If you plan to school in Teesside, stay outside the Middlesbrough area so you can get a job easily and focus on your studies

The work placement option is nice if you have experience and can get something in your field. 2 yrs also allows you to spread payment and not be under lots of pressure

Bro you don’t have to use a reference for a current employer. Just tell them you can’t and offer the alternative of payslips, or other document options. Or better still, if you are friends with someone in the organisation, use them instead.
