PentiumPro: Load of crap. Go and learn more about the Aburi accord and the resolutions. It was a war that was clearly could have been prevented if Ojukwu was not on ego trip with Gowon. Both were army officers that suffered juvenile delinquencies and human beings were sacrificed to massage their egos.. If Gowon had respected the Aburi accord would there have been a war? They started the war by invading us. |

Sirsubway1: Now I know you have no shame. FG didnt build the seaport, the FG should annex your region too since they built the Niger bridge. You see what greed is doing to your life. This is terrible. If there is any former capital on my ancestral land then same should apply but there is none. What is your problem? Are we going to drive you away from your land? smh. |

Sirsubway1: Everyone can now see the greed in these people. An average Ibo man will rather die in Lagos than return to there erosion republic. You want regionalism yet crying over Lagos. Why should my people be excluded from there Yoruba kinsmen, is that not madness and greed for these landgrabbers. Smh I never said you lagos Yorubas should be excluded from your brothers in the Sw what I am saying that as a former captial, it should have some sort of special ststus don't you think so? I also said same should be applied to Abuja & Calabar why are the people of those states not splashing spit everywhere like you? Are you the only one that has ancestral land? Who wants to grab your land? |

PentiumPro: Ojukwu didn't fight any war of survival, he fought an ego trip war with Gowon. He simply found it belittling to come under Gowon. They lied so much about the cause, the course and the outcome of the civil war to you young generation of Ibos. Ojukwu once ranted more than you are doing now, he sacrificed over 3m of your fathers for it. For goodness sakes how did Ojukwu fight a war because of ego? Are you not aware of the pogroms that took place in the north and how easterners were being killed for what they knew nothing about? Ojukwu did not sacrifice our people, they were killed by Nigerians and for your info, the bulk of our people that died during that war was from starvation which eventually led to the end of the war. Nigeria suffered heavier military casualties confronting a Biafran side whose standard riffle was the bolt action. We were better on the battle field. |

QuotaSystem: [s]The only bitterness following Buhari's election is the one that has always been in the heart of iPods against him even before the elections. You're all just being sore losers that are too weak to survive in the opposition.
You honestly expect the North to give away its political capital because some people are sore losers?
I reckon the futile agitation is just a coping mechanism to avoid being rendered totally irrelevant. [/s] What nonsense are you talking about? The FCT is in the MB and it will go with the MB if Nigeria must split or will the inavder from fouta jallon march down there to capture the city like they are doing to Agatu now? It will not be an easy ride. |

Goke7: so all these calls about regionalism and federalism is just because of the loss of last year elections?
That can never be a strong basis for true federalism, it means we are merely playing politics, if my candidate does not win elections, I will simply be shouting resource control and regionalism eh?
it means we are all jokers then Is that the only thing I wrote there? You saw only that sentence because that is what you wanted to see. You can think whatever you like, all I know is that Regionalism is the answer. |

QuotaSystem: What I find funny is the timing of this clamour for change of Nigeria's governance structure.
So now that power at the centre is back in the hands of the North/SW, you suddenly want the centre to be weakened?
Now that it has been proven that politics of hatred and ethnic bigotry by the SE is totally powerless in today's politics of alliances, and it must build bridges with those it detests to survive? You suddenly want the Presidency to be as useless as the National Orientation Agency?
Good luck. Even the SW have been calling for this, some prominent men from the region are also saying the same thing. This will be the best for all Nigerians as it will put an end to the type of bitterness surrounding presidential elections like the last one that produced Buhari. The northern regions will also elect men they like to harness their potential and develop at their own pace. |

Igbos of the lower Benue, the Umu-ezeokaha people in the NC, Anioma, Obigbo and others in the SS. The must all be returned to where they belong, therefore, before the creation of any region, all Igbo elements must given the opportunity to vote to join their Igbo brothers in their region. Nigeria has divided the Igbo nation for far too long Exactly my brother. We have to redraw our lines well. I am happy a lot of us are beginning to realise this. |

blackpanda: so in other words, we will be back to the same problem. The creation of state or region is not the issue. What Nigerians need is development and infrastructure. It doesn't matter whether it was done by a premier or a governor or a prime minister! No we will not be back to the same problem for the three big tribes. Since some people agreed to be lumped together and hitting their chest shouting 'We SS' then let them suffer about that. |

There is a loud call from different parts of the country for true federalism while others have called for regionalism. I support regionalism where we will have six regions in Nigeria and each region would be free to make their own laws, create as many states as they want, control their resources and develop at their own pace. A certain percentage will be paid monthly to the FG which will then be not too attractive. Under this system, there will be less tribal bitternes because for every election, all the candidates will be from among the indigenous people so whoever wins would be accepted by all. There will be no need for MASSOB/IPOB, MEND, NDA, boko haram, OPC/Agbekoya, fulani herdsmen, etc. While I support the call for regionalism, I support a regional system whereby the present FCT(Abuja) and all other former capitals i.e Lagos & Calabar would be under the control of the FG. This way, everyone will be happy and Nigeria will move forward. Shalom. |

RockHard: SuperS1Panther is absolutely correct. Abeg which geopolitical zone does Lagos fall under?? Abi where is Lagos situated if not in the same SW?? Or better still, why not tell us the geopolitical zone that better fits that position than the SW, since you are obviously having issues coming to terms with a simple fact?? I will open a thread soon on what our proposed regionalism should look like. Stay tuned. |
