I think people are unwilling to shift to solar (particularly power stations) because of the huge one-time cost incurred. They feel like if they buy a generator at 200k, and buy fuel with daily profits, they won't feel the dip in their purse. But in the long run (in less than a year), running a generator is far more expensive.

my estimation for using a (owned) 2.5kva generator (excluding monthly servicing, random frustrations, noise/smoke etc) for 3 hrs daily (which is not even enough to meet my need considering our nepa issues) is exactly 945k which was about the cost of the D2. Dropping that lump sum at once is a problem for many micro/small businesses.

What I noticed about the Delta 2 in the little test I did.

Well, while charging at the optimum (fast charge) which is the default setting, the fan came on, but I don't see the big deal out of it like how people made it look like...you go think say na generator noise the fan go make...it was really okay despite drawing 1k+ watts as you can see in the picture above.

Also, certain appliances like my fans, rated 80 watts actually consumed half of their rated wattage. 42 watts. The freezer rated 110 consumed 123. TV rated 60 watts consumed lesser in the 40s...Decoder no even register, i think 3. Router directly did not register, but with battery ups, between 10 - 18. Laptop rated 45 consumed 50.

My review: This is really okay for everyday usage and things...if you want to enjoy it really, add solar panel to use it during the day....

Then, for the End of Discussion, you can go for the extra battery...

This will really eliminate my petrol cost for the month at 54k, by God's grace.

I got me a better setup for 850k with a 1280wh lifepo4 battery, 1kva pure sine wave inverter and a 30amps mppt, with 3 200w panels.

Ecoflow D2 is 2.5KVA btw, with surge of over 2700W and real-time app functionality/automation. Beat that.

Hello guys I'm about buying ecoflow delta 2 from Jumia. My question is can it be connect directly to the house mains like an inverter such that it powers all gadgets at once.

I have minimal load of about 180 watts at a go , I don't want to plug the appliances directly to the unit.

I use the D2, and yes you can connect it to your house mains. Babatundehy already described how you can do this in a comment above. The D2 is an inverter and more.

Why not go for a Jinko solar panel that costs less? Just 125k...and the watts is 555, compared to 160 watts for 230k which may take you more than 6 hours plus to charge it up?

What you are buying is just brand. Don't pay mugun money.

Yeah, this is good. Make sure you're buying new with warranty. The EF panels are meant to be portable and have slightly higher efficiency. But the input is limited to < 160W, so it will take longer to charge your D2.

I bought a used 550W panel, so I'm getting only 270W from it, much to my chagrin.
Ensure that you buy a new original panel like the Jinko 555, you should get a minimum of 400W from it.

Even if you overpanel, the device will only take what power or current it needs. The problem is when you overshoot the voltage. Thus, whatever connection you're using (series or parallel), ensure that the total voltage is not more than your device requires. Delta 2 is 60v max, for instance, so ensure that your solar panels are supplying less than 60V, otherwise you fry your device.

I'm not sure, but I know Ecoflow has a presence in Nigeria, I've seen their ads on Facebook "Ecoflow Nigeria".
Also, it doesn't really matter if you buy from jumia, the 5 year warranty is all you need, far back 2018 i bought a Chinese TV I think the brand name was DJack, the board got burned because it was plugged in when a lightening strike got my house, all I had to do was call jumia and ask for return so it's fixed or replaced, my TV was sent to me fixed with a new remote after a few weeks.
Warranty is solid when you buy from Konga and jumia, and the products on jumia are sold by the "official Store store" either it is A retailer endorsed by Ecoflow or a representation of ECOFLOW in Nigeria, I'm not bothered about it at all as i have used my warranty on jumia and konga in the past.

I was able to register my product on the ecoflow app which connects to their cloud. So the 5 years warranty is very legit.

Fuel price is crazy and unrealistic. My area is on band k, so we have about 4hrs of light per day. Sometimes, none at all.
Since I got the Delta 2, no issues, and I still haven't maxed out the power yet. My average load during the daytime is around 350W which the Delta 2 is currently meeting. I don't miss my gen.

Either you have a skilled technician get the ends of your DC cable from the solar panel into a pair of MC4 connectors, now very few people can do that correctly, and you'll have to unplug your xt60 cable from your power station when it rains (protection) these are the issues.
The mc4 part of the cable gadgets world sent me was defective, broken and glued together, I just told the electrician to cut them off and connect them to the 63 Amp switch and then have the ends of the cable from the solar panels go into one of the terminals of the switch, pushing the lever sends solar power to the power station, this connection is done this way so the switch can break it when needed, no direct contact at all times like just connecting the wires without the switch.

The red markup is where the solar cables from the panels go into, the green mark up is where the ends of the Xt60 go into ( mc4 part cut off), pushing that lever up completes the circuit, sends power to the power station, the down part is empty. The socket beside it is fed from my 5kva voltage stabilizer, that's for AC charging.

I connected my own solar panel directly to the Delta 2 using the xt60 connector. Must I use a changeover to break the circuit? What emergencies are there? I hear you say something like unplug the xt60 when it rains, what's that for?

That's definitely not the reason your max solar input is that low, I even played with mine a little, I took out the car charging cable ( one with the xt60i connector) and then plugged it into my river 2 pro, I then took the wires coming from the solar panel and connected it to the terminals of the part thats supposed to go into the car's cigarette lighter port, it worked and I still got the same max input of 220 watts (after changing the DC mode from car charging to solar charging), I think the xt60i ,that extra pin, just tells the power station hey you could be connected to a car don't draw more than 100 watts.
Check what your panel is actually outputting using a multimeter, that's how to be sure you have a good panel.

You're probably right that its something to do with the panel. Incidentally the multimeter I have can only measure AC current. but the top voltage I've measured from the panel is 37V when the power output is 250W. So I calculated the current to be around 7A. I guess I'll be needing a new panel soon as my average load during the day is around 350W.

I only use my AC motor fan with the grid electricity, the very inefficient ox fan consumes over 75 watts at top speed, almost the same power draw with my refrigerator, makes a lot of noise, I figured I'd need to get something much more better.
The fan I use I got on JUMIA, you can find it in street stores too, CLOUD ENERGY AC/DC solar fan (non rechargeable), I got it for 40k, this fan is the answer, very little noise, can be remotely controlled and at top speed it consumes only 11 watts, it runs almost 24/7, and the motor housing never gets even warm, it is a super fan lol, it comes with a DC cable, and also an AC adapter.
Yeah you'll need an extension cable from the solar panel ( on the roof) to your apartment, where you connect its ends to that of the mc4 to xt60 cable, the MC4 to XT60 cable I got was sent defective, the MC4 female connector was broken, the solar guy who installed for me just cut the ends of the mc4 Part of the MC4 to xt60 cable off, and connected it to the extension cable coming from the solar panel with the use of a 63 amps change over switch, i didn't need the ends after all, the extension cable i got has a diameter (thickness) of 4mm ( double core 4mm flex), distance from my panel to the power station is about 10 metres, so i got 11 yards.

And here I was thinking my delta 2 is limiting current because I cut off the MC4 part of my xt60 cable... I'm still getting max of 270watts from the 550watts panel.

You measure both, multiply the values gotten and that gives the watts the panel is sending out (multimeter readings, amps * volts), if you get something like 400/450 during peak sun hours then your panel is fine.
I mentioned to toggle the setting to SOLAR CHARGING because that's how to tell the power station what the input is (car charging or solar panel), on river 2 pro there are three DC charging settings, AUTO, SOLAR, CAR.
You sure have something similar on the Delta, try playing with it on Auto and then solar, see if anything good happens.

Delta 2 doesn't have that setting. I'll do the measurements in the morning

Today's peak was 270W. I'm reading somewhere that it could be that my delta 2 is reading the xt60 as car charger and is restricting current. Do you think that's a possibility?

Today makes it 4 days after I bought it and guess what? All I can say is that Nigeria does not deserve that guy. I went for the 512Wh system that came with 180W Africell panel, charge controller, and a 1000W inverter.

I did my initial load test and discovered 300Wh out of 358.4Wh power consumption while assuming the 13.2V battery level was 70% of the battery full charge (around 14-14.6V). At the end I concluded on 84% efficiency from the system .

But trust me, I wasn’t satisfied with my first experiment. Coupled with my curiosity , I went ahead to conduct another testing on a full charge of the system with my laptop (45W) and a 15W bulb and then later on my laptop and a 10W Dc fan. This experiment, to my utmost surprise (I was just shouting Wow Wow and Wow 🤩) consumed a total load of 509Wh in 9hours! My laptop was literally running for a complete 9hours! I played games and did all the necessary things on my laptop and even left movies playing so as to not keep the laptop idle.

The shocking part was that I was still left with 12.6V battery level (Although I believed this won’t take too long for the system to go off at such battery Voltage) because I had to step out of the house after the 9hours.

Wow. Just Wow. The sad part of it is that many may not believe this kind of person to produce a great system like that, especially since he is a Nigerian. It all started with a search on google “Laptop power bank Nairaland”. I saw Elvistech initially, but I was reluctant when I saw inconsistencies in his battery capacities (Elvis tech in case you ever use Nairaland search for your name, take note of this pointer). Not until I stumbled upon a post on Nairaland where someone was advising some other guy to try the Josh guy. This post was created many years ago. This was where my research started. The most important reason I went ahead was the fact that this guy has been there even b4 the so-called popular Solar Generators or power stations came into the lime light. He was always here but not so many of us knew. He had a solution but we didn’t believe or rather ignored because it was not branded the American or Chinese way. I feel sad in some ways because this could have been the guy we’d all be discussing. But such is life, the environment is not where he is supposed to be.

The cons of the system is that the battery voltage once full tends to float and goes back to 13.5V and somehow difficult to tell if it’s fully charged or not, but he said it’s fully charged at that point. If only he could use percentage voltmeter or something that makes it easier to monitor the battery percentage. Then the issue of connecting the polarity when charging (which I later figured out anyways). Also the max I get from the Solar panel is around 80W +or-5w (the Solar panel is so low in efficiency)

Overall, I will score him 99/100, I believe he can still do better.

Mine doesn't have a DC mode but a smart generator auto mode. I've tinkered with the rest of the setting , I guess it's the panel. I'll just have to do something about it.

Chai, even now? What about one HR ago? My electrician checked mine with a multimeter yesterday at about 1:30pm and we got 265 watts (a 300 watts panel), even now I am getting like the maximum solar input power the river 2 pro can handle.

Oh boy. I don buy market. Have to dispose this panel. Max it reached was 251W. dangers of not going for new products. sigh.

Also, Nigerians are used to and more comfortable buying and setting up individual units of their system (battery, charge controller, solar panel etc). They feel that's the only way it'd work well; anything in a compact form is bound to fail, crack under load etc. It's like choosing to buy and couple the different part of an analog landline when someone is handing you a sleek S24 ultra...

I've been craving a power station since the beginning of this year. And been saving for it, through naira increase, inflation etc.
Even Jumia ran a promo earlier this year which I missed. But I'm glad to finally have it. It's doing a superb job. I have zero regrets.

Artisans fit kill person with promising to show up and failing, not to mention them having terrible skills and still going for the job 😂.

Please my 550W panel is averaging 250W under load. Have I not bought market bayii?

Similar experience here, i found 4 "electricians" and all 4 disappeared, two wouldn't answer my call, I was determined to do it today so I went back to the store where I bought the solar panel, asked the woman to find me a very good electrician.
A guy in his finals in FUTA (electrical electronics) came, he's been in the solar installation thing for a while, I told him I have the extension cable (4mm 10 meters) and the 1 meter MC4 to XT60 cable, this guy got the other things needed at the arakale store, 63amp changeover, 13amps plug, wires, trunk, clips, total was 13,000.
We left for my place at about 11am, this guy did a very good job, neat connections, I couldn't be more pleased, if you're interested, I could share his contact. My river 2 pro is finally connected to my mains the right way, I can still use my generator and power from the grid, and both to charge the river 2 pro. I am very confident in his skills, he's good, I paid him 20k, was happy to give him 1k extra for transportation back.

The electrician later joined me and they placed the PV panel and connected it. But when we plugged it to the Delta 2, it didn't charge. I'm wondering if it's because it was about 6pm already. So I'll try it again tomorrow when the sun's up. My mains has been sorted out as well, so my entire house is lit up for now. I've given out my gen so I used the existing changeover for the delta 2. Not entirely bad job here tho.

They're all crazy.
First one was calling crazy prices. Another gave excuses.
finally, One told me he could do it only to bring someone else to start doing the work. That one said he wanted to go buy extra cable and disappeared. The electrician himself disappeared too until this evening. Ive gone to buy the extra cables myself and trunking pipe. The electrician will work on the mains while I will do the rest, I mean, the delta 2 is plugnplay for that matter.

I got mine, the criminals at Gadgetworld sent me a cable with one of the mc4 connectors broken, they tried to glue it together, i called them and they admitted they glued it as it doesn't affect the functionality of the cable, that sounded very funny to me, it is why i never do these things if it's not konga or JUMIA, Nigerian business folks always find ways to be funny, customer's satisfaction is the last thing they consider.
Yeah, you'll use a 13amps plug like the AC plug that came with the unit, I brought a roadside technician to hook up my panel today qnf he was talking about cutting the cable I paid 24k for and joining it with the ends of the 4mm solar extension cable I got, instead of just getting two pairs of mc4 connectors and installing them on both ends of the extension cable, with his proposed connection stlye, what happens when it rains?

Mine looked intact but I'm yet to test it.
In the morning I'll find a technician. Incidentally I didn't buy extra MC4 connectors for the extension cable.
