This years event was full of colour, , fun loving people and the generous Governor in the person of Prof Ben Ayade is the one to whom we owe all this to.. #CarryOnGovernor..

As an indigene of Imo State in Nigeria ,, I can say without any sense of guilt that the government of Owelle Rochas Anayo has been flawed by several policies he tried to enact and inculcate into the psyche of peace loving people of Imo State .. His ascent to power was made easier by the ignoble actions of his predecessor Ikedi Ohakim (who is still facing charges from the EFCC) which climaxed at the scandal with the Catholic priest .. Rochas being a wise politician played to the gallery by proclaiming himself "The Peoples Governor" where he chanted "My People My People and they replied "My Governor My Governor" .. He won the polls in 2011 where he made a plethora of promises ,, most of which he is yet to commence .. We started wondering whether he was really that Governor ,, with rumours of his brother hijacking a lot of Government projects ,, non-payment of Contractors even when they have commenced work ,, non- payment of salaries ,, the gate construction on every street in Owerri that was a floop ,, the pseudo forth government tier ,, and so many issues that bedevilled his government .. He was able with APC might to purchase re-election In 2015 and things are even getting worse in the state .. Bad roads ,, infrastructural decay due to lack of maintenance ,, the new Imo project ,, non-payment of pension and so on .. People start to wonder whether that is the agenda the APC/Rochas has for the good people of Imo State ,, also whether he is being distracted by his alleged future political ambition .. I hope this gets to Rochas and he finds a way to be that Peoples Governor he made Us believe he was and stop making Ndi Imo suffer when we should be at the peak of the Igbo Nation and an example to the rest of Nigeria as Our fore-fathers like the great Alvan Ikoku and others would have wanted .. #Ndi Igbo Stand up.. #GodBlessNigeria.. #I_Love_GTBank.. Our democracy in Nigeria has daily been reduced by
the callous and preposterous acts of Our security
agencies which I unconditionally condemn ,, acting
under the whims and caprices of the Executive not
minding the implications to their integrity and PR ..
Just recently it was the Gestapo styled attack on the
judiciary that should supposedly be independent by
the DSS ,, citing corruption and inability of the NJC to
take disciplinary action on alleged corrupt Judged as
their reason for visiting odium on the proud name of
our great nation ..
Another news broke out with the brutal handling and
arrest of 14 Unilag students who happen to be
members of the SUG .. The police where said to have
been tipped off by the University's management as
the students gathered to discuss the way forward as
to their next line of action since the University failed
to show up in Court which inadvertently has the
implication of denying the rusticated SUG executives
the opportunity to have appealed to the Court to
grant them leave to take part in their Simesta exams
pending the determination of the matter ..
This is a serious breach as the students numerous
rights of the students have been breached to
mention a few ( Right to Association ,, Personal
Liberty ,, Dignity of Human Person ,, then the Tort of
Battery ,, False imprisonment etc )) can also be
raised .. Right now the way and manner the security
agencies interfere in common civil matters is
unacceptable and unpalatable ,, not even giving
recourse to due process or their Constitutionalism .. I
fear that if nothing is done to remedy this situation ,,
other Universities in Nigeria will also toe the line of
the Great Unilag which has shown lately that they are
no respecter of Human Rights ,, treating students put
in their care with impunity .. I pray same doesn't
happen in my dear institution #Unical and I pray the
Government intervenes by putting an end to this
unholy and unconstitutional interference or else they
slam the Police and get some large chunks from
Punitive damages ,, I refer Us to Barr Joe Etene V

Buhari read out a 50-point speech which highlighted the achievements and plans of the government for his people ,, (I doubt we included) he talked about Corruption ,, the IDP's ,, Our Military ,, Insurgency ,, Militancy ,, the Recession and some other shit ,, even talked about selling some government stake in the NLNG plant with a buy back clause and so on .. Still regular .. (Someone should check to be sure it wasn't plagiarised) .. Wow he now has 5 Media aides .. WTF ?? Wat is their work ?? Is he running a media agency or a government ?? 1. My friend came up with this idea as it seems I'm only politically motivated but that is far from it cause writing should be about portraying the reality I.e the true state of things in our society and environment ,, presently its obvious political issues take the front burner so please don't blame my motivation .. So back to the issue for discuss ,, U could say that bandwagon syndrome is that syndrome that makes we Nigerians copy everything we see on TV ,, hear on the radio and read over the Magazines .. It is that syndrome that makes Us forget our history ,, our culture ,, our morals ,, even our identity .. How many of Us have noticed that our local languages are going extinct and no one cares .. Our norms ,, cultures ,, values and practices are believed to be best preserved in our local languages as propounded by the Late Literary Iroko Isidore Okpewho but everyone now strives to speak the white collar language ,, detrimental isn't it ?? I wonder how the situation would be in 10-20 years time and ex Governor of Lagos Raji Fashola was busy trying to introduce Chinese into the Lagos Curriculum ,, it is a pity that we all lack morals cause if we did President Buhari would have resigned from office citing incapacity and we will see ourselves as the spoilers of our country and stop pointing fingers ,, cause even the purported change starts with Us cause we are the problems .. Gone are the days when we prided ourselves in Our rich Cultural heritage when our leaders travelled abroad and represented Us in our local attires ,, when our representative at Miss World wore ankara (local print) to the contest ,, when we where the true giants of Africa .. This is not the Nigeria a person like the great defiant King Jaja of Opobo fought for ,, the Ziks and the Awo's and co did not wish for a nation where we sell our very rich culture to copy the shameless cultureless lifestyle of the Americans and the Europeans .. Morals are guided and stimulated by cultural affiliations ,, when we shift our ways of life to copy that of the Whites ,, we tend to also adopt their morals which is inevitable and we start blaming and condemning people that are clueless as to what to copy ,, now we have a very large LGBT fan base here in Nigeria ,, not like there has not been traces of such in times past but our culture played a vital role in controlling that as it unconditionally condemned and detested such and so depressed it ,, but now they have been officially recognised in our Country ,, everyone has rights ,, don't they ?? All our traditional functions have been diluted and tainted with a lot of external practices ,, itz very difficult to find any of our cultural ceremonies or practices that has survived the influence of the west cause they tell Us we are barbaric and we believe ,, they tell Us our Traditions don't conform with the principles of Natural Justice ,, Equity and good conscience and we believe too ,, when they milk our economy dry and then it conforms right ,, they create wars and tension in any country that tries to develop and threaten their sovereignty over the world (See Biafra ,, Somali,, Sudan ,, Iran ,, Iraq ,, Vietnam ,, Libya etc) So I believe what Our government and any other one that is inteested in surviving needs to do is encourage the learning and speaking of our local languages cause that's the only way we can preserve and reinforce the remnant of Our culture and save Nigeria from total loss of Identity ,, I bet you that's what is going to happen .. We have been hearing a lot of talk from Ayo Fayose
Governor of Ekiti State about how bad the Buhari
govt is and how one-sided and stereotyped his anti-
corruption campaign has been as he has even tagged
It a witch-hunt .. Lately he has given a thorough
assessment of the Nigerian economic situation
saying that much of the blame goes to not the
policies per say as there are NON ,, but to the bad
image of Nigeria owing to the comments the
President has been making since his inauguration as
it is obvious no sane investor would invest in a
corruption ridden country ,, coupled with her security
challenges .. The implication of which is all foreign
companies withdrawing their investmentz ,, carrying
out of their transactions in Dollars which also affect
the value of the Naira ,, and other investors have
even refused coming to Nigeria as Nigerians have
been tagged "Corrupt" ,, the way to the solution
would have been the "Change Begins With Me"
programme just launched by the Presidency but
rumour has it that even the concept was plagiarised
,, so where do we start from in redeeming Our
Country and standing tall again as The Giants of
Africa ..

It is a pity how much my people have had to suffer for ever having the guts to defend themselves against the brutal assault and inhumane manslaughter visited upon them by the same people they called brothers ,, lived with and associated with as a family for the whole of 52 years after the unholy matrimony orchestrated by the Money Hungry British Government who didn't consider the very conspicuous and untenable differences between the South and North before the bloody amalgamation where-in they made the Northerners feel superior and even oriented them to feeling that leadership of the new country was their birthright ,, let me not go any further cause its really hurtful and shameful .. Anyone heard of #StanleyEnekwe the young and enigmatic Biafran soldier who was executed in Anambra State in April of 1972 by the Yakubu Gowon led government for allegedly stealing a car ,, which afterwards has been presumed to be a set up as the aftermath of the Nigerian Civil War/Genocide saw a series of vindictive judgements as the Nigerian government ceased every opportunity it had to punish those who fought on the Biafran side .. This can still be seen today in almost every sphere of our lives as Nigerians ,, the hate ,, the clamour for revenge ,, the disunity and division on both ethnic and religious lines ,, the fraud in our political outline .. I just pray it doesn't get worse .. Like Stanley Enekwe ,, a whole lot of persons have died in the process of defending their own ,, the people of the Land of the Rising Sun ,, a people inspired by Chukwu Abiama Okike ,, a people undeterred in their resolve .. Cross River State is a really blessed State ,, but is it a blessing or a curse when with all its abundance of Natural Resources it is still ranked 28th in Nigeria and not producing nothing but Civil Servants?? Cross River State was created In 1967 out of the defunct Eastern Region by Gen Yakubu Gowon in a bid to deplete the Biafra stronghold .. Coming to Cross River you would be greeted with the Efik language as it is widely spoken in Cross River State because it used to be a language of trade and commerce in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Other languages spoken are Ekoi, Etung, Boki , Ejagam and Becheve. When you seek natural adventure and want to be thrilled by Mother nature herself ,, Cross River is the place to be when you take an exhilarating view from the soaring plateaus of the mountain tops of Obanliku to the Rain forests of Afi, from the Waterfalls of Agbokim and Kwa to the spiralling ox- bow Calabar River which provides sights and images of the Tinapa Business Resort, Calabar Marina, Calabar Residency Museum and the Calabar Slave Park along its course, there is always a thrilling adventure awaiting the eco-tourist visiting Cross River State. So many wonder why he has been unable to utilise the great wealth of the State to empower his people ( imagine the state was utilising its potentials ,, creation of jobs ,, wealth ,, a better life for his people) he has made not less that a thousand appointments the highest in Nigeria ,, to pay them with ?? many start to wonder whether Education and Governance actually go together as we see in developed countries .. You come to Calabar and other cities in the state and you will be shocked to find only hotels scattered all over the cities with no major industries save for Unicem ,, Wllmar ,, Dangote etc .. Insecurity is the order of the day ,, kidnappings even in the University ,, robberies and cult rivaries .. Bad roads litter the State and when it rains ,, due to the landscape of the State ,, it is usually a mess with flooded roads and accidents .. The tourist destinations are left to rot and decay after so much public fund was invested into them ,, Tinapa ,, Obudu Cattle Ranch ,, Marina not to mention the abandoned Sea Port that could increase trade ,, instead he invested in an outrageously expensive monorail to take who and who to where ?? Even flagged of a super highway project all knew would be impossible (it is on hold now oooo) when he should be looking inwards .. Private business owners cry detest the high cost of sustaining a business in the state as many companies fold up just years after starting up due to high taxation as the Government having nothing but tax to fuel its IGR .. Its a pity such Is the situation of a state so particularly blessed by God ,, then people start to ask ,, Why study so much and claim to be an academia while you fail your people ,, when you can just be an SSCE holder and do better ,, even bring #Change ?? Other Presidents and Heads of State went with younger persons into the Congress so that they can be of assistance and give live update to their counterparts back home ,, see the old men Buhari (Buru) went in with ,, I even wonder what that Governor is there for .. Old men that should be in retirement ..

I think that is a move on the right direction and it shows that noyt everyone in the American govt is in support of the Islamization agenda of the Buhari-led govt .. So I hope the US Secretary of State treats that memo as urgent and acts in compliance as refusing to sell military equipment to Nigeria would only save we Southerners from being subjected to Northern Slavery in the name of Niger Delta Militancy eradication .. #GodSaveNigeria ..

Ethnic Biases aside ,, I think this is a great move cuz it is obvious Ogun state is becoming a Metropolitan city and the fastest way to do this is by encouraging migration which this appointment is likely to bring .. Even though I know my Igbo governors are not that smart ,, I only hope they toe in his footsteps ..

I think Nigerians needs to be educated on the effect of granting such emergency powers as the President has shown that he lacks policy directions so we can't tell what his real intention might be ,, also we should consider what turned out to be the effect of granting emergency powers to the the Adolf Hitler .. #History should not be repeated ..

The problem is our Legislature does no the extent of the power they possess ,, that is why the deputy senate president can write to the Un nd Eu when they possess all the power they need .. Why would the Ag Fed refuse honouring the invitation of the senate in the first place .. The senate have all the constitutional powers to summon anybody in the country to answer questions ,, even the president .. So I am sure some persons need to educate our quack nd illiterate legislators so that there can be true federalism ,, seperation of powers / check and balances ..
