Movie Producer and Actress, Angelina Jolie has made a statement indicating her inability to be present at events for the World War Two drama "Unbroken," which is her second film as director. The movie is set to premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, and is slated to be in cinemas on Christmas day.

She is quoted below

"I just want to be clear and honest why I will be missing the 'Unbroken' events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chicken pox, so I will be home, itching and missing everyone and I can't believe it because this film means so much to me. I just can't believe it, but such is life" Jolie, Brad Pitt's wife said.

The Archbishop of Jos condemned the effort of the government saying, "The government must step up to show it cares".

Two explosions went off in quick succession in Jos on Thursday.
The first blast went off at about 6.30pm at the popular Mr. Biggs, situated in the busy Terminus area of the metropolis, while the second explosive exploded some minutes later along Masalachi Juma road.

Though, casualty figures had yet to to ascertained, reports reaching us has it that over 30 people were killed. Terminus is usually heavily populated in the evenings when traders, who had been sacked from the area, usually return to make quick evening sales and mostly populated now that people are making Christmas sales. It also serves as a park for commuters rushing home after the close of work or business.

He accused two of his children (the ones he disowned) Chukwudi and Nonso Nwobodo, of stealing the corpse of their older brother, Ifeanyi Nwobodo, who died in November after a battle with cancer.

A gay lover in Abuja has stabbed his partner to death in a hotel.
According to PUNCH




"A suspected gay, Mohammed Snu, has been murdered by his partner, Mohammed Umar, inside a room of a hotel in Garki, Abuja.

It was gathered that Snu died after he was stabbed multiple times in the ribs with a screw driver by Umar last Thursday.

The deceased, who was a regular guest at the hotel, was said to have invited Umar for sex, but their romance went sour when Snu refused to pay his partner for the second round of sex.

A source in the hotel told PUNCH Metro that the two men had sex twice, but Snu allegedly refused to pay for the second round, which led to a scuffle.

The source said, “The man had just come back from a mosque where he went for prayers with his partner when we heard a loud noise from his room and a voice saying ‘ya kuri (please, don’t be angry)’. By the time we forced the door open, we saw Umar standing naked and Snu lying dead on the bed with stab injuries on his body. We immediately called the police and Umar was arrested.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that the police came back later and whisked away the hotel manager for interrogation.

The incident was said to have generated an uproar around the Garki neighbourhood, as residents gathered in clusters to discuss the tragedy.

Our correspondent was told that policemen from the FCT Command came in a white pick-up van and took the corpse away.

They also drove away his white Mercedez salon car with Abuja registration number, KUJ 883 AQ, which was parked on the hotel premises.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Okechukwu, who confirmed the incident, explained that the deceased invited the suspect to massage him in his hotel room, saying he had pains in his ribs.

He said, “In the course of the massage, Snu asked Umar to UnCloth for sex, and from there, they engaged in a scuffle leading to the stabbing of the deceased by the suspect. It was the loud noise from their room that attracted the hotel workers.

“When our men got to the hotel, we found the deceased and the suspect naked. Investigations have commenced and we will soon know what actually transpired behind the closed door.”

AMIDST the stormy weather in Nigerian football, the Amaju Pinnick-led Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, would score yet another goal in transparency and accountability today, when they return a whooping $3 million(N510 million) to Government.

The money is part of the appearance fee of the Super Eagles to the World Cup in Brazil which the Federal Government paid for the team to play their second round match of the World Cup against France.

The Eagles had boycotted training and threatened not to play the match against France if the allowance from the FIFA largesse was not paid. As at the World Cup, FIFA had not paid the money but the team held Nigeria to the jugular before President Goodluck Jonathan fell to their blackmail and, through Sports Minister Tammy Danagogo, sent the money in a chartered aircraft to Brazil to the team. Unfortunately, the team concentrated more in sharing the money than the match at hand. The sharing was on till 3 to 4 am on the same day they had a 5 pm match. They lost to France 2 – 0 at the Estardo Nacional in Brasilia to exit the World Cup. The players were so fatigued and paid the price.
That was the beginning of a new phase of crisis in Nigerian football. There had been fears and speculations that when FIFA finally pays the money, the $3 million released by Government might develop wings.
But Sports Vanguard gathered authoritatively that NFF would return the money to the Government in what many observers have termed a rare show of transparency and accountability.


Secretary-General of the federation Musa Amadu said last week that the federation would return the money to the Federal Government. The board confirmed last night that this will be done this week.
The Pinnick-led Board had been weathering a lot of storm since after being elected in Warri.
One of their recent laudable efforts was sending 11 Nigerian elite referees to the Premier League in the UK to enhance their capacity and to be able to improve the lot of football on the Nigerian domestic scene.

They say is a blessing
But still am yet to understand;
Do they mean 40-70yrs or is it what i think they mean, 80 and above.

I believe these count as 'THE' blessings of old age:
Feable & trembling voice..
Weak bones that u have to drag ur legs on the floor while walking..
Pains in the joints that u take different drugs & pain sprays all in vain..
Wrinkled skin and ugly face that sometimes u scare children..
Reluctant to take pictures because u dont want 2 see ur face, ur mirror always facing the wall..
Sitting indoors all the time b'cos u cant carry ur body again..
Getting frustrated b'cos there seems to be no cure to all those sickness..
4 ur info there is no cure!

Are these the blessings?
Or is this phrase 'OLD AGE IS A BLESSING' just a form of encouragement coined for people suffering from this sickness called old age..

The Central Bank of Nigeria have concluded plans to compel Commercial Banks to include lower naira denominations to their Automated Teller Machines
The Apex Bank's Head, Payment System Policy and Oversight Division of Banking and Payments Department of the CBN, Mr Musa Iteopa-Jimoh stated in a recent interview that
“We are working towards having the mix of lower and higher denominations and we believe that this will be acceptable by Nigerians and will further enhance the use of ATMs and promote cashless policy further into the rural areas and also drive the policy of financial inclusion”
