Highly esteemed and appreciated Nairalanders, I'm back to fulfill my promise of sharing the documents I uploaded for my SP application. DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED NEW PORTAL - Letter of Acceptance "ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS" SECTION 1) LOE (6 pages; there were many zigzags to set straight. Las las it paid). Let me quickly add that all the argument on Nairaland about whether to write LOE or SOP is really trivial; it isn't worth it. What interests the VO isn't your title but the content. Some have argued that LOE is written if your visa had been refused and you want to reply. Therefore a first time applicant must write an SOP. I'm among those that argue that both are valid; you can use any as the subject of your letter to explain yourself and your intentions to the VO. I'm a FIRST TIME APPLICANT, and I boldly titled mine "LETTER OF EXPLANATION". I stated my purpose of studies therein as well as other things that could help the VO understand my general situation and every other confusing aspect of my application. 2) Academic documents (Certificates and transcripts - from WAEC to B.As.) 3) My Birth Certificate 4) My Cameroon Resident Card (still 5 yrs valid) 5) Bio-data and Stamped Pages of My Two Previous Passports 6) Police Clearance Certificate (Nigeria) 7) Police Clearance Certificate (Cameroon) Email from my Faculty Confirming Satisfaction of the Conditions of Admission (i.e request for original transcripts and degree certs)9) Email from Faculty Waiving Standardized French Language Test (based on my previous university studies in the language) 10) Official Tuition and Fees Schedule 11) Proof of Application for Accommodation (on-campus - even though this later didn't workout). 12) Enrollment Receipt of an Online Course I was doing at the time of application POF SECTION (SPONSOR: US-BASED MATERNAL UNCLE) 1) Sponsor's Bank Statements (6 months - Nov to April, application was submitted in May) 2) Reference Letter from Sponsor's Bank 3) Sponsor's Business Registration Certificate 4) Certificate of Formation (of the said business) 5)Valuation of Sponsor's other business 5) Reference/Sponsorship Letter (from sponsor) 6) Affidavit of Sponsorship (from sponsor - NOTARIZED) 7) My Maternal Family Tree (to show relationship) My uOttawa Student Statement of Account (I deposited some money in the school account, an amount large enough to cover the first year full tuition. uOttawa requires no tuition deposit. I took the extra step because I wanted to exploit every legitimate avenue to convince the VO and boost my chances).9) Student GIC program Confirmation Receipt (I purchased a GIC program with 10,999CAD to cement my POF). IF YOU MISSED MY TIMELINE WHEN I SHARED IT IN THE JUST CLOSED PART 21, BELOW IS THE SUMMARY: (FIRST TIME APPLICANT) - Application Submitted - MAY 11 - Biometrics - MAY 12 (Lagos), updated same day - Upfront medicals done - MAY 9 ( didn't submit the information sheet with the application) - Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after sending the information sheet via webforms and emails to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mid-June) - Eligibility Started same JUNE 22 - PPR and BVL - JULY 27 RECALL: No credit to me; GOD ALONE DID IT. To you PPR hopefuls, your own testimony is already here. It'll end in praises for all! |

Good day great Nairalanders, Am I the only one here going to University of Ottawa this Fall ? Who else, please? Still rooting and praying for all PPR hopefuls. It'll end in praise for all. |
Good evening dear all, Did my biometrics at VFS Lagos and planning to send my passport there tomorrow for visa stamping. Please how do I send it from Port Harcourt? Is DHL the best plug? In the consent form, who do I fill in as the agent/representative. DHL? How long roughly will it take to get it back? Time is of the essence. I do really appreciate your kind response. |
Thanks, Adeyinka. I applied through the NEW PORTAL. adeyinkaadetunj: |

Hey MotolaniBolaji, My application just got approved and I've shared my timeline. Exactly like your case, I'm also sponsored by maternal uncle in the US. I didn't include 2 & 8, 4, 5 & 6. Though at a point I got worried i should have included 6. I think 2 & 8 are okay as a proof of relationship. So go ahead and include them. I didn't have them that's why I didn't include them. But I sketched a maternal family tree (with passport sized photos) to show our relationship. In fact family tree was all included as proof of relationship. I don't have any pictures with him because we rarely see each other life. Regarding no. 8, I included both. Affidavit of sponsorship must be NOTARIZED there in the US. He didn't notarize the Letter of Sponsorship/Reference Letter; he only signed it. I included his 6 months Statement of account counting backwards from the month preceding my application month. Then ensure that his account is fat enough to take care of your stay in Canada and his family, if he has wife and children. In his Affidavit of sponsorship and Reference Letter, your uncle must indicate all his dependents (specifically wife and children). What helped my case also was that my uncle indicated his dependents, but made it clear that the wife was also a practicing physician there in the US and the children are attending school with no fees. So that means he's practically spending almost nothing on their education, which gave me an advantage. However, I'll advise you to pray and follow your instinct. Include everything your mind tells you can boost your chances. Please let everything you include be genuine and verifiable because IRCC can go any length to verify your documents. It'll end in praise! MotolaniBolaji: |
Sure, my dear. E don do am already; waiting for the day of revelation. Soon. Mercyfoundme05: |
Honorable Nairalanders, I have finally confirmed It's not a dream; it's real. It's PPR!!!! Got a email notification from IRCC around 9:30 am on June 27 to check my mail for a message. Without delay and with my inner eyes raised to, and fixed on, he who lives in the highest heavens, I logged in to my portal. I scrolled up slowly as I didn't want to rush it. I saw "You have 2 messages" on my dashboard, my shaky heart was strengthened a bit because, from what I have noticed from people's posts on Nairaland, PPR often comes with it's twin brother, BVL. Yet I continued scrolling up in slow motion; lo and behold, it was PPR and its twin brother. Then I glanced at the "Final decision" section and saw "Your application was approved...". Guys! Only heaven could say how large my heart dilated in joy. I needed to take the whole day to be sure I wasn't seeing a vision or having a daydream, and share with families and friends. Further below you'll find my timeline. But before that, it may interest you to know that my application is quite unusual. And since I joined Nairaland, I haven't seen any one similar. To give you an idea: 1) FIRST TIME APPLICANT (NEW PORTAL) 2) DID EVERYTHING MYSELF WITHOUT MUCH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE (submitted my application just about amonth after joining Nairaland) 3) 38 years old with very little or no secular work experience (there's a reason for that, though). Single, but not searching yet. lol! 4) Currently not working (though was doing an online course that is not even related to my prospective program - Master's in Philosophy) 5) As a logical follow-up of no.4, NO FINANCIAL/PERSONAL ASSETS declared ( there's a reason, though). Didn't submit any personal Bank statement; just my sponsor's. (People are refused visa on the basis of lack of financial/personal assets. But I got approval even without any; what God cannot do does not exist). 6) SPONSORED BY A MATERNAL UNCLE (Mum's immediate younger brother) living and working in the US as a medical doctor. (Third-party sponsored applications get up to 95 - 98% refusal; practically all approvals I've seen on Nairaland are either self-sponsored, spouse-sponsored, parent-sponsored). But I got approval; God too strong o. When he opens the door, no one can close it. As you can see, what we call "red flags" abound. Plus a plethora of other imperfections i noticed in my application after I had submitted, as I got more enlightened following people's inputs on Nairaland. In fact, when I read people's refusal reasons and the watertightness of approved applications, I felt there was no need to keep deceiving myself. I never gave up trusting in God, though. Tell me, then, why we can't call this a miracle from the Most High. TIMELINE - Application Submitted - MAY 11 - Biometrics - MAY 12 ( Lagos) - Upfront medicals done - MAY 9 ( didn't submit the information sheet with the application) - Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after sending the information sheet via webforms and emails to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mmid-June) - Eligibility Started same JUNE 22 - PPR and BVL - JULY 27 Total duration of my application is therefore 10 WEEKS and 2 DAYS. I'll come back to share the DOCUMENTS Submitted (They are not that much). Some unanswered questions on this thread will find responses with my case. If you no Sabi pray and trust in God, begin now de learn am. If you no believe sey miracle still dey happen, you don see am now. lol! KINDLY NOTE, HOWEVER: each person's case is unique. I tailored my LOE and I believe honesty pays. Know your case and present a tailor-made application. No complications. Going to UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA. Someone told me amusingly that uOttawa visa applications are never turned down. lol! (Don't take this seriously, please). Na only God fit do the magic! To be honest, I carry everyone here in my prayers. The Lord who did it for me will do it for each and everyone of you here trusting in Him. Rest assured of that. Thank you all for all your contributions on this thread. You'll surely smile soon, starting with the Fall session candidates because their case is more urgent. It'll surely end in praise! I hope this encourages someone. Thank you! Thank you!! And Thank you!!! |
Hey Lekiboboe, I sent a mail to Qlife a few days ago requesting for a personal copy of my test results and here's the reply I got from them in a couple of minutes: "Dear Sir, To get a copy of the report, kindly come to the facility with your Information Sheet and N2500 Best Regards" So they give the results, but with conditions. Personally, the obligation to "come [in person] to the facility" drives me up the wall, to say the least. What is worse, after I wrote them back to ask for other available options since I'm not based in, and stay 100s of kms from, Lagos, I got no further reply to date. I mean, this is crazy! I should pay 1000s of naira on transport/flight with the concomitant travel risks to go to Lagos just to collect a result that can be forwarded to me via email. I don't understand what my physical presence would change. This is really funny! They even charge money (₦2, 500) to collect the results of tests one paid for. I mean... Anyways, I'll call them to give them a piece of my mind if they insist... I booked for medical exams from a far distance (online), but I can't collect my results from a far distance. Meanwhile, those who are based in Lagos and did their Medicals at Qlife, please walk in to their facility with the information provided above and collect your results, if you want. It'll end in praise for all of us! Lekiboboe: |
Hey Gracehayford1, 57k is a banging sum for a Police Clearance Cert! Don't give it out, please. I see that somebody has already given you a number to contact for it in PH. You may also want to call this number 08064732698 (Mr Abalaba. I don't remember the full name). He helped with mine when I did it in March at 13k or 15k. He'll charge you like 20k, but you have to negotiate... I went to the PH SCIID and a police called him and he came and handled it. It took about 5 to 7 days. So you may try the two and make your choice. All the best. Gracehayford1: |
amila20042001:Thanks a lot. I'd sent it via webform a week ago. Please, do you know how to know the exact visa office to send webforms and mails (if need be)? I don't know which office will process my application. |
Filanodivine:Thanks for replying. Noted. |
Good day guys I'm new to this forum. And I'm glad to see how everyone is happy to contribute to others' success by sharing relevant information and ideas. I Submitted a study permit application on May 11, biometrics completed the next day. Used the New Portal. First time applicant. Have taken my "patience pill". lol! I have a worry which I'm confident you guys can help me out with your brilliant ideas. Reading through my study permit application summary, I just noticed something in the "Medical background question" section of the application form - the yes/no questions. The question I'm a bit confused about is this one below: "Have you had a medical exam performed by an IRCC authorized panel physician (doctor) within the last 12 months?" - My question is: Should someone who did an upfront medicals respond "YES" to this question? I responded "NO" to the question. Let me put the whole thing in context for you. My "NO" response to the question was true at the time I was filling the form because I hadn't done any Medicals at the time. Though I'd booked for an upfront medical for May 9, my application was ready to be submitted before that date (form completed, all documents uploaded). And I didn't want to wait for the medicals since I could still do it after submission. However, for like 5 days I hard issues with submitting the application due to transaction being declined when I tried paying the fees with different cards (Naira Mastercard, then a dollar Mastercard). While I struggled with the payment palaver, May 9 came and I went and did my medicals. On May 11, I succeeded with the transaction (through a friend's dollar debit card) and the application was submitted. Considering the day I did the upfront medical (May 9) and the day my application was submitted (May 11), I now feel that the correct response to the question, in my case, should be "YES". (This is if the question applies to upfront medicals did before submitting the visa application). - Now my worry is: If the question applies to upfront medicals did before submitting the application, is there any risk that the VO may wrongly understand it as an intentional lie and interpreted is as a "misrepresentation". In this case, would there be need to raise a webform now to explain what happened? Should I just not worry about it? NB: medical results are not yet updated in my portal. Thanks in advance for your kind responses. |

Email from my Faculty Confirming Satisfaction of the Conditions of Admission (i.e request for original transcripts and degree certs)
I think I agree with that uOttawa part and I still made an inside joke with my friend about it because everyone I know who applied using the school didn’t pay any deposit, didn’t have an idea of nairaland and didn’t put a lot of effort but they all got approved.
