CrimeA Brotherhood Betrayed: Addressing Xenophobic Violence Against Nigerians In Sout by Hunter2009(op): 6:11pm On Mar 18, 2025
A Brotherhood Betrayed: Addressing Xenophobic Violence Against Nigerians in South Africa.

By George O Sylvester

The xenophobic violence against Nigerians in South Africa is a stark reminder of the fractured relationship between two nations that once stood united against oppression. Despite their shared history, particularly during the apartheid era when Nigeria actively supported South Africa's fight for freedom, Nigerians in South Africa face hostility, xenophobic attacks, and economic exclusion ¹.

The Nigerian government's perceived inaction in addressing these atrocities has been criticized, with the Nigerian Mission in South Africa seeming ill-equipped or unwilling to respond decisively. This perceived inaction undermines Nigeria's standing and weakens the resolve of its citizens in the diaspora.

To address this crisis, there are several key steps that the Nigerian government can take:

- *Demand Accountability and Justice*: Ensure that perpetrators of xenophobic violence are held accountable and that justice is served for victims.
- *Strengthen Diplomatic Presence*: Prioritize the protection of Nigerians in South Africa by strengthening diplomatic presence and creating accessible support systems.
- *Promote Unity and Education*: Address the root causes of xenophobia by promoting unity and education, highlighting the historical bonds between the two nations.

The hatred directed at Nigerians in South Africa is a betrayal of their shared history and solidarity. It's time for both nations to reflect on their past and work towards a future rooted in mutual respect and understanding. Nigerians must demand justice, honoring the memory of those lost and the spirit of solidarity that once bound the two nations.

In addition to these steps, it's essential to recognize the importance of education and awareness in addressing xenophobia. By promoting unity and education, we can work towards a future where Nigerians in South Africa are treated with dignity and respect.

Furthermore, the Nigerian government must take concrete actions to support its citizens in the diaspora. This includes providing accessible support systems, strengthening diplomatic presence, and promoting unity and education.

The international community also has a role to play in addressing this crisis. By speaking out against xenophobia and promoting unity and education, we can work towards a future where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.

In other words, the xenophobic violence against Nigerians in South Africa is a stark reminder of the fractured relationship between two nations that once stood united against oppression. Therefore demanding accountability and justice, strengthening diplomatic presence, and promoting unity and education, we can work towards a future rooted in mutual respect and understanding. Nigerians must demand justice, honoring the memory of those lost and the spirit of solidarity that once bound the two nations.

MassKennyD Speaks Out on Bullying in Nollywood, Challenges in the Industry

Beautiful Nollywood actress and young entrepreneur Adebowale Kehinde, popularly known as MassKennyD, has affirmed the existence of bullying in the Nigerian movie industry.

The graduate of Accounting from Esa-Oke College of Technology, Osun State, made this assertion during an interview with Potpourri, where she discussed the challenges she faced while starting out and how her passion for acting kept her going.

She highlighted how bullying, especially from senior colleagues, is a reality many actors experience. “I have never liked the feeling of being bullied. This is something almost every last child can relate with. For this reason, I have a strong aversion to bullying. So, I try not to overstep my boundaries so as not to create issues with senior colleagues because I like to fight for what’s right and just,” she said.

Recalling a particular incident, she shared, “There was a certain time I was spoken to rudely by someone I didn’t recognize while at a location. I didn’t respond in the same manner I was treated. I was quite calm about it, not until one of our coordinators heard about it and had to reprimand the fellow.”

Her Journey into Nollywood
MassKennyD traced her love for acting back to her early years in school. “Right from when I was in primary school, I always enjoyed performing with the Drama & Cultural Group, and this continued in secondary school. After my O’Level education, I met Aunty Laide Bakare, who I looked up to while growing up. I used to call her Aunty Idowu. I told her about my passion for acting, and she officially started taking me along with her to film locations,” she recounted.

However, she desired formal training and was later introduced to the late Dejo Tunfulu, who had an acting academy at the time.

Speaking on the difficulties she encountered, MassKennyD expressed her displeasure with the misconceptions people have about actors.

“People assume that because you appear on their screen, you must be extremely rich and comfortable. But one major challenge is not being as free as I would have loved to, bearing in mind that some people might recognize me,” she explained.

She also addressed the controversial issue of Sex-for-Roles in Nollywood, emphasizing that it should never be an option for any aspiring actress, as it is a dangerous path to take.

Her Rising Career
MassKennyD has appeared in several Nollywood productions, including Owo Ma Go, Inu Ji, Omoge Jemila, Ago Kan Oru, Omo Meji, Temilade Oniyepe, Secretary, Iwa, Akuko Oru, Itele, Oga Google, Kakaki, and Jomiloju, among others. Currently, she is working on Okinni, her own production.

With her dedication, resilience, and talent, MassKennyD continues to carve a niche for herself in the Nigerian film industry, inspiring young actors to pursue their dreams despite the challenges.

Is FirstBank Truly the First in Banking Services? The Many Scandals and Boardroom Allegations

For decades, First Bank of Nigeria (FBN), widely referred to as FirstBank, has prided itself on being a leader in the Nigerian banking sector. Established in 1894, the financial institution has positioned itself as a pillar of strength and reliability, serving millions of customers and businesses across the country and beyond. However, beneath the grandeur of its century-long legacy lies a series of scandals, boardroom power struggles, and allegations that challenge its claim to excellence in banking services.

A Legacy Tainted by Controversy

While FirstBank has built a formidable reputation in the industry, recent years have seen the institution embroiled in controversies that have raised serious concerns about corporate governance, transparency, and ethical banking practices.

One of the most notable scandals in the bank’s recent history was the leadership tussle that rocked its board in 2021. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had to intervene after an alleged improper removal of the bank’s Managing Director, Adesola Adeduntan, by the Board of Directors. The regulatory authority deemed the move as a violation of corporate governance principles and reinstated Adeduntan, highlighting concerns of internal wranglings and executive interference within the institution.

The power struggle within FirstBank’s boardroom has long been a topic of public discussion in Nigeria’s financial circles. The institution has seen a revolving door of leadership changes, with accusations of undue influence by powerful stakeholders, including billionaire businessman Femi Otedola and former board chairman Ibukun Awosika. Reports suggest that internal factions within the bank often engage in a battle of interests, placing political and personal agendas ahead of the bank’s strategic objectives.

Moreover, regulatory authorities have had to step in multiple times to stabilize the governance structure at FirstBank, raising concerns about the institution’s ability to independently manage its affairs.

Beyond governance struggles, FirstBank has not been immune to allegations of financial misconduct. In 2022, reports emerged regarding questionable loan approvals and potential insider dealings that put the bank at risk of financial instability. Some of these allegations pointed to loans granted without adequate collateral, benefiting influential figures with ties to the bank’s leadership.

Additionally, customers have raised complaints over the years about unethical banking practices, including unauthorized deductions, delayed transactions, and poor customer service. These issues, while common across the Nigerian banking sector, call into question whether FirstBank is truly living up to its legacy as the premier financial institution in the country.

Given the crisis engulfing FirstBank, the CBN has maintained a watchful eye over the institution. The apex bank’s intervention in leadership disputes and its mandate for compliance with regulatory frameworks indicate that FirstBank’s operations are not without significant oversight. While such interventions are meant to ensure stability, they also highlight the deep-seated issues within the bank that require continuous monitoring.

Despite these controversies, FirstBank remains a dominant force in the Nigerian banking landscape. Its extensive branch network, digital banking initiatives, and financial products continue to serve millions of customers. However, the multiple governance crises, allegations of financial impropriety, and regulatory interventions suggest that the bank’s claim to being the “first” in banking services is increasingly under scrutiny.

To maintain its esteemed reputation, FirstBank must prioritize corporate governance, transparency, and customer satisfaction. The banking industry is evolving, and with increased competition from both traditional banks and fintech disruptors, FirstBank must clean its house if it truly wants to remain the leader it claims to be.

The question remains: Is FirstBank still the first, or is it just another financial institution grappling with systemic issues? Only time will tell if the bank can rise above its scandals and reaffirm its leadership in the sector.

Coalition Commends Buratai for seeking establishment School Safety Task Force

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups against Terrorism in Nigeria has applauded the former Chief of Army Staff, Ambassador, (Lieutenant-General Rtd) Tukur Buratai on his call for the establishment of school safety task force in the country for the development of education.

Buratai had said that the task force would provide tailored security solutions to schools in high-risk areas across the country.

The Coalition, in a statement by its Convener, Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi and Secretary, Hon. John Atani, said Buratai understands that establishing the task force will help in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.
It noted that the growing number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, especially in the North, would be addressed with the school safety task force.
The Coalition said: “Buartai has once again demonstrated his expertise and concern in addressing insurgency, banditry and out-of-school children in the country.

“The recent report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) that 60 per cent of the 10 million out-of-school children are girls should worry any Nigerian that believes in the leaders of tomorrow.

“Establishing the school safety task force can provide tailored security solutions to high risk areas. Education is a fundamental human right and a critical driver of national development, and if we fail to protect it, we jeopardise the future of our nation.

“However, if we rise to this challenge through innovation, collaboration and unwavering commitment, we can ensure that every Nigerian child has access to safe, equitable, and quality education.”
The Coalition also commended Buratai’s recent interview on Arise Television, saying that the General has addressed the allegations of misappropriations of public funds under his watch.

According to the Coalition, the army recorded unprecedented, outstanding, monumental and incontestable achievements, including counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism, banditry and other sundry crimes, as well as human capital and structural development across the nation under Buratai.

“There was no single fund given to Buratai directly that he used apart from the budgetary processes, and all those budgetary releases were properly accounted for. The records are there in the procurement system of the Nigerian Army.

The Coalition in the statement once again appreciated Ambassador Buratai for his loyalty and selfless services to our nation and humanity. The Coalition also call on our media institutions to always interogate various allegations against distinguished Nigerians who have served the nation meritorioisly. Fact should be established before such news are aired.

CelebritiesBuratai Speaks On Insurgency Fight, Stewardship, And Arms Procurement Controvers by Hunter2009(op): 11:49am On Mar 04, 2025
Buratai Speaks on Insurgency Fight, Stewardship, and Arms Procurement Controversy

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd.), has opened up about his tenure in the fight against insurgency, defending his leadership while acknowledging lingering challenges in Nigeria’s security landscape. Speaking on Arise News this morning, Buratai addressed critical issues ranging from intelligence gathering to allegations of mismanaged military funds, while also highlighting key achievements under his command.

The War Against Insurgency: Did Buratai Deliver?

Buratai, who served as Nigeria’s Army Chief from 2015 to 2021, affirmed that significant progress was made in reclaiming lost territories from Boko Haram and strengthening the Nigerian Army.

“Before 2015, Boko Haram had defined a territory of roughly 120,000 square kilometers. They had cut off several parts of the North-East, including Michika, Madagali, and the borders with Chad and Cameroon. By the time I left office, we had reclaimed all of these,” he stated.

Under his leadership, the Nigerian Army successfully cleared insurgents from multiple local government areas in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, restoring governance in places that were previously under terrorist control. The military also reopened major highways that had been inaccessible for years due to Boko Haram attacks, such as the Maiduguri-Bama road and the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway.

Buratai emphasized that a major focus of his strategy was intelligence-led operations, particularly between 2019 and 2020.

“We had a strategy to track insurgents' logistics, from arms suppliers to food and fuel distributors. If intelligence operations had continued at the same intensity, more progress would have been made,” he stated.

However, when questioned about the military’s use of intelligence to identify terrorist financiers, Buratai clarified that such responsibilities fall under agencies like the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). He acknowledged the synergy between the army and NFIU but reiterated that financial tracking of terrorist sponsors is primarily a task for civilian intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Transforming the Nigerian Army
Beyond counterinsurgency, Buratai spearheaded several modernization initiatives within the Nigerian Army.

Some of his key achievements include:

Expansion and Reorganization: He established new military commands and formations, including the Nigerian Army Special Forces Command and the Army Aviation Corps, aimed at improving rapid response to threats.

Acquisition of Modern Equipment: Under his leadership, the Army procured new armored vehicles, artillery systems, and combat drones to enhance operational effectiveness.

Infrastructural Development: Several military barracks and training facilities were rehabilitated, improving the welfare of soldiers. The Army University Biu was also established to strengthen research and professional military education.

Increased Local Production of Military Hardware: Buratai encouraged indigenous defense manufacturing, leading to the production of mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles and small arms in collaboration with local defense industries.

The Arms Procurement Scandal: A "False and Malicious" Allegation?

Responding to controversies surrounding alleged mismanagement of funds meant for arms procurement, Buratai dismissed these claims as “false and malicious.”

“There was no single fund given to me directly. Every budgetary release was properly accounted for. The $1 billion security fund that has been the subject of speculation was handled by the Ministry of Defence, not the Army,” he asserted.

He further revealed that all military procurement and spending were duly reported to appropriate authorities and that records exist to verify the legitimacy of transactions. He challenged critics to conduct proper investigations rather than rely on “politically motivated” narratives.

Buratai’s Legacy and the Road Ahead

While Buratai’s tenure remains a subject of debate, his supporters argue that he laid the foundation for modernizing the Nigerian Army and restoring territorial control from insurgents. However, critics maintain that insurgency and insecurity remain significant challenges, despite the gains recorded under his leadership.

As Nigeria continues to battle terrorism, banditry, and other security threats, the question remains: Has the country built upon Buratai’s military reforms and superlative achievement , or is it still fighting the same battles with different leadership?

Inside Nigeria’s Bold Plan to Empower 10 Million Women – And Protect Its Children

By Otega Ogra
February 19, 2025 | Abuja, Nigeria

Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, had been in office for just a few days when she cradled a terrified 4-year-old girl—shaking, traumatised—after surviving brutal abuse.

That moment, she says, changed everything.

“I looked into her eyes, and I knew—this cannot be business as usual,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim told reporters in Abuja during a briefing marking her first 100 days in office under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. “The time for slow progress is over. It is Women O’Clock in Nigeria.”

And she’s not kidding.

In just over three months, Sulaiman-Ibrahim has rolled out an ambitious plan to economically empower 10 million Nigerian women by 2027, overhaul child protection laws, and put Nigeria at the frontlines of global gender leadership.

Her message? Policies are not enough. It’s action time.

Big Moves: 10 Million Women By 2027

The minister’s plan centres on a major push to unlock the economic potential of Nigerian women—more than 100 million strong—as drivers of the country’s future.

“We’re not just talking about women’s empowerment as charity,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim said. “We’re talking about building a $1 trillion economy; women will be at the centre of it.”

The Ministry launched the Nigeria for Women Scale-Up Project, backed by the World Bank, to reach 4.5 million women across all 36 states and the capital, Abuja.

The goal? Equip women with business skills, financial literacy, and cooperative funding to start and grow businesses.

But that’s not all.

A partnership with WEMA Bank is rolling out the MOWA-SARA Skills Acquisition Program, which targets 500,000 women for training in vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and digital finance.

In Kano State, the pilot program is already training 2,500 women in tailoring, catering, and hospitality.

And coming next—a National Microfinance Framework for Women Entrepreneurs to give women affordable loans and investment tools to build their futures.

No Child Left Behind

Economic empowerment is only part of the story.
The other half?
Protecting Nigeria’s most vulnerable—its children.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim made it clear: The nation’s children are now a top priority.

A Child Rights Act Review Committee is already working to toughen laws against child abuse, trafficking, and underage marriage—problems that have plagued Nigeria for years.

“We’re closing the loopholes. We’re making sure no abuser escapes justice,” the Minister said.

But she’s not stopping at laws.
Her Ministry is developing a National Child Protection Framework—a first-of-its-kind nationwide system to safeguard children—and is exploring the creation of a dedicated institution focused solely on child welfare.

In the meantime, Sulaiman-Ibrahim is tackling the everyday struggles holding girls back.
Her national menstrual hygiene campaign is distributing 10,000 menstrual kits to girls, aiming to keep them in school and break the stigma around periods.

Violence? Not On Her Watch

Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s message on gender-based violence is blunt: Enough is enough. Representing Nigeria at the Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Bogotá, Colombia, she unveiled bold targets:
2 million children at risk of violence will receive support services by 2030.
10 million families will get evidence-based parenting support to prevent abuse at home.

“Nigeria is standing up,” she said. “We are saying—we will protect our children.”

Clean Energy for Survival

Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s focus also extends to climate survival, knowing that women in rural areas bear the harshest burden.
Her team is pushing to transition 1 million households from firewood cooking to clean energy solutions, reducing health risks and environmental damage.

Taking Nigeria to the World

But Sulaiman-Ibrahim isn’t just shaking things up at home—she’s putting Nigeria on the global map for gender equality leadership.

This March, Nigeria will host six high-impact sessions—a historic first—on financial inclusion, women's leadership, and child protection at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York.

At COP29 in Azerbaijan, her Ministry will push for gender-focused climate action, demanding that women’s voices be part of global climate solutions.

“We are no longer on the sidelines. Nigeria is leading the global gender conversation,” she said.

The Road Ahead

The High-Level Presidential Advisory Council on Women and Girls has been formed to keep the momentum—bringing together policy leaders to ensure these programs don’t just stay on paper.

“We are breaking down doors so Nigerian women and children get what they deserve,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim said.

Her message to Nigerians?

“It is Women O’Clock. We are not asking for permission. We are moving forward.”

The Bottom Line

In 100 days, Sulaiman-Ibrahim has taken Nigeria’s Ministry of Women Affairs from rhetoric to action.

The stakes are high.
But for the millions of Nigerian women and children depending on her, failure is not an optionV.

“We will get this done,” she said, with fire in her voice.
“Because their future depends on it.”

Empowering Vision: Prophet Samuel Akindobunse's Sermon on Building Capacity at FANO

In a service filled with spiritual insight and inspiration, Prophet Samuel Akindobunse delivered a powerful sermon on February 16 at Freedom for All Nations Outreach (FANO), South Africa. Titled "Rivers of Revelation: Building Capacity," the message centered on how embracing vision and building capacity can transform lives and bring God-given dreams to fruition.

The Power of Prayer and Scripture

The service began with heartfelt prayers that set the tone for divine connection and hope:

Father, provide for my needs. Father, help me out of my troubles.
Father, we thank You and honor You. You are the reason we gather here, and we believe that You have touched every individual. Help every man, help every woman, and leave no one behind.

These prayers were followed by anchor scriptures that underscored the themes of perseverance, faith, and purpose:

James 1:2-4 (NKJV): "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

Matthew 4:18-22 (NKJV): The passage recounts how Jesus called Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John to follow Him and become "fishers of men," a testament to the power of calling and purpose.

Building Capacity for Vision

Prophet Akindobunse outlined the essential relationship between vision and capacity building:
Vision Shapes Capacity:
"Your vision and the purpose of your vision will help you build capacity," Prophet Akindobunse explained. Developing the vision God has given is each person’s responsibility.

He referenced Abraham, who received a divine promise but had to align his vision with God’s to see it manifest. "What brings promises to reality is vision," Akindobunse emphasized.

Overcoming Challenges:

Every great vision faces trials. Prophet Akindobunse encouraged the congregation to embrace these challenges as stepping stones to capacity building.

Using Joseph as an example, he highlighted how Joseph’s success in Potiphar’s house was due to his ability to let go of past hurts and focus on his present assignment. "The battle is when you want to run today with yesterday’s problems," Akindobunse said.

Utilizing Flawed Yet Essential Resources:

Even flawed individuals can play critical roles in fulfilling a vision. Prophet Akindobunse pointed out that Judas Iscariot—despite his flaws—had financial acumen that supported Jesus’s ministry. "God equips every vision with the necessary resources," he remarked.

Key Types of Capacity

Human Resource Capacity:

Covered in a previous sermon, this focuses on utilizing people with various talents and strengths.

Intellectual Capacity: The realm of knowledge and wisdom. "Surround yourself with knowledgeable people," Prophet Akindobunse urged. "Wisdom is key to success."

A Lesson from Leadership

Prophet Akindobunse also offered leadership lessons from the life of Joseph. Despite his personal struggles, Joseph led with faith and determination, never announcing his problems but instead using his vision to inspire trust. "Capacity building builds trust, and trust opens doors for connections and opportunities," the Prophet said.

Prophetic Prayers and Declarations

The service concluded with powerful prophetic prayers and declarations:

Oh Lord, open my eyes to choose what is right for the vision You have given unto me.

Oh Lord, make me wise for the sake of my vision.

The Prophet also declared blessings of favor for the upcoming week, leaving attendees inspired and ready to take on their challenges with renewed faith.

Final Reflections

Prophet Akindobunse’s sermon was a clarion call to action for those seeking to manifest their visions. By building capacity, embracing challenges, and surrounding oneself with wisdom, individuals can unlock divine opportunities. "Every vision God gives to man has the capacity to sustain you and give you everything you need," Akindobunse concluded, sending the congregation home with hope and determination.
As attendees left FANO that Sunday, the atmosphere was charged with inspiration, gratitude, and a readiness to rise above trials. Prophet Akindobunse’s message of vision and capacity building promises to resonate well beyond the walls of the church, empowering many to live out their God-ordained destinies.

Buratai Champions Nigeria’s Push for Electric Vehicle Manufacturing at Research Centre

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd) has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s technological and environmental landscape, as the Tukur Buratai Research Center hosted an exhibition by BYD Motors, a leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer. Buratai, who serves as the Chairman of the research center, emphasized the need to overcome cost barriers to EV adoption in Nigeria. “We have become conscious of the environment and are seeking alternative ways to power our vehicles and homes,” he stated, underscoring the country’s readiness to embrace sustainable mobility. The event, held at the Tukur Buratai Research Centre in Gora, showcased BYD’s ambitious plans for Nigeria’s EV sector, including the potential establishment of an assembly plant. Two models with a driving range of 500km and 600km per charge were on display, equipped with home charging kits capable of a full charge within eight hours. BYD’s Technical Head, Mr. Rhak Argo, estimated that a full charge would cost approximately N14,000, providing a week’s worth of travel.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the Special Guest of Honour, commended Buratai’s leadership and described him as a key figure in national development. He also highlighted Buratai’s foundational role in combating banditry in Zamfara State. “Whatever success recorded today in the fight against banditry is a foundation laid down by General Tukur Buratai,” Yari noted. The exhibition also featured the Ketti District property development project, touted as “Africa’s First Net-Zero Green City,” and a furniture showcase in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority.

Mr. Moses Ayom, Managing Director of BYD Motors Nigeria, reinforced the company’s commitment to making Nigeria a hub for EVs in West Africa. “BYD means ‘Build Your Dream,’ and our mission is to ensure that Nigeria embraces the global trend towards electric mobility,” he said. He highlighted China’s success, where 85% of vehicles are already electric, with a target of full EV adoption by 2030. With BYD Motors considering an EV assembly plant in Nigeria, Buratai’s research center has positioned itself as a strategic hub for innovation and sustainable development. The collaboration marks a significant step towards transforming Nigeria into a key player in the electric vehicle market across the region.

Christianity EtcProphecy Fulfilled: Prophet Kingsley Aitafo's Prediction On Terrorism Funding Ex by Hunter2009(op): 8:33am On Feb 16, 2025
Prophecy Fulfilled: Prophet Kingsley Aitafo's Prediction on Terrorism Funding Exposed

Prophet Kingsley Aitafo, a prominent Nigerian cleric known for his bold prophecies, recently made headlines with a prediction regarding terrorism in Nigeria. During a time when the nation was grappling with heightened fears of a potential breakup due to terrorism, Aitafo assured Nigerians that no such division would occur. He also predicted that those funding terrorism would be exposed, a prophecy that seems to have found validation in recent international revelations.

In a recent development, United States Congressman Scott Perry made a damning allegation during a hearing of the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency. Perry, a Republican representing Pennsylvania, claimed that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) had been funding terrorist organizations, including Boko Haram, to the tune of $697 million annually.

Perry's assertions have sparked significant concern among security experts and diplomats in Nigeria. According to Perry, USAID’s reported allocation of $136 million for building 120 schools in Pakistan resulted in “zero evidence” of any schools being constructed. He further questioned the annual allocation of $60 million for the Women’s Scholarship Endowment and $5 million for the Young Women Lead program, suggesting that these funds may have been diverted to support terrorist activities rather than empowering women.

The revelation has raised alarms about the potential misuse of taxpayer funds and the inadvertent support of terrorism. Security analysts have expressed concern over the implications of such funding on Nigeria’s internal security and stability. Many have called for a thorough investigation into the allegations and a review of international aid programs to ensure transparency and accountability.

Prophet Aitafo’s prophecy, which came during a tumultuous time in Nigeria’s history, now seems to carry new weight. His prediction about the exposure of terrorism financiers has resonated with many who see Perry’s revelations as a confirmation of Aitafo’s foresight.

As investigations continue, many Nigerians are calling for greater vigilance in tracking the sources of terrorism funding. The exposure of such funding channels is seen as a critical step in combating terrorism and securing lasting peace in the region.

This unfolding story underscores the importance of international cooperation in addressing terrorism and ensuring that aid programs are not exploited by those seeking to destabilize nations. For many, Prophet Kingsley Aitafo’s prophecy has become a beacon of hope, symbolizing the eventual triumph of truth and justice over the forces of terror.

CelebritiesThe Busy Bees And Their Laughable Attempt At A Smear Campaign Against The Siu Co by Hunter2009(op): 11:34am On Jan 30, 2025
THE BUSY BEES AND THEIR LAUGHABLE ATTEMPT AT A SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SIU COMMANDER

By Aisha Ahmed Tanko
January 30, 2025

This has to be one of the weakest and most desperate mudslinging attempts in recent memory. It is clear that some elements, running out of options, are now grasping at straws in their bid to remove CSP Taiwo Oyewale—Commander of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). The level of desperation is not only transparent but also pitiful.

If these faceless little busy bees had any real conviction in their propaganda, they would have had the nerve to show their faces instead of hiding behind a keyboard to throw around baseless, laughable, and downright dumb accusations. But that’s the thing about cowards—they always operate in the shadows, whispering lies, hoping something will stick.

Before I proceed, it is important to state, for the record, that CSP Taiwo Oyewale, LLB, BL, LLM (in view), is not just another officer in the Nigeria Police Force—she is an intellectual and professional powerhouse whose qualifications and track record speak for themselves. She graduated with a Diploma in Law and was the Best Graduating Student in her class at Baze University, Abuja.

Beyond that, she holds two advanced diplomas—one in Security Operations and Management and another in Law Enforcement Administration. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Language Arts.

In terms of practical experience, she has served in some of the most critical and intelligence-driven units of the Nigeria Police Force, including: Special Fraud Unit, Special Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos, Force Intelligence, Abuja, FCID, Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

By every stretch of the imagination, CSP Taiwo Oyewale is far beyond the league of these busy little bees. And that is precisely the problem—they simply cannot deal with it. It burns them to no end that a woman with such an impeccable record, sharp intellect, and unshakable integrity is leading the charge against their criminal associates. They have thrown everything at her—lies, smear campaigns, and media manipulation—yet she remains unshaken. And that, dear busy bees, is your real pain.

At this point, it is crucial for the public to understand that the plot to remove the Commander from SIU began the very first week she assumed office. Their initial desperate attempt was to accuse her of writing, editing, and printing the CV of her boss—a laughable claim that fell flat on its face. When that failed spectacularly, they shifted gears, fabricating baseless lies and pushing them into the media, hoping something would stick.

The claim that the SIU Commander and Jesam Michael are lovers is both cheap and tasteless. And what do they have to back up this wild accusation? A manipulated audio recording being circulated alongside other baseless claims. If there was even a shred of truth to this nonsense, these busy bees would be throwing a victory parade by now. But no, all they have is a weak and desperate attempt at blackmail, proving, once again, that the only people trying to cover anything up are the ones screaming the loudest.

This pathetic and recycled lie about the Commander demanding lands, properties, and dollars has been debunked so many times that it now belongs in the archives of beer-parlor gossip and market-square chatter. Yet, the little busy bees keep regurgitating it, hoping that if they repeat it enough times, it will magically become true. The real sting in their pain is the fact that, despite all their scheming, despite all their conspiracies, they have failed—miserably—to frame the Commander. That’s what’s eating them up. That’s why they are running around in circles, throwing baseless accusations like confetti at a cheap carnival. But here’s the bitter truth for them: no matter how hard they try, no matter how desperately they fabricate stories, they will never be able to rewrite reality. Facts don’t bow to fiction.

Another ridiculous lie being peddled is that the Commander “boasts of being untouchable.” Just pause for a second and let that sink in. Is this really the best they could come up with? It sounds like something out of a badly written soap opera. These busy bees need to fire their scriptwriters—this is embarrassing.

Let’s get something straight: before CSP Taiwo Oyewale took over, the SIU was a unit marred by corruption and negative press. There are multiple news reports, articles, and TV interviews where its immediate past leadership was accused of using the SIU as a safe haven for criminals. These reports are all available for those who care to do a simple Google search. What we are seeing now is nothing more than an attempt to bury the past and silence a commander who refuses to play along with the rot. And if these little busy bees thought that leaking a weak, chopped-up voice recording would stop the Commander from going after Jesam Michael, they have another thing coming.

Despite the desperate claims that she was living in Jesam Michael’s house, CSP Taiwo Oyewale has continued to discharge her duties with professionalism and integrity. Here’s a fact for those struggling with basic comprehension: she was a tenant in one of his properties—paying rent like any other law-abiding citizen. The moment she realized the kind of character she was dealing with, she took the necessary steps and moved out. Simple. Can the same be said for the little busy bees, who are deeply entangled with this character and most likely being blackmailed by him? The truth has a way of revealing itself, and these people will soon have nowhere to hide.

Even after all these failed stunts, they seized upon the operation conducted at Jesam Michael’s house—an operation that only happened after he repeatedly ignored invitations to respond to damning allegations against him from the public. They saw this as their golden opportunity to twist the narrative, but once again, they underestimated the resilience of both the truth and the Commander.

It is beyond laughable that these bees think they can use this poorly executed blackmail attempt to stall or derail the SIU’s investigation into Jesam Michael. Their desperation is now on full display. At this rate, why aren’t they out on the streets carrying placards in support of their “Lion’s Tiger”—whatever that means? If Jesam Michael is innocent, let him prove it. Why was he trying to flee the country before he was caught at the airport? He has been dared multiple times to bring out his evidence. And what has he done? He has produced manipulated chat messages, which can be forged by anyone with basic tech skills, and an edited voice recording that conveniently leaves out key parts of the conversation. Pathetic. This isn’t even a sophisticated attempt at deception; it’s just sloppy and embarrassing. It’s a reflection of the collective IQs of the busy little bees.

These clowns claim that under ACP Asuquo, there was “no single case of corruption.” Really? The same Jesam Michael who has been accused of using the SIU to suppress victims was operating under that administration. These allegations are public knowledge, documented in multiple reports. But here we are, watching a desperate PR campaign try to rewrite history with cheap lies. It won’t work.

And now, the bees are throwing out a new, laughable accusation—that CSP Taiwo Oyewale is having an affair with the Inspector General of Police. Laughing out loud for real. This is the best they could come up with again? They’re not only bad at executing smear campaigns, but they’re also terrible at gossip. What exactly are they good at? Spreading falsehoods like third-rate propagandists?

Then there’s the shameless and baseless claim that she is the one “writing for the IGP.” Do these people even hear themselves? It is a well-known fact in professional and academic circles that subordinates are often tasked with research duties by their superiors. This is a normal practice in any structured organization. If the SIU Commander was entrusted with research assignments, it is a testament to her competence and professionalism. The real question is, who among these little busy bees has ever been given a research assignment by anyone in authority? They should be embarrassed, not making noise about things they don’t understand.

These faceless cowards continue to spew garbage they can’t substantiate. If there was an auction, list the bidders. If there was corruption, provide evidence. Instead, all they can do is exhibit their low IQs with vague, baseless statements.

These desperate elements have repeatedly encouraged complainants to take to social media to peddle falsehoods, all in a calculated effort to bully and embarrass the Commander into submission. Their goal? To manipulate ongoing investigations by creating a media circus around cases she was handling.

CSP Taiwo Oyewale is doing the work necessary to restore faith in the SIU. The unit was in shambles before she took over, and that’s a fact. The way she is facing stiff resistance from criminal elements and their allies only proves that she is on the right track and a light that can’t be extinguished.

And let this be on record: the Commander will not be intimidated. She will continue to carry out her duties with the highest level of professionalism, despite the obvious resistance from these desperate little busy bees who lack the courage to put their real names on their weak, low-grade publications.

So to the faceless cowards behind this nonsense: reveal yourselves, if you dare. The light is shining brighter now, and your days of hiding in the dark are numbered.

PoliticsAmbode's Ambition Of Return And Seyi Tinubu's Political Trajectory BY IDOWU AJA by Hunter2009(op): 10:07am On Jan 30, 2025
Ambode's ambition of return and Seyi Tinubu's political trajectory
BY IDOWU AJANAKU

Quote:

" Leadership is something you earn, something you are chosen for"
-Ben Roethlisberger

The strong and solid factors that always stand a candidate's ambition in good stead within the socio--political dynamics of a local community, state or federal government level include vision, character, commitment, and consistency or call it constancy of purpose. That is especially so with regards to that person's guiding philosophies, principles and purposefulness, if driven by humility, integrity, honesty of purpose all within the perspective of the larger picture.

Good enough, it would be a point of reference if such a person has held a public position before and distinguished himself in terms of performance. That precisely, underscores the relevance of the recent media mention of the political ambition of the former governor of Lagos state, Akinwumi Ambode to return to that same pedestal of power, some eight years after he lost that bid to continue in office. Though that wave of interest is currently gathering momentum there are still some hurdles and hitches to scale over. That is where that of the young entrepreneur and politician, who happens to be heir to the throne of the political juggernaut and incumbent President Ahmed Tinubu comes into the unfolding picture. He is none other than the affable, resourceful and dynamic Seyi Tinubu.

Periscoped from a personal perspective, one can objectively describe him as " a smart and enterprising" man who has learnt the ropes from his father. Indeed, he deserves to be applauded for the noble and notable role he played as a dependable catalyst to see his father's presidential ambition to the light of day.

Ever since, he has deployed similar energy by galvanizing the youths across the nooks and crannies of the country to actively support the "Renewed Hope" agenda. This is a commendable initiative, is it not? Of course, it is. Ahead of the 2027 presidential election therefore, he is well admonished to channel such support towards achieving his father's reelection. That is, instead of dissipating such as a candidate to become the Lagos State governor. That would provide a positive political leverage for Ambode's return to power. If done, Ambode will have the opportunity to put in place measures and mechanisms to lubricate the political engine for Seyi to compete for and eventually become the governor come the year 2031 when his father would be completing his tenure. That would be a more interesting scenario. And that brings us back to Ambode's ambition for the 2027 gubernatorial race. Like it or not, his remarkable achievements over his first term in office, speak volumes.

According to seasoned analysts, and as attested to by the opinion of millions of residents of the state of aquatic splendor, the iconic economist from the backwaters of Epe literally wrote his name in gold while the governor. There are empirical evidences on ground traversing the sectors of infrastructure, security, food security through healthcare delivery, education, transportation to entertainment. In fact, he left Lagos much better in terms of the Human Development indices ( HDI ) than he met it.

For instance, it would interest the reader to know, or be reminded that it was during Ambode's tenure that the hitherto long-winding and seemingly intractable traffic congestion challenge was frontally tackled. That came about with the construction of his signature jubilee flyover bridges at places such as Abule-Egba, Ajah and that at Pen Cinema junction, as they came into being.

Interestingly, the mere mention of the name "Ambode" and the appreciative Lagosians will reel out the construction and rehabilitation of 500 roads across the five districts of the ever - busy cosmopolitan city of Lagos. In fact, the people of Alimosho Local Government Area, LGA would remain grateful for the well- paved roads with modern drainage system. And those at Ojodu-Berger axis have been enjoying the solution to the once asphyxiating traffic jam that characterized the area sparking fisticuffs between the transporters and the commuters. Yet, there are more noteworthy projects to remember Ambode for.

From the reconstructed Murtala Muhammed International Airport road converted from 4 to 10- lane highway, with ramp bridge and flyover to the 21st Century iconic Oshodi Transport Interchange equipped
with three terminals, 18 lifts as well as CCTv cameras the handwriting of impactful governance are there for all to see, to admire and to appreciate. It is so inspiring that Ambode was able to build on the achievements of his predecessors to rid Oshodi as the popular den of hardened criminals. But there is more to the feats achieved under Ambode's tenure to gladden the heart of patriots.

Lest we forget, with regards to reinforcement of security in the city with ever bubbling population, Ambode granted N6.6 billion for security agents though belonging to the federal government. He signed into law the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps. In addition was the Lagos State Properties Protection Law to protect the land owners from the nefarious activities of the notorious land grabbers.

And on transportation the Bus Reform Initiative enhanced public transportation with 5,000 new buses, out of which 434 buses boosted the busy Ikorodu corridor.

Furthermore, in the critical health sector under Ambode, the popular Ayinke House was transformed from an 80- bed facility into the ultra - modern 170-bed Specialist Centre. Also, the LASUTH complex was equipped with a helipad for medical emergency and the nation's first ever DNA forensic centre.

Apart from the popular Lake Rice that came up as the Lagos-Kebbi rice project which boosted food security with cheaper and safer rice, Ambode ensured that the people of Lagos were made happier with the building of theatres in Alimosho,Badagry, Ikeja and Epe. That was with the Eko Theatre project in the entertainment sector. One could go on and on. But all these highly commendable achievements remind us of the wise words of Joe DiMaggio who stated that: “ A person always doing his or her best becomes a natural leader, just by example".

So, as events unfold in the coming years, if there is one man to be considered worthy of the prestigious post of the governorship of the Centre of Excellence he should be Akinwumi Ambode. He has been there before, did his best and must have learnt from his mistakes in the volatile politicking landscape. Good enough, he has weathered the storm, kept his cool in the midst of it all without casting aspersion on his political traducers. As he aptly stated, back in September 2018 while asking for Second Term: " I ask you to believe again and together, let us achieve more...to build a secure and prosperous Lagos state driven by a vibrant economy, supported by quality service, equity and justice".

AJANAKU, was a former special adviser on information and strategy to Gov. Ambode
