Romance / How Achraf Hakimi Hid His Money From His Wife by ibson99(m): 12:17pm On Apr 18, 2023
Achraf Hakimi recently made headlines when his marriage to 36-year-old actress, Hiba Abouk collapsed.

Trouble started when a 24-year-old woman filed a sexual assault complaint against the Paris Saint-Germain full-back. The incident allegedly happened while Hakimi’s wife and children were away on vacation in Dubai.

Hiba Abouk, wife of Achraf Hakimi has since filed for a divorce and moved out of their Paris apartment.

Spanish publication Marca reported that Hiba was asking for half of Hakimi‘s assets and fortune, but she was surprised when she learned that he has nothing in his name.

The beneficiary of Hakimi‘s salary and wealth is none other than his mother, who has been receiving his wages on her bank account for several years.

How did Hakimi hide his money?
Achraf Hakimi most likely setup a shell corporation to receive all his financial remunerations. The company has his mother as director and signatory to all company bank accounts.

Once his salary and bonuses of an estimated 1 million Euros monthly is paid to the shell corporation, he receives 20% in his personal account, with the remaining 80% protected under the shell corporation.

Hakimi is worth an estimated 20 million Euros, and his wife is asking for up to 8 million Euros as divorce settlement.

Hiba Abouk is herself a successful Spanish actress with a net-worth of 2 million Euros.

Crime / Why Efcc’s Prosecution Of Cyber Criminals Is Actually Counter Productive by ibson99(m): 2:26pm On Dec 13, 2021
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission under its new chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa has not arraigned any politically exposed persons and other Very Important Persons for money laundering and embezzlement of public funds instead, the commission has been vigorously chasing after cyber scammers and other petty criminals.

And people are beginning to notice, Punch in an editorial noted that the 40-year-old EFCC boss, 10 months into his tenure has barely made any mark. All of his big cases have been stalled.

The arraignment of a former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, failed to hold at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on November 22, following a letter from the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, calling for the review of the case.

Oduah, who currently represents Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, and eight others, were to be arraigned by the EFCC on alleged N5bn fraud.

Also, on October 16, a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, was interrogated over alleged non-remittance of N10bn pensions fund.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain reportedly turned himself in at the EFCC headquarters, after previously snubbing several invitations from the commission.

On October 24, the agency detained for a few days a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, in connection with the allegations against the former aviation minister, Stella Oduah.

On July 28, the EFCC quizzed and detained a former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Al-Makura and his wife, Mairo, for misappropriation of billions of naira while in office.

Three days later, it questioned a former president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, over alleged misappropriation of public funds and money laundering.

Similarly, a former governor of Edo State, Lucky Igbinedion, was on November 12 invited and quizzed for three days for allegedly diverting N1.6bn public funds.

None of these suspects have been arraigned in court.

Frustrated by these high profile defeats, the EFCC these days seems to be focusing its energy on petty criminals and online scammers. The commission would regularly post mugshots of suspected cyber criminals on its social media pages with regular updates on their prosecution.

But this can be counter productive! here’s the alternative argument.

These cyber criminals bring in badly needed dollars into the country. A nation of 200 million people that is barely productive need all the Forex it can get and from whatever source it is coming from.

Nigeria is not the only country that has had to calculate the alternative cost of turning a blind eye to the activities of criminals who bring in loot from abroad. Russia practically protects many of the people on the FBI’s cyber most wanted list allowing them to operate and live in Moscow for a fee.

The Americans and British themselves are not innocent. Britain has a law which allows the British government to confiscate and keep resources foreign government officials brought into the country. This law is what the British used to confiscate part of almost N2.4 billion that former governor James Ibori stashed in the UK.

Secondly, focusing on petty criminals instead of the actual criminals who are stealing the country’s resources distracts the EFCC. Some have argued that the commission has other motives other than altruism as its officials get to keep what ever the seize from these cyber criminals with no accountability.

The argument here is that yes cyber criminals are bad and should be stopped. But that shouldn’t be done at the expense of the bigger criminals who are doing way more damage to the average Nigerian. The EFCC needs to get its priorities straight!

Business / Akin Alabi: Brilliant Entrepreneur Or Predator? by ibson99(m): 12:03pm On Dec 13, 2021
Akin Alabi is the former CEO of Nairabet, and the first person to start a sports betting business through a website in Nigeria.

There is this article written about his achievements as the pioneer of sports betting business in Nigeria by Nairameterics – the article is generating debate amongst Nigerians online, some of whom hailed him as a brilliant entrepreneur who started a business that is ’empowering’ the youths, while others describe him as a predator whose business has destroyed countless lives. Make no mistake, for every success story you here as a testimony of someone making money from sports betting, there are at least 10 others whose lives has been wrecked by the platform.

Akin Alabi was born in 1977, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He had the opportunity of being educated in some of the most prestigious educational institutions in Nigeria and abroad. After completing his primary education at Command Children School, Ibadan, he proceeded to Federal Government College, Enugu for his secondary education. When he returned to the west, it was to obtain a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

Afterwards, he proceeded to the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, for a degree in Marketing. He obtained another degree in Intellectual Property Strategy from Harvard University, Boston, US.

Akin returned to Nigeria in 2003 after completing his studies to start different entrepreneurial ventures. He got his start in sports betting after he started selling educational materials on how to place a bet with UK based bookies. He quickly realized the opportunity in sports betting when a lot of people would contact him seeking for information on how to place a bet. In 2009, he registered the domain name and thus creating Nigeria’s first online bookie and the first Nigerian business that will receive cash deposits online.

Akin Alabi might have been the first Nigerian to bring sports betting into the country, but it would have happened eventually. The early 2000s saw the proliferation of the internet in Nigeria. By 2006, more and more Nigerians were getting online, websites like NaijaLoaded, Naijapals, Nairaland and LindaIkeji had become household names by 2008. Then there was the rise of internet fraudsters known as Yahoo Boys, by then more Nigerians are beginning to seek for ways of making money online.

In comes sports betting, unlike being a Yahoo Boy, betting was a technically legitimate and secure way of making money online, and most Yahoo Boys don’t usually get to live a peaceful life and die of old age. And unlike other ways of making money online like being a web developer or creating your own website, these require skills, knowledge and time before you can cash out, with sports betting you only need to place your bet and then go to the viewing center to cheer your team to win. Most Nigerians already love watching football, so the market was already there.

Since 2009, Nairabet and other betting platforms have created millionaires in Nigeria no doubts, but these guys have also wrecked way more lives through addiction. Here is the fact; no one who has had their lives wrecked by Akin Alabi and his brethren didn’t have it coming. Sports betting in Nigeria is poorly regulated, it is supposed to be for entertainment purposes only and not as a source of youth empowerment.

Akin Alabi cannot solely be blamed for the damage sports betting is doing to Nigerian youths through addiction. Poor regulation from the government is to blame for that. Akin has managed to pioneer a multi-million naira industry through foresight, risk taking and wits. The man has done well for himself and should be celebrated as a brilliant entrepreneur.

Akin stepped down as CEO of Nairabet in 2018, to venture into politics. He won the elections into the House of Representatives in March 2019 on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC). He represents the Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in Oyo State.

Business / How To Open A Nigerian Domiciliary Account With 0$ And Without The Two Referees by ibson99(m): 12:58pm On Oct 29, 2021
One of the main obstacles to opening a domiciliary account in Nigeria is the fact that you will be required to provide two people with current accounts that will stand as references for you.

This requirement has meant that several bloggers and freelancers who receive their payments in dollars and other foreign currencies now use their Naira accounts to receive such remittances. This means loss of much needed revenue for such online freelancers who dont earn much to begin with.

Here is how receiving foreign currency in your Naira account works, your bank will receive the funds in your name and pay the equivalent in Naira into your local account. sounds easy and straight forward right? until you realize how much money you will be losing this way.

Say for example you receive a remittance of $200 from AdSense, your bank will exchange that amount at the official CBN rate which as of the time of writing this article is 413/$. This means your bank will pay 82,600 into your Naira account. Compare that to the 560/$ you will get when you withdraw your money and exchange it at your local Bureau De Change, your $200 will amount to over 112,000 Naira, you just lost almost 30,000 Naira!

If that is not enough reason to convince you to open a domiciliary account then consider this, the bank buys your dollars at 413/$ and will sell same back to you if you need it at 480/$. If you want to pay for anything in dollars, you are also losing money not just when you receive it!

What is a domiciliary account?
A domiciliary account is an account domiciled with a Nigerian bank but that can receive and transact in major international currencies including the US dollar, British pounds and the Euro. It also allows you to withdraw physical cash in any of these currencies. And of course, you can also deposit if you have hard currencies.

How to open a UBA domiciliary account without references
United Bank for Africa, UBA bank is one of the few banks in Nigeria that allows customers to open a domiciliary account without the mandatory two referees required by the CBN.

The name of the account type is called the UBA Freedom Domiciliary account, this domiciliary savings account is built to receive foreign remittances, with no limits, directly into your account. You can continue to receive payments until you withdraw $2000 when you will be required to upgrade your account by providing some basic KYC document, two referees and a minimum balance of $100.

To open an account, go to any branch of UBA bank and request an account opening form. fill out your details as honestly as possible and you will be given your account number on the spot.

Features and requirements to open a UBA freedom domiciliary account.
Easy documentation requirements, you only need your BVN and one passport photograph to get started.
Zero balance account opening
Free access to check account balances via our Mobile App and the Internet banking platform
Receive foreign currency and Telex inflows directly into your account
You can withdraw your foreign currency at any UBA bank branch.

Frequently asked questions
Q: What is the minimum operating balance for FSDOM account?
A: The minimum operating balance for FSDOM account is zero (0) USD
Q: What is the minimum opening balance for Freedom Savings Domiciliary accounts?
A: The minimum opening balance for Freedom Savings Domiciliary account is Zero.
Q: What documentation is required for FSDOM?
A: The only documentation required for FSDOM is your BVN and one passport photo
Q: What documentation is required for FSDOM?
A: There is no maximum cumulative balance for the FSDOM. However, customers will upgrade their accounts as soon as they exceed a debit turnover limit of $2,000.
Q: Does the Account Allow Use of Debit and Credit Card?
A: No, please. The account does not allow the use of cards.
Q: What is the interest rate for this account type?
A: This is a zero interest paying account.
Q: Can customers carry out transfers on this account?
A: No, please. Customers can only access their cash through in-branch cash withdrawals.

Conclusion

The domiciliary account is important for bloggers, freelancers and anyone earning in dollars, up until now one of the major obstacles to opening one is the two referees requirement and the minimum $100 deposit to run it. but of this requirements has been stripped away buy UBA bank with their Freedom domiciliary account. With just your BVN and a passport photo you can open a dollar account that can be used to receive your AdSense payments and any other sort of international wire transfer.

Business / The Political Reason Why The Enaira Digital Currency Is Failing by ibson99(m): 10:33am On Oct 29, 2021
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari this week unveiled the eNaira, a Nigerian central bank issued digital currency that has been touted to woo the country’s tech savvy young population.

The president boasted that the digital currency would add $29 billion to the country’s economy in 10 years. But barely three days since it went live, everything that could possibly go wrong, has went wrong for the eNaira project.

First, the CBN which everyone thought were the sole owners and controllers of the project said it will not bear any liability for any interruption, loss of revenue or loss of services arising from the use of the eNaira website. It doesn’t make for a good first impression when a service provider tells you you’re on your own should anything go wrong.

The limitation of liability on the CBN’s website read, “In no event will the CBN or its directors, officers, employees, independent contractors, affiliates or agents, or any of its or their respective service providers, be liable to you or any third party for any use, interruption, delay or inability to use the eNaira website, lost revenues or profits, delays, interruption or loss of services, business or goodwill, loss or corruption of data, loss resulting from system or system service failure, malfunction or shutdown, failure to accurately transfer, read or transmit information, failure to update or provide correct information, system incompatibility or provision of incorrect compatibility information or breaches in system security, or for any consequential, incidental, indirect, exemplary, special or punitive damages, whether arising out of or in connection with the use of the eNaira website.”

Then on Wednesday, barely about 48 hours after the launch, and with about 100k downloads: most of them leaving angry and negative reviews, the eNaira wallet was removed from the Google Play Store.

A CBN spokesman explained what happened to reporters by saying “There is an upgrade going at the moment by Google; try in the next few hours.”

What exactly is the eNaira?

The eNaira is the digital version of the Naira, it is a central bank issued digital currency (CBDC). If this doesn’t make sense to you, that’s because the whole thing doesn’t make much sense and no one really understands what the eNaira is or what it is supposed to achieve.

See, the Naira is already a digital currency. Consider this, the money in your bank account, you can make payments with it through digital transfer without needing to pay for stuffs with physical cash. The use of POS payments, payments through the multiple digital wallets we already have, all of these have already made the Naira a digital currency!

One key difference the CBN is marketing about the eNaira is that the currency is not backed by physical cash, meaning if you have your money in eNaira you cannot withdraw cash from an ATM and if you’re transacting with a merchant that doesn’t take the eNaira or only takes cash, well..

This seems more like a disadvantage, because while the regular Naira can perform all the transactions of the eNaira, the eNaira doesn’t give you access to physical cash which is still very much in use in today’s Nigeria.

The CBN also says the eNaira is supposed have its own Blockchain: the technology that powers most crypto currencies.

Here is how the Blockchain works, when a transaction is carried out on a network like Bitcoin, several computers compete by solving complex mathematical equations. The winner wins the right to record the transaction in the hyperledger called the Blockchain and they get some predefined reward.

In the case of the eNaira, the CBN has said it will be the exclusive keeper of all records, meaning there are no computers competing against each other like they do to record most crypto currency transactions.

This means while users of cryptocurrencies are mostly anonymous, the CBN will know who exactly is buying the eNaira and how much they are buying: they’ll ask for your BVN, phone number, address and other details at the point of registration.

The eNaira is a failing project for a multitude of reasons, people dont know exactly what it is or what it is supposed to do exactly and the CBN has been very limited with the explanation it has given the public since the project began.

While the eNaira can pass as a digital currency, it is definitely not a cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies became very popular in Nigeria before the government banned it, a lot of would be users who erroneously thought of the eNaira as a digital currency will realize that it is not, and that would further compound the problems the currency is already facing.

Then there is the political reason, overwhelming majority of Nigerians hate their politicians.

A politician like Muhammadu Buhari earned his faith when his government announced a ban on cryptocurrency transactions in the country earlier this year. Most of the negative reviews that forced Google to remove the eNaira app from its Playstore is in some ways a payback for the government’s earlier actions.

To understand what the eNaira is, it is important to understand what it isn’t. It is not a crypto currency. It does not have any special features that the Naira does not already have. It is just another digital wallet that everyone already have one of those on their phones anyways.

Romance / Bill Gates' Marriage Crashed Because He Had An Affair With A Microsoft Employee by ibson99(m): 1:36pm On May 17, 2021
Billionaire Bill Gates' marriage is ending because he allegedly had an affair with a Microsoft employee — and the tryst was being probed by the company’s board last year when Gates stepped down, the Wall Street Journal reports on Sunday.

The company’s board became aware in 2019 that a Microsoft engineer penned a letter alleging that she and Gates had a sexual relationship over the years.

The woman demanded changes to her Microsoft job and also asked that Gates’ now-estranged wife Melinda read her letter — though it’s unclear if that happened.

Board members hired a law firm to conduct an investigation into the relationship, the Journal said.

During the probe, some members grew concerned about the allegation and decided that Gates, who founded the tech firm in 1975, should step down as director of the board.

But the billionaire was still re-elected to Microsoft’s board at the annual shareholder meeting, the report said. He resigned before the investigation could be completed, saying he wanted to focus on his philanthropy.

“Microsoft received a concern in the latter half of 2019 that Bill Gates sought to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee in the year 2000,” a Microsoft spokesman said.

A spokeswoman for Gates admitted that, “There was an affair almost 20 years ago which ended amicably.”

She denied that his decision to step down from the board was related to the affair, adding, “In fact, he had expressed an interest in spending more time on his philanthropy starting several years earlier.”

The Journal’s report comes after another on Sunday detailed how Gates “pursued” several women in his office long after he wed now-estranged wife Melinda in 1994.

The New York Times reported two instances where the tech mogul clumsily asked out women who worked for him at Microsoft and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

It’s unclear how much Melinda Gates knew about Bill’s behavior.

The two incidents and other more recent ones at times created an uncomfortable workplace environment, with Gates’ personal life becoming gossip fodder among employees, six current and former staffers told the newspaper.

The couple said they were ending their 27-year marriage earlier this month, saying “We no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.” In a divorce petition, Melinda said their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

She reportedly hired divorce attorneys in 2019, after her husband’s ties to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were made public, setting in motion the couple’s divorce announcement.

Bill Gates, a Harvard dropout co-founded Microsoft in 1975.
Forbes estimates Gates’s net worth at $128.3 billion, ranking him fourth on its list of the world’s wealthiest people.

Celebrities / Meet Wisekid, The Artist Making N30 Million A Month Cloning Wizkid’s Album by ibson99(m): 7:06pm On Apr 06, 2021
Wizkid is no doubt one of the most popular names in world music and getting a collaboration with him will be enough to catapult any struggling artist to instant fame.

Meet the upcoming artist that found a shortcut to benefit from the superstar’s global fame.

About six months ago, an upcoming artist identified as Nathaniel started creating social media profiles under the pseudonym @WiseKidAya.

He was deliberately infringing on the WizKid Ayo brand name, he did not stop there. He created a replica of Wizkid’s Made in Lagos album and uploaded it to music platforms and he started cashing out almost N30 million a month in streams and sales revenue being shared with him.

He called his own version of Made in Lagos, Lasgidi Made, and most streamers either didn’t notice the difference or clicked on his album in error.

As a result of Wizkid’s popularity, Wisekid was able to garner more than 9 million plays per month from 130k daily listeners.

Everything was going smoothly for him until he started bragging about his popularity on social media, that was when he caught people’s attention who described him as a scammer.

Wisekid’s account has since been deleted on Twitter, and his streaming accounts have also been deleted for copyright violation.

Most music lovers are beginning to ask how this was allowed to happen by streaming companies who allowed copyright materials on their platforms for months and even made payments without the necessary verifications.

One fan wrote: “I don’t even know what to say about this. You mean WizKid and his entire management had no idea of this? Not even his record label? I’m so angry right now.”

Another wrote: “The part that killed me is that he did not even try this with upcoming artistes or smaller artistes.. Wizkid Really Dfkm”

Politics / Members Of Apc Uk Stage Solidarity Protest For President Muhammadu Buhari by ibson99(m): 4:06pm On Apr 05, 2021
Some members of the ruling APC UK branch have staged a counter-protest in support of President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

There has been ongoing protest in front of Abuja House – the official residence of Nigerian presidents when they visit London.

The protests are being led and coordinated by politician and aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri.

Omokri’s involvement has led some of the president’s party loyalists to argue that the protests are politically motivated.

Protesters are asking that the President cut shut his vacation and return to Nigeria, they are also demanding the President to account for the country’s health budget.

Buhari has always visited London for medical reasons since he was first inaugurated as President on May 29, 2015.

On February 5, 2016, Buhari embarks on a six-day medical vacation to London for an undisclosed condition.

He spent 104 days in 2017 after a long medical visit in London.

Meanwhile, Nigerian doctors went on strike on April 1, to protest about delayed salaries among other vital issues.

The health practitioners are demanding, amongst other things, payment of all salaries arrears, review of the current hazard allowance to 50 percent of consolidated basic salaries of all health workers and payment of the outstanding COVID-19 inducement allowance especially in state-owned tertiary Institutions.

Madonna is 62 years old and on Friday, she posted an age-defying topless picture on Instagram.

The “Alessandro” singer has always been a sex symbol since her 1990s “Sex” days as she wore nothing but a collection of gold necklaces and pendants in the shot — including one emblazoned with the title of her 14th studio album, “Madame X.”

“Why do I have to Explain Everything……..,…….,” the queen of pop captioned the pic.

Madonna’s piercing blue eyes popped against her long blond locks that draped over her naked bosom.

She finished off the look with a subtle nude lip gloss and smoky eyes.

Several of Madonna’s famous friends took to her Instagram to praise the singer on her beauty.

“It’s just perfect,” one person commented.

“The more beautiful woman on earth,” added another.

Mavin CEO, Don Jazzy shocked fans when he revealed that he got married for the first time 18 years ago.

Don Jazzy disclosed this on Saturday on his Instagram page.

He revealed that he got married at the age of 20 and got divorced two years later due to his love for music.

“For so long everyone keeps asking me when am I getting married?” the popular music producer wrote.

Talking about his failed marriage for the first time, he wrote: ‘Well the truth is almost 18 years ago I was 20 and I got married to my best friend Michelle @yarnstaswitch and it was beautiful. I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is soooo beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then me being so young and full of dreams I went and bleeped it up cos I was giving all my time to my Music. Music became a priority instead of my family.’

He disclosed that he got divorced when he was 22-year-old and since then had stayed away from love and marriage because he was hurt.

“We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt. I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and Bleep it up again. So I’m taking my time. Why am I just saying this now?? I really like to keep my relationships private actually. Past or present.”

Reacting to the never before heard revelation, a fan asked Don Jazzy if the Nigerian Music Industry deserved such a sacrifice, to which he replied “Ahh it does o. I will like to think that I have been a blessing to millions of people directly cos my music is successful. Let’s just be thanking GOD sha.”

Celebrities / Tacha Defends Gov Wike’s N10 Million Gift To Burnaboy by ibson99(m): 5:37pm On Mar 28, 2021
Former housemate on Big Brother Naija, Tacha has defended the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike’s decision to gift Grammy winner, Burna Boy, with a N10M cash gift.

The governor gifted Burna Boy with the cash during an event to welcome him back home after winning at the Grammys on Saturday, March 28, 2021.

In a video shared via her Instagram page on Sunday, March 28, the reality TV star said BurnaBoy even deserved a public holiday in his honor for his achievement.

“You are mad, you are legit mad to think what Governor Wike did for Burna Boy yesterday was unnecessary. Y’all don’t know my state you all don’t freaking know my state. The nightlife is completely dead. For him to be like Burna come down lemme give you 10 million naira and you people are thinking that it is too much? You are crazy,” she said.

“Burna Boy should have the whole town he won a Grammy o, not some plastic award. He won a whole Grammy, that’s what Burna Boy won. He should even have a public holiday dedicated to him. Meanwhile, you are all here crying and lamenting. You are mad! You are all mad.”

Tacha’s video came barely 24 hours after Gov Wike announced in another viral video that he was gifting Burna Boy N10million alongside other musicians who performed at a homecoming party in Port Harcourt organized in his honor by Rivers State Governor.

Other reports also claimed the musician was also given a plot of land in the GRA of Port Harcourt to build for himself a home.

Gov Wike faced heavy criticism from those who argued giving an already wealthy artist N10 million amounted to a waste of government resources.

Religion / Pastor Chris Mocked For Claiming To Reach 5 Billion People Worldwide by ibson99(m): 11:42am On Mar 28, 2021
Founder of Loveworld Ministries a.k.a Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is being mocked by Twitter users after his church claimed his Global Day of Prayer event reached up to 5.3 billion people around the world.

The Global Day of Prayer event was advertised for believers to join Pastor Chris and billions around the world from 6:00 pm GMT +1, 1:00 pm EST Friday 26th to Saturday 27th March 2021.

It was streamed live on all the LoveWorld Networks and Web/Mobile platforms, LIVE TV, CEFLIX, and on major Satellite, terrestrial and local TV and Radio Stations around the world.

Believers were encouraged to participate through their preferred TV, Radio, mobile, or web application/ website/ social media site.

But during the event, viewers began seeing a banner that suggests that up to 5.3 billion people are watching the events live a figure that caused some to wonder if it was just a typo.

A tweep Ayo Sogunro questioned the 5 billion viewers number saying: ‘5 billion would mean literally everyone in the world old enough to listen was listening in every village, in every town, in every airport, in every shop, in every bank, in every govt office, in every school….wait, why am I even bothering to explain?

Another argued that even the FIFA World Cup does not have such viewership, sharing Google’s list of events with the highest viewership in the world.

Another argued that there aren’t even up to 5 billion internet users in the world, tweeting: ‘The number of internet users is around 4.6bn. The number of those with pay-TV is around 1.7bn. And many, many, many of these people have both. I’m really curious as to how this number was arrived at!’

Pastor Chris has always been controversial, in one of his Sunday services, the Pastor explained to his church members how much time they have before the end of the world.

Using a chart, he explained to his members he calculated when Jesus walked out of the temple as 30AD and when he was born within 4BC and 2BC, using those calculations he estimated when the rapture will happen.

Pastor Chris also claimed scientists are trying to vaccinate everyone in the world by 2030 by putting chips inside them.

“2030 is the goal set by GAVi and MIT, think about it…Even Satan is trying to understand the scripture and he is pushing people to act.” He adds.

Romance / Study Reveals Top Features Women Find Sexy In Bed by ibson99(m): 5:15pm On Feb 19, 2021
For men who have always wondered what women find sexy in their male partners, a recent study has found that well-treated beards and brown eyes are the biggest indicators of whether a man will make the perfect sexual partner.

The study conducted by OnBuy.com asked 4,550 women to list the physical attributes of men they have had the best sex with.

Top on the list of attractive features for women was facial hair with a whopping 73% of participants claiming that their best sex partner sported a heavily forested chin.

Beards are argued to make men look more mature, masculine, and dominant which seems to help when it comes to performing in the bedroom.

Next, the proof that women just love bad boys, men sporting piercings and tattoos came in at 70% and 62%, respectively. Also in the mix were the broad-shouldered at 68%.

Both tattoos and broad shoulders are said to make a man more masculine and signal potentially having higher testosterone which means a better sex drive.

Other features that made the list include, small feet – 53% of women say men with small feet perform better in bed and bald heads (40%, cant argue that Vin Diesel isn’t sexy) made the list too and make the top 15 physical attributes of men who are best in bed.

Foreign Affairs / American Prisoner Who Claim To Be Innocent Finally Released After 68 Yrs In Jail by ibson99(m): 5:25pm On Feb 15, 2021
America’s longest-serving juvenile prisoner who received a life sentence in 1953 has finally been freed after spending 68 years behind bars during which he refused to apply for parole because he says he never killed anyone.

83-year-old Joseph Ligon was only 15 when he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1953 for taking part in a string of robberies and assaults with a group of drunk teens in Philadelphia.

Two people died as a result of those crimes, though Ligon told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he didn’t kill anyone.

Ligon was freed from a Philadelphia Correctional Institution Phoenix in Montgomery County on Thursday.

‘That was no sad day for me,’ Ligon said.

Ligon was born in Alabama to a poor family. After moving to Philadelphia, he was enrolled in elementary school but he dropped out by the fourth grade and was illiterate.

When he was 15 years old, he was considered an outsider among his peers. Ligon believes he was scapegoated and made to take the fall for the crimes.

In prison, Ligon kept to himself. Most of the time, he worked as a janitor. He also learned to read and write.

In his spare time, Ligon also trained as a boxer and kept in good physical condition by enduring grueling workouts.

In the 1970s, hundreds of lifers in Pennsylvania were released as part of a clemency plan, but Ligon never applied to have his sentence commuted.

‘I’m just a stubborn type of person,’ Ligon said.

‘I was born that way.’

Bradley Bridge, a public defender who has represented Ligon as his attorney since 2006 said his client’s case is an illustration of the excesses of the criminal justice system.

‘We waste people’s lives by over-incarcerating and we waste money by over-incarcerating,’ he said.

‘His case graphically demonstrates the absurdity of wasting each.’

Bridge added: ‘Hopefully his release and the release of the juvenile lifers, in general, will cause a re-evaluation of the way we incarcerate people.’

Nairaland / General / Man Cuts Off Own Nose, Slices Lips To Turn Himself Into ‘black Alien’ by ibson99(m): 5:06pm On Jan 25, 2021
A man obsessed with body modifications has had his nose removed, and his top lips sliced in his latest attempt to look like a ‘black alien’.

Anthony Loffredo is a freak from France, who has already split his tongue and covered his entire body – including his eyeballs – in tattoos as a part of his @the_black_alien_project on Instagram.

The 32-year-old Frenchman had his nose removed in Spain as it is illegal in his native country.

Speaking about his latest face change he did not say when he had the work done, where or by who, but did say he now struggles to speak after the lip removal operation.

During a live question and answer session on Instagram Anthony said he dreams of removing his skin and replacing it with metal.

Despite his terrifying look, Anthony claims he has no problems attracting women.

In 2017 he told the French newspaper Midi Libre: “From a very young age, I have been passionate about mutations and transformations of the human body.

“I had a click when I was a security guard.

“I realized that I was not living my life the way I wanted. I stopped everything at 24 and left for Australia.

“It has become normal, even unconscious, to constantly think about my plans for the next few months

He added: “I love getting into the shoes of a scary character.

“I often settle down somewhere and play a role, especially at night in the dark streets, he has fun.

“I explore the contrast between the role I play and myself.”

Politics / Aisha Yesufu Defends Homosexuality. Says You Dont Need Anyone Liking Your Choice by ibson99(m): 4:56pm On Jan 11, 2021
Activist Aisha Yesufu has defended same-sex marriages in Nigeria saying ‘All you need is being given the right to practice your sexuality.’

Yesufu shared her position on same-sex marriage in a series of tweets on Twitter. In one tweet she claimed, “Homosexuality was freely practiced in Nigeria for hundreds of years and I witnessed same-sex marriages in the 80s.”
Homosexuality is a crime punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment under the 1999 Nigerian Constitution.

Not just in Nigeria, across Africa, homosexuality is illegal in most parts of the continent, and gay people face life imprisonment or the death penalty. Some religious groups brand it a corrupting western import.

The Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act, which banned gay relationships and entrenched intolerance of sexual minorities in Nigerian society, was signed by Goodluck Jonathan, then president, in January 2014.

The law caused an international outcry, with condemnation from global human rights organization and western governments. Human Rights Watch called it a “sweeping and dangerous piece of legislation”.

But Aisha Yesufu seems to have stirred a taboo subject amongst Nigerians. “Link me up with your son, I can see he has a fat butt,” a Twitter user mischievously ask.

“He is an adult, like you and you don’t have to hide behind mother’s wrappers,” the mother of two replied.

When another user wrote “God Himself destroyed a whole generation because of this. Sit this one out Mrs Yesufu.”

Yesufu replied, “Madam Kulu, God also gave people right to their choices and they will face consequences for their choices and there are messages God gave to believing men and women and also to mankind.”

Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian socio-political activist who rose to prominence in 2014 when she co-convened the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, an advocacy group that brings attention to the abduction of over 200 girls, from a secondary school in Chibok, Nigeria, on 14 April 2014, by the terrorist group Boko Haram.

Religion / Pastor Quits Church To Become A Stripper, Says She’s Never Been Happier by ibson99(m): 3:41pm On Dec 31, 2020
When Nikole Mitchell left her pastor life behind to pursue her dreams of becoming a stripper, it was a bizarre story that captivated many people on the internet.

Nikole grew up in a strict Baptist family, where she was expected to be quiet, reserved and sweet. But her dreams weren’t quite so conservative.

The mother of three who now works as an erotic dancer on OnlyFans told The Post “From a young age, I had fantasized about being a stripper, but I was indoctrinated to believe my desires and my body were innately sinful and bad.”

Due to her early Christian education, Nikole became a pastor – not because she loved religion, but because she loved performing in front of others.

Even that, however, was rebellious in her family’s eyes.

“I was taught that women aren’t allowed to lead and that women belong in the kitchen and with the children,” said Mitchell, 36. “So even though it went against everything I was told, I decided to become [a pastor] because of my love for performing.”

In 2011, Nikole, along with her now ex-husband, joined the Woodland Hills Church — an evangelist megachurch in St. Paul, Minnesota — which opened her eyes to the possibility of gender equality within the faith.

“It blew my mind,” she recalled of her first visit to the holy house. Every Sunday, Nikole was the first in line to ask the pastor a question after the sermon.

“One of my pastors said ‘Nikole, did you realize that you’re a theologian? And they said, ‘We’d like you to be one of our pastors,’ ” she recalled. “To be on stage in front of thousands of people — that’s what I had been dreaming of for years.”

Eager to rise up the ranks, Nikole — who was also raising three kids now aged, 10, 7 and 4 — snagged a spot as a weekly pastor in 2016.

But it was in 2016 that Nikole’s true identity began to unfurl when she attended an LGBT-oriented theater performance.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t think I’m straight’ and it rocked my world,” said Mitchell, who now identifies as bisexual and pansexual. “I knew if I revealed my queerness I would lose it all because the church is not welcoming to queer people.”

She suddenly felt as if she was living “a very duplicitous life” and struggled to keep her sexuality a secret.

So after giving her first widely-attended weekend sermon on July 4th weekend in 2017, Mitchell left the church for good.

“I just never showed up again,” she said.

A few months later, Nikole came out publicly in a confessional YouTube video posted on her social media platforms.

Faced with rebuilding her life, she decided to become a stripper and erotic model and launched an OnlyFans account where she posts explicit photos and videos in exchange for money.

“I started off really timid like just topless photos, but now I’m at the point where I take personal requests and make videos very tailored to people’s specific desires,” said Nikole, who also works as a life coach and offers courses such as “How to Unf - - k Yourself” about how to be your true self. “I’m to the point where back in March I was actually going to be paid several thousand dollars to have sex with someone, and I was A-OK with that, but then COVID hit and that got canceled.”

Nikole relocated to Los Angeles in August 2019 and divorced her husband in June.

But today, Nikole is happier than ever.

“Every person has the right to express themselves in whatever way feels good to them and this is how it feels good to me,” she said.
