Education › 5 Misconceptions About The Ogboni Fraternity Group In Nigeria by IamMichael(op): 8:30am On May 03, 2021 |
Due to the perceived secrecy in activities and modus operandi, there are a lot of misconceptions about the Ogboni fraternity group. Here are some of them - 1] There is the Refined Ogboni Fraternity and there is the Aboriginal Ogboni.Aboriginal Ogboni is the fraternity group mostly associated with the Yoruba's and is majorly made up of the highly placed with Yoruba descent. In ancient times, most are skilled craftsmen who use their craft for the good of their various communities. However, the Refined Ogboni Fraternity is a different group altogether formed in 1914 to promote Christian values. 2] The Activities of Ogboni Refined Fraternity are not Done in SecretAccording to a press release by Chief Francis Meshioye, the Leader of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity (ROF), the activities of the group are public knowledge as opposed to secrecy misconceptions attached to the group. According to him - "We are far from being a secret society; we are a registered entity that abides with the laws of the land and our objectives are to promote positive values, truth, justice and cultural heritage.”3] The Refromed Ogboni Fraternity Group Do Not Worship SatanThere is also the Misconception the group are devil worshippers. However, a perusal at the group, it's general make up, structures and wide ranging acceptance of all faith's into it's fold, shows that is not the case. The Refined Ogboni Fraternity group was indeed founded by a Christian to promote Christian values in the early 20th century. 4] No RitualsThis misconceptions comes mostly from misinterpretations between the Yoruba Ogboni and that of the Refined Ogboni Fraternity. But, no, the group definitely doesn't engage in ritualistic practices or money ritual sacrifices to make members rich. 5] The Refined Ogboni Fraternity is a Registered Association Under CAMARegistration under the Companies And Allied Matters Act also dispels further misconceptions about the group. Part of the registration process is full disclosure of activities, including organization structures and other things that should be public knowledge. https://uptownerd.com/2021/05/03/5-misconceptions-about-the-ogboni-fraternity-group-in-nigeria/

Can the God You Are Talking About Be Powerful Enough To Create A Stone He Cannot Lift? All this indoctrinated children fed with washed up religious ideologies as toddlers who can't decipher reality from fantasy. Now, as adults, they have still not grown up and realised that religion is man made and that the Religious Gods are mere mental constructs created from repetitive childish stories. An African man living in Nigeria thinks a religious god of a tribe in Asia is the saviour of mankind. And you wonder why your politicians and pastors rate you very low and see you as fools to be milked and humiliated as they please. Grow up! A simple fact finding mission deep within your mind and the internet this days should be enough to tell you how the religious texts you hold dear is written. Would your religious indoctrination allow you? Well, I don't know. But, this simple process has allowed a lot of people see the scam religion is. My understanding is despite realising that religion is a lie, fear of being ostracized keeps people bound. The only thing religion uses to keep it's adherents is fear. Fear of hell, fear of demons, fear of evil spirits, fear of their religious god, and bla bla bla. Just fear. You will know a different kind of peace the day you finally realise that religious gods, demons and witches are as real as Santa Claus. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Is The Universe 'god'? Or Is There A Creator Who Made The Universe? by IamMichael(op): 8:36pm On Mar 22, 2021 |
Theguided: It's very logical to believe there is a creator that created the universe and the creator by NECESSITY must be uncreated and the creator can't be the universe because the universe as we all know began to exist and we know that anything that begins to exist requires a cause When someone makes a claim that he is a prophet of God, (a messenger from the uncreated creator) that means he is bringing a message from God. That's a very big claim that you'll have to back up with clear convincing proof cos anyone can claim that and we'll need proof to be able to differentiate between the truth and falsehood. I believe God sent many prophets and messengers to mankind to tell us about himself. Adam, Noah, Lot, Abraham,David, Solomon, Isaac ,Job, Jesus, Muhammad (peace be upon all of them). All we can know about God ( the uncreated creator) would be what the prophets and messengers said about him. We can't just make up our SUBJECTIVE ideas of God cos that wouldn't make it the right belief about God. Anyone who is searching for truth should read the Bible and the Quran and pray SINCERELY to God for guidance. I lost access to this account for months now, but I'm back. Well, both Quran and Bible are man-made works. I have an unproved theory though that it is the same group of people that are pushing both dogmas. |
Christianity Etc › Is The Universe 'god'? Or Is There A Creator Who Made The Universe? by IamMichael(op): 8:11am On Jan 17, 2021 |
This is one of those questions that twists the mind and really gets you thinking long and hard when you really put your mind to it. Looking at the earth and the universe by extension, it's easy to imagine that the whole universe couldn't have dropped out of thin air. With the way and structure the whole universe is arranged, this line of thought becomes harder to do away with. At the end of it all, we are left with the simple question of trying to figure out if indeed there is something or someone out there who might have a clue as to how we got here. This raises the question of God or no God; Creator or No Creator! I will like to think that the question of a creator is one that we can possibly never answer except the said creator decides to show up and clarify things by Itself. It's easy for some people to take advantage of this gaping hole in the search for a creator to create groups and call it religious organizations as well as the euphoric frenzy the adherents gain from such fantasy. But, at the end of the day, the teachings of the religious groups exposes the ignorance of the proponents. This is because, you can't explain what is illogical! So, is the universe God? Though the most common belief among people of different races accross the world is that there is probably a creator of the universe, there is the argument that maybe, the Universe itself is God. This goes back to the First Cause argument. The First Cause argument in summary supposes that everything has a beginning and that there is a first cause for anything in the universe. With this proposition, the proponents of the First Cause argument also conclude that God is the Uncaused First Cause! Remember what i said earlier about the fact that you can't explain the illogical? This is one of those illogical arguments. What this 'First Cause' argument proponents always fail to understand is that if their First Cause theory or proposition is true like they said, then it leaves the question of "What caused God". The sole core or basis of the arguments by First Cause proponents is that everything is Caused by something to come into existence. So, what is the First Cause for the said God they preach? Did this God just spin out of thin air? Again, let's also assume that this God that Caused our Universe to exist has a creator, who created his creator? Or course, the First Cause will always continue infinitum because something does not just come out from thin air! Most proponents will easily tell you that God needs no explanation. But, that's a joke though as you already know! Why? Because the same argument for a God being a First Cause can also be said of the Universe itself. When you really look at it, What other God do you know that is not the Universe? The universe is everything, isn't it? It is likely the only God thing you can actually hold onto and acclaim the God status for, isn't it? The funny thing is, we practically know nothing about the universe itself, except what the universe itself has allowed us to know. https://uptownerd.com/2021/01/17/is-the-universe-god/ |

Christianity Etc › How To Start Your Own Religion Or Church In Nigeria by IamMichael(op): 5:19pm On Dec 08, 2020 |
Looking at the world today, it will be hard to imagine that most of the popular religions today once started out in a bedroom or under a tree. But, today, most of these religion's have millions of followers and worshipper's worldwide.
With huge population, the founders can sell merchandise, organise religious events as well as other religious related activities to promote their religion or church. The good news is that, you can form your own Religion today too, and enjoy the same affluence if you can be patient enough to nurture it and watch it grow as the chief shepherd. Yes, because that is what you will be, the Chief Shepherd.
Religion is a lucrative venture this days. Aside the influence it bestows on the founder, it also bestows affluence and high societal acceptance.
So, let's dive right into it. Are you ready to own your own religious outfit in Nigeria? Read on to see how you can get started.
The good thing about Nigeria today is that anyone can form their own religion. The constitution of the land guarantees it. Therefore, you have nothing to worry about, so long as you go about it the right legal way. Here are the steps you will take to start your own Religion in Nigeria today:
1) SCRIPTURE
Every religion must have a scripture. It is actually a legal requirement in most countries before you can create your religion organisation.
Therefore, to form your own Religion in Nigeria, you also need to have a scripture. This scripture will contain the doctrines of the new religion you are founding.
Luckily for you, there are repertoire of scriptures to mould yours from. To create your own scripture, write down quotes, passages, lines or wordings that best suits your religious views. Arrange them into readable fine layered formats for easy understanding. You can look at the bible as an example and add your own creative touch to your own scriptures to make them stand out or unique.
2) CREATE YOUR OWN RELIGIOUS RITUAL
Every Religion have a ritual they perform. The ritual is mostly performed among adherents and worshipper's. Christians celebrate Christmas, Easter, eat Communion and drink wine. Muslims celebrate Sallah, etc. Think of every popular religion out there today, they have something they do regularly to strengthen their religious faith.
You should have yours too. Think of the rituals you do daily without even recognizing it. You could even make a compulsory visitation of the less privileged orphanages around your area as your own religious ritual. Mind you, you must fulfil your religious obligation of visiting the orphanage and helping them in any way you can.
You get the point. Rastafarians for instance, smoke weed during congregations and keep dreads in reverence for their religion. London Assembly just gather on agreed days, listen to good music, play music and generally have fun before calling it a day. So, you get the point.
3) REMEMBER, THIS IS YOUR RELIGION.
Ultimately, what this means is that if you think that the world came out after a toothless dolphin gave a Tiger Shark a resounding slap inside the Pacific ocean, it automatically becomes cannon for your members.
So, make all your cannons worth it, and steer clear of controversial cannons.
4) OBJECT OF WORSHIP
You are just the founder, not the subject of worship. So, you have to figure out what your religious adherents will worship. Is it Love? Clothes? Fine hairstyles? Money? Water? A god? A demon? Satan? Traditional Pantheon God's?
So, whatever it is, you decide. But, you cannot be the object of worship or else no government will register your religious organisation.
5) YOU CAN ALSO BORROW FROM EXISTING RELIGIONS
Most religions play off of each other. For instance, Zeus, Amadioha and Sango all have similar attributes despite the worshipper's of this god's being from entirely different races.
Christianity and Islam are both offshoots of older religions. Christianity in particular has a lot of similarity with the Mithraic religion, and the Koran has its roots in Judaism.
So, borrowing of ideologies from existing religions is allowed.
6) YOU COULD CREATE OTHER BIG RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS
In Christianity for instance, Christmas and Easter is high on the list. There are others too. So, you can create yours and inculcate it into your own Religion.
After you are done with this phase, the next thing is to register your new Religion with the relevant authorities.
• To register your new church or Religion in Nigeria, you will have to do it under the Companies And Allied Matters Act, CAMA, 2020 under PART C.
• Part C of CAMA deals with the registration of non-profit organizations in Nigeria, of which religious organizations are one.
• Under this Part C, you have to register the new religious organisation under Incorporated Trustees. The minimum number of Trustees should be 1 person. But, for more up-to-date information on Incorporated Trustees registration under CAMA, 2020, you will need to consult CAC support or contact a Legal Practitioner to guide you.
Generally though, it follows a simple procedure of "Availability Of Name" search in the CAC website. This is to make sure that the name you want to use is not already in use.
• Once the registration is done, you now have a new religious organisation founded by you. The next thing is to attract members and grow!
See, it's not as hard as you thought it was.

luvmijeje: OP, you have a beautiful mind. This is the part that stuck me most.
A father and mother that gives birth to six children have created six different unique DNA's carrying everything about them but now embodied in a new cell, the child. This child is just an extension of the biological parents. The child is in fact not it's own unique formation, but the fusion of two different DNA's who agreed to experience life differently by contributing a part of themselves. So, every child is just the biological parents experiencing life differently without even knowing it. The child is the parents, and the parents are the child.
And it is part that explodes my thinking. Oh my gosh!
How are we sure that we can only procreate through sex? If we died, where does our genes go to? Can procreation happened after death? Can it explain why some people see some people after they have died? Thank you dear. I appreciate your kind words For the bolded, those are really deep questions honestly. What we don't know in this life is really huge... And the funny thing is, except humans find a way of living longer, most of them will not be answered. But, it still makes for Interesting research. |

ProfAmaben: There is no God. Religious people can kill for an idea they've never experienced.
A man's business was booming in 2008, we asked him how he made all these money in a short time, he said "God almighty has been blessing me and my family".
Fast forward 2020 covid-19, this same man lost everything, I mean everything. We asked him, nnam, what's happening, he said "God has plans for me, he is testing me like Job, I won't fail the test".
So you see, man would always give excuses and meaning to something he cannot explain. That meaning is God. That's the truth. At least the man didn't blame it on the devil/Satan. If you don't innovate, others will...in a competitive world like ours, that spells bad! |

If you are a religious person, this article is probably not for you. However, if you decide to continue reading, keep your feelings to yourself! I’m just saying my mind. If it it is offensive to you, well, you can at least drink a chilled water and calm down! You will be alright last last. It’s a common knowledge that truth hurts!
Over the years, after serious deep researches about religion at a foundational level, i realised that it is borne out of man’s thoughts of what they think a God should be, not what the actual creator of the universe (that is, if there is such person) actually is.
Let’s get one thing clear here though, none of all the popular religious books in the world stated anywhere in their scriptures that they have seen God. This is an important fact to note. Of course the reason is obvious, but I’m not saying it here. There may have been claims in some religious books of certain people hearing the voice of a God and seeing or hearing the voice of someone claiming to be some messenger sent by a God. But, like i said, they’re just claims, which anyone can wake up one morning and start propagating.
For a typical religious person, the central being of their worship usually represent all the things they cannot do or what their mind could not immediately come up with the answer for. God typically represents the one who controls all things and balances order in nature. This influences the constant need to appeal to the central being of worship in one way or another to help adherents alter nature for their sake. At the end of the day, the individual or worshipper ends up creating a certain concept of a God in their mind, and uses that as a basis for their religious beliefs, alongside some other religious dogma’s they must have grown up with.
It is with this personally built up concepts of God that makes religious people live their life around some religious principles. When things are going well, it must be the handwork of their God. When it goes bad for them, the insincere ones will blame it on something else. It’s funny though, when you look at it. I mean, if you are a religious person, have you bothered to think about the fact that you are just making a God up as you go?
When you read any religious book, no matter how well it is written, at the end of the day, it’s the same story of people giving interpretation of what they think a God is. Which is why you will see stories of the alleged Gods often exhibiting human emotions, and for some reason, human worship is always so important to the alleged Gods. For some reason, man is always needing saving in a universe full of zillions of stars.
For some reason in the eyes of the religious, man is a feeble creature, vulnerable and little. But, a God is an all powerful entity. Man knows so little of his world, but a God knows everything. Man is totally limited in seeing possiblities, but, God sees all things. Over centuries, man succeeded in turning Gods to everything that exist in their fantasy in an attempt to imagine a perfect being, the peak of all that is to exist and will ever exist.
However, at the end of the day, this same religious Gods picks sides. They’re needy, gets jealous, are petty, insecure, emotionally unintelligent as they all seem to love violence a lot. They also love gold, some love roasted meats, including that of human flesh. Some of them even mandate their worshippers to kill themselves on their behalf, promising some better life somewhere after death. Of course, if you don’t obey them, a beautiful place called ‘hell’ is waiting for you somewhere! And they love you too!
The question is, when will people start realising it is all in their head?
