Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by IamVenus(f): 10:43pm On Dec 16, 2022
Good Evening All. Please I have 2 questions and I’m really hoping you guys can help

1. My mum qualifies for IW as her visa expired in 2019, I’ve filled her form and paid visa fee but I need a date hopefully this December or early 2023, could I please get the IW telegram group link? I was in the group previously and it was instrumental in helping me with my date earlier this year.

2. I have a 1 yr old and would want to travel with him April 2023, so please is there a group for regular visa interviews? If yes, please I’m interested.

Thank you

Please do yourself a favor and flee from them. I’m currently using them and they’ve charged me soo exorbitantly. That’s not all. Now they are charging hidden daily charges, I’m trying to reach them to rectify it and they’ve refused to be reachable. They won’t reply emails sent 4 days ago, they won’t pick calls and also they’ve refused to reply WhatsApp messages. All of this so they can keep charging the daily storage fee.

I wish I had looked on nairaland before using them. Just search for Shoptomydoor or Shiptonaija (same company) and see what other people are saying. Please to be forewarned is to be forearmed

In Phyno voice, "dem no dey telli persin". Shoptomydoor/Shiptonaija is a no no shipping company to be avoided like a leper. Outrageous and hidden multiple charges, delivery delay, reckless handling of packages, missing items and clueless customer service. Everything promised is smartly cancelled in their contract terms. Read their terms carefully and you will realise you are shipping with them at your OWN RISK.

I’ve currently entered their one chance bus. Wish I saw this earlier.

Good evening, I'm sorry for digressing from your original dilemma. I'll like to know how well your 1.5kva inverter serves you. I'm planning on going that route soon.

Good Evening. I’ve been using it for 4 years now and it’s been great. I recently changed the batteries to Tubular batteries though (October 2021). The old batteries served me for almost 3 years.

No complaints whatsoever. It powers my fans, TVs , laptops, just the general lightweight household appliances. We generally have good power supply in our neighborhood (hence why I never owned a generator) but with this recent power issues, it lasted almost 48hours with no charging. We didn’t turn on the TVs though.

Buy 5KVA generator at minimum because you said you want to power all of those items you listed at the same time. You didn’t say if you 1.5 AC is inverter or if it’s non inverter AC. If it’s non inverter A.C buy a minimum of 6.5KVA generator.

Ok thanks. It’s a non inverter Ac. I’ll go for the 6.5kva as recommended.
Technology Market / Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by IamVenus(f): 1:23am On Mar 20, 2022
Gptech:

At least a 4.5 KVA generator should do the trick and make sure you get an original. As for your current generator, start with the biggest load which is the AC, and then the freezer, before turning the other appliances on one by one.

Ok thank you soo much. I will do that

How many KVA was the SUMEC generator you bought?
I think a 3.5kva generator can power the below items seamlessly, lets hear from the experts here.

Thank you soo much
I got the Sumec Firman SPG3000E2, it is 2.5KVA
Technology Market / Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by IamVenus(f): 10:24pm On Mar 19, 2022
Good Evening All,

I should have come here to ask before rushing off to buy my generator today

My inverter died last night (due to no PHCN power for 2 days). I had to go sleep in my car at about 3am when the inverter died. I woke up in the morning, rushed out and bought a Sumec Firman SPG3000e2 generator. It cost me N180,000. Due to my desperation, I didn’t ask them fundamental questions. Now I’m using it and it doesn’t power the most important things.

Please can you guys help advice me:
I need a generator that can power (at the same time)
1. My inverter 1.5kva
2. My fridge 200ltrs (I don’t know the watt etc)
3. My small deep freezer
4. 1.5 hp Ac ( if it can even power only 1 of my ac’s, I’m ok)

Thank you soo much. Please help. I can resell this one add money and buy the one recommended

I am a silent reader of this thread. I had my interview yesterday in Lagos. I work in Abuja but Lagos had an earlier date.

Everyone kept telling me Abuja would have been a better choice but I just wanted to get this over and done with.

The important things I learned from reading through all these threads were:

1: it’s not a do or die thing. Don’t seem desperate
2. Fill your form yourself and be completely honest
3. Make sure you can show ties to your home country and have a valid reason for your trip.

Once you get these three, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be given.

Honestly, as I was waiting my turn, I listened to those been interviewed ahead of me and I could tell the ones they wouldn’t give visas to. It was as clear as day.

Well my transcript :

VO: Good morning, pass your passport please
Me: Good morning ( with a formal (not nervous)smile on my face
VO: where are you going to
Me: Miamiiiii, Florida!!! (I actually said it in a laid back vacation tone)
VO: (smiles) you seem to be in a jolly mood this morning
Me: yes I am
VO: why miami?
Me: well cos my mum’s birthday is coming up and she’s turning 60. She’s a sucker for oceans and I’m planning a 7 night Bahamas cruise leaving from Miami. She absolutely going to love it
VO: who else is going
Me: it’s going to be my mum, my brother n his wife.
VO: do they have visas
Me: yes they all do. They are frequent travelers
VO: have you travelled out of the country before:
Me: yes I have. I’ve been to China, dubai ( multiple times), Zanzibar, Ghana and India
VO: why did you go to China
Me: I had just finished school and I went to see if I could start a business. So I went to survey. Got back after the survey and got a job, so I didn’t pursue that
VO: when was your last trip
Me: last year September, my mum was having a health scare so I took her to India to get evaluated.
VO: wow that’s nice, how’s she now
Me: she’s doing great
VO: she’ll really enjoy this trip then
VO: when were you called to bar
Me: 2009
VO: and you work at .......
Me: yes I work at...., we are into ..... and I’m the ........
VO: hmm sounds nice. How long have you been working there
Me: since after my youth service, so that’s 8 years
VO: do you do litigation
Me: nahhh, I don’t. Bores the socks out of me
Vo: *laughs*
VO: do you have children?
Me: nope! No children, hopefully soon cos im getting married in Decemberrrrrrr (flashing my engagement ring)
VO: wow that’s nice. Your mum could help you with bridal shopping in Miami. Congrats and enjoy your vacation ( gives me white paper)
Me: thank you. Have a lovely day.

She didn’t ask how much I earned, nor did she ask for any supporting documents ( I was a bit worried cos I didn’t even carry any) I went to the embassy with just my 3passports, GTB visa fee receipt, 1 passport photograph, ds160 submission confirmation and appointment confirmation print outs. Finish.

Side note : I’m female and not married so that’s why I didn’t just answer, no I don’t have kids. I made sure I let her know that I’m engaged to be married which will be in December. People say don’t talk much but there are some things that you need to let the VO know.

I also advice that before you ask any questions here, read all the threads from beginning to end. I read even the 2 closed threads and all my questions were pretty much answered.

Thank you all

Old English hotel,
Old tourist Garden ( I cant really remb the new name..Olivia something something)
or you can use Desire guest house; a creepy looking guest house at the junction of immigration office.

Thanks for your reply. I checked online but couldn't find a number to reach them on. However, I saw marble arch hotels and Golphins hotel. Please do you know if they are far away from the immigration command?
