Everyday i ask why people are hating on Ahmed Musa, it's obvious if this guys name was something like Fola Emeka, he'll be on top of their list.
I challenge anyone to compare his club and national stats with others in the same position

Victor Moses on the Left wing and Ahmed Musa of the right wing with proper attacking midfielder will cause more problem

Musa has pace but with poor finishing. He got to change his style of play if he really wants to excel at the world cup because I see Keshi taking him there by all means and I don't know why. I don't hate Musa but we shouldn't accommodate an attacker that doesn't have good finishing in the world cup or we'll pay for it.

ajasa4link: I wish we have a replacement for mikel in that midfield.... the lack of competition for his position makes him feeel comfortable and untouchable.... keshi needs to do a shopping for good Nigerian midfielders... He has the skill to penetrate any defence and a superlative way of disturbing any defensive line and got accurate passes most of the time. Combining him with Victor Moses- Moses playing from the left while he plays from the right- will be a good combo that will fetch results through accurate passes to our strikers. Keshi should invite him, he is an asset we shouldn't miss.

IT IS OUR ONLY HOPE!!!...You should understand the calming effect Mikel has on a game...He is not primed for counter attacks...that is what Onazi/Joel Obi/Mba should be saddled with....STOP TURNING MIKEL INTO WHAT HE IS NOT!!!! HE IS NOT AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER.....Mikel has an excellent long - ball.

In defense, we all know our choices..but as people have highlighted, our achilles heel will be our defensive subs....

as far as i am concerned, Onazi and Mikel are untouchable in the mid-field...

It would not be a bad idea to have Yobo come in as a substitute to help us hold a lead in the world-cup. His experience would prove priceless in such situations.

It would absolutely be a waste calling Yobo back to the team. No doubt, he's an experienced player but over the years now Yobo has loosed form. He's very weak at the back. The coach shouldn't make the mistake of calling him back to the team. I remember vividly that he was formally Keshi's team mate. Keshi should remember that that guy ain't growing younger just like him.

Musa is good keh He's the worst attacker we got in our Super Eagles team. He wastes chances to score too much. You don't waste chances like that in the world cup because it would be rare. Keshi should do away with Musa. He should call Osaze and the Uche brothers back.

PurpleHouse: There's one thing Keshi always tell his Players before a high Profile match: "you are as good or even better than your opponents" Man to Man, skills to skills, pace to pace, Eagles are good! But i still believe that kind of teams we face at the Group stage will determine our fate on the long run!
Taking into consideration that we haven't even invited majority of our good legs yet e.g. Haruna, Nosa, Aluko, Joel Obi, Ogbuke, Onuoha (I see him changing his mind before the world cup), Otigba, etc... plus training together for a long time before the world cup proper, i see a Nice world cup for the Eagles, but we still need a favorable group stage, especially now that FIFA and the whoole world knows what we are capable of. The World is Watching. Eagles can't Afford to fail.

Champions should be ready to face tough opponents. I don't even see any minors in the world cup. Any team can cause an upset. We should be ready to face any team in the group stage because we might still meet those teams in the nockout stage. The FIFA World Cup ain't the AFCON where you have minors.

I don't think and believe that the opponents we face would determine whether we would go through the group stage or not. It all depends on the spirit the players and the coach is taking to the world cup. We're the African champions and we should be ready to face any opponents that come our way. We need to prove that we're truly the champions of Africa. Non of the teams that are going to qualify and play in the world cup are superior to Nigeria. We shouldn't make the kinda mistake the Ivorians made in the FIFA World Cup in 2010 where they under rated themselves against Portugal and Brazil and they paid for it. Champions should be ready for any challenge that abound. I believe our dear coach Stephen Keshi and the team's phycologist has been and would be counselling these boys not to look down on themselves and believe they can take down any opponents not minding their names and historic football stuffs they've done in the past.

I believe most of us here on Nairaland watched the friendly match between Nigeria and Italy yesterday's evening. It was a very hectic match which was somehow like a fight for bragging rights. The match ended up in a draw which I predicted it to be but I only failed the score line which I predicted to be 1-1. The game was a fabulous one which the commentator himself accorded a world class friendly. To the issue which made me to open this thread is about the players I think and that we think should be added to the team and should also be removed from the Super Eagles. I've had concerns about Musa since the AFCON. He's a good attacker who has pace and knows how to run with the ball whenever it warrants it. But he's very poor most times in his finishing. I've watched him a couple of times missing chances a professional attacker like him shouldn't miss most times. I don't know whether this is how he performs for his club but I've not been impressed with Musa since the beginning of the AFCON till date. I think the coach should do away with him. We need an attacker that can covert his moves and chances he created to goals. About the player which should be brought back, I would say Osaze should be brought back to the team. Though he has had problems with the Nigerian FA, the coach and Nigerians in the past, I think he should be called back. He got the kinda flair only few attackers like Emenike got in the team right now. As a Nigerian, I've forgiven Osaze for whatever outburst he might have made when he had problems with the NFF. I believe bringing Osaze back would boost our Super Eagles team alot. He adding to the likes of Victor Moses, Amoebi, Emenike... would definitely yield great positive results for us. It's over to you Nairalanders. Which player do you people want to be added to and removed from the Super Eagles team?

The men of the match yesterday were Amoebi and Onazi. For Italy, it was Ballotelli and Pirlo. Mikel played well at first but was later fatigued. Our team performed well in general. Thumbs up to the Super Eagles!

I give this match a B. I believe we can perform better if there's con amore (enthusiasm and zeal and love for the country on the part of the players).

See guys I gat something to say,there Is one player in the team that need to be show the exist door if only he will change his way,at this moment pride shouldn't come in,Ameobi,ambrose and Eyeama should for me be the ones doing the pride stuff and not Mikel,is he bcus he has won champions league n others,that doesn't count,Kanu won many and yet didn't play with pride,how about Pirlo or Xavi,this are complete midfielders,that when ever they are called,they Answer with honour and dignity to there country,and serve them well,we all saw what Pirlo did today,how he changed the game etc,Mikel doesn't seems like he wanna be in that squad,he romance the ball to much,and shading players like he is d strongest,(mean why,when he is in chelsea he doesn't do that,he play with the team and more offensive) after today match,Vincent Enyeama went to him,and give him world of advice!

Yes. You're right. I saw Eyeama at ending of the match talking to him seriously, probably giving him advice. I don't seem to understand Mikel. He plays with too much pride. He always slows the pace of the Super Eagles whenever he gets hold of the ball. I won't like him to be carried along to world cup if he continues to play that sluggish football for Nigeria which he never plays for club. I also got a problem with Musa. This guy isn't a good attacker. He's very bad in the finishing. He finishes his ball anyhow. I think the coach should do away with him. When compare what Amoebi did yesterday, then you'll certainly support what am saying. I even respected Onazi more than Mikel yesterday. He played with pace going forward and running backwards immediately we lose the ball. Our defenders need to be more confident with the ball and try not to lose the ball quickly and should also try to easily fall back quickly whenever we lose the ball. Keshi needs to work on our defence seriously and the tactics of the team generally and needs to do away with some players like Musa. We don't need such players win spoils chances and opportunities to score goals in the world cup. Congratulations to team. It was a well deserved draw. We can only improve from here.

I remember the case of Ghana when they won the Under 20 FIFA World Cup Egypt in 20... The coach (I can't remember his name) took prophetic advices from the Prophet T.B Joshua on what to do in each game they played. The prophet advised him against mistakes which he obeyed. He also gave the coach advice on the final when he told him not to use a particular player to play the penalty shootout. The coach regularly spoke on phone with T.B Joshua as they played any match and also prayed fervently. Prophet T.B Joshua is a true man and prophet of God. I want Stephen Keshi to meet Prophet T.B Joshua of the SCOAN if he truly wants to win the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. What do you think @NAIRALANDERS

Mine is a 1-1 draw. I'm seeing a very tough game here. Nigeria would try by all means to win as the African champions but I believe it would end up in a draw 1-1.

Nigeria can definitely win the world cup in Brazil. It all depends on the players and the coach. They got to be believe and ready to fight to the end. But I'll advice Keshi to meet with Prophet T.B Joshua if he really wants to win the world cup.

This is the worst music award I've ever known. Flavour's Ada Ada is a good video but ain't the best music video from Nigeria this year. Don't Tell Me Nonsense by D'banj is better. I don't know their criteria for winning the award but if it's by voting, Flavour wouldn't hate won much. Rubbish award! That's what I call it.
