@POLITICSNGR

A shocking footage of Soldiers currently battling Boko Haram in Northern Nigeria has emerged.

In the Footage, Nigerian Soldiers are seen battling to push a broken down armoured Truck. The video has elicited outrage from some Nigerians on social media.

PoliticsNGR has the footage. Watch Video https://politicsngr.com/shocking-video-nigerian-soldiers-pushing-faulty-armoured-truck-war-zone/

What is outrageous here?
Trucks do break down every time, no?

Or do you expect every unit to move with a tow truck? You know for when the military truck do inevitably breaks down.

Or do you expect them to leave the truck?

it's only an account of the growth in the number of commercial transactions in the economy. It's not a very good measure to understand development of a society. It is also highly value-neutral, which can be a bad thing. i actually dont subscribed to it. the commercial activity of china is 20 times bigger than that of qatar and United arab Emirates in combine. yet, this tiny nations(citizen's )are living larger than life.
Emmmm I already know that.

Kenya almost catching up with Angola. Why is Angola's GDP shrinking though?
Recession and it's not growing fast enough.

Yet to recover fully from the 2016 oil recession.
Still contracted in first half of 2018 again when oil price wobbled a bit. A true Petro economy.

Finish Uni first and after you've got you qualification then you can decide.
Most Nigerians prefer going through NDA. You'll make it to General then.

I knew someone who was studying mech. Engineering 300L, 2 years to go yet he left to join NDA (another 5 years).

BTW how does it work in SA? Do you have to go through your military academy to become a general/equivalent or you can attain that position if you graduated from civilian uni

It's an insult that Oil is taken from the Niger Delta & refined elsewhere.

The Niger Delta needs to get its act together.
The Gold refinery currently been built is not in kebbi where most of the golds are sourced from and I don't see anyone complaining.

why should Ghanaian companies be based in Nigeria
when theres should be free movement of goods and services in west africa ?

all Ghanaian Pharmaceutical products are ban or not allowed into Nigeria
all Ghanaian cables and lighting companies products have been banned
Beverage manufacturers
cement products from Ghanaian companies
flour from Ghana mills
Ghanaian electronic products
etc

we still dont complain because we know, the sub region is big
So you are saying no Ghanaian company is in Nigeria? grin

For those interested,
The FG's fears in refusing to sign the free trade is not unwarranted.

"NAN learnt, however, that the prohibited Ghanaian goods were actually manufactured in other countries and shipped to Ghana for re-packaging and export to Nigeria"

https://punchng.com/accept-goods-made-in-ghana-diplomat-pleads-with-nigerians/amp/

Nigeria despite it's shortcomings is still one of the most attractive and lucrative market on the continent, so such underhand practice by the Europeans/Americans or wherever the goods are coming from is not surprising.

And this is not the first time.

Benin Republic imports way more rice than it needs, guess where it gets smuggled to. Nigeria.

Same goes for cars, especially used ones.

I am all for signing the agreement because it would transform Africa as a whole but not at the detriment of Nigeria.

what if we generate electricity from solar energy (your country is sunny grin ) an the sell the extra to the gov through feeding it to the grid like in some western countries. It could be a game changer for some of ths folks.
True grin

But Nigeria's problem is not only generation, it's the whole value chain. Generation, transmission, distribution.

Installed capacity: more than 10,000mw

Average gen capacity: 3500-4000mw (we need to make sure all our plants are working at optimum capacity first)

Transmission capacity: about 5000mw (there was a time when generating companies (Gencos) manage to generate about 7000mw but 2000mw was stranded because it cannot be transmitted)

Distribution capacity: 6000mw plus.

So you see. It doesn't matter if we build 100 mega plants, the transmission company can't transmit to distribution companies (DisCos) and even if they manage to transmit all of it, discos can't distribute all of it.

Which is why government is more focused on overhauling existing plants and building more substations than building new plants.

And Nigeria's grid is too centralized. We need to break it up into more efficient mini grids.
