common guyz,
if fayose's son purchase a Porsche, does it mean that he is using state funds?,what if he is working in a top firm?or you expect him to be riding okada, and if he does, you will be the 1 to make jest of him..do you know what buhari's sons and daughters are buying in private?or do u expect them to also be cattle rearers and cow owners?so because his father is a governor, he should be living poor? oya go and probe him now..
instead of some of you to be praying for a better change in your lives, you are doing badbelle

live and let live
Why don't you start by telling us the top firm where he works and how much he is paid?

Why do Nigerians continue to allow these criminals to ruin our collective lives. Our children are sick and hungry, our girlfriends and wives have become glamorised prostitutes, our male population are nothing but mostly poverty stricken powerless men who are not useful to the world. How long?
PoliticsRe: Fayose's Son Tomiwa Purchases A Porsche (photo) by ibedun: 3:56pm On Sep 12, 2015
Why are we Nigerian people so stupid and idiotic like this? The end result of this corruption on us as individuals and on our collective society in both sad and tragic.

What I am struggling to understand is why people are laughing off this horrible crime in their comments. This corruption has destroyed so many people and families up and down the country. Our collective resources are being spent and wasted instead of building our society and people, and protecting us all from poverty and harsh living.

So exactly what is funny about this thread? How many people in the West (USA, UK, Canada, France) can afford to drive these kind of cars? And what exactly does this little egotistic criminal do for a living other than being Fayose's son? How long are we going to sit back and watch these criminals ruin our lives and future and that of our children?

When will you have sense? What is going to happen now is that 90% of the new intakes will be northerners. Before OBJ came into power and diluted the sss, army, etc the unofficial language in all Theseus agencies was Hausa. Over the past 16 years from the time of obj till Gej the service has being diluted with southerners hence the top management has to be cleared out. New intakes will the be re Northernized so as to ensure for years to come the top, middle and junior cadre will be abokis.
I am a Yoruba man and a hardcore Buhari loyalist supporter however I cannot wave away your fears. It happened in the past and we must guard against the same thing happening now or in the future. But instead of us Southerners wailing about this issue why not exchange ideas on how to prevent the re-northernisation of the DSS.

your analysis is too skewed to your political lining. PMB is planing to effect gpod and sincere change but element like you will not t allow him see truth.
your naira at 200 to dollar does not support your economic realities but more of political expediency.
China recently devalue their currency ...when they are no 1 economy in the world.
currency devaluation has both positive and negatives.
however, its major advantage is to stimulate industrial growth and foreign investment.
please lets be honest to ourselves and stop misleading gullible and mostly ignorant Nigerians and the sincere PMB
You are just regurgitating textbook economics. There is a difference between theory and practice.

The truth if you care to know is that devaluation is positive only if you have something to sell and there are lots of international buyers queuing up to buy from you. That way devaluation reduces your international market price and makes your product competitive. You sell more and your domestic producers and economy will benefit. China as a major producer can afford to devalue its currency by 50% if it wishes.

On the other hand Nigeria produces nothing and earns 90% of its foreign exchange from oil (price is collapsing and other sources of suppliers are emerging, meaning less and less revenue for Nigeria). If we devalue our currency, our import dependent economy will collapse and our standard of living will collapse, we will start eating each other. Such would be the level of poverty.
Foreign investors will run a mile due to the unacceptable level of risk that will arise from the above situation. Devaluation may hasten the disintegration of the country (This would please Biafrans except that Biafra would be unviable).

Hope you get it.

Voodoo economist. Pls try harder.

I am in d UK on visit and for the first time since current democracy, Nigeria is rationing foreign exchange. In Feb, one could buy a Ferrari with a Naira debit card, once u have d cash in ur account. Today, every debit card is rationed to $300 a day. Many families can't pay school fees, and medical bills.

Very soon, we will start queueing for essential commodity cos importers don't have dollars. Just like it was before Buhari was kicked out last time.

Let's pray it doesn't get to that again.
Oni gbe se!!! So when the dollar runs out what would the government do? Resort to borrowing dollar at a crazy interest rates secured same against dwindling oil revenue? Are you aware that OYEL is selling below the bottom of the market?

Go home and tell your children you are an idiat.

I'll like to comment on portions of your submission that I disagree with

This is your reponse to the loss of 60,000 jobs. And this comment of yours is suggesting that all the 60000 lost jobs were actually direct/direct federal government construction jobs. I disagree.

these lost jobs is a result of lack of investment from investors (mostly private and foreign). And these investors are stalling because they are yet to understand this government's policy direction.

I disagree again with this point of yours.. The moment PMB was declared winner in March, did you notice that attention shifted from GEJ to PMB? Everybody was interested in PMB's plans not GEJ's plan. From that moment, GEJ's plans no matter how bright it might be became unsustainable/short term to investors while PMB's became a long term plan. Between that March to May 29, the economy was more or less on yellow waiting for PMB's green light. So in my humble opinion, I'll blame PMB for the slowdown in growth for second quarter.

This argument is also faulty... investors are interested in making profit from rendering services that in turn provide jobs for the citizenry and improving our economy. Asking if the investors gains in the past was shared with the country is very irrational. If the investors can't make profit, how do you expect them to invest in the critical areas of our economy? the 60000 jobs I spoke of earlier is a direct consequence of situations like this.
Investors! Investors!!! Investors!!!

Oga please who are these your investors? Can you identify 1 investor who is stalling waiting for government policy?

Are you by any chance referring to the friends and associate of Madam puff puff cheeks who has messed up the lives of unborn Nigerians.

It is that salient fact that makes them bankable. The jews, who are seen as shrewd and intelligent money managers only have a tenth of their population residing in Israel, their homeland. In fact, prior to the exodus back to their homeland in 1945-1949, it was even far less than that. The fact, that they have been able to make a successful business base, outside their home makes them more of a success than you. Hence the term LOCAL CHAMPION

hahahahahaha!

it is early for anyone to go about rainning abusive words!

like I said no one knows what the naira is worth but WE can Tell where it will go(whether good or bad)in relation to another currency I.e the dollar.

Nigeria has The Naira but cannot use it to PAY for GOODS/SERVICES in the foreign markets.it has to be Done In the DOLLAR CURRENCY.
So for Nigeria to do business(irrespective of who is in Nigeria).it must have DOLLAR EARNINGS AS CASH DEPOSITS.

if Nigeria does not have DOLLARS.it means it is on its own and cannot do business or it will Borrow Dollars to pay with interests.

OK let us now see where the problem is!
1,Nigeria has dollars mainly from oil
2,Nigeria buys its cars, clothes, petrol, generators and holidays with dollars
3,Nigerian govt collects its loan from abroad in dollars
4,Nigerian govt is spending money to build light, road, airport, blah, blah and the work is increasing

then boom
5,Nigeria dollars reduce by half, oil money fall
6,everybody looking at each other looking for to blame and do nothing
7,CBN start blocking anything block able, leaves dollars for oil imports but every other import --- go find your own dollars
8,money investor see what is happening ,they step to one side
Thanks. In that case the government has correctly acted by doing No. 7 and stopping No. 2 & 3.

How would I respond to No. 8?
I will "YAKA" at the speculators and offer swaps to the true partner-in-development investors.

The artificial pricing of the naira with no corresponding supply by the CBN is not in any way a measure of a good economy.

Take the stock market for example which has wiped off close to 3 trillion naira since may 29. That should give you a good indicator of where the economy is heading.
The Naira has found some stability after our policy makers have introduced speculator- unfriendly policies. If you say the Naira exchange rate is artificial, that logic suggests that the stock market depreciation is also artificial thus cancelling out the exchange loss. So no problem. By the way what do you attribute the stock market depreciation to?

Fork all them whiteman lists, rules and regulations for financial development.

They are what brought Africa to its knees financially. World Bank and IMF comes to mind here.

We need to block all holes through which those thieves who have been in power or close to those in power keep looting us.

We would develop without JP Morgan listing.

We need to break free of these American and European organisations trying to determine our growth and development.

Africa its time we have our own currency; one currency for the continent as suggested by the late Mummuar Ghadaffi.

An African currency would go higher than the Euro used by member countries of the Euro zone due to the huge amount of resources and the endless investment opportunities on the continent

So they expected us to fold our arms and watch the Naira fall same way the Zimbabwean dollar fell.

CBN please continue protecting our currency.

We may feel it hurts now but on the long run we would see the benefits.

China is a shining example. Today the U.S owes China thousands of dollars.
Brilliant!!! Not only that, you may recall that they tried to play the same trick on Russia (imagine, big Russia!!) telling it not to introduce capital controls as that will destroy the Russian economy. The Russians promptly introduced capital control and that has no only stemmed the slide of the Rouble but that currency has recovered and its waxing stronger. The Chinese even closed a massive SWAP deal with Russia and both will accept each other's currency for trade settlement.
