Yes you should plaster it to keep the blocks strong for more durability. The only place you shouldn't plaster or close is the weep holes. Water will be seeping out through the holes, not through the block.

I am in the process of plastering my sock away pit and the engineer is saying I should plaster both sides, I used to think I only have to plaster the place where the waste is going to. Kindly note that 6 inches vibrated blocks were used to build it. Is this correct??

Locally welded doors are very good, they could be considerably cheaper than the imported types. Local doors could also be made to be specially tough, depending on what the user has in mind in terms of security. The only drawback with locally made doors is the lack of finishing quality, especially when placed side by side with imported iron doors.

I am currently at the paraphet stage of my property and the engineer has quoted 12mm 28pcs, 10mm 20pcs and 8mm 12pcs. Does this seem right for a paraphet, it doesn't seem right to me. I don't understand why he needs 3 kinds of rod for paraphet, when he only used 2 for chaining. Can someone help me understand it better?

When set with good standards, blocks can stay up for months or even years without putting pillars or lintels. Except there are other physical factors like animals leaning on the block walls or other heavy materials that can push it down. You can lay your blocks now and cast pillars later.

Top of the day to the elders and professionals in the house, I have a question about raising my building from DPC to lintel level now and I'd like to know if I can raise the walls now and cast the pillars in like 2 weeks from now, or the casting has to be done immediately so the walls don't fall. What's your take on this, I look forward to your responses.

Yes, they bought it without receipt, but does that make it a stolen item if the person selling it is related to the owner... Also, there was no theft reported on the property, and the seller is a known associate of the owner (brother) who is claiming the solar was stolen.

These are just different perspectives that might be considered in the court of law and you will probably spend more than the amount needed to reclaim your property from the buyers before the case is settled.

I'd advise that you settle this out of the court. Look for your brother! This is Nigeria, a lot of things don't work as they should.

The DPC is a building code requirement and is always included in building plans drawn by professionals, so, yes I recommend it, except where money is an issue and the land is firm and dry. I have seen people who didn't do a DPC and still lived in their houses without issues later on.

Oga, I paid 220K exactly to obtain community papers in Rivers state. The payment included some weird items like 'Widows empowerment' and 'family development' levies. I approved my building plan with 105K, But later they came to the site to demand for 50K for something they said I didn't pay for. They never stopped work because my papers were complete.

Kindly pay all the necessary fees, that's my advice. Those boys are extremely aggressive and they may extort you endlessly if you are not careful.

Boss where in PH did you build? I am currently going through the process of registering the papers and it’s something else. I already obtained the community papers 100k, now I am registering the plan in the local government council 80k and I am currently being told that I would register with greater port harcourt. This was probably put there by their Spy in your area but do not neglect .What you should do as a matter of fact right now is taking your building plan to their office and apply for a building permit without delay. What you see there is not a contravention letter if it was it will stipulate the penalty fine etc. But do not Neglect cos who ever put that there will go and call the boys from office and your case will escalate.
Make sure you obtain all Docs to facilitate the issuance of a building permit and obtain your permit number. Start on Monday without delay.
NB, Ask the person who drew the plan to take you to urban office in Benin. This was what I did in PH if not different group will start coming you will be paying 70k here 50k there,
