It’s true that lp is not as accepted as this before Obi defection to it but that doesn’t rule out the fact that lp has its own followers before . Also Obi has little weight in PDP as a politician because if any political bigwig wants to defect ,many of his associates and followers will follow suit but we can see that nothing like that happened when Obi defected . Most of Obi followers are of Igbo extractions following a tribalistic agenda ,people that are not happy with Buhari maladministration or PDP history of wanton corruption ,people that wants to wrestle power from the older generation (forgetting that Obi is part of the older generation) and lastly people that follow bandwagon like sheep so my point is that it’s not really Obi effect ,the same thing would have happened if it’s Wike or Sanwo olu if they’re the candidate for lp ,at least we can see what Kwankwaso is doing in the north as well . But it’s a good thing that Nigeria now has an alternative from black and white.
