the whims of disgruntled individuals.

3. Reaffirmation of Institutional Integrity: We stand in solidarity with the institution of the Nigerian military and its respected leaders, past and present. The attempts to tarnish the reputations of former Chiefs of Army Staff, who served at great personal risk, are not only unfair but are a distraction from the ongoing fight against insecurity.

Conclusion

Nigeria's battle against terrorism and insecurity is a collective struggle that demands unity, secrecy where necessary, and unwavering discipline. Retired Major General Ali-Keffi has chosen to aid the enemies of our state—both seen and unseen—by tearing open the veil of our security operations. We can not and must not reward such treachery with indifference.

Let justice be served. Let the law take its course. Let this be a lasting lesson that Nigeria's security is sacred and non-negotiable.

For National Security, Unity, and Integrity,

Concerned Defenders of National Consciousness and Integrity.

FALSE ALARMS & FAILED NARRATIVES: Why Allegations Linking Lt. Gen. T.Y. Buratai to Terror Financing Don’t Add Up

By FEMI OYEWALE

For the past few weeks, an online storm has been stirred by a sensational report alleging financial links between former Chief of Army Staff and former Ambassador, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd.), and certain terror suspects. But as more security analysts, military insiders, and policy observers examine the claims, one conclusion continues to stand out:

The allegations simply do not align with Buratai’s track record, the facts on the ground, or the history behind the source making the accusations.

1. A General Defined by Results, Not Rumours

When Buratai took over as Chief of Army Staff in 2015, Nigeria was grappling with one of the most dangerous phases of the Boko Haram insurgency. Within months, the narrative began to shift:

Boko Haram—which once hoisted its flags across several local governments—lost territorial control.

The Nigerian Army under his command recaptured over 20 communities previously overrun by terrorists.

Supply routes were restored, internally displaced persons began returning home, and key towns like Bama, Gwoza, Monguno, and Dikwa came back under government authority.

The dreaded Sambisa Forest saw unprecedented military pressure, culminating in operations that broke the insurgents’ logistical backbone.

These achievements were not theoretical; they were verifiable, observable, and globally acknowledged.

So, the idea that the same military leader who dedicated his tenure to dismantling terror structures would simultaneously be “financing” the very networks he risked his life to defeat—defies logic, military culture, and national security realities.

2. Timing, Tone, and Tactics: Why the Claims Raise Eyebrows

The controversial report came from Sahara Reporters, a platform whose style of journalism has long been criticised for sensationalism, politically-motivated framing, and frequent inaccuracies in high-profile cases.

Over the years, several of its most explosive headlines have later collapsed under scrutiny:

Stories based on anonymous sources that were later discredited

Allegations that never aligned with official investigations

Publications later withdrawn or contradicted by law enforcement findings

The recurring pattern has sparked public debates about the outlet’s editorial motives and the possibility of politically-driven storylines aimed at specific individuals.

Some analysts argue that Buratai’s name offers guaranteed traffic—a factor that thrives in the era of click-economy journalism.

3. No National Security Agency Has Confirmed the Claims

Despite the noise across social media, no credible security institution in Nigeria—not the DSS, not the NPF, not the NSA’s office—has validated the allegations.

In fact, security officials have repeatedly emphasised that:

Terror financing accusations undergo long, forensic, multinational investigations, not gossip.

Such operations require solid financial trails—bank logs, transactional evidence, international cooperation.

None of these have been presented publicly or verified.

Instead, what exists is a media article built on unnamed sources, without any government confirmation, court filings, or legal indictments.

In an era where national security issues are sensitive and deeply complex, such unverified allegations carry consequences and should not be taken at face value.

4. A Target of Repeated Campaigns

Buratai has been a consistent subject of targeted reports by Sahara Reporters—many of which have previously been challenged or debunked.

Observers note several possibilities:

Political grudges arising from the military’s past anti-corruption stance

Factions unhappy with his reforms in the Army

Attempts to smear former service chiefs for ideological or partisan reasons

Power bloc battles ahead of future political alignments

Whatever the motive, the pattern is unmistakable:
when it comes to Buratai, sensational claims seem to surface without credible substantiation.

5. Service, Sacrifice, and a Record That Speaks Louder Than Rumours

Throughout his career, Buratai has been known for:

His frontline presence during operations

His push for enhanced military welfare

Strengthening civil-military cooperation

Modernizing combat equipment

Increasing international partnership on counterterrorism

His post-service appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador further signals the confidence successive governments placed in his loyalty and competence.

For a man who spent decades risking his life to combat insurgency, the narrative that he would undermine national security is inconsistent with documented history.

Rumours Are Loud—but Facts Are Louder

The allegations may generate online buzz, but when weighed against:

Buratai’s proven leadership in the war against insurgency

The lack of verified evidence

The source’s reputation for sensationalism

His longstanding commitment to national security

…it becomes increasingly clear why experts dismiss the claims as unfounded, illogical, and inconsistent with Nigeria’s counterterrorism realities.

Until credible evidence emerges—if ever—it remains what many analysts call it:

A political smear attempt packaged as journalism.

PoliticsAgbese: Linking Buratai, Matawalle To Terror Financing Is Illogical, Insulting T by Hunter2009(op): 4:59pm On Dec 06, 2025
*Agbese: Linking Buratai, Matawalle to Terror Financing Is Illogical, Insulting to Nigeria’s Security History*

Hon Philip Agbese, Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, has dismissed allegations linking former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Ambassador to Benin Republic, Lt-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, to terrorism financing, describing them as “reckless, fabricated and utterly unacceptable”.

Agbese, speaking to journalists in Abuja on Saturday, said the claims were not only false but an orchestrated attempt to malign two men who, according to him, have played pivotal roles in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.

He said it was “deeply unfortunate” that individuals who have made significant sacrifices for Nigeria were being targeted with allegations that contradict everything they have stood for throughout their public service careers.

Agbese particularly condemned the attempt to link Buratai to Boko Haram sponsorship, arguing that such claims were both illogical and insulting to Nigeria’s security history under the Buhari administration.

“General Buratai fought Boko Haram terrorists from the front. Anyone who followed Nigeria’s security trajectory from 2015 knows that before the Buhari administration took office, Boko Haram had bombed the Police Headquarters, the United Nations building, Banex Plaza, Nyanya Motor Park, and countless mosques, churches and markets. Entire communities across Borno, Yobe and Adamawa were under the absolute control of the insurgents,” the lawmaker said.

He said Buratai’s leadership as Army Chief led to the recovery of captured territories, stabilisation of the North-East and restoration of confidence across the country.

“Under his command, Boko Haram lost grip of territories they previously occupied. Basic governance returned to towns that had been abandoned for years. Abuja, which had faced repeated deadly bombings, became safe again. The scale of devastation Nigerians experienced between 2009 and 2014 reduced drastically because of his strategic leadership,” Agbese said.

The lawmaker added that Buratai’s efforts were not limited to the North-East, noting that other security threats also reduced significantly under his tenure.

“The de-escalation of violent criminal groups, including IPOB’s militant wing and various armed gangs across the country, was part of the broader national security gains recorded during his service. These were not accidental achievements but outcomes of coordinated security reforms he championed,” he said.

Agbese insisted that attempting to paint such a figure as a terrorism financier was not only contrary to the facts but a “grave injustice” that Nigerians must reject.

“This is a man whose career is defined by integrity, patriotism and sacrifice. To accuse him of supporting the same enemies he spent decades fighting is beyond absurd,” he said.

He said the former Army Chief deserved appreciation, not defamation, for his contributions.

“Buratai’s legacy remains one of honourable service. The Nigerian Army under him confronted terrorism with renewed vigour, and Nigerians today enjoy the safety dividends of those efforts,” he added.

Turning to the charges against Matawalle, Agbese said the allegations were equally baseless and crafted to undermine the minister’s commitment to securing the country.

“As governor of Zamfara State, Matawalle inherited a complex web of criminal gangs and terror groups operating across several parts of the state,” he said.

“Despite limited resources and a deeply entrenched security crisis, he took bold steps, both kinetic and non-kinetic, to weaken these networks, dismantle their logistics, and restore hope to citizens who had been completely abandoned.”

Agbese said Matawalle worked closely with security agencies, strengthened community-level intelligence structures, and pushed for federal collaboration long before assuming office as minister.

“Anyone familiar with the dynamics in Zamfara at the time knows the extent of the crisis he confronted. The suggestion that he supported these groups is false and malicious,” he said.

The deputy spokesperson urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as “sponsored propaganda designed to distract the public from ongoing reforms in the defence sector”.

The legislator warned that attempts to demoralise serving and retired security leaders would only embolden criminal elements and undermine national stability.

“Nigeria must never reward service with slander. We cannot allow individuals who risk their lives for this country to be casually defamed for clicks and traffic,” he said.

Agbese called on those behind the allegations to retract them and desist from further attempts to mislead the public.

“Nigerians stand firmly with Buratai and Matawalle. Their records speak for them. No amount of blackmail will erase their contributions to national security,” he added.

Group Denounces ‘Reckless’ Sahara Reporters Publication, Defends Buratai

Abuja, Nigeria — A civic coalition, the Concerned Defenders of National Consciousness and Integrity, has issued a strongly worded rebuttal to a recent Sahara Reporters publication alleging links between terror suspects and several former senior government officials, including ex–Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd).

In a statement released today, the group described the December 5th report titled “Terror Suspects, Alleged Financiers Were Linked to Powerful Nigerians…” as a “reckless, malicious fabrication designed to mislead the public and malign the reputations of national patriots.”

The coalition accused Sahara Reporters of engaging in “calculated character assassination” by relying solely on claims attributed to Maj. Gen. Danjuma Ali-Keffi (Rtd), whom they described as “a disgruntled individual whose testimony lacks credibility.”

“Service and Sacrifice Cannot Be Smeared”

According to the group, the attempt to associate General Buratai and others with terrorism is not only illogical, but “an insult to the memory of fallen soldiers and the sacrifices of security personnel who battled insurgency under their command.”

They argued that the publication failed to provide any evidence, instead resorting to what they called an “abuse of the word ‘link,’ a vague term weaponised to create suspicion where none exists.”

Group Questions Sahara Reporters’ Credibility

The statement further dismissed the platform’s credibility, accusing Sahara Reporters of a “long-standing history of publishing unverified and sensational claims that have been repeatedly debunked by reputable civil society groups.”

They insisted that a matter as serious as treason allegations should be supported by “verifiable, multi-sourced evidence — not conjecture and single-sourced gossip.”

Timing Suggests a Destructive Agenda, Group Alleges

The coalition questioned the timing of the publication, suggesting it was aimed at “undermining national security efforts, distorting historical contributions, and eroding public trust in key institutions.”

“This is not journalism. It is a targeted attack on Nigeria’s collective consciousness at a time when unity is paramount,” the statement read.

Calls for Public Vigilance

The Concerned Defenders of National Consciousness and Integrity urged Nigerians and the international community to “reject the politics of suspicion and sensationalism,” and to “demand higher standards of professionalism from those who wield the power of the press.”

They reaffirmed their confidence in General Buratai and other individuals mentioned in the report, calling the allegations “baseless, unfounded, and a complete falsehood.”

“Our past, present, and future demand that we say: enough is enough,” the group concluded.

CelebritiesNigeria: The Unbreakable Giant Rising Through Storms By Tukur Buratai by Hunter2009(op): 7:17am On Dec 04, 2025
NIGERIA: THE UNBREAKABLE GIANT RISING THROUGH STORMS

By Tukur Buratai

In a world quick to predict national failure, few countries have endured more scrutiny than Nigeria. From think-tank forecasts to global risk assessments, the country is often portrayed as teetering on the edge. Yet, beneath these narratives lies a deeper truth—Nigeria’s extraordinary resilience.

In a recent reflection posted on his Facebook page, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd.), argues that the idea of Nigeria as a potential failed state is not only inaccurate but a fundamental misunderstanding of its history and its destiny. For Buratai, Nigeria is not crumbling—it is rising.

A Nation Shaped by Giants

Buratai begins by invoking the spirit of Nigeria’s founding fathers—Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Chief Obafemi Awolowo—leaders whose vision helped carve a nation out of colonial rule. Their legacy, he notes, created a foundation that no crisis has ever completely shaken.

From post-independence turbulence to military incursion and back to democracy, Nigeria has repeatedly pulled back from the brink. Military leaders like Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Murtala Mohammed steered the country through nation-defining moments, while Chief Olusegun Obasanjo twice restored political stability—first in 1979 and again in 1999.

Today, Buratai observes, Nigeria is seeing the rise of a new generation of leaders—young, connected, innovative, and more accountable to citizens who are vocal and increasingly conscious of their power. Their commitment to unity and national progress, he insists, makes the idea of a collapsing Nigeria “inconceivable.”

Economy: Hardship, Yes — but Also Immense Opportunity

Buratai acknowledges the economic turbulence facing the nation, but he cautions against interpreting temporary difficulty as long-term decline. Since independence, Nigeria has transformed from a primarily agrarian society to Africa’s largest economy.

He highlights several underutilized strengths:

Human capital—a youthful population and a highly skilled diaspora

Agricultural capacity—enough arable land to feed West Africa

Solid mineral wealth—from gold to lithium and iron ore

Renewable energy potential—sunlight strong enough to power industries

Creative and digital innovation—Nollywood, Afrobeats, and a booming tech sector

For Buratai, these assets guarantee that Nigeria’s economic future remains bright. The ongoing diversification away from oil, though slow and painful, is laying the groundwork for a knowledge-driven and resilient economy.

---

Security and Infrastructure: A Nation in Transition

Nigeria’s security challenges—Boko Haram, ISWAP, banditry, and separatist agitations—remain a national concern. But Buratai argues that these struggles represent a phase of renewal, not collapse.

He notes that Boko Haram, once feared for its territorial control, has been significantly degraded from its peak in 2014–2015 due to years of tactical and strategic adjustments. The armed forces, he insists, are more retooled and revitalized than many acknowledge.

On infrastructure, Buratai highlights what he calls “quiet revolutions”—railway revival projects, major road expansions, airport modernization programs, and the massive Dangote Refinery, now the largest single-train refinery on earth. These developments, he suggests, point to a nation investing aggressively in its long-term foundations.

The Real Strength: The Nigerian Spirit

Beyond institutions, policies, and economics, Buratai identifies the Nigerian people as the country’s most powerful engine of survival.

He recounts moments that tested the nation's soul:

The civil war of 1967–1970

Structural Adjustment hardships of the 1980s

Pro-democracy struggles that ended military rule

The #EndSARS youth movement demanding transparency

And today’s economic trials

Despite everything, Nigerians continue to innovate, hustle, survive, and support one another through communal systems like esusu and grassroots solidarity.

“This social capital,” Buratai writes, “is the bedrock upon which the nation’s future is secured.”

A Message to the West: Stop Predicting Collapse—Start Building Partnerships

Buratai’s feature sharply criticizes international observers who constantly forecast Nigeria’s doom. He warns that such narratives distract from the opportunities Nigeria presents and risk undermining global cooperation.

He calls for:

1. Technology Transfer—especially in green energy and digital infrastructure

2. Investment, Not Aid—to unlock Nigeria’s private sector potential

3. Collaborative Security—rooted in respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty

The West, he argues, must stop preparing for Nigeria’s collapse and start preparing for Nigeria’s rise.

---

Recommendations for a Stronger Nigeria and a Stronger Africa

Buratai outlines a three-level plan:

For Nigeria

Forge a new patriotism focused on merit and national service

Deepen economic diversification with targeted investment funds

Expand community-based security under national coordination

For Developed Nations

Shift to partnership-based engagement

Reform global financial institutions

Elevate Nigerian creativity and innovation on global platforms

For Africa

Strengthen AfCFTA to build continental self-reliance

Share security and anti-corruption practices

Assert collective power in global negotiations

Conclusion: A Nation Destined to Rise

Buratai concludes with conviction: Nigeria will not fail—not now, not ever.

“Our current trials,” he writes, “are the furnace in which a stronger, more united, and self-reliant nation is being forged.”

For him, the world must begin to see Nigeria not as a volatile experiment but as a rising global force whose trajectory is upward.

And in his final words, he echoes a sentiment shared by millions across the country:

“We will not fail. We are rising.”

Buratai’s Eye for Excellence: How the Former COAS Built a Generation of Military Leaders

Femi Oyewale

In the often demanding and unpredictable world of military command, one of the most valuable qualities a leader can possess is the ability to identify, nurture, and deploy talent. For former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd.), this was not just a skill but a hallmark of his leadership—one that continues to shape the Nigerian military landscape years after his service.

During his tenure as COAS, Buratai was widely praised for his strategic foresight, operational discipline, and reforms, but perhaps his most enduring legacy is the rise of officers he trusted with critical assignments. A look back at the July 2019 appointments he made reveals a pattern: he placed capable officers in roles that stretched their capacity, refined their leadership, and prepared them for future national assignments.

One of the key beneficiaries of Buratai’s mentorship culture is Maj.-Gen. C.G. Musa, who at the time moved from the Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited to serve as Commander, Sector 3 of Operation Lafiya Dole in Monguno. He would later rise to become the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and is today Nigeria’s Defence Minister–nominee. His elevation underscores Buratai’s remarkable ability to spot potential even in unconventional postings and transform officers into frontline commanders and strategic decision-makers.

Similarly, Brig.-Gen. O.O. Oluyede, who was redeployed from the Amphibious Training School in Calabar to command the 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Yadi, also rose to prominence under Buratai’s tenure. His subsequent career trajectory—culminating in senior national security responsibilities—demonstrates how Buratai’s appointments were never random; they were deliberate steps in grooming competent officers for higher calling.

Another example is Brig.-Gen. E.A.P. Undiandeye, reassigned from the Army Headquarters Department of Transformation and Innovation to become Acting Director, Foreign Liaison, Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). Today, Undiandeye stands as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), a role that blends operational expertise with diplomatic finesse—qualities Buratai clearly saw early on.

These success stories, now visible across Nigeria’s defence architecture, illustrate a deeper truth: Buratai’s leadership was defined not only by battlefield accomplishments but by human capacity development. He understood that the strength of an army lies in the quality of its officers. And so he invested in them—rotating them through critical commands, exposing them to new challenges, and entrusting them with responsibilities that shaped their future careers.

Military analysts often say that true leadership is measured not by what a leader achieves alone, but by the legacy of leaders they leave behind. If this is the yardstick, then Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has already secured his place in Nigeria’s military history. The officers now occupying some of the highest defence positions in the country stand as living testimonies to his grooming, mentorship, and strategic vision.

As Nigeria continues to navigate complex security challenges, the nation benefits not only from the reforms Buratai implemented but also from the generation of leaders he prepared—leaders who are now shaping the country’s defence strategies at the highest level.

PROPHETIC SHOCKWAVE: How Prophet Kingsley Aitafo Foretold the Coup Attempt That Shook Guinea-Bissau

In a stunning twist that has gripped political observers and the global prophetic community, a prior warning issued by Nigerian cleric Prophet Kingsley Aitafo has resurfaced—this time with chilling accuracy. His prophetic caution about an impending coup plot in Guinea-Bissau has now aligned with the recent attempt to unseat the West African nation’s leadership.

Months before tensions spilled into the open, Prophet Aitafo released a public prophecy highlighting military unrest, internal betrayal, and a looming attempt to destabilize the sitting government. At the time, many dismissed the message as improbable, given Guinea-Bissau’s relative calm. But the sudden eruption of political violence and attempts by elements within the security structure to overthrow the government have rekindled attention to the prophecy.

According to Prophet Aitafo’s earlier revelation, West Africa was entering “a sensitive season where leaders must stay vigilant against internal conspiracies.” He specifically mentioned that Guinea-Bissau was “on the radar of unseen forces pushing for unconstitutional change.”

Those words now appear uncannily prescient. The attempted coup—marked by gunfire, military confrontation, and an effort to seize strategic government assets—matches key elements of Aitafo’s earlier message.

Political analysts believe Guinea-Bissau’s fragile institutions and long history of military influence made it vulnerable, but the timing and manner of events have left many astonished by the prophetic alignment.

Across social media, supporters and observers are revisiting Prophet Aitafo’s warning, calling it yet another confirmation of his spiritual foresight. Many argue that African leaders should begin to pay closer attention to prophetic messages that highlight looming national security threats.

As Guinea-Bissau begins the difficult process of restoring calm and reclaiming stability, many are now asking: What else did the prophet see—and are West African nations truly prepared for what comes next?
