crestedaguiyi:No my brother, there are so many rigs that can go beyond that depth your talking about and through rock formations too, we have a lot of those machines around. But you use different rigs in different locations because of their peculiar nature. For instance, the types of rigs we use in sedimentary basin may vary slightly from the ones we use in a pure basement complex because of the formations obtainable in such environments. So, no matter the part of the country your talking about, from Nsukka to Kaura-Namoda, from Jos to Yenegoa, from Akure-Ankpa, we have rigs in Nigeria that can drill to the depth of fresh water aquifer in such locations. Thanks a lot my brother. |
kingboy:Thank you my brother, it is very much possible to get very clean water in that location, as a matter of fact the underground water is not contaminated at all. The only thing is that for the fact that rock formations could be encountered, that is why adequate geological and geophysical information of the project site should be obtained before engaging drillers so as not to run into any surprises. I therefore advice you to carryout a geophysical survey at that site if you can and thereafter call for quotations having known what is obtainable there. I may not be able to give you an estimate now because of some of these things I highlighted, but if you still insist on getting something anyway, just give a call. On the issue of borehole and a well, there is no comparison between the two, borehole is far more better because of some obvious reasons. Thanks a lot. |
kingboy:Thanks a lot for getting back to me. The depth of the fresh water aquifer varies a bit. It starts from about 90fts to about 120fts. However, there is the challenge of encountering some rock formations within that location in the course of drilling, I therefore advice you to carry out a geophysical survey so as not to run into problems with the drillers, because what some of them does is to abandon the site and disappear with the money you gave them once they hit rock formations. Thanking you in anticipation. |

kingboy:Thanks a lot my brother. I will like you to be specific about the location as it will help me to determine the depth of the fresh water aquifer as well as the formations. The reason is because there are variations in that location. Thanks in anticipation. |

rioemmanuel:The pleasure is mine. I really appreciate it when I am reminded that the little knowledge we share here actually help a lot of people in solving some of these problems. I encourage to concentrate on your studies, your studying one of the best courses in this world. Exploration and exploitation of natural resources is our major concern in this world. |

fanedrive:.I am so sorry for replying you a bit late, we have been working in rural area and unfortunately, there is no network coverage over there. The underground water in many locations around Akoka and its environs are challenging due many factors. Is difficult for me to advice on the exact depth. Kindly chat me up or call me on any of our phone numbers so that we can talk about it. Thanks in anticipation. |

@iykmon. Thanks for your questions. The pumps and every other part of the plant performs specific functions, each is different from the other, but they all compliment each other. The aspect of boasting water pressure in the house is very much possible and it doesn't cost much to achieve the desired water pressure that is required in the house. Kindly call me or chat me up so that we can discuss it at length, because I have few questions I will like to ask you myself in other to understand the challenges your facing there as well as advise you on the solution. Thanks a lot in appreciation. |
@nonyowen. Thanks a lot for your interest in our organisation, we sincerely appreciate it. The geophysical survey report advised us not to drill borehole at that particular site, according to the report, it will not yield the desired result. In answering the other part of your question which has to do with the city generally, with the exception of Enugu urban which has a lot of underground water challenges, almost all other parts does not have serious challenges, but there are one or two underground water challenges in few other areas, that is why we recommend underground water investigation before carrying out the drilling proper. Please, if this did not fully answer your question, you can call me on 08036745944, 08099405096,08084019485. BB PIN:7F7A69D7 or through our e-mail:olivewellnigeria@yahoo.com. Geophysical survey for a suitable ground water investigation at upper room area of emene, after adoration ground, shortly after caritas university. At jennam farm settlement, emene, nike, enugu state.

@bran1. Thanks a lot, it is necessary to install a water treatment plant in that location. The reason is because of the contamination of the underground water. The level of contamination could be so high in some cases. So, i advice that you install a water treatment plant in other to make that water safe for human usage. During the borehole drilling, care should be taken to locate the fresh water aquifer, use a proper screen and ensure that the hole is well cased. |
@bmdflo. Thanks a lot for your interest in our organization. We are really happy to have heard from you. I will answer the questions one after the other. 1. It is important to understand what geophysical survey is all about. Geophysical surveys happens to be the scientific method of determining the existence or otherwise of underground water. Geophysical surveys are generally used to "look into the ground" and find the detailed subsurface stratigraphy beneath the area. Geophysical surveys are used in ground water investigations taking into consideration the geology and hydrogeology of the location. So, in answering the first question, yes it is important to carry out a geophysical survey to ascertain the availability of underground water as well as the depth of fresh water aquifer. Please, endeavour to carry out a geophysical survey before embarking on that project, the presence of benue river notwithstanding, because the presence of a river channel is not an indication of a productive fresh water aquifer. 2. I sincerely advice you people to go for borehole drilling. There is a saying where I come from that "what is what doing is what doing well". The advantages of drilling a borehole cannot be overemphasize. There should be a stanchion as well as a reasonable storage tank. 3. Borehole is preferable, it doesn't have a blanket price, it is subject to the depth of the fresh water aquifer and few other factors. 4. It will be difficult to recommend pump for the well without knowing the depth of the well as well as the rate of rechargebility. 5. Again, it depends on the result of the geophysical survey. You can only have an idea of the cost implication when you know the depth of the fresh water aquifer. Thanks a lot, hope I have been of help to you, feel free to ask me anything if you still have any area you would want us clarify. |

@bran1. Thanks a lot. We just started a water treatment project behind romay garden estate today. I will prefer to go and see the site before actually quoting any particular amount for the project. Please, try and understand, we are in a very competitive market and certain factors have to be taken into consideration before quotation. But all I can assure you is that we are a professional organisation and as such do not compromise materials quality, we gaurantee all our completed projects, irrespective of project value or location. Please, feel free to call me on any of these numbers 08099405096,08084019485, 08036745944. Pin:7F7A69D7 |

@catalona. Thanks a lot my brother. I certainly remember our discussion on water treatment. I am looking forward to getting the water sample on friday as u said, but if it will give u stress bringing it to the point where I will come and collect it, just let me know so that, I can go and collect it myself, after all, is my job. Attached are some of the project pictures, but we just started one behind romay garden estate today. Hopefully, I will upload more later.

@DUNKA.Thanks a lot. What your technician recommended can work very well, but what you need to know is that the higher the capacity of the submersible, the faster it pumps water. So, I wouldn't know the exact water requirement there, but if you are sure that the depth of the borehole is up to 35fts and it was drilled to the rechargeble aquifer, I then recommend 1hp pump. But using a pump of higher capacity requires that there must be sufficient water in the borehole, if not the pump will just push out the available water in the borehole and after that, it will not have any other water to pump and that will automatically lead to the pump going bad. |
