Xlyad:
Several factors have to be taken into consideration. First, the quality of seed, adequacy of water supply , quality of manure and fertilizer used, location of the farm and the market you are selling to,crop density, amongst other factors have to be considered. In a place like Lagos it is possible
on the average sir, how much can someone get from one plot on a monthly basis?

Agriculture / Re: Palm Kernels For Sale in Uyo by Idemujoseph: 8:28am On Jun 05, 2020
Atlanticfire:

Why will you want to sell a bag of palm kernel for 15,000 naira?

Is it not 80kg bag?

Selling 80 kg for 15,000 comes to 187,500 naira per ton of the kernel.

That means to get a ton of palm kernel oil from your kernel, one has to buy 468,750 naira worth of kernels which is higher than the cost of the 1 ton of pko that he will get from the kernels.

Why would anyone want to buy from you and lose money? Where will he sell the kernel or the pko to recoup his money? We have not even added transport cost.
Lol

are U talking about drying the whole pod or chopping them into slices ?
I am talking about slicing it into pieces and then dry it for storage.

Let's discuss how to store fresh okra by drying it after harvest so that it can be sold during shortage season in the market.

Thank you @bubayaro for the feedback. I entered market today I saw retailers shading okra 4pcs @N50. Ones does not need a soothsayer to predict the scarcity of okra in the market between Dec ending to mid April especially now that nothing is coming from Benin rep.
That is true

I am just joking because the one you want to plant will not meet the current situation.
lol please what situation?
Anyway, I don't think any reasonable person will plant okro now because there is no rain. I think if i use irrigation method, it will still be expensive in the market because people may likely start planting from February.

Make it next year.. okro needs 50 to 65 days before fruiting by that time .. by that time there'll be excess supply of okro it the market.. next time start your seedlings as early as September..
now I see.
Many thanks to you all
