ogakpatakpata: u are on point on this, My kid brother confrim same to me, and l have some friends who said the same thing.I know most contributors dont want nigerians to come to the middle east stranded, but at the same time, whoever wants to travel has to weigh the pros & cons, destiny & star are not the same, but that doesnt rule out the issue of proper preparation, inquiry,consultation and prayers before u venture into anything in life. The middle east is not for everyone, some people are destined/programmed to succeed in EUROPE, some are destined for ASIA, some are destined for AFRICA, some are destined for NORTH AMERICA. The question now is where are u destined for? l dont know and am sure many contributors here dont know either. Then it behoves on u the traveller to do extensive consultation/inquiry,prayers and seek enough information before u travel. Dont go by what people say, dont say because MR A,B,C or D succeeded in this country, because of that u want to go there, that may not be ur GOD ordained place to shine. God can bless u anywhere, Whoever wants to travel, should bear in mind that it is a venture that involves a lot of risk. l wont encourage nor discourage anybody from travelling abroad, but U that wants to travel, sit down and count the cost of what u want to engage in. There is practically economic melt down globally, no country is exempted, so my personal opinion and take is that, please if u choose to travel, allow GOD the master GUIDE to lead,guide,direct,ordain and show u the way. we are all HUMAN, we do not know it all BUT GOD SEES THE END OF A THING FROM THE BEGINING, SO PLEASE SEEK HIM FOR DIRECTION.

surecan: let me advice and to agree with dubai4eva,i am a practicing doctor in the Middle east country,his advice here is more than the truth but one thing with our people is that when they hear that name abroad,they don't do further investigation before going.As a Nigerian outside medical field,what type of job do you think that you will do in the middle east apart from dubai that you can do administrative work.Other places as a Nigerian you can only work in the construction companies which is better to drive okada in Nigeria than to do it here.Most people doing it here lives in a room of about 4 or more,what type of work do you want to do without arabic language and even if you want to learn it who will teach you,going to arabic school is very expensive and transport is nothing to talk about,my brothers here no be western world where you can see a cleaner collecting like 1200 euro which is about 230k naira,in my place of work,cleaners receive less than 50k with accommodation that look like where mad people are living in Nigeria,outside dubai,i dont encourage some body to go any other middle east countries say he want search for job because those guys no even get respect for you and your country.Indians,bangla,nepal,parki,afghan, are there to do it with small money.Now they work for 10 hours in a day,then if you get in the construction company,you may get up to 70 to 80k and you work not less than 10hrs every day only on friday that you may work like 7hours,and your job is outdoor,sun here no be that of sokoto,please google and see the temperature that you are going to face,you cant save any thing and people at home will use calculator to tell you that your salary may not be less than 5k dollars hoping that u can send to them at east 2k dollars every month and when you failed to do this,you become an enemy to all,no matter that i am a professional,it has not been easy because the life here is quite unbearable and i am living soon,my own case is far better bc i secure job bf coming,i did not pay for any thing,flight,accommodation,health insurance,flight ticket for my family etc,so i dont encourage any one to go unless you get an offer and look at the conditions if you like then you can accept it and the company will bear the whole cost.Please take this information important,never you neglet it because you will still come here to testify.I have traveled to some other countries and i can tell you that living abroad is longer as it is before.

dubai4eva: I av live in qatar for 3months I know a lot about qatar the Indians,Pakistanis,Bangladesh and Nepal are being used for cheap labour so they make the job pay rate low unless if u have GCC experience please my advise to people in the house is note that there are job in qatar but the pay is too low and discouraging imagine u being paid 40k per month it is only UAE that pay well but if u av been following this trend u see all my contribution pls I beg u guys don't be mislead if u come to UAE with tourist visa to look for job be ready to do menial job and u might end up spending before geting the menial job,I live alone I pay 1250 aed for one room self contain,I have assist a lot of stranded Nigerians who was mislead now dubai is very hot than Northern Nigeria you can't even hunt job now because of too much sun most jobs are direct employment and Gcc experience so no say them no advice u ouh!!!

If a cleaner can earn 1500dirham= 64k
A mere security at MR biggs 2000= 86k
All with an SSCE certificate,so ask urself how much do you think an individual working elsewhere will earn.
But with ssce attested, you can make up to dat amount.

ayenny02: Firstly,tbere are two type of 1mth visa one with extention and one without extention. Check the etihad contact website check their contact phone no 081********48, his name is mr andrew ask him anything before the process, he will guide you everything.
Secondly, the visa of 1mth with 1mth extention is 110$ and you will pay it to Eko bank nd you will scan your teller, ur internation passport and passpot photo with white backgroud to his mail and he will send you a form to fill and return it to him after the visa is out he will mail you to buy the ticket and release the visa to you.

Babechemist01: finally,finally. I got my study permit today in Abuja after 6weeks. I was denied visa initially cos dey said my yellow fever card was invalid. I actually got it frm d ministry of health in my state and my momentum health insurance was hand written. I got new ones both d yellow card and d momentun cert and reapplied thesame day. Glory be to God,i got my permit today.

HAH: My inquiry is on investment in Dubai, my friend have been to dubai severally on tourist visa but because of the uncertainties of Nigeria want to move to dubai with his wife and two children.

He want to commit like 10M naira to this and also thinking of buying into an existing business as a partner with like 7M naira the balance of 3M will be used for initial set up.

Kindly advice on the oppotunities that he can invest in and accomodation as well other necessary things needed for this endeavor.

Sharjah is fine like dubai, its just a single bridge that dimarcates dubai with sharjah...dubai is most popular because almost all the tourist attractions are in dubai e.g burj al arab,burj khalifa,dancing fountain etc so if the course is also in sharja, den don't settle for dubai except if money no be problem.*lol*

ayenny02: You can get a room of that amount but atleast 4-6 people in a room
Also if your visa is 1mth you can do another 1mth extention and after expire of that 1 mth, you must leave the country and coming again with another visa

justi4jesu: You cannot be in 9ja and get a cheap sharing accommodation, its when you get here then you can eventually see one. Or if you know someone dat already lives here then that would be preferably becos he can assist you in gettin it b4 ur arrival here. Rooms are cheaper in sharjah and Ajman except if you specifically want to reside in dubai.

IamJerry: Please o my people... I am going for a short course in Dubai starting from March 30th but I have this problem. The accommodation they have is too expensive; please how can I get an apartment or a room which cost less at least $200 or $150 per month?

Then, I wish to stay for 2 - months more sfter the course, how can I extend my visa there?

I am applying through Etihad airline...Please helping advice will be appreciated!!!

justi4jesu: The problem is that with an agent you will easily get an accommodation but I don't know how to solve d problem of more than 3 in a room, okay before I got this room they showed me a self contain for 1500dirham a month and no one was inside so if you can find somebody to rent an empty room togeda den dat would be fine.

justi4jesu: Yes 6people or more in a room depending on how greedy your agent is.

Me I got mine for 500dirham with 2 ladies in the room. Nice and condusive.
