As you know, we don't supporting plagiarism here. You should have put the comment inside a quotation box so that those that don't know the original source know that you quoted sureb0y.

Can you edit the post by posting the comment as a quote.
Egbon, sureboy na my boss and honestly I didn't see it from this angle, that was why I put his name first. Let me put courtesy there then, will that be better? Cos there are some things I'm still learning on nairaland

Hi.

Are you trying to quote "Sureboy" or you're replying to "Sureboy"?

No Sir, just wrote his name there so that the person I'm replying would know who to give the credit to. It was one of sureboy's post

If I change department, will I be able to get a GA or another assistantship/teaching on US schools. I am hoping to apply for my Phd, and thinking of changing department

Courtesy: sureb0y

QUICK TIP!!!

This is for those who want to write strong letters of motivation. I figured a way that might work if executed properly. I wanted to transfer from my department into another department which to be honest, I don't think I'm very qualified for. What did I do? I scheduled an appointment with the department's Graduate Coordinator. I went to her office and I asked her questions about the department. I asked stuff like how ranked the department is in the US, what the course is really like especially the courses students are mostly scared to take, placement of recent graduates and what they went on to do with their lives, I asked if they admitted students with backgrounds from totally different disciplines and the chance of getting in (and if so, what are they really considering from such students), what the department was moving towards in terms of development, etc. It was a trap cheesy She told me everything about the department, what they're looking for, was indirectly bragging about how this and that, etc. Lobatan.

I went back home, and composed a letter of motivation. I wrote about myself in a way that plugged into everything that was going on in that department. I personalized everything she told me and made it look like that's what I'm really looking for. Don't want to go into much details, but I really wrote it in a way that reflected all she told me during our meeting. Even my future plans mirrored what most of their recent graduates went on to do. I picked particular interest in that course she said many people didn't like haha cheesy I submitted my application on Monday, Tuesday afternoon, they had already made a decision and she asked for another appointment to come so she'd show me around again and get me more familiar with the department. Na my $255 Paco Rabanne perfume work that one, She wan see baba again cheesy

Now, how to execute this plan. I think you should call the grad coordinator of the department you want to gain admission into. If possible, schedule an appointment via email and let it be a convenient time for them to talk. If you can't call, email could work too. Have a list of questions to ask. The point is to get them to tell you about the department, about the students already in the department, what they're really looking for, what students have gone on to do with their lives after school, etc. Get them to talk, talk, talk. After the conversation, carry your fingers and write a letter that's going to plug into the scope.

Don't know if this makes any sense, I rushed it. Apologies for any typos and incoherence. Cold wan finish my fingers. it's 24F/-4C here. Bye.

Hi guys,
So i googled "U.S student visa interview :nairaland" about 3weeks before my interview. I have a virgin passport, first time I'm applying for any visa and also, i applied to just one school. I literarily read every transcript form thread 9-11, coupled with fasting and prayer and after everything.........................hmm
It was approved grin grin grin grin
While on the queue, I didn't listen or look at the peeps being interviewed, cause I knew too much rejections might throw me off my game
I only listened when I was queued at window 5, and I was lucky enough to hear the V.O tell the guy being interviewed to keep is answers brief and straight to the point (my sister told me to give detailed explanations for every question and I planned to do just that). Surprisingly, the V.O started staring straight at me even though the guy being interviewed was still answering his questions. He rejected the guy, I stepped forward and my transcript goes thus:

V.O: Good morning (with a smile)
Me: Good morning (with my fake smile)

V.O: So why are you going to the U.S? (Starts typing)
Me: For my MLA

V.O: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I considered three but applied to just one

V:O: Which schools did you consider?
Me: Colorado state Uni
Pennsylvania State Uni
WVU

V.O: What did you study as an undergrad?
Me: Botany

V.O: So what's the course about
Me: LARC utilizes core aspects of science and arts to produce the best use of........

V.O: You said Arts? So how does this relate to botany?
Me: A part of botany is horticulture, which involves the use of ornamental plants for artistic purposes

V.O: *Nodds* (types furiously for what seemed like 24hrs) Study hard and goodluck (with a smile and an outstretched white paper
Me: Thank you very much (with a real smile grin)

I thank Baba God and y'all.....These transcripts really helped me, and I hope mine helps others too
Your sharpness dey vex.... Congrats Bro.

Sir I get your point but with all due respect all the private mock interviews that have been going on before now hasn't in any way hinder the progress of this thread . we do it privately and still comeback here to contribute. ..there are a some things that cant be done here openly such as transactions . I believe the pm was created for a reason to so its our right to decide where we choose share our information as its suits our comfortability ..there are some personal stuff that goes on behind the scene that need not be discussed openly . there's a different between the past and the future we cannot continue to use old methods to tackle the same challenges .. we are evolving tongue grin wink

LOL, SORRY ABOUT THAT , WELL ..LET ME START BY SAYING I APPLIED TO WEST TEXAS A &M UNIVERSITY FOR SPRING AND I WAS JUST TOLD TO SUBMIT MY Foreign Credential Evaluation Report AND I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE THAT WHEN APPLYING !! SO MY QUESTION WAS CAN MY SCHOOL HERE IN NIGERIA WRITE A LETTER TO WEST TEXAS A &M UNIVERSITY TO WAIVE THE WES EVALUATION ? IN FORM OF AN OFFICIAL LETTER BECAUSE MY RESULT IS WAY ABOVE 3.0 GPA OF US STANDARD !!1 THE TRUTH IS I DONT WANT TO WASTE MONEY ON WES EVALUATION THE MONEY IS TOO MUCH JARE !!!
There's no other way around it, you have to evaluate ur transcript as its part of their requirements. You should have read all the requirements before applying, I made the same mistake to another school and it was an outright rejection. I'll advice you to either evaluate your transcript or look for another school that does not require evaluation.

Hi everyone here, please what are the prospects of doing Nutrition science or public health in the united state for either MSC or PHD. if their are no prospects for these, please what are other phd courses someone with health science education(School and community health edu) could do in the US that can guarantee one job after its completion and staying permanently in the United state

The prospect for nutrition is great, but before you apply, make sure the nutrition program is accredited by ACEND. Check these out...
