Please brethren, update the current price of cucumber in your area. Thanks!

If the UN is not toothless, why haven't they call Buhari to order since all this while?
Or they want the wicked president to kill everybody in this country before they will arrest him?
UN is failing in this time of need!

my brother I think whiteflies are the most stubborn insects to eradicate,I have seen a whole farm wiped out by excessive chemicals sprayed for whiteflies,if you have used dimethon I guessed you have used magicforce and action 40 ,if the fly still persists look for an acephate based insecticide like acetaforce and use,but if the flies are not there yet I think a weekly spray of action 40 will be a good preventive measure, some areas are prone to heavy whitefly infestation.
Good morning sir! Please sir, how much can a farmer get per harvest of one plot of land?

don't underestimate the marketers at Coke or relief market onitsha ,one marketer can sell 200 bags of cucumbers daily.if in doubt go and see with your two korokoro eyes.
Mr Emeka, you are making me to cry right now. You gave me all necessary assistance when I first venture into cucumber farming as a novice. You give out information to everyone as if you are our blood brother or relation. Here you are again, giving me great hope. With the few things you have shared on nairaland since November 2018 till now, I have made some cash as a corps member(nysc). Now that I am through with nysc, I want to go into farming business. I just wish every politician is like you. This country would have be one of the best places in the world.
May the good God that see everything continue to bless.

if it is okra there's not much to learn about planting it,but cucumbers can be really tasking,I didn't learn from anybody because there's almost no farmer planting cucumbers in our area by 2014,I just consumed threads by jasper7,vanpele,olaimo,ishasguy,etc and combined more from goggle farm.
Sir hope there is progress in your okra farm? I am waiting for your own so that I will plant and learn from it.

in the north we didn't eat much maize like that fresh.no any good market for it only dry one, therefore I don't have option than to allow it to dry before threshing it.
oh no! Here in Benin and warri, 1 fresh maize is 25 to 30 naira at the farm. They will come to your farm and harvest it themselves.
Multiple it by 50000 fresh maize in hectare. People from benin city should quote me wrong if I lie or exaggerate.

I was in the farm yesterday, the maize performance is impressive, almost all the villagers are talking about the maize.yeah this is their first time of seeing pioneer maize seed planted in their village.here is the picture below.the haverst time is next month.I will update about the actual yield we get per hectare.
My brother, y not sell it fresh and get you money. I think selling fresh corn is more profitable than dry corn.

we harvested the okro today,it's 54 days since we planted and we are just still having 30-40% flowering and 20% production, but by next week we will have full production, the crops was 1 feet 6 inches by harvest, just once npk 201010 application(3 weeks) and once manure(4 weeks) took it to this level,we will weed next week and apply another dose of fertilizer, compared to cucumbers the cost of production is very low and stress level non existent,we are seriously considering a dry season okra farm with drip irrigation,so far what we have spent so far is less than ₦10,000 naira on almost one plot of okra, ridges₦2000,seed₦1500, fertilizer₦1200,manure₦500, weeding ₦1300, insecticide₦2500(used only 30%).I could have included pics of the freshly prepared okra soup vs goat meat, but I think it could be graphic and could send many a stomachs rumbling.
The is very encouraging to young farmer like me.

Harvest volume as pa sequence is similar to that of cucumber and tomatoes. But not as lucrative as both, its only advantage is it requires less inputs: energy, time, resources, maintenace.Today you may harvest a bagco bag, next 4 days a 25kg bag and next 50kg, then diminishing return sets in from same portion of land.
As pa life span, I remember I planted one on independence day (Oct 1st) and I harvested till Jan. The thing died in Feb cos I stop irrigating. There was high demand in Jan n Feb due to its scarcity.
Thank you madam! Please the bagco bag, 25kg and 50kg, is it from one plot or acre?
