frapzkid:Alright. |
Good evening, I have someone who went for her interview (F1) and it was approved. she was asked to collect her passport in a couple of days at the location she opted for. she was also given the white paper that talks about collection of issued visa and locations in Nigeria etc.. However, she was not given the small white slip that says congratulations, and on the white paper she was given, the following was written "COLLECTING YOUR ISSUED U.S VISITORS' VISA". Is this unusual or a mistake on the part of the VO. Or this is the new trend. |
Davidkking:Alright. Thanks |
Good Afternoon Good People, pls who can give me a site to book relatively cheap flights. This is my first time and I have seen some sites but before I go ahead and pay money and to avoid mistakes, I want to know if there's a better way than mine. Or is using an agent any better? |
pierre92:Congratulations. As Great Men. Please I need your phone number. |
Good People, here goes my interview on 30th of May 2019 V.O -Where are you going to? ME- I am going to Arkansas tech university for my master's degree in Emergency management and homeland security V.O- Why this school? ME- when I did my research online, I discovered the schools has done a lot of research work in the area of public health hazards and responses to diseases epidemics, especially the work of Dr Sandy Smith in this areas also spurred my interest. V.O- Which course and school did you finish from? ME- I obtained the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the university of Benin V-O- Why the change of course, you read Pharmacy and now Emergency management? ME- No, I am not changing, the emergency management master's degree helps me as a Pharmacist to manage public health disasters effectively. Medical practitioners are first responders to cases of disasters so as a Pharmacist, there should be proper coordination of the delivery of drugs and vaccines to this victims for example the victims of boko haram. ( I prepared better than this, with very eloquent responses but as the interview started I couldn't just reply the way I planned, started improvising and almost even stuttered at some point). V.O- Did you write any standard exams? ME- Yes, GRE -305, TOEFL- 102 V.O- You currently work at Bleep pharmaceuticals? ME- YES V.O- Are you coming back to work for the company when you finish your study? ME- No, I want to work for NEMA and NGOs in order to help victims of Disasters V.O- Who's sponsoring you? ME- My cousin V.O- let me see your bank statement( I gave it to her) V.O- Why is he sponsoring you? ME- He has always done that for me, even up to my university education. V.O- if this account is found to be fraudulent you will be banned from entering the United States for 10 years, blah blah. ME- I understand (kept nodding my head) V.O- This is a corporate account, Ughhh it stops at April, Ughhh okay I will do this (typed for a while), then she tells me to provide a bank statement that ends in May, gives me the pink and white paper, then tells me to DHL my passport along with the bank statement. I LEFT. Three days later I submitted my passport alongside the requested documents. Administrative processing since then. The visa has been issued. I gained and learned tremendously from this forum. Thank you all. God bless yous |
Good people Are there any cheap/affordable hotels close to the US embassy in Abuja? Names, location and prices will be appreciated if possible! |
I have observed something on this thread just like every social medium online, and this is the urge to argue. Especially because it is a faceless forum, the urge to hurl insults increases, a shameful tendency indeed. A lot of persons here who find it easy to subtly insult others and aggressively shut them down while neglecting the basic rules of faceless discussions which is to tackle the issue at hand objectively do not and cannot do the same thing if they were to see these persons in real life, and this is simply because it immediately becomes unnecessary and this person might either be bigger than you, older than you or you just find out they are not in your social bracket to have discussions with, talkless of throwing insultive and derogatory remarks at them. Ask yourself; do I talk this recklessly at work? with colleagues? Getting aggressive and bitter at every difference in opinions? For all nairalanders who comment regularly and are determined to help others with the best information possible, you must know this, the secret to effective communication is to be assertive, presenting proofs when need be and also letting others know when a particular statement is your opinion and not necessarily a rule or fact. And I know this is what most of you do but with one very important quality lacking in your conversations and this is the ability to ignore distractions. Noises and baits that comes regularly from those that will distract you from offering your advices to those that needs them really and urgently. In less than two lines you can detect one whose aim is just to argue and call for attention rather than tackling an issue that's important, and to those persons why can't you just ignore them? Do you think you can change the mind of a person who lives on the strengthening of his/her ego and attention gotten from arguments on a platform such as this? Even if you can, is this the right place for that? By all means just ignore, focus especially on the person who has asked a question and answer them to your best knowledge and then ignore the rest. Once it is not an objective question or a call for clarifications of what you have said , then ignore. This takes the power out of the tempter and his or her calls for attention. This is the cultivation of detachment, patience and non resistance. Be focused, identify the major reasons for this forum and once an argument derails from these, especially when it is useless and leads nowhere just stop. Don't be too much attached to your own opinions and then feel obliged to defend it anytime someone else attacks the opinion, your opinion is not you. Let him continue to struggle with the opinions, even if you are wrong no need to defend yourself, just watch as ego rules the lives of many. A lot are looking for people to fight, argue with and oppose, you don't have to nominate yourself for his or her cause. Those people are also easily recognisable either through their constant seeking for attention, talking without really offering a solution to the question at hand or the use of insultive words when passing information or opinions and this is done as soon as they find a target/victim of their egoic pursuits. Read my questions Consider my specific case Ask me for clarifications of certain points Answer me to the best of your knowledge Give me the supporting facts if required And the relevant opinions from your rich experience Answer further questions and clarifications of your points Ignore the pig! Ignore the pig! Learn to ignore the pig !! I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it. George Bernard Shaw |

fairheart:I have never even gotten admissions before talkless of opening the embassy site or whatever is related. This is absolutely my first time. I am confused. Does it mean my name or SEVIS id that I just got has been entered by someone else? |
Good morning everyone. Please I want to schedule for visa appointment and it keeps saying my information matches what they already have in the system with one email that I have never seen. What do I do? |
Cocao:I agree. I had intentions of applying to more schools. Bad advisors and all. |
calebify1:Yeah, you can! |
Hello Beautiful people,. After 1 year plus as a pharmacist and I have been trying to apply for admissions in the US for either master's degree or PhD I haven't gotten any. It is always close. GRE 305 TOEFL 102. I APPLIED TO KANSAS UNIVERSITY FOR PHD MOLECULAR BIOSCIENCE and just 2 weeks ago they replied me that I am on their waiting list and that they are waiting for some of those they gave admissions to reply back. They won't tell me how sure is it for me to get the admissions or even when. And so I have decided to come here for my answers. My questions are 1. How sure am I to get the admissions of the waitlist 2. When could that be? 3. Should I just face the other master's degree admissions because my agents after much pressure from me has started admissions in Arkansas Tech for emergency management. I am starting to think something is wrong somewhere, for close to two years with a PharmD and fair test scores I still can't get admission. |
Timotee:Thanks for the reply. Not that I want to waste funds as such, it's just that I have been processing admissions for over a year. Now that the masters admission looks certain for spring 2019, the phd admission is now also a possibility and I should prefer that but its fall 2019 and I can no longer wait that long. I doubt if I can cope with the boredom. But am told if I embrace the masters it would be difficult to change to the phd if eventually I want to when fall comes. That's where I am confused. I love phd but to wait another year ill rather start a masters program and then change if I feel like when the time comes |
Hello people, is it a very difficult task for me to change from masters degree to phd while in US. That is if I have both admissions while am in Nigeria this year but the masters degree resumes January 2019 while the phd resumes next fall, and then I decide to start with the masters degree but will change to the phd if I eventually make up my mind that it is a better path for me. How difficult is it for me to switch from the masters to the phd while in the US ? |
Humble11:Thanks. Okay |
angelajuni:Thanks, my admission is not out yet and am starting to get worried. I thought I could wait a bit. I'll put other plans into motion then. |
Pls HAVE US schools started sending out admissions letters for spring 2019. Can one still get admissions for 2019 spring by November? |
npmi:Pls are admission letters for spring 2019 coming out already from US schools. Or it's till November ? |
