nemynely: The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Osun State chapter, Comrade Babatunde Jacob AdekomI, Thursday, said the state government has paid the salary of all workers in the state up to June, 2017 in line with the agreement made between it and the labour union.Internet rumor bad for your health and mental well being. Irresponsible is people like you peddling hate and rumors all over the internet. |
Olafisoyem: Fifty of the 85 students of Osun State University sent to Ukraine to complete their medical studies by the Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration graduated from the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Kharkov, Ukraine and become medical doctors.Next time, bring your facts. |
PrecisionFx:Only if you really don't know how to read and comprehend. Corruption looting and stealing at the federal level kills states economically, both are connected from top to bottom |
ddippset:The OP basically slaughtered himself with his own ignorant facts and elementary logic. |
PrecisionFx:1. Every kobo earned by Nigeria goes into the federal account and later shared by between the FG, states and local government. 2. Because of the above, corruption, looting and stealing at thew federal level largely dictates what's available to your state governors and eventual development. 3. Because of the above, corruption, looting and stealing leaves the federal accounts via the ministries like the same agric ministry you mentioned very depleted hence the FG not able to invest in federal projects and infrastructures like electricity, good roads, bridges, hospitals, good schools ports and airports and so on which in effect affects states economic capacities and ability to boost IGRs which the states funds their own infrastructures with. 3. Because of the above corruption, looting and stealing at the federal level, federal roads and infrastructures in many of our states are rotting away and instead of many states spending their meager resources on their own people, they end up spending billions on neglected federal roads that they hardly get refunds on. 4. Corruption, looting and stealing at the federal level dominoes and affects every state, corner, towns and villages in Nigeria. You want federal presence in your state, but you have no issues with the government looting and stealing $500 billion in less than 6 years and still nothing to show at the state and federal level for all that money. 5. Expecting federal projects and developments at the state level from a very corrupt and weak FG and weak institutions at the same time sounds very pointless and hopeless. 6. IPOBs and other agitators main issues with Nigeria and the FG is neglect and lack of federal pretense so where is the federal presence going to come from after looting and stealing every kobo? Or their own elected officials and kinsmen not part of every Federal administration in Nigeria? Nigerians just can not be honest with themselves, they are too comfortable with tribalism, hypocrisy, pointing fingers and blaming other people. |
PrecisionFx:But you people can blame the current administration for everything and even for not developing your states instead of your governors. Hypocrisy at the highest level. |
nemynely:You mean the government shouldn't help or provide good education to Nigerians unless they can pay them? No sense, just hatred, blind and illogical criticism. |
hilroy:The only threat to this thread is spam bot because it blocks participation and disables posters for days. This thread is not at least 400 -500 pages because of spam bot. Blanket spam bot ban regardless the thread, posters and what's being posted sounds very shortsighted and counter productive because I don't see the wisdom in banning active content producers for no fault of their own and what you can not even advice them per how to avoid. |
Daguccizgreat:Almost $500 billion earnings and oil boom and you still end up with little or no electricity, bad roads, bad bridges, no hospitals and poor healthcare, lousy schools, corrupt government and institutions stealing and looting openly, borrowing to pay workers salary with states moving towards bankruptcy with high unemployment and so on, but you saw no failure in that and according to you, a 2-3 year old government with the lowest earning in the history of Nigeria is a failure? I don't even see any sense here. I honesty don't think many of you are sharing honest and genuine concerns or even care about Nigeria because all I see is hatred and bitterness for just one man, the president. |

kahal29:It's even sad that with the hundreds of billions Jonathan earned and while making almost $100/barrel from oil, he was still borrowing hundreds of billions to pay workers salary. Jonathan was a waste of time and he destroyed Nigeria. |

vincent10:Not really, this is happening because of Fashola and his experience in Lagos state regarding power generation and transmission. Lagos state built the first IPP in Nigeria and was eventually denied the benefits because the state was unable keep the generated power in Lagos state because of FG sabotage under OBJ so as the governor of Lagos state and while other states refused to learn from Lagos and were building IPPs and getting the same sabotage from the FG's transmission and distribution monopoly, Fashola devised a plan to walk around the FG's monopoly by building 5 power stations in Lagos state to provide uninterrupted power supply to state institution like hospitals, courts, streets, bridges, water works, secretariat and some industries in Ikeja. Fashola knew building power stations alone wasn't enough since generated power must run through the inefficient FG's transmission monopoly so he devised another plan to walk around that monopoly by laying his own dedicated underground distribution network to transmit generated power from his power stations in Lagos state. By doing the above, Fashola was the only leader in Nigeria since independence able to guarantee uninterrupted powers supply to hospitals, state institutions and public facilities, the only thing he was unable to do was residential power supply because of FG restrictions. Fashola pushed the limits in his state when it comes to power generation and transmission, but at the Federal level where there's always inability to source funds and policy changes from selfish and antagonistic federal lawmakers is still a problem so, he's still limited in a lot of ways. |
