ishiamu:All the work/tourist visas have names. Ask the person the subclass name of the visa he wants to apply for you. With that, you can do your own research or come back to tell us here. And yes, if your Australian visa is valid, you can verify it on Vevo website. Search for it. Lastly, it might be better to go read the DIY Australian PR thread. |
MJ888:It depends on what occupation you would be able to nominate at the end of your studies. There is construction Project manager but vetasses requires one year post qualification experience. So it's better to apply for PR now with your Chemical engineering. You can get a positive skills assessment with engineers Australia without work experience. |
Emmabogs:I haven't done centrelink or Medicare. But considering things like opening a bank account, registering your phone line, buying/transferring a car to your name, you may need proof of address, sometimes, which you can easily get from your airbnb host. Keep track of everywhere you use that address as they would start sending mails to that house. When you get your own place, update all the addresses. And then keep in touch with your host so you can check for or ask if there are any mails for you. Your ATM card would have already been processed to the temporary address so you need to keep an eye out for things like that. The bosses would comment on the other areas. |
I guess he is the one who was asking about converting tourist visa to PR. We really don't know. Lol. But if you have questions about student visa or skilled migration, he can go and ask on the respective threads. |
korlahwarleh:Nsw is divided into different regions for the purpose of regional skilled migration. Do you mean work at any location within the region that sponsored you? The answer is Yes. You are the one who decides what part of the region you want to settle down in. Do you mean work in any part of regional Nsw outside the region that sponsored you? Technically speaking, yes. But then, you have a moral obligation to show up in the region that sponsored you, settle there and try to find work there. Before you think of expanding your search. And then generally speaking to those considering 489 nomination especially from Nsw. You have to apply to the particular region you are interested in. Not just creating an eoi and selecting 489. |
feelzee:I am guessing this occupation is on SA supplementary list. Which means, there are additional requirements to get nominated. There are 4 of them ~ SA international graduates, working in SA, high points and chain migration. Since they have blocked off 2 of them, it means you won't be nominated unless you are a SA graduate who is already working in that occupation. |
ArewaGlamour01:CC @Bellong I thought what he needs to check is if his PGD in Education meets AITSL's requirements as regards supervised teaching practice, minimum 1 year duration and the appropriate English test score. Do they also require experience now? It's been a while I read about it though. |
Misoke:Lol. Nor be only you. Black eye beans?
|
happy4lucy:Up to $200 on extra luggage? You would probably go home with a trolley full of food if you take that amount shopping at an African shop in any of the big cities. Just like Bellong said. Costly or expensive is relative. Especially with the initial practice of converting Aud to Naira and Naira to Aud. Even bread would appear expensive if you convert the cost to Naira. Lol |
Arcasie:On page 252, someone asked a similar question. Yeah, the school would give you a COE stating that you have satisfied the requirements of English but then, it's at the discretion of the case officer to ask for your English test scores or not. The time frame they give you may not be enough to book, write and get the results of English tests like Ielts and then CO contact asking for English test scores would further delay your application. No one can really say if it's too late or not as it depends on the backlog of student visa applications. June/July is really busy for them so the earlier you submit your application, the better for you. You should also make your application decision ready. I would suggest you register and write any of the English tests. If there is a chance they would ask for a document, include it while submitting your application. Go through the document checklist and also check out the documents people who have gotten their grants submitted. Don't also forget to frontload your medicals. All the best! |
aussy4life:Congrats. |
sollej:I would suggest you just apply for Master's of Nursing directly. There is really no need for the MPH. Just confirm the Masters of Nursing from whatever Uni you choose would qualify you to register as a Nurse. Masters of Nursing is 2 years so you can apply for your Post Study visa and have enough time to complete your RN process and wait for Nomination. |

Bellacious:Congratulations Bellacious |
bornlegend:The whole of Northern Territory is listed as regional or low population growth metropolitan areas. As far as the campus you are studying is in NT, you should be able to claim studying in a regional area, if that's what you are after. The places that other guy mentioned are regional areas in Victoria. |
bellong:This is correct. But not forgetting all the hours you have to do in the 6 months before being able to sit your practical test. In WA, after passing your practical test, you would have to wait for about 6 months before getting your red P while doing more hours. I am not sure it's like that in other states. |
jukeblam:Haha. I have seen this a couple of times and I was wondering if they serve Akara as breakfast there. lol |
Vinsmuft:Most of the mechanics say timing belt is due for replacement every 100,000 kms. The reading as at the last time it was replaced is usually written on the timing belt cover. However, most people dont do it and just keep driving the car like that. Although $1200 is a bit on the high side especially considering how much you bought it. |
gnykelly:Locals who were born or grew up there and/or those who live and work there. There are lots of other people you would find there but most are tourists or those who stop over to break their long drives. |
For Team Qld, this is Agnes Water. Small, neat and quiet town (or village sef) with a permanent population of less than 2000 people. Lots of tourists as its a beautiful holiday destination. Its about 480km north of Brisbane. If you use vodafone network, please take along telstra sim when visiting as there is no vodafone network there.

uchenna2017:For a single individual, its pretty easy as you can easily find backpackers or something similar and chill there for 3 - 5 days while you find a flatshare or houseshare but for families, it might be a bit harder. From my experience, in a 'big city' like Perth, you would find lots of ads (private rental) on gumtree. In the regional cities or towns, they use more of facebook groups. So you need to search on facebook for the name of the city plus things like rental properties or rent homes and rooms. Join the groups and comment or inbox posts you are interested in. Some people also post rent properties ads on 'buy, sell and swap' groups. Most of these posts are usually found on facebook marketplace but not all of them. You can also search budget hotels or motels in these cities. The daily rates are usually expensive but some of them (especially the owner operated) are usually willing to negotiate a weekly or long stay rate. These budget hotels or motels usually have ensuite rooms that can sleep 3 - 6 people. There may or may not be a shared kitchen. If you manage to get a reasonably priced 1 or 2 weeks temp accommodation, you can then use that time to inspect rental properties. And it would make sense to focus on furnished units. Realestate.com.au is a good place to search for those rental properties. |
majiouk2002:Leederville is the closest to the Cbd so it may be more expensive. Joondalup is a nice area but traffic on the freeway to the city and from the city at peak times could be challenging when you have to drive. The good thing is, they all have train stations so public transport wouldn't be an issue. So it basically depends on if you want to live close to the Cbd or not. |
WellEndowed:You and our other ogas and madam's living in Perth have refused to represent. Lol. And then, we wonder why all the new immigrants from the other thread are all going to Melbourne or 'worst case', Sydney. Non of them considering Brisbane or Perth. Haba! I saw somewhere you said you lived in Kalgoorlie. Any pictures from there? Once upon a time, I tried looking at pictures of Kalgoorlie on Google Street View because I was curious as I had never left Perth to any part of regional WA. I later went to Bunbury and Busseltton and I was very impressed. We also need Sujydee to come and share his experience in his part of Regional Nsw. |
Olowogbogboro17:just like he said earlier on, you are better off going to read that PR thread. With your B.Ed, you might be able to assess as a secondary school teacher. |
Happy Birthday Bellong. Wish you divine wisdom and divine speed. All the best. |
