I don't know what to call this,our okra plants are fruiting without flowering,fruits are everywhere with not even one flower in sight,I know some okra varieties can self pollinate like pepper,but having fruits develop straight without any sign of flowers,I will not deny this is my first time of seeing such,and if it continues like I suspect it will then the nihort NH-Ae47 variety is really full of surprises.

you should not.
if you do,you won't have a good harvest/yield because there would not be enough sunlight,air that will aid in but production.
the best you can do after using 8m by 8m is to intercrop the spaces with cassava,vegetables etc so you maximise them.

when the cashew start reaching 5-7 years, that when you will notice it overlapping with other ones,

Sir, can somebody plant cashew with 4 metres by 4 metres which will give about 250 stands per acre and reduce it to 8 metres by 8 metres after 5 years when it has shade?
I asked because I think that using 8 by 8 metres at 1 to 5 year when the plant is still small is not economical. Using 4 by 4 will give more income because the plant has not shade by them.
What do you think sir?

most times I get numerous calls and WhatsApp msgs from intending farmers asking questions about how difficult or challenging can growing veggies be,well I always tell them that their imagination is the only limitation,my 17 yrs old son and his 15 yrs brother teamed up and planted cucumbers as their holidays project on a land measuring 72 ft by 72 ft,I gave them a grant of #20,000k for the project,they managed to grow the crops with ogranic manure only,3-4 sprays of insecticide,zero fungicides and zero foliar fertilizer,I was surprised they harvested 8 bags first picking and a market woman paid them #4000 per bag and zoomed off with the produce this morning, from what i saw on the site 30-40 bags is achievable,there some people that still believe that growing veggies is rocket science,it's not,if a 15 yrs old boy can do that so can you.

I am hoping to get a safe land as soon as possible or else may goto other states where its favourable. Its expected to last above 15 years in optimum production. This can be a game changer if all things go well.

Expected yields is as fast as 6 months and a tree is expected to produce twice a year. First year projected yields is about 2 tonnes per hectare.

A hectare is expected to host about 1660 trees

Mr Emma, why not go to Oyo state where you can get affordable land? I always see advert of 60k per acre from that state.

On a side note, I gave some Cu999 seeds to a friend to plant around Yaba area. He planted and according to him, after going back again and again to the land where he planted, he abandoned it because he wasnt pleased with the rate of growth (said it was looking as if nothing will.come out of it).

Fast forward to day before yesterday, he called me that he went to the farm he abandoned and the cucumbers grew, even when he didn't apply anything and just abandoned, and he saw "The biggest cucumbers he has ever seen in his life

Sir when it come to size, don't play with cu999. I have not see any variety that can compete with it in aspect of size.

you will definitely have the upper hand if you also use improved varieties or hybrid seeds for high yields,I am guessing that those farmers will be using saved seeds from previous harvest,you can do melon but on a small scale to test the waters,melon cannot and will not be trusted not to misbehave, plant the okra on 1 acre or less batches to ensure continuous production.

you are correct sir. They use seeds saved from previous harvest. I will be grateful if you can point out possible challenges watermelon farmers do face.

I just started clearing 15 acres of land. 11 acres will be for okro and the other 4 acres will be for water melon.
Okro is just a normal crops that is been cultivated by 65-70% of the farmers here. So the challenge will not be much. They plant without applying pesticides and fertilizers(liquid and solid). I believe I have upper hand than them because I will definitely apply pesticide and fertilizer.
For watermelon, I am still contemplating wether to cultivate it or not. Because less than 5% of the farmers here cultivate it. I may use the space for watermelon to cultivate okro as well because watermelon is technical.
