Please let's discuss planting two cucumber seed per hole. Do two seeds in the same planting hole increase or decrease yield?
Anyone with a practical experience should help to throw more light on it. Thanks!

if you want to know how effective ash is, just burn a section of the debris in your farm, and observe the difference between the ash enhanced soil even after many months compared to the best manure application, the only challenge is having the non-leached ash it in large quantities...ash has higher Ca,P,K values , but manure improves the soil organic matter quality, slowly releases nutrients and improves water retention capacity

So can we substitute poultry manure with oil palm ash Or we use the both simultaneously?

2) I don't know about its marketability beyond the Akwa Ibom, cross river, and Rivers state
3)it produces more than 10 fruits if managed properly, though they are smaller compared to others
4)It's a self pollinating like cu999
5)It may take more than 120 fruits
6) Murano and greengo are not accepted at all around Akwa Ibom, don't know about Rivers state, even cu99 is not acceptable during the rainy season over here.

Saira is 42days from planting to 1st harvest, My Saira is 41 days today and I will be harvesting btw tomorrow or next dept on the endsars curfew ...I have not planted cu986 before, so I can't say a thing about its yield, but from what I have seen, i will harvest them within the next 2 weeks(under 42days),as it's already forming fruits

I know very little about the Edo market and terrain, so I can't offer any tangible solution(s). The only thing I will say is find large farms, liaise with the farm managers/workers as most of these large farms don't have enough products to meet their demands! Search for the middlemen, these guys can cross rivers and deep valleys to buy your products if you have them in good quantity and you have quality products too especially now that we are headed towards the dry season

The only thing that will stop Uyo buyers from coming to your farm is the quantity of bags per harvest so they can offset the transport cost! Is your farm far from Kaduna junction close to oboetim?

This is the challenge I am facing in Edo State. No market to take much quantity and nobody is Willing to come to your farm.

Poultry one is far better. Cattle dung also contains grass seeds. But if I can get cattle dung for free or at a much cheaper rate, I will go for it.

Thank you. Since poultry droppings is better, I will prefer spend money to get the best than going for something that is cheap and will affect the yield negatively.

Dear Joseph,
From my own experience, realizing is different from profit. You can realize 50k but what about your cost. but if 50k profit is what you mean then we can talk about the plant management. Water and chemical management are one the most important factors during the dry season as there will be less humidity and more pest. if you solve this, then you can make more than that as a profit during the dry season because during the dormant months of no rain, you will still be selling and the price will be at least double high and the roads to the market will be free and dry.
Also i noticed someone's advice on making beds for ugu. this is a no brainer during the dry season, dont try it. And then if you are going to do ugu during the dry season, you need to plant between september and october for upland planting. I hope this little advice helps.
