Carbon Monoxide

Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES.

Generator exhaust contains high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas you cannot see or smell.

The Nigerian Accident Investigation Bureau (NAIB) has revealed its future plans to take the engine from the crashed aircraft of the former Taraba State governor, Danbaba Suntai, to Canada for disassembling.

The agency is making the move after 5 years after the aircraft crashed in Yola of Adamawa state, which was piloted by the late governor.

Mr. Akin Olateru revealed the plans of the Agency to reporters on Thursday at NAIB’s headquarters at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

According to Mr. Olateru, the disassemble of the aircraft’s engine will help the investigators to find out the true condition of the engine before it crashed, stating that the insufficiency of funds interrupted the final report of the jet crash over the years.

“We are about to take the aircraft engine that involved the former and late governor of Taraba State, Mr. Danbaba Suntai, in 2012, abroad. We are planning to send the aircraft engine back to the manufacturer for what we call engine teardown.

“It is one of the processes of accident investigation. Just to ship an engine abroad is a challenge,” he said.

The aircraft that the late governor Yuntai piloted, reportedly hit the ground behind the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) warehouse along Yola-Numan Road at about 7 p.m.

Mr. Suntai had about a year earlier acquired his Private Pilot License (PPL) at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) and was guaranteed for visual flight only, which is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

But the aircraft, which he reportedly obtained from Senator Ibn-Na’Alla, after his course at NCAT, was still being flown by him at around 7 p.m. before it crashed.
