Greetings all.
I got searching and stumbled upon an ACURA MDX 2015. I like the looks and the likes, but I'd like to know if anyone has experience with it. Is it a decent car, maintenance-wise, driving-wise, fuel-wise etc.
I appreciate 🙏

That K24 engine was already in use since 2002 and review shown that it performance was great, though they were not the same, just with little variation due area of application.
If you want other suggestion, then you will need to state you features that you want in vehcle, so as to state other option. The pictures below is an Hyundai Santa Fe 2014 engine I repaired.
Rav 4 happens to be a good car if you have a good mechanic, I have a customer that I have managed his RAV4 for 3 years now and the only major thing apart from lube service was replacing the radiator.
If you want one I have a toks I appreciate boss. I presume the oil issue of the Hyundai Santa Fe is limited to 2014? Or does it carry into 2015 upwards? Regarding the Rav 4, What's your location, and how to reach you? |

Blackbishop: Greetings sir/ma
I will recommend Honda HR-V, Rav-4 2014. Within that bracket you can go for RX330 2008 Though you also consider parts availability and pocket friendly prices of those parts and most especially from most of my customers request resell values. Thanks sir Rav 4 was initially on my list, but i heard it was overpriced as are all toyota products (and i was planning to go for foreign used or grade A nigerian used--if there's anything like that). That's why i cancelled it off my list. I guess i will reconsider it again. But sir, compared to hyundai santa fe 2014, is the rav 4 2014 better? I thank you. (I am a male) |

osic: Is this (Hithium HeroEE 2) a better choice to the Ecoflow Delta 2 ?? Rated output is 1000W, compared to 1800W (with surge of 2700W) of Delta 2. It has the advantage of twice the battery power of Delta 2. However, D2 has fast charging of up to 1200watts on AC and 500W on solar (xt-60). Looks like HeroEE charging capacity is only 450W DC, not clear tho. So it all boils down to the devices you want to operate. If you're not running devices beyond 1000W, then perhaps it's a good buy. P.S. it's a new product, so it's true efficiency might be less than what's on paper. Buy at your own risk. |

is the canadian solar producing well? most of them are not real. its jus sticker. alaba is full of crooks It was a complete sham. panel couldn't have been more than 350W, but they slapped on a 550W Canadian Solar sticker to it. it was even polycrystalline. However, when my Jinko 555W arrived, the difference was very clear: in size, quality, output, etc. I combined both panels for better wattage, and I get the full 500W from around 11am till 4pm. |

Hydronium: I think people are unwilling to shift to solar (particularly power stations) because of the huge one-time cost incurred. They feel like if they buy a generator at 200k, and buy fuel with daily profits, they won't feel the dip in their purse. But in the long run (in less than a year), running a generator is far more expensive.
my estimation for using a (owned) 2.5kva generator (excluding monthly servicing, random frustrations, noise/smoke etc) for 3 hrs daily (which is not even enough to meet my need considering our nepa issues) is exactly 945k which was about the cost of the D2. Dropping that lump sum at once is a problem for many micro/small businesses. Now the price has even dropped below 700k. Meanwhile, the price of generators and the accompanying running cost has not dropped one bit. Isn't that interesting. P.S. Although I bought the D2 at almost 300k over (present price is 645k), I have no single regrets owning it. It has been a beast of a gadget. Thankfully, my landlord is also running inverter, so the harsh frustrating sound/smoke of generator is something that i can no longer relate with. P.P.S. Nobody should ask me anymore if the Ecoflow Delta 2 is worth buying. You have enough information on this thread to make that decision. If you don't believe it, go for what you believe in. |

D2 also charges fast, 0 to 100% in about 2 hours. So yes, my entire 3BDRM is connected to it. I pump water, I use the air fryer, etc. Freezer runs for at least 7 hours daily on solar. I don't miss my gen. I don't miss NEPA. What you have to do, do quick. |

And why would anyone in there right senses start loading up power station at 0%?
I am always at full charge before 11am most times
I load up appliances up to 500w or more,
As the power station is used, the sun continues to charge once it drops to a certain level,by the time I am done for peak period,
I have close to 90% available to use till the next day. Hmm nice. Why didn't you originally buy D2 max? |

Babatundehy: This was delivered few days back, the DURAVOLT 18inches AC/DC fan, having used cloud energy for about 6 months before the motor gave up, I have to say the highest speed of the cloud energy is almost the same with the least speed of this DURAVOLT, maybe this is as a result of their power consumption being different, 25watts/15 watts, and the cloud energy being 16inch. I'll update again after 6 months 😆 Secondly, so some solar padi I just made let me try my hands on a Cworth 12.5v 100ah lithium ion phosphate battery, oh well I wasn't surprised with the performance when connected to the Ecoflow to charge through the solar input port, the battery being 12volts, and Ecoflow pulling 8amps, it only charged at 100watts. I have a River2pro that can pull up to 220watts (dc charging )but not from a 12.5v battery. So, the advice goes thus, like I have said before, when you want to increase your back up time by buying a third party battery, make sure you're buying at least a 24v battery, the 12v won't cut it, charging at 100watts is like not charging at all, and the system would eventually auto shut off and you run the risk of damaging the inbuilt battery of the Ecoflow power station if you have a load as little as 80 watts connected while this extra battery is plugged in, not worth it, get at least the 24v. Now, I am looking at this brand making the news, colarsolar, saw a 24v 3.5kwh battery of this brand for 490k. Funny I was just bringing this here to ask you guys what you think of it...

Hydronium: Well said my friend.
I would also like to say that the level of deterioration in the mindset of the average Nigerian has gone beyond what can be managed by words. The general mindset is I can do whatever I want, even if it is wrong (after all, who will hold me responsible?). This is a result of a degenerate mindset, which has happened over time through looseness in education, enforcement of laws/regulations, as well as a culture of bribery and corruption fostered on by irresponsible governments.
That's why people do such things with such impunity. Many of them will outright insult you for suggesting the need for cleanliness. I have noticed this in waste disposal and other areas like driving, queueing, pissing in public places, maintenance of public property etc. Beyond this population however, there are many people who are ignorant of the negative impact of their deeds on the environment and society. There are others yet who know that what they are doing is wrong, but they have no avenue to do right, so they do the wrong anyway (against their conscience) e.g. holding refuse for miles, and finding out in the end that you still have no disposal bin to use.
Each of these groups must be catered for through correct education, re-education, exemplification, regulation, and enforcement of the given regulations. Alas, these cannot be done by the people who are in bondage to a depraved mindset. Only a RESPONSIBLE government can undertake proper education of its people. Those who have been educated before need to be correctly re-educated. Then laws/regulations will be created, which a proper enforcement agency will administer.
We are humans, and psychologically, depravity grows in the absence of discipline. Hence, the need for strong external stimuli to combat the growing depravity. The only other bodies that can bring proper regulation by demonstrating 'good example' to the public are religious places, particularly the Church. And this will require proper demonstration by their leaders.
So you see, it will take responsible leadership to model (through education, exemplification, and discipline) good standards to its people.
If you have read from 3rd world to 1st by Lee Kwan Yew, you will understand that good behaviour is essentially modelled from top to bottom in a nation. Empowerment without behavioural training will result in waste. You will have noticed this in our maintenance culture. And this will keep happening until we have a leadership that can 'train' its people to be responsible. Only then will the mannerlessness and wastefulness end.
Yes, the discipline will be resisted or protested initially, but in the end, it will be for the good of the Nation.
This is a topic that touches my heart, that's why I have responded extensively.
May God give us good leaders.

TwentySix: Guys, I set aside 450k for a new gen, but then I started considering noiseless, fuel-less power source. Solar Installers and Existing Users, is it possible to get an inverter with solar with that budget or slightly higher for basic home use? Even if it is just to power light and charging. Or can I have better and cost-effective suggestions? I just don't want to noise and buying fuel anymore. Your suggestions are all very appreciated. Thank you. Even if you can't afford Delta 2 atm, work hard towards River 2 Pro. Don't go for solar setup with separate components unless you have to heart to keep up with it. If you'd come a bit earlier, you'd have met their crazy promo which would have easily fit your budget. But it's still all good 👍🏿 |

BeforeJuly: I wholeheartedly believe in the power of indoctrination—when done right, it shapes habits that last a lifetime. Take, for example, the Keep Lagos Clean campaign launched by Governor Fashola in 2008. That initiative left such a deep impression on me that, to this day, I find it nearly impossible to litter. No matter how small the trash in my hand, I hold onto it until I find a bin—whether outside or at home. On rare occasions, I dispose of biodegradable waste like paper or edibles I snack on in gutters, but never plastic or anything non-degradable.
Now to the point of this rant: Why are Nigerians so frustratingly careless when it comes to waste disposal? It baffles me daily. I watch people wind down their car windows to fling entire plastic bottles onto the streets, gutters, and sidewalks without a second thought. Every time I step outside, I witness this behavior over and over again—so normalized that no one even bats an eye. It’s not just uneducated people doing this; even well-dressed, seemingly refined young men and women casually toss trash out of moving danfos, BRT's and private cars.
And then there’s the excuse I hear all the time: “Well, the government hasn’t provided enough public bins.” Fair enough, but how hard is it to hold onto a piece of trash for a few extra minutes until you find a bin? I’ve done this a million times—it’s inconvenient sometimes, sure, but it’s not impossible. It all boils down to discipline and respect for the environment you live in.
But here’s the thing—even those who do throw their trash in bins still somehow manage to do it wrong. Have you ever walked past a public dustbin and seen trash scattered all around it? Some people don’t even bother to push their waste inside; they just dump it near the bin, as if the ground around it is an extension of the bin itself. And when the bin gets full, what happens? They keep stacking garbage on top like it’s a balancing game, until the wind or rain scatters it everywhere again.
How many people actually think, "This bin is full, let me look for another one” or “Let me bring out a garbage bag to contain the overflow”? Almost nobody. Because as long as they can say, “Well, I threw my trash in the right place”, they feel no responsibility for the mess.
And that’s the deeper issue—too many Nigerians live with a bare minimum mentality. We only do the absolute least required to feel good about ourselves, never going an inch beyond that. We blame the government for everything, yet we refuse to make the smallest effort to improve our own surroundings.
Have you ever noticed how quickly Nigerians will transform their own personal space into something clean and presentable? Their houses, their cars, their offices—immaculate. But once they step outside, they suddenly lose all sense of responsibility. “It’s not my business,” “It’s not my property,” “Government should fix it.” Well this is one of the reasons why our streets are filthy, why our public spaces are decaying, and why, despite all the potential in this country, we still live in dysfunction.
The way we dispose of our waste is a direct reflection of who we are as individuals and, collectively, as a society. Compare Nigeria—where littering is second nature—to countries where people make a conscious effort to dispose of waste properly. The difference is stark. Nigeria is already difficult to live in; must we add filth to the misery? Imagine how much more bearable life here would be if our streets weren’t drowning in garbage.
If you’re guilty of careless littering, I urge you to make a conscious effort to change. Start by holding onto your trash until you find a bin. If a bin is full, don’t just dump your waste on top—find another bin or secure the trash properly. If you see overflowing garbage, take the initiative to add a bag or encourage others to dispose of their waste properly. These little things matter.
Once you practice this consistently, it becomes second nature. Small actions like this ripple into something bigger. Let’s do better. Abeg. Well said my friend. I would also like to say that the level of deterioration in the mindset of the average Nigerian has gone beyond what can be managed by words. The general mindset is I can do whatever I want, even if it is wrong (after all, who will hold me responsible?).
