Guys...do we know anyone that has applied to be nominated for Petroleum Engineering NSW recently and has gotten an ITA?. I need to weigh in the statistics. Cos as it is WA is a no go area.

You can look on immitracker website to have a rough idea on when you can get Nsw nomination with 55 points.

But from my little research and discussion with friends, Nsw nominates engineers without any condition like work experience or employment contract. However, for the same reason, there is a long queue of those waiting for nomination. Personally, I submitted my EOI (Mining Engineering) with 55 on 01~ Feb~ 2016 and till date, no nomination.

The bottom line is, to get Nsw nomination, you need at least 60 points excluding the state sponsorship point. That's probably what happened with the Chemical engineer guy someone mentioned. He probably had 55 points plus 5 points from partner skills. that's why he got invited faster.

From July 1 this year, you could apply for a student visa while on a tourist visa. I would also advise you do not apply for any other visa now till you get the outcome of the visitor visa application.
Applying for a new visa now would overrule the initial application. Hope this helps

Visitors on the tourist visa subclass 600 would most like have a no further stay condition imposed on the visa because of GTE issues. The chances of converting your tourist visa to a student visa within 3 - 6 months is very slim. It would probably be possible if he has gotten admission, paid fees and gotten COE before hand. Then he can make the application in Australia and be placed on a bridging visa.

Do more research on WA sponsorship. For WA to sponsor you, you need at least 5 points from relevant work experience. That means you must be able to prove at least 1 year Australian experience or 3 years overseas experience in your field. There is also the issue of employment contract and proof of funds.

Nsw sponsors engineers (without work experience) but like someone said before, it takes ages to get invited. Except if you get 20 points from English. With 65 points and above, I believe you would be invited faster.

We are about completing our 18 months Masters in Australia. we are not qualified for the graduate visa hence we are considering our options. I just wanted to find out if anyone applied for a 476 visa using an Engineering Masters degree from Australia. The aim is to buy time so as to gain 20 points from English.

Here are few questions I need clarifications on;

1. Does Australia give post graduate work permit after studies? If yes, how many years?

2. How many hours can one work as a full time student?

3. Postgraduate Diploma and Masters which is cheaper?

4. Which school, city or province can one recommend for a civil engineering student based on how easy to get a student job and lower living expenses.

NB: he made second class lower (less than 3.0) in his undergraduate in Nigeria

Some quick answers for you.

1. Yes, you can get a post graduate work visa, if and only if you do a minimum of 2 years study. Note that some offers for some Masters program is usually for 18 months or 1.5 years which doesn't qualify for a post graduate work visa. The number of years you get on the post graduate visa could be 1.5 or 2 years. I am not sure how they decide that.

2. A full time international student is legally allowed to work 20 hours per week or 40 hours per fortnight.

3. I am not sure what you mean by this question but I do know that some people are not given Masters admission directly. they have to do a pgd in the first year and complete the Masters in the second year. if this is what you mean, then the fees for a pgd would be cheaper since its just for one year.

4. no one can really recommend a city for you. In my opinion, there are jobs available in all the major cities. you could just apply to various schools, get the admission offers and see which one would be best for you. And just like someone suggested, reading the thread would help as you can pick out schools people already mentioned.

I have ielts academic (7.5 overall score) but expires this sept, i believe I can score higher if I put in more effort. what would you advise I need to do to emmigrate to australia and how much would it cost on the average. thanks

Skilled migration for engineers is pretty straightforward. For your Ielts, you need to have a minimum of 7 in all the bands to get 10 points. you can get 20 points if you score a minimum of 8 in all the bands. how old are you? that would determine how many points you get for age. then you need to work on your competency demonstration report so you could gain points for your bachelor's degree. Visit Engineers Australia website for more information about that.

Your 2 years post grad work experience may not be able to fetch you any points so your best bet would be scoring 8 in Ielts

As at the last time I checked, Biomedical science is not on any list. Hence, you can't use it to get a PR. Do your research well.

In Perth, it's about 1800 aud for the aged care training. It's approximately 3 weeks for the training itself and another 3 weeks for a practical placement.

The security course is about 1200 aud which includes the training itself and a security card. The training should be for about 2 weeks full time or 3 weeks evening part time. It looks like you need an Australian or WA licence to do the course. I am not sure of that.

Traffic control is the cheapest. it costs about 550 aud and the training takes 2 -3 days. This gives you an edge if you want to work in construction.

But in my opinion, the best bet is aged care. But you just have to be careful to do the training with an organization that is also an agency.

Curtin University is a good school. We have a couple of Nigerians here too. There are casual jobs in Perth but the limit of 20 hours per week could be a challenge.

However, to make life easy for you, come prepared to do a short course/training in aged care, disability, traffic control or security/crowd control. Any of these certificates would make it easier for you to get jobs. But it means you have to come with enough money and come a bit earlier because some of the courses take between 3 ~ 6 weeks full time.

There are also jobs working as kitchen hands, working in retail, construction etc but they are harder to get.

First of all, Nigeria's traffic rule of give way to those on your left doesnt apply here because looking at the picture very well, you would see that the scenario is taken from where they 'drive left' using RHD cars. Meanwhile, we 'drive right' in Nigeria using LHD cars.

From the picture you should give way to traffic from your right. A has ROW so he goes first, then B and C.

It's time to post mine now. My grant for 573 visa came in today. I applied on the 30th of Jan. I did my medicals a week b4 that day. Met a guy at the clinic applying for Griffin Uni. He did his medicals that day and applied for the visa that same day. He got his grant last week.

Paschal007: Today was a bad day for me.while I was asleep my lil sis drew many wrong pattern I used to lock my phone and the thing blocked. I had to do factory reset which means all my data, apps, games, series, notes I downloaded were gone.

to make matters worse, dvpn wasn't connecting. thankfully most games with large sd data files are still intact. I would just download their apks and hope it works. and for others just start all over again.

If your L3 is rooted, backup all your apps and data regularly with Titanium Backup. it's a very powerful app that backups both system and user apps. Any time you factory reset your phone, you can easily install Titanium backup and restore all your apps and data back from your SD card...it works like magic...

Finally. now I can enjoy apps that require root access. if you are in Benin and you need help rooting yours, pm me...

lucky patcher works for pes 12. uninstall the apk. reinstall it, then use lucky patcher for it before opening the apk for the first time. thank me later...lol

it's possibly due to network problem. you don't need to switch off you fone. you can just turn on airplane mode and turn it off again. it would search for the network again and connect the mobile data.
