ChrisKels: Nwakali is a CM not an AM Nwakali in my assessement is a midfielder with attacking qualities and when you combine the two factors you get an attacking midfielder. He possess every single quality of an attacking midfielder and has played there. He actually started as an AM. At his previous club he played as an attacking midfielder. Not saying he cant play CM but thats limiting his abilities. He plays a bit like Ozil with more but more conservative. |

Subzero047: I think you got it the other way, we have more attacking players but lack depth in midfield I am not talking just players here. How many attacking midfielders do we parade today then compare that to all the Ndidi , Zuby , Aribo , Agu , Azeeze , Etebo etc. The only natural attacking midfielder we currently have now is Nwakali. Eberechi is still English and will play for them firstly. |

forgiveness: Why? If an experienced player is still very active in a top club or league, I think will prefer such player.
For example, I will choose Balogun over Adeboroye. I will prefer Iheancho over Desser. I will choose Ighalo over any striker and I will choose Victor Moses over any winger we have now. Why? These guys don get experience and they are still active. Well , many factors are considered when making these decision. By the way who is Adeboroye ? For instance, you cant start a bench warmer like Ighalo when you have an compplete destroyer in Osimhen. Victor Moses will still sit on my bench even if he plays 90 minute in every game. Chukwueze is more of a team player. |

I have noticed a certain trend with Nigerian football. Lately , it seems we have been churning more DM/CM than attacking midfielders and I wonder what is the cause. As it stands , I cant name one outstanding attacking midfielder of note that can readily play for Nigeria today. Why the dearth of attacking midfielder in our football system ? |

FIFA has moved the international window for the friendlies to January-February 2021.
No friendlies for September and October. So Nigeria vs Portugal, Portugal vs Spain and any other friendly fixed initially for Sept/October has been moved.
Details to follow. Covid taking its full toll on the world economy. What a fruitless year! |

forgiveness: Well, you may say that again but I think Uzoho got there due to opportunity and not because he's above that level. Well, Uzoho got there when we were in desperate need for a keeper. These were different times. He has grown in confidence which puts him ahead of these other emerging talents |

forgiveness: I have gone through the profile of all the aforementioned goalkeepers and I can see that only Uzoho and Alampasu has played at the highest level.
However, I discovered ...
I. That Uzoho is/was injured at the beginning of the season in the Cyprus league and missed the whole season.
II. That Okoye has only played in the 4th level of Germany football club system in the last two seasons but has now gone to the Eredivisie this current season.
III. That Sebastian has played in the Swiss second tier league in the last two seasons but signed for Swiss first tier league club at 26 years old. I don't know why you are cool with his height at 1:85m though.
IV. That Adeleye plays for Hapoel Jerusalem F.C in Israeli second tier league. This happened to be his first season in Europe.
V. That Matthew Yakubu just started his professional career this season in the Slovenia first tier league and has just played only one game out many games.
VI. That Alampasu is now in Latvia first league after he left the Portuguese club, and has managed to play some games.
After looking at all these players stats, I don't think their stats are impressive, and I don't think I will limit the prospect to just three or four players who are yet to do anything significant in their career.
As far as I am concern, all are still in the same level until they do something significant this season or afterwards.
As it stands, I declare all prospect. My humble opinion. They are not all on the same level because a goal keeper who had been to the world cup cant be compared to a keeper who is still in the second tiers league. His resume speaks volume. And why are we forgetting Akpeyi ? |

Philosopher1979: In my opinion i think onyekuru is like salah or mane of liverpool. A wing forward. In modern foitball the difference between winger and striker is not much. Thats how liverpool play Just posted before I saw this post. Yes , a bit like Mane but Mane's work rate is insane. Sala is more like it. Now , would you play Sala a 9? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by IDENNAA(m): 5:31pm On Aug 18, 2020 |
TheLoneCitizen: You don't have to be a target man to be a striker. There are different roles a striker can fulfill and target man is just one of them.
And Aguero is no isolated incident, of the 7 highest scoring strikers last decade in the EPL. 3 are the same height range as Onykeru and one is just 0.8m taller.
Onyekuru does not have the creativity of wingers, but has the finishing of strikers. Finishing ability is what makes you a good striker. Onyekuru is a winger with a unique style because of his goal scoring abilities. He mostly play to score not to create like old school wingers; you would observe the modern wingers are moulded in a striker--like form. Sala , Chukwueze , Mane , Arjen Robben are all modern wingers who has strikers attribute yet are never the point man. Aguero is world class and fits the style on Man City who like to keep the ball on the ground. Onyekuru is a potent scorer yet he lacks the complete quality of a 9. If he was a midfielder then it would make some sense becaise you could use him as an inverted 9, like Messi. Being a 9 is just more than slotting goals in.....the stamina to stand your ground and fight brutal defenders who are fixed on you nobi beans. A 9 has more responsibilities |

Onyekuru can score goals but he is not a point man. I even prefer Iheanacho in than positiin to Henry. |

komekn: You want to prove WHAT on faceless forum to give yourself credence to what purpose recognition.
You are indeed suffering with low self esteem.
I don't know but find your claim to be very very doubtful.
Because people who are educatrd in Nigeria have considerably better appreciation of the socio-economic and cultural dynamics in the USA than you do. You may reflect that common phenomenon where a person lives in a country but lives socially excluded. That is too say you may work in the USA but you don't live there.
It seems paradoxical but let me explain. There are people who work and reside in the USA just like the UK. But don't engage with society as a result you have Somalians who have resided in the UK for 30 years. But cannot speak any English. So they are resident but don't live here, because to live means to be full engaged with society not excluded.
Their entire social interaction are with a limited set of people, there own people. That's why you find some Nigerians that have lived here for 20 years plus but still cannot speak English properly. Or are unable to integrate and or engage with English society in it fullness. Why because they associate only with their own people.
My cousin left Nigeria from a university teaching Hospital in South South about 6 months ago. He now works in a hospital where his entire socio engagement and interaction are with White English people in the North of England.
In that small time his accent and diction have changed his mannerisms too. His appreciation of socio culture dynamics as well. You would think he has been here for over 15 years.
You however are the opposite. Lmao. Another bunch of incoherent twaddle from an empty brag who thought he could barge in here and intimidate Nigerians with your little travel to United Kingdom. Well ,you forced me to put you in your place. I didn't tell you where I reside until you tried to belittle me by suggesting I live in Burkina Faso as if the country was a hell hole. I am the big man here ,Nigga! You lot always start what you cant finish. Like I stated before I can prove my claim and shut your diarrhea mouth. If you didn't like my reaction then mind your gaddem business. You have very minute exposure and you are not what you claim. There is nothing I have written here that could be seen as uncivil except when people abuse me for airing my views and I reply in kind...hehe Also , you are a disgusting liar. Shameless liar! If you thought I was uncivil then prove it , else , keep quiet. If accent is your problem then you are the insecure one , wouldn't you. By the way , I have a cool accent according to random people... |
